Entries are now open for the ADRS National Competition which will be held at the School of Music, Queensland University, on July 27th. Sections: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, Open and Small Ensemble. With over $5,000.00 in cash prizes to be won, this is Australasia’s major double reed event! All competitors will receive a written report from the adjudicators. This is great experience and a chance to meet and hear other oboe and bassoon students from our region. Doublereed-a-Rama 2019 will be happening at the Queensland Conservatorium on May 12th. This is a great opportunity for double reed players at all ages and stages to get together. We hope to see you there!
Last October we were excited to meet up with Udo Heng from Reeds ‘n Stuff in Brisbane and in Melbourne. We welcomed the opportunity to try out all his latest bassoon reed-making equipment. Udo helped us set up a new tip profiler which we are already using on some of our reed models.
Bassoon Blast happened again this year. Big thankyou to the Musson's and all that joined us. It was such a treat getting together again. We want to wish all our double reed friends out there a happy and safe holidays.

Corda Spiritus Chamber Players will perform the Beethoven Septet at 7.30pm on Friday July 3rd in St Paul’s Church, 554 Vulture Street, East Brisbane and at 2pm on Sunday July 5th in the Swigmore Hall, Robert Channon Wines, Bradley Lane, Amiens (outside Stanthorpe).
