Firstly Roxyfet winning at a nice price under Colm Mc’cormack,
Alain Cawley rode Black Kettle closer to singing with his good 2nd to Roxyfet, which was soon followed by Emma winning the last race on Its All About Me.
However racing really does show its highs and lows, one race you are stood at the winners post the next assisting the vet, unfortunately we very sadly had to say goodbye to Eager to Know yesterday after he sustained an injury in the race.
Well done to all the team and all the support from all the owners.
STORMIN NORMAN winning yesterday under a great ride from Becky Smith its just what racing is all about.
Norman was purchased shortly after the passing of Noman Smith, Becky and Gemma’s father.
Friends of Norman all clubbed together to buy Stormin Norman naming themselves the Monday Club which was the usual gathering night at his favorite pub the White Horse in Armley.
The legendary Norman played rugby professionally for Millford wearing number 6 in the white, green and black colours, the colours which were chosen for Stormin Norman to run in.
Two years to the day Norman was laid to rest a coach load of 22 members of the Monday Club all made the journey from Leeds to Mark Rasen to show their support and raise a glass to Norman.
Stormin Norman under Becky Smith wearing the number 6 took the white, green and black colours down to the start in the 5.05pm National Hunt Flat Race, Becky kept Norman prominent throughout the race, taking up the lead in the final furlong to win by a nose.
Not sure if Market Rasen was ready for the erupted explosion which happened coming from the Monday Club screaming them both over the winning post and the whole way back into the winners enclosure.
Norman was definitely one of them cheering his daughter Becky on wearing the number 6 in his rugby team colours all the way.
