Meet my perfect 4th of July fireworks outfit! Comfy, cozy and festive! My sweatshirt is a few years old from Old Navy but I’m rounding up some of my current favorites for you to order and wear just in time for the holiday weekend! Where are you spending the 4th?! I will be up north in Harbor Springs, MI and I can hardly wait!
Introducing Superdown, my new favorite affordable brand at Revolve! My last two Revolve orders have been drawn to this brand and I have loved everything that’s come in. Revolve can get a little pricey so finding a brand that has killer pieces and keeps the cost under $100 was very exciting! Every romper that I’ve listed below is under $70. To shop my picks, simply click on the pictures!
A very special thank you to Lexi Cook for inspiring this post! Family friends are the best kind of friends! Love you!
What to wear to a wedding! Hmmmm! Always always a brain teaser because of course you have to consider what kind of wedding, i.e. black tie vs. casual, outdoor vs. indoor, destination vs. local, ect. While I wish I did, I don’t have the perfect answer for you at this point! With that said, in this post, I am going to share my go to rules and round up appropriate wedding dress options for easy shopping!
To start, my four go to wedding dress rules are as follows:
never ever wear white
modest always trumps risky
simple is safe (ex. navy, black, one simple neutral color)
when in doubt, wear a classic Lilly Pulitzer dress
As for the set I’m featuring above, I completely forgot to photograph the modest version, however, the skirt is adjustable and can be worn much higher up making it a modest set that more so resembles a dress rather than a skirt and cropped top! So, take these pictures lightly, they’re the best I’ve got for this wedding dress round up post heheh!
Now the fun part! Lets shop!
My Exact Set
This post is definitely a work in progress and I will likely be sprucing up the categories later this evening and tonight as well as adding more options! For now, I hope this helps those of you that have some weddings just around the corner!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!!! I am so beyond thankful for all of you and your continued support! As promised, I’ve rounded up my favorite finds from Shopbop. Can you believe Black Friday shopping is already accessible?! Still hard to wrap my mind around it! It’s not even Friday yet!!! Just trying to keep up over here!!! I will continue to get shopping guides up as I am able with updates shared over on my Instagram story (@anna_rittenhouse). My Thanksgiving is on the smaller end this year as we are without my sister, brother-in-law and niece (and puppy niece). They are hosting Thanksgiving in Iowa! As we get older, our traditions change and it’s always a weird adjustment. Sad to be without a few of our favorites but the plus side is that I have a little extra time to “work” (aka online shop) for you all without taking away from the day’s festivities! I hope you all enjoy your day doing whatever it is you do! Most of all, I hope you are surrounded by ones you love! Happy early sale shopping and Happy Happy Thanksgiving! Cheers!
Super excited to share my Black Friday Sale selections with you all! Tonight, I’m sharing my top selections with the highest savings from Nordstrom! Tomorrow, I will continue to share my sale selections, kicking off the day with my ShopBop picks! Stay tuned and happy shopping/savings! The Fall season is well underway and I can hardly believe how quickly it seems to be flying by! The leaves are changing, the temperature is dropping and the days are getting shorter. There’s something so magical about Fall and I think a lot of you all feel the same way! I wanted to share my Fall bucket list with you all in hopes that it inspires you to get out and enjoy the season! In no specific order here is my Fall 2018 Bucket List:
Friday Night Lights
My brother-in-law is the offensive coordinator for Iowa City West in Iowa. My family and I look forward to making our way to Iowa every year to watch a game or two under the lights on a Friday night. It’s always fun to watch him coach and he never fails to make us proud! Blankets, hot chocolate and all of the necessities to stay warm as the temperatures drop into the night, Fall in my family has a direct correlation to football!
Speaking of football, what college team do you cheer for?! Chili, beer, tents and tailgates, is there anything better than a football Saturday?! My Fall Saturdays are typically planned around Michigan State football! #SpartyOn
Robinette’s Apple Hause and Winery
I look forward to going to the apple orchard every year! It takes me back to my childhood and never gets old. We used to go to our local orchard as a family and we would typically make a day of it. We would fill our tummies with cider and donuts, eat apples as quickly as we picked them and take the hayride out to the pumpkin patch. I’m sure many of you had similar family traditions. Whether you’re a local reader or reading from afar, you can make this festive Fall tradition your very own! If you’re not from around here, find an orchard near you! I promise you won’t regret it. This year, I look forward to going to Robinette’s. Next to eating the pumpkin spice donuts, the horse-drawn hayride pulled by a team of Belgian horses is top on my list. The most fall activity of them all, I love being outside on a crispy Fall day!
Go for a Drive
Living in Michigan, I am fortunate enough to experience all four seasons. (Remind me I wrote that in mid-January when I’ve had it with the cold weather and snow hahah!) I look forward to the pretty colors that span this great State every Fall. The trees changing are truly a sight to see. Plan a day trip or head up north and follow the color map as you explore this great State! Head to the Pure Michigan website for color tour information and don’t forget to use the hashtag #FallFilter to share the beautiful sights you’ve found with us all!
Head to the Lake
I know not everyone can do this one but if you’re able, this one is easily number one on my list! I absolutely love going to the lake this time of year. The sky is always so moody and the changing trees that surround the big lake is one of the most breathtaking sights. I promise you will be in complete awe of God’s beautiful creation as you look out, snuggled up in a cozy sweatshirt. Bring a blanket and maybe even a good book and stay for a while. You’ll feel relaxed and replenished after you recharge at the lake.
Pack a Picnic
This one speaks for itself! Find a place that you love and pack a Fall spread to enjoy with friends or a loved one. Enjoy being outside while you still can and enjoy your company without the distractions that can often get in the way when at home.
Walk around and enjoy the beauty of the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture park. Don’t forget to stop by the giant pumpkins on display at Michigan’s Farm Garden inside the park.
Go to the Farmers Market
Head to your local farmers market and pick out some fresh flowers! Bring the outside in and keep your home festive for Fall!
Try a New Brewery
Living in a city that loves craft beer is always fun! Whether you’re into beer or not, head to a brewery, take a beer tour and learn a little bit about the art of craft! Fall beers are my personal favorite so if beer isn’t your go to, a Fall beer might just be a good place to start! Very flavorful and not too heavy. If beer isn’t your thing, not to worry! Most breweries serve cocktails, too! Try a new cocktail and enjoy an afternoon tasting away!
Head to a Coffee Shop
I love to write so this one is a cozy Fall afternoon favorite. Check out a new coffee shop and settle in for a few hours of reading, writing, or just simply relaxing! If you work from home, this is a great one to do to change up an otherwise mundane week! My latest coffee shop discovery for those of you that are local to GR is the Outside Coffee Co. on Wealthy Street. Sit outside with a cozy sweater on and sip a hot beverage. I love that this place allows for outdoor seating even as the temperatures drop! Best part: they just set up igloos that they will heat throughout the Winter! How cool is that?! I am so excited to spend time here both this Fall and this Winter! It’s the cutest little spot, I absolutely love it!
Decorate your Home
Find some festive throw pillows, change out your kitchen towels, light a few Fall scented candles and turn your home into a cozy oasis! Don’t forget to add pumpkins, mums and if your front porch allows, corn stalks to jazz up your exterior! As you pull up to your home and admire the Fall decorations, you’ll be so glad you did! (I wish I had a fireplace mantle to decorate and a front porch but for now, I’ll just be grateful for what I do have! One day! Work hard, pray hard!)
Step on all of the Crunchy Leaves
I will never be too old to go out of my way to step on a crunchy leaf! I look forward to many walks with my dog, Mac, and stepping on all of the crispy leaves we can find! He will likely spend his time chasing them as they blow in the wind. We are bound to make for one awkward looking duo as we stumble around downtown! Oh well!
Whatever this season brings, give thanks for all that you have and all that you are. God will meet you where you are and He is looking out for you both now and forever!

Sartori Cheese #PairsPerfectly with a Girls Night in:
Cozy nights in are my absolute favorite and they’re even better accompanied by good friends and tasty treats. Wine and cheese is always a good idea and selecting different cheeses is a fun way to jazz up an otherwise fairly bland cheese board. For our girls night in, I featured the Merlot BellaVitano, the Balsamic BellaVitano, the Raspberry BellaVitano and lastly, the MontAmore Cheddar. I ultimately diced the cheddar into little cubes to place around the board. I absolutely love cheese so picking a favorite is tough! I suppose if asked to choose, I would pick the Merlot BellaVitano as my current favorite.
My sweet puppy (Mac)atawa, also happens to love cheese! Prepping the board in his presence was like asking him to stare at a new toy but not play with it! He was sooo tempted by just the smell alone. As he watched me prep the cheese platter, I kid you not, he was drooling! Literal drool was streaming out of his mouth! Because I’m weak and I know he loves cheese, I caved and gave him a few little tastes! He was OBSESSED with the parmesan. I kept sneaking him little shaved pieces here and there and I think it’s safe to say, he officially has a new favorite cheese! Sartori cheese not only impressed the girls but it’s even Macatawa approved!
Sartori Cheese #PairsPerfectly with a Picnic in the Park:
I haven’t been as happy as I was in the pictures above in a very long time! There was something so whimsical about the cutesy casual little picnic I had packed and I cannot think of a better way to spend a crisp Fall evening! To make a pretty perfect setting even better, there was live music being played across the way on the well known Blue Bridge downtown Grand Rapids. I love how this city comes to life during ArtPrize. The liveliness is contagious and the atmosphere never fails to trigger a smile.
Aside from being in a place you love, I think the key to a good picnic is trying to focus on being ‘present over perfect’. Enjoying where you are, what you have and who you’re with trumps a pretty cheese board every single time. With that said, I can’t resist a little jazz, so I did indeed haul my festive Fall mums and gords in my picnic basket to bring along! Knowing I had tasty cheese was the greatest icing on the cake and it was an evening that I will cherish for a very long time. Though we snapped a few pictures “for work”, we also got to enjoy. It was such a pretty evening, I was in Midwest Fall heaven! I’m starting to believe that saying: Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life!
Sartori Cheese #PairsPerfectly with Date Night:
As a relatively new cheese board “artist”, I’m constantly playing around with my presentation. Having tasty cheese is the most important but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have pretty cheese and Sartori cheese is pretty! I specifically love the Raspberry and Merlot for presentation. As I work on my domestic skills, I think it’s important to not lose sight in the fun of it. Sure a pretty cheese board is great but a cheese board that caters to your guests is even better in my opinion! My date happens to love candy corn so I sprinkled it throughout to add a little personal touch! Perhaps it gave it a goofy little look but it was such a fun way to surprise my date with a fun touch! The cheese was an absolute hit on this board as well, with the cheddar being the favorite pick for the night.
