Cannabis oil can help treat breast cancer – and the side effects of chemotherapy. Cannabis oil is a non-invasive and natural treatment. It has no negative side effects, unlike many cancer treatments like chemotherapy. Chemotherapy affects every cell in the body, while cannabis oil only affects the cancer cells, leaving alone the healthy cells.

There is both anecdotal and scientific evidence to suggest that cannabis oil does indeed kill cancer cells and stop tumours from growing and spreading.

Cannabis Oil Can Slow Down Breast Cancer

There are several ways in which the cannabinoids in cannabis can stop cancer in its tracks. Cancer cells are unlike healthy cells as they do not die but continue to spread and multiply. When cancer patients take cannabis oils constantly for a period, they keep up the metabolic pressure on cancer cells to die and to stop proliferating. It is therefore safe to say that cannabis oil can kill your cancer.

CBD and THC Can Help Treat Breast Cancer

Studies have revealed that cannabis cannabinoids tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) interact with CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors on cancer cells which encourages increased ceramide. This forces the cancer cells to commit suicide, or experience programmed cell death, which is essential for the maintenance of normal cellular homeostasis and is an important physiological response to many forms of cellular stress.

Cannabis oil has several anti-cancer properties. It is anti-emetic (decreases nausea and vomiting), anti-tumour (hinders the growth of tumours), analgesic (relieves pain), stimulates appetite, reduces stress and insomnia. This means that cannabis oil can be used to treat the symptoms of cancer, and to reduce the progress of the cancer.

Cannabis Oil Can Help Treat Breast Cancer
  • Anti-emetic – CBD can work with the body’s endocannabinoid system, activating specific receptors in the brain that help to suppress nausea and vomiting.
  • Anti-tumour – Cannabinoids can suppress tumours by forcing cancer cells to commit suicide. This also hinders the growth of cells and slows down the development of blood vessels that tumours depend on to grow. Cannabinoids can also stop metastasis, the breaking away of cancer cells from a tumour, to form a new tumour elsewhere in the body, using the blood or lymph system as their conveyer belt.
  • Analgesic – Cannabinoids cling to CB1 endocannabinoid receptors in the central nervous system and in the peripheral nerve endings. They also cling to CB2 endocannabinoid receptors in peripheral tissue of the immune system. Cannabinoids reduce pain when they act on the spine and surrounding regions of the body, influencing pain pathways travelling up and down this central and peripheral nervous system. CBD and THC are both natural anti-inflammatory compounds – when CBD clings to CB2 receptors, it releases anti-inflammatory agents including serotonin and histamine – having an effect like that of morphine.
  • Appetite stimulation – the body’s innate endocannabinoid system regulates many systems within the immune system, including appetite. THC is a great appetite stimulant in that it clings to CB1 receptors in the brain which could be linked to the perceptions of eating and getting rewards.
  • Stress and insomnia – The endocannabinoid system can help to regulate moods and destroy any unpleasant, negative memories. CBD is a known anti-anxiety compound, calming people down and reducing stress. When cannabinoids work with the endocannabinoid system, they can induce better sleep patterns, so reducing insomnia and allowing the patient to calm down, eat well and sleep.
More About Breast Cancer and Cannabis Oil

CBD and THC also have anti-proliferative powers in that they can halt the spread of cancer cells which refuse to stop growing. CBD has been shown to protect cancer patients from cancer cell movements, their grip on other cells and their general assault on the body and its natural cells. Cannabinoids can block metastasis – tumours can no longer travel to other parts of the body, spreading the cancer. Earlier research revealed that THC induces apoptosis in tumour cells so that they do die.

Cannabis oil can help treat breast cancer as it is a natural pain killer and anti-inflammatory. Go for it, try cannabis oil today but do get in touch with us first and don’t forget to consult your doctor to make sure you are doing the right thing for your current medication.

As South Africa approaches times when soon cannabis oil will be all over the shelves as a natural medication, we urge you to realise that cannabis oil is good for you. We explain it here, in this blog, as we want to educate all our customers about this emergent natural therapy. Funnily enough, cannabis and its derivative products have been used for centuries to treat pain, depression and more!

Medical Cannabis Oil is Historically Good for You

Medical cannabis has already survived a long history – ancient physicians in many parts of the world mixed cannabis into medicines to treat pain and other ailments. Initially, cannabis was reduced to a powder and mixed with wine for consumption! Cannabis oil is the thick, sticky ingredient that is removed from the cannabis leaves and plants. We explain it here – this resin contains numerous chemical compounds called cannabinoids. Most people use or know about the two main cannabinoids:

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – a psychoactive compound prevalent in cannabis that makes the user high; mostly illegal as it is a controlled “drug” in most countries
  • Cannabidiol (CBD) – a non-psychoactive, second most abundant compound found in cannabis, with few side effects; mostly legal, especially as medical cannabis

In the 1970’s, drug companies created synthetic THC as Marinol, a capsule drug. However, most people smoked cannabis because its effects are almost immediate when the smoke is inhaled. In the mid-1900s, medical interest in the use of cannabis began to grow in the West. Cannabis was one of the secret ingredients in several so-called patent medicines. Then more than 280 producers made at least 2 000 cannabis medicines before 1937.

Cannabis Oil and Essential Oils are Good for You

Remember that cannabis oil is an extract, not an essential oil. When we make cannabis oil products, like cannabis oil balms and creams, we add essential oils which have also been used for decades by different cultures to treat health and illness. Essential oils are safer, cheaper and more natural than other medications we buy in pharmacies and have fantastic effects on the human body and mind. Essential oils are antioxidants, anti-depressants, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-stress and stimulating. Blending healing essential oils with healing cannabis oil results in a powerful antidote to pain and disease!

Cannabis oil is good for you – scientists have revealed that despite the slightly addictive qualities of cannabis oil (its potential for abuse and addiction), the therapeutic use of the cannabinoids cannot be ignored. Cannabinoids can treat human illnesses, often with success. THC and CBD work with the body’s endocannabinoid system, an ancient system comprising cannabinoid receptors, endogenous cannabinoids that zone in on these receptors, enzymes that cause changes in the endocannabinoid system and more. Vital endocannabinoids aim to ensure the balance of pleasure, metabolism, moods, mental states, physical states and the processing of pain and sensory information.

South Africa is Recognizing the Healing Benefits of Cannabis Oil

In South Africa, it is now legal to grow, use and own cannabis in the privacy of one’s own home. Maybe more people will start creating cannabis oil at home as this is not too difficult to do. The best extraction method is to use organic coconut oil which is both non-toxic and nutritious. Cannabis oil containing CBD and/or THC can treat nausea and vomiting, insomnia, arthritis, epilepsy seizures, muscle spasms of multiple sclerosis, the pain of fibromyalgia, migraines, heart disease, depression, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. New research suggests that cannabinoids can stop cancer cells from growing into tumours and prevents tumours from spreading. Anecdotal evidence also reveals that many people are using cannabis oil to treat children with autism and ADHD, their pets and their elderly folk.

We encourage you to chat to us about your health requirements and we can point you in the right direction for the best cannabis oil on our shelves!

The good news that cannabis oil is now legal at home in South Africa has caused a stir in the country this week. On Tuesday 18 September, the Constitutional Court ruled that using cannabis in private at home is not a criminal offence any more. Chief Justice Raymond Zondo said that the use, cultivation and possession of cannabis is decriminalised when used privately at home.

Owning Cannabis Oil is Now Legal

Zondo did not clarify the boundaries for what being at home means, nor did he clarify the amount of cannabis a person could use, grow or own. Sections 4(b) and 5(b) of the Drugs Act, and Section 22A(9)(a)(i) of the Medicines Act were declared unconstitutional and invalid because such Acts made it illegal for adults to use or own cannabis in the privacy of their own home, for their own private use.  These acts therefore did not comply with the individual’s right to privacy as embedded in Section 14 of the Constitution.

The World is Waking up to Legalising Cannabis Oil

The South African Parliament now has two years in which to amend these acts and to clarify the boundaries around the use of cannabis in private at home. If privacy extends beyond the home, which is what Zondo said, then how far does this private space extend? What are the boundaries for growing cannabis and using it at home? The police will work with Parliament and lawyers to clarify these points. South Africa is watching as many countries around the world legalise cannabis and its products. Some for medical use only, others for medical and recreational use.

The new law allows anyone to use, grow and own cannabis at home. This includes cannabis products like cannabis oil. In addition, there is now huge potential for the cultivation and manufacturing of hemp products in South Africa. The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sees opportunity in the commercialisation of hemp. South Africans need to be aware that big pharmaceuticals will want a piece of the cannabis pie and this could cut out the rights of the small grower. All South Africans need to stand together to ensure that cannabis is grown and sold locally so that local people benefit.

Get Your Cannabis Oil Legally Today

Meanwhile, a medical cannabis dispensary has already opened its doors in Durban, run by a homeopath and general practitioner. The funder sits on the chair of the KwaZulu-Natal branch of the Cannabis Development Council of SA and said that the doctor first consults with patients before dispensing medical cannabis for their illnesses. He added that the cannabidiol (CBD) was legal in South Africa which makes his dispensary completely above board.

And even more so now that cannabis is legal in private, for use and cultivation and possession. Go ahead and order your cannabis oil from us today!

What is the Legal Update Regarding Cannabis Oil in South Africa?

A good question right now in South Africa: Is cannabis legal? The answer is NO and that is according to the South African Drugs and Drugs Trafficking Act No. 140 of 1993, which lists cannabis under “Undesirable Dependence-Producing Substances”. People are still being caught for possession of cannabis or for being under the influence of cannabis and they are being punished. But others are going ahead with plans to grow cannabis, make medical cannabis products and sell them. There are plans for commercial cultivation of cannabis waiting to be implemented but still people are waiting for finality from the law.

Many people believe that cannabis IS legal in South Africa. But wait, there has been no follow-up since March 2017 when the Western Cape High Court ruled that South Africans could grow and use “dagga” in the privacy of their own homes but that the commercial cultivation of cannabis was still illegal.  There are at least 2 years to wait until the law is actually changed by the legislature. This means that until such time, people can still be arrested for growing, producing and selling cannabis outside of their private homes. There are no licenses to cultivate cannabis legally in South Africa or to use it or trade in it – and this includes the use of medical cannabis for chronic illnesses. Many people have applied to conduct research into industrial cannabis and medical cannabis use but what the country needs is permission to cultivate, produce and sell cannabis legally.

Using Cannabis Oil Products at Work in South Africa

Use Natural Therapy as your top guide for finding cannabis oil in South Africa. Read our blog and contact us for any queries you may have. We also touch on cannabis oil and cannabis oil products in the workplace – how do you manage this? Well, cannabis oil is still illegal in the country so it is natural that some employers are worrying about the use of cannabis products in the work place.  When policies are drawn up concerning cannabis in the workplace, care needs to be taken about drug testing and how employees behave when under the influence of cannabis. There are problems with this regulation as signs of cannabis can be seen in the bloodstream until a week after use. Taking medical cannabis is another ball game and if you have a prescription from your doctor, you are fine.

In addition, there are cannabinoids which make the user high (the psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol or THC) and there are cannabinoids which do not have any side effects (the anti-psychotic cannabidiol or CBD). All of the nearly 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant are very therapeutic and can be some of the best medicines around. It is only THC that changes the mental state of a user and it is therefore the use of this recreational chemical compound that should be managed, instead of all cannabis compounds per se.

The fact remains that cannabis is not legal in South Africa but you can still order your cannabis oil online here at Natural Therapy, especially if you have medical issue that require natural therapy. Meanwhile, South Africa remains on tenterhooks regarding a declaration on whether cannabis is now legal in South Africa. When will the high court make a final decision? Watch this space! Take a look at our cannabis oil products and order yours today.

How do we know that cannabis oil is the best treatment for dementia? We don’t know but we do know that cannabis oil is ONE of the best alternative natural therapies for dementia. Cannabis oil is a gentle approach to a complex disease. Dementia is the umbrella term for numerous symptoms caused by damage to brain cells, and some of these are linked to heart health.

The Best Treatment for Dementia Could Be Cannabis Oil

Dementia covers diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntingdon’s and Pick’s Diseases. All diseases where memory loss and disorientation cause the patient plenty of stress and confusion. Studies have shown that the human endocannabinoid system is linked to diseases of the mind where neurodegeneration is the result of cell damage or death.

Cannabinoids in Cannabis Oil Treat Dementia

Cannabinoid receptors in the brain, central nervous system and immune system are important for cannabis oils as the cannabinoids cling to these receptors where they can positively effect the patient. There are many CB1 receptors in the brain, in the basal ganglia, amygdala, hippocampus and cerebellum. CB2 receptors are spread mainly in the immune system.

Cannabinoids used for medical therapy include cannabidiol (CBD) which tends to cling to CB2 receptors more often, and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which binds to CB1 receptors more often. This is very interesting because THC has been known to assist patients with dementia even though it has psychoactive qualities. THC interacts with CB1 receptors in the hippocampus, relieving some of the symptoms of dementia such as memory loss. CBD was shown to activate CB2 receptors where it relieved symptoms of vascular dementia by improving blood flow to the brain. This allows the brain to get the nourishment it needs and to slow down cell death in the brain.

CBD is the Best Treatment for Dementia

CBD also decreases inflammation in the brain and toxicity as it is a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. We would suggest that cannabis oil is the best treatment for dementia as it slows down memory loss and confusion and other symptoms, allowing the patient a better quality of life. This includes less anxiety and depression and the freedom to be able to still make decisions. Taking heavy pharmaceutical drugs can be detrimental to the health of elderly people, as dementia is associated more with older people. Cannabis oil would therefore be a better treatment for the elderly as it lacks damaging side effects, promotes better sleep, appetite and tranquility.

Effects of Cannabis Oil on Dementia are Positive

Scientists are still gathering evidence regarding the effects of cannabis oil on dementia including Alzheimer’s and other neurocognitive conditions – such as nausea, anorexia, anxiety and depression. Cannabinoids like CBD and THC can possibly alleviate the progression of dementia by protecting brain cells from the activation of microglia. Microglia are the resident macrophage cells in the brain, acting as the first and main form of active immune defense in the central nervous system.

More About Dementia

Dementia is not a specific disease but describes a group of symptoms associated with a decline in memory or other thinking skills – chronic enough to impact on everyday living. The symptoms of dementia vary across types and stages of the diagnosis. The most common affected areas include memory, visual-spatial, language, attention and problem solving. Most types of dementia are slow and progressive. By the time the person shows signs of the disorder, the process in the brain has been happening for a long time. It is possible for a patient to have two types of dementia at the same time. About 10% of people with dementia have what is known as mixed dementia, which is usually a combination of Alzheimer’s disease and another type of dementia, such as frontotemporal dementia or vascular dementia.

If you want to know more about why we think cannabis oil is the best treatment for dementia, send us a message and we will advise accordingly.

What is the difference between cannabis oil and hemp oil I hear you ask? Well, the differences are a few, and simple to understand. Both oils are essential health and immune system boosters. One is mostly a food (hemp) and the other is mostly a medicine (cannabis oil). Hemp oil and cannabis oil are derived from the cannabis plant, Cannabis sativa.

The Differences Between Cannabis and Hemp Oils Can Confuse

This is a very confusing subject so we hope we can clear it up for you now. Hemp oil comes from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant and cannabis oil comes from its leaves and flowers. Hemp oil contains very low levels of cannabidiol (CBD) oil while real cannabis oil contains both CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) oil. Hemp seed oil is packed full of the right balance of omegas 3 and 6, the antioxidant Vitamin E, and minerals including zinc, iron, potassium, magnesium and phosphorous. CBD oil is an alternative therapy used legally in many countries to treat patients suffering from various chronic diseases. CBD is legal as medical cannabis in many parts of the world and is prescribed by doctors now for treating chronic diseases. THC is a psychoactive compound that can make people high – yet is also an effective treatment for health issues. It is not legal in many countries due to its psychotic nature and links to addiction in users.

Check Labels for CBD or Hemp

There is much confusion in the labelling of hemp oils, cannabis oils and cannabinoids and there are differences between all three. Some companies label their hemp oil as CBD oil while others say that their CBD is hemp oil – the layman must then figure out the difference! All three come from the cannabis plant, yes, but they contain varying levels of cannabinoids. Hemp oil, for example, contains less than 0.3% of THC yet very high levels of CBD. It is used in industry to make things from its fibre, and in the health industry which uses its oil as a panacea. If the cannabis contains high levels of THC it is mostly illegal as it makes the user high and can worsen some health issues. It can also be very useful in the treatment of chronic diseases but must be used as part of a certified health plan.

The Difference Between Cannabis Oil and Hemp Oils?

Hemp oil comes from the seeds of the cannabis plant and does not contain as many cannabinoids as medicinal cannabis oils which come from the leaves and flowers. Both oils have proven to be excellent supplements in the treatment of pain, insomnia, anxiety and depression.Cannabis oils can contain a high percentage of THC which causes psychoactive reactions so it is important to read the label carefully when buying your hemp or CBD or cannabis oil. When THC is blended with CBD, when the CBD ratio is higher than the THC, it loses its psychotic qualities and can then be used as a treatment for many chronic conditions.

The best CBD oil will be screened for purity and will be legal for medicinal purposes. Cannabis oil is not legal yet in many countries and must be consumed as part of a legal medical treatment plan – if you have cancer or some other chronic disease. Hemp oil is great to have at home as an all-round health supplement, and is not regulated at all. Make sure you get your cannabis oil from a recognised and reputable source. Contact us at Natural Therapy to find out more about the difference between hemp oil and real cannabis oil. We can also supply you with the products you need.

How Does Arthritis Benefit From Cannabis Balm?

Many people suffering from arthritis want to go the natural route when they heal the pain – they want to stop their reliance on opiates which often have very damaging side effects and can damage the liver, kidneys, stomach lining and mental state of the patient. Many countries are legalising medical cannabis which has proven to be a radical pain killer in its own right. Cannabis oil is packed with cannabinoids, chemical compounds which work in tandem with the body’s innate endocannabinoid system, to ensure a healthy immune system. So, when you take cannabidiol (CBD), you will feel the effects of this calming analgesic in moments. And it has no additives or addictive substances, no side effects whatsoever.

CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant which protects the cells from the invasion of free radicals. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is another cannabinoid with potent healing abilities – it may be psychoactive but when used with CBD, it loses this psychotic quality and can heal pain and inflammation. When you use our cannabis balm, you are using cannabinoids which do not get metabolised by the liver which means there can be no high. The cream goes straight to the heart of the pain in your joints, and voila, you feel the benefits. Get your cannabis balm online today from Natural Therapy!

What is Arthritis?

Pain in the joints is usually caused by inflammation – the body releases chemicals into the bloodstream to protect the joints and often, there is too much inflammation. There are more than 100 different types of arthritis! Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease when the body’s own immune system attacks the lining of the joint capsule known as the synovial membrane. Slowly the cartilage is destroyed, and even bone within the joint. Rheumatoid arthritis also affects the internal organs, and even the eyes. CBD is an inflammation fighting compound, working in tune with the endocannabinoid system to change the way the body deals with inflammation and pain. CBD clings to cannabinoid receptors called CB2 in the joints, assisting these sore areas to heal. During osteoarthritis, the cartilage in the joint endures wear and tear from use and eventually bone is grinding on bone. General symptoms of arthritis include pain, inflammation, stiffness, swelling, reduced mobility in a joint or limb and then, depression.

Risk Factor for Arthritis
  • Obesity – too much weight impacts the joints negatively
  • Sex – females are more prone to arthritis, thanks to their hormonal makeup; men get gout
  • Age – mostly older people get this disease but more children are getting it now thanks to dietary errors
  • Genes – if your family has a history of arthritis, you could also get it
  • Previous Joint Injury – people who exercise a lot or do a lot of sport are prone to joint injuries

Lupus – What is It and How Does CBD Help?

Cannabis oil is packed with beneficial cannabinoids, the most prevalent being cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and treats the terrible inflammation that is characteristic of lupus. CBD can also assist the immune system to calm its abnormal response to lupus which makes it attack its own tissues. Cannabinoids interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to maintain a healthy balance of homeostasis. When lupus strikes, this balance is completely out of kilter and the CBD clings to specific receptors in the body to assist the ECS to return to a normal state of health.

Someone with lupus has an immune system that is overactive and it cannot differentiate between viruses and bacteria, and healthy tissues. Inflammation, pain and damage to many body parts results and the patient starts to feel anxious and depressed. Symptoms include insomnia, weight loss, nausea and vomiting, moodiness, swollen and painful fingers, wrists and hands, and many more. Fortunately, cannabis oil is a wonderful therapy for lupus as it can treat all of these symptoms. CBD is a calming cannabinoid, ideal for anxiety and depression too. There are different forms of lupus including discoid lupus (affects the skin), SLE (affects body internally such as organs), drug-induced lupus (from a bad response to too many prescription drugs), neonatal lupus (the baby gets lupus from its mother at birth). Lupus has flare ups and there are periods of remission.

We can assure you that the side effects of cannabis oil are so minimal that we don’t want to spend too much time talking about them. What we do want to update you about is the positive healing effects of cannabis oil – which are so numerous we simply cannot mention them all in one article. Suffice it to say that you should check up on all medication before you take it, hence this information about the minimal, if existent at all, side effects of cannabis oil. Cannabis oil is a natural therapy derived from the flowers of the cannabis plant and our own cannabis oil products are pure, organic and completely natural. So, we guarantee you that our cannabis oil has no side effects.

Update – Cannabis Oil Has No Side Effects

Cannabis oil contains more than 100 cannabinoids including cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Most cannabis users know that THC has side effects because it is psychoactive – it can make the user feel high and hungry and paranoid and sleepy. But the good news is that when you blend THC with CBD, the result is no side effects. This is because CBD is non-psychotic and cancels out the effects of the THC. The two cannabinoids together create a potent healing blend for most diseases and common conditions of the human body and mind. Remember to check with your doctor before you take cannabis oil, especially if you are already on prescribed medication.

Sometimes CBD can have a small reaction with the medication and it will not be as effective as your doctor promised. In other cases, though, CBD can remove the harsh side effects of the medication, so the user gets the benefit of both the prescribed drugs and the natural cannabis oil. The side effects of chemotherapy, for example, can be relieved by CBD: nausea and vomiting, insomnia, pain and inflammation, lethargy, anxiety and moodiness, lack of appetite and depression.

These are some of the wonderful side effects of cannabis oil:

  • Treats cancer by forcing cancer cells to commit suicide and stops the growth and spread of cancer tumours
  • Benefits acne by calming down the inflammation in the skin and the over-production of oil by the sebaceous glands
  • Provides pain relief by interacting with cannabinoid receptors in the central nervous system
  • Reduces the impacts of neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s
  • Reduces the frequency and intensity of epileptic seizures by interacting with receptors in the brain
  • Treats anxiety by changing how receptors in the brain respond to seratonin

These are some of the minimal side effects of cannabis oil, felt by a few people:

  • Impacts on the metabolism by the liver of other drugs prescribed for certain conditions
  • Dry mouth
  • Sleepiness

We firmly believe that the positive side effects of cannabis oil far outweigh any other side effects. In this update, we hope that you have regained faith in taking cannabis oil for your health! Please contact us for any information.
