I love being a Hunter Valley Family Photographer! This family are fun and so fabulous, and it was such a pleasure to photograph them again. Last time was a couple of years ago at their wedding (with one child and one dog less). Their wedding was at a gorgeous family chapel just outside of Singleton, check out all the loveliness HERE.
This shoot was all about family fun, and playing in that glowing afternoon sunshine. We met at Hermitage Hideaway, which just happens to have perfect bushland surrounds for family portraits! Hermitage Hideaway is a great holiday house for big family getaways in the vineyards- with a beautiful outlook, a big pool and sleeps up to 19 guests. (Thanks so much to James for letting us in for a quick visit!)
The Autumn afternoon of the session was warm and a little windy but the children were a bundle of joy and energy. With a reserved big sister, chatterbox middle child and a little bit wild little brother, it was a blast to capture these memories for them all. And including their new rescue doggo was a great addition too.
The photos below are really lovely to show the different ways the children interact with each parent. I think these will be treasured by each child in years to come.
Beautiful siblings and a walk in the park. With this family of five at Morpeth we even got the dog in there a few times!
This reserve at Morpeth common is a favourite of mine, it is huge area with so many options for photo backgrounds. I go there often but always find a way to to make your portraits unique. It keeps me thinking too! There are the fig trees, the old fences, the alley of trees, the little bridges, plus heaps of long grass (when they don’t mow it).
This family were a pleasure to photograph! Mum is the super talented Rachel from Myrtle & Pepper Fine Chocolates and it was great getting to know her and her family. I loved seeing each little personality shine through the children. The fun interactions between the siblings are so sweet as are cuddles and chats on the rug.
Check out all the cuteness below.
Oh ring-a-rosey is such a classic, kids always love it and it gets fabulous contact between them. These photos below with mum and dad are my favourites, love the girls and guys together!

Super sweet one year old, yummy cake and fun big brother!
This fun studio session to celebrate this little ones first birthday was such a treat. With big brother in tow, the studio made Miss One a bit nervous so it took a while to get into the swing of things. I loved the different clothes mum bought in, so much fun dressing up! The flower crown was just adorable with the frilly pants. I had the ‘One’ onesies made especially for these shoots and love how they look in the shots with the cake.
A few out fit changes later and some cake to sweeten the deal we got some beautiful portraits for the special milestone.
That sunshine and those cheeky smiles!! It was a warm afternoon with the summer sun shining. With a lot of convincing and crazy songs and dancing we got these gorgeous children to come out of their shells. The kids loved the action, so running and swinging and throwing ended up doing the trick to bring those pearly whites out. Which meant a sweaty afternoon for everyone!
This is just family fun at its simplest. I really do love capturing these beautiful moments for families! Makes my heart sing.
I met this beautiful family a few months ago at Walka Water Works Oakhampton. I loved the look they went for with the neutral colours! It worked so well with the bushland background at Walka. Long grass and greenery is my favourite.
The love really shows through in these portraits. Their cuddly interactions are so perfect. Plus Miss 5 smiled the whole time, what a sweetheart! And her little brother finally smiled right at the end of the shoot. That cheeky gummy smile was well worth the wait.
I could not love these photos anymore. Cuddles, cheeky smiles, sister love and those big blues eyes.
This sweet family have been in front of my camera before, and to see the new addition was heartwarming. Check out their beautiful wedding at Paterson HERE.
Photographing them in their home for this session was a delight. The children were comfortable and inquisitive, Miss 6 was more than happy to show me her cheeky side! And little Miss 6 months was so adorable. The fun interactions with all of the family make me smile. I love that you can see the joy in all their faces.
A quick trip to the local park for outside photos was a treat too. So many happy faces.
I love capturing families doing there own thing. Laughing, tickles, bubbles, cuddles and upside down.
I met this beautiful family on a lovely spring morning. We met at Walka Water Works at Oakhamption, because of its many varied backdrops. With a couple of shy girls it was important to make them comfortable and relaxed in my presence. And in front of the camera as well. Just fun interactions with their parents was the way to go. I think it shows their relationship as a family nicely. I love the cuddles black and white shots!
