Ah, skin care. Why did I neglect and forsake you during my youth?! Real talk, like many women, I never paid any attention to how I treated my face when I was younger. Sunblock? Ha! Moisturizer? Definitely not. Heck, I rarely even washed my makeup off at night. But now that I’m not exactly a spring chicken anymore, I’ve realized it’s time to up my skin care game and start taking better care of myself. Thankfully, my genes are on my side in this area but I’m all about finding non-invasive ways to maintain a healthy, youthful appearance. Because ain’t nobody got time to be looking haggard, am I right? And, sadly Instagram filters don’t work in real life. So today I’m sharing my current skin care routine in hopes that other 30-somethings might be interested in jumping on the anti-aging bandwagon with me. Step One: Remove Makeup I use Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Towelettes first. They help get my stubborn eyeliner and mascara off but you definitely still need to cleanse after these. Step Two: Cleanse I have been using Dermalogica’s Skin Resurfacing Cleanser and am borderline obsessed. I use it at night with my Clarisonic Mia. I ran out recently,…

I have been on a hella makeup kick lately, y’all. It all started with my sharing What’s in My Makeup Bag and then venturing out into the world of beauty, trying to find what works to make me feel like my best self. I’ve been buying and trying different products recommended to me by friends (one specifically who is a professional make-up artist) and beauty bloggers. Today I’m sharing what I currently have in my makeup arsenal; I use a combination of drugstore and high-end brands. If you’re not following me on Instagram, send me a request with an accompanying DM (so I know to accept your request) to see it in action in my Story Highlights! Face   Maybelline Fit Me Foundation: After over a decade of being dedicated to my trusty MAC StudioFix Powder Plus Foundation, I was finally convinced that my aging skin needed a little something extra. I purchased this after my MUA friend used it on me for a wedding. I like that it has good coverage but isn’t too heavy. My shade is 220. You can find your shade at findation.com as long as you know your shade in at least one other brand. Urban…

Confession: I'm not a beauty blogger and I'm not an expert in makeup. But you probably already knew that. What I am, though, is a soon-to-be 33 year old gal whose makeup routine seems to include more and more steps with each passing year. Yet, I feel like I have less time to spare with each passing year, too. Funny how that works. Gone are the days of slapping on some powder, blush, and lip gloss and walking out the door; this mama needs a little more work than that lately. Despite it all, I sometimes receive very sweet compliments on my skin, brows, makeup, etc. I consider myself a pretty low-maintenance girl so I thought I would share which cosmetics I use as part of my everyday 10 minute (or less) makeup routine; I'm no pro but it works for me. Side Note: I usually add steps/products for special events and photo shoots. Some of my picks may be considered a little pricey for some whereas some products are super cheap. So, it all balances out. Without further ado, here's what's in my makeup bag.

This year will be my first summer at home with my girls and I would be lying if I said I wasn't super excited but kinda nervous at the same time. I mean, what the heck are we going to do all summer? I live in Georgia and in case you haven't heard, let me tell you - it is H-O-T here. They don't call it Hotlanta for nothing (by the way, no one who actually lives here calls in that). I'm originally a FL girl (where it's even hotter) but definitely prefer the comfort of AC inside over the blazing outdoors. My kids, on the other hand, well... that's a different story. Summer for them means one thing: water. We like to set up what we fondly refer to as "Bennett Beach" in our driveway and let the girls loose. The problem with that is they're not old enough to be out there unsupervised, which means I have to sit out there with them. So today I'm going to share what I consider to be a mom's essentials to surviving the summer with kids.

There's a lot of pressure to be productive during naptime these days, isn't there? I remember seeing my mom do chores and whatnot while we we played; watching her at a young age taught me how to keep and manage a home. When I was old enough, she made us help. But these days, moms save up all of the "to-do's" for the short time period during the day when the kids are napping. And on days when the kids don't nap? Forget it. Day over. That's so stressful! Well, I've teamed up with Trefiel to help you take the stress out of naptime and turn it into your own personal paradise. Let's all take some time and relax. It will make us better moms.

Call me vain, but ever since I turned 30, I have become increasingly aware of and concerned about physical aging. It's like one day I looked in the mirror and felt youthful and vibrant and the next day I saw lines and wrinkles forming and found myself actually considering Botox (no, I haven't had any). I've received compliments on my hair and my skin my entire life and, if I'm being honest, am most proud of and happy with those features. To that end, I have a vested interest in taking care of and preserving both. Enter: Arbonne. I recently discovered Arbonne through an amazing independent consultant, Deirdre Sommerkamp, and have been using a number of their products (of my choosing) for just under 30 days now. Intrigued by their non-GMO promise couple with the vast amount of options, I wanted to try a little bit of everything. So, I have been using some hair, bath & body, skincare, makeup, and nutrition products!

Oh, man. I wish I had a dollar for every time I said I was tired. As a working, blogging mom, I can certainly get myself stressed out and wound up pretty often. Sleep isn't something I get enough of and I always feel like I have something hanging over my head that needs to be done. Relaxation isn't something I get to do very often. In fact, it often feels like a fantasy. One morning recently, I putting on my makeup before work and couldn't help but focus on my super dark and deep under-eye circles. I quickly realized that if I feel (and look) this way, lots of other moms just like me must, too. So, I decided to start a blog series highlighting some of my favorite products to help us mamas relax! Just because we don't have time to get to the spa doesn't mean that we can't bring the spa to us, right?!
