Hello Wonderful Room 704 Families,

As a tradition, I create a fun- filled last week of school for our kiddos. Our theme this year is “Beach Time.” Kids will be able to wear school appropriate beach attire and bring their beach towels to lie down on all week long.

I have had parents in the past help me plan, decorate and provide snacks and goodies for the kids the Friday before the last week of school 5/25/18. Goodies and snacks will be distributed throughout the week to make it more fun! If you are interested in helping out please click on the sign-ups below:

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

Mark your calendars now for a week of staff appreciation. I am sure all would agree that Hedenkamp has the very best staff around!  The fun begins Monday, May 7 and continues the entire week.  Let’s show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate all they do!

Below is a suggested list of daily activities for the week to show appreciation for our school Staff. Participation is completely optional.

Monday, May 7: Merci! Shower your teacher and/or staff member with flowers.

Tuesday, May 8: Xiè Xiè! Write your teacher and/or staff member a note telling them how lucky we are to have them!

Wednesday, May 9: Takk! Bring a school supply item for your teacher and/or staff member thanking them for helping our kids be prepared.

Thursday, May 10:  Gracias! Help create a fruit basket by bringing a piece of fruit for your teacher and/or staff member.

Friday, May 11: Grazie! Bring sweet treats for your teacher and/or staff member.

I sent home our last Scholastic Book Order of the year yesterday. PLEASE take a look at the order and see if there are any books to your child’s liking for purchase. Summer reading is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT & it helps our students maintain all of the good reading skills they have accumulated during the school year. Please follow the steps below and take a look at the book orders that were sent home.

You can make orders by filling out the order form. Once the form is filled, return it along with the CASH payment to me. I ask for CASH ONLY because I place orders online with my credit card to ensure quick processing and delivery. Hedenkamp Elementary Campus has joined more than 350 other schools across San Diego & Hawaii – in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients Program to help cancer patients and fund cancer research.

Help the students as they help other kids that are just like Super Heroes, being strong and courageous as they battle cancer:

COIN/CASH/CHECK COLLECTION

  • Each Student will receive ONE individual collection box.
  • Once their box is full, students can bring their individual box to transfer into the large classroom donation box.
  • On Friday, Student Council members will retrieve the classroom boxes and count the coins.
  • Maz will email teachers an excel sheet with the class totals that following Monday.
  • Winning classes will be announced Monday, April 16th
  • Incentives this year are as follows:
