Usually associated with the Summer, Sunglasses / sun glasses also known in cool English as shades are a form of protective eyewear made and designed mainly to block sun rays and light from damaging or discomforting the eyes.
In the early 20th century, Sunglasses were also known as sun cheaters (the word cheaters then being an English slang term in USA for glasses)
Children spend most of the time in the summer playing out in the sun and being kids and it is for this reason alone that sunglasses should be considered an essential item of kids wear.
Spending long periods of time in the sun can cause serious eye problems. Medical experts advice that wearing sunglasses in the sun protects the wearer from ultraviolet radiation.
Though mostly associated with adults, specifically movie stars and celebrities, who wear them for a different purpose.
We at KDSWR strongly recommend to get your little ones a pair of sunglasses for the only reason being their protection, and for this to be effective the kids sunglasses must have 100% uv protection.
How old can a child be to wear sunglasses? Sunglasses are a recommended for children of all ages. Though as mentioned earlier these sunglasses must be 100% uv protective as using darkened glasses which are not 100% uv protective may do more harm than good. The reason being that dark glasses tend to make the wearer’s eye pupils open up wider thus letting in more uv radiation.
So better no glasses on your little ones than wearing dark glasses for the sake of it. Given that the glasses are made to age size, it is strongly recommended to buy glasses based on age of your child with most major sunglass companies offering very affordable kids sunglasses in various age ranges.
What to look for when buying sunglasses for kids?
Here we are focusing on three main things: protection, protection and protection. As mentioned earlier better no glasses than having dark sun glasses without 100% uv protection.
They can sometimes also function as a visual aid, as variously termed spectacles or glasses exist, featuring lenses that are colored, polarized or darkened.

Something ethnic with a modern twist, inspired and influenced by the celebrity kids – we talk about what is trending in kids’ summer wear this season.
Most children are not too anxious about what they wear. They like their favorite cartoon character printed on the clothes or they like to wear football tees. Children will always benefit from the best trendiest fashions deemed fit by their parents.
“Playing dress-up begins at age five and never truly ends.” – Kate Spade, American Fashion Designer
As kids, we always liked to saunter around with our offbeat clothes and dressing up for special occasions. It is exciting to bring back the light color palettes and the quirky prints back for the hot summers. When it was just fun back then.
Kids wear is arguably a solid business these days. Since summers are the time for kid’s summer holiday and to go outdoors with family and friends, it is the right time to overhaul their wardrobe on a regular basis. Kids grow and clothes don’t.
The team at KDSWR suggests to you what we observe as the latest trends in the kids’ summer wear collection for this coming hot summer and what is there for the tykes to carry?
We realize what impact the fashion can have on the confidence levels of the kids. It is wise to select the summer wardrobe intelligently and make your children stand out yet with comfort and safety as a priority.

For safety and comfort, it goes without saying that it is wiser to select clothing made of natural plant fibers as these breathe easily and are more comfortable. They should easily absorb moisture from the skin allowing for comfort on the beach and on the playground. When it comes to choosing fabrics, we should think cotton, linen, bamboo, jute… and if you can find it… flower of lotus.
Summers are getting hotter every year! Color is an important aspect in Kids wear as it should play a role of mitigating exposure to severe temperatures. At KDSWR we suggest keeping the base colors white or beige as these light colors will reflect light and heat from your little ones.
This is a safe top pick for every summer. The differentiating point of this summer’s floral is the light color palettes mixed with the ruffles. Especially the faded pink and soft pastels. This season there is evidence of floral patterns being more tactile or tangible in form of embroidery or playful collage floral patterns.
While the bling bling shiny gold and silver tones are on trend today, vibrant colors with an illuminating sheen are also trending in the kids’ summer wear. Simple details like a shiny brooch on the dress, gold buckles on the belts, shiny sneakers or shoe laces and sparkling rose gold bags and backpacks, make your kid stand out and shine brighter in the latest fashion summer trend for kids.
Sportswear in kids’ fashion is also having a spin. Value-added textiles are rising but it comes in the form of trainers. For girls, floral printed trainers with contrasting laces are trending. It is a quirky way to stand out and make your kid comfortable at the same time.
Kids fashion should be more about graphic prints or else there won’t be any difference in an adult fashion and kids wear. The combination of bright hues and graphic prints is appropriate for the young ones. It adds special elements to your kids’ wardrobe.
Anything can go out of fashion in the next season, but denim is evergreen. It is Timeless in the Kids wear wardrobe. It is always fashionable whether in adults or in kids. It is the most liked fashion piece and it is not limited to just jackets and jeans. You can find denim shoes, denim dresses, denim shirts or even denim earring for that matter if you searched.
One thing while buying fashion for your young ones is that you should not limit the choices. Removes the stereotypes of dressing. There has been a gradual shift in fashion to being gender neutral. Today, both parents and fashionistas are avoiding “pink color for girls and blue for boy” approach. Remember that in the middle of the 20th century Pink used to be a Boys color and Blue used to be a girls color. Fashion moves in cycles.
With the rising awareness about the conservation of nature, fashionistas and young ones are shifting to organic and natural fabrics. 2019 comes with the trend of using khaki, organic cotton, jute or bamboo fabric for kids wear and accessories.
Analyzing the trends, we should admit that a lot has changed. The industry has become dynamic with changing perspective. Fashion is all about creativity and no risks means no fun.
What else for the kid’s summer holiday? Let’s have a look at what brands are coming up with this season. Fashion brands for the little ones are coming up with the primary colors instead of the pre-washed colors, pastels, and pinks.
As far as the fabric is concerned, you can find a lot of cotton and linen collection in the stores. Organic fashion is in demand and is the need of the hour. You can choose from the organic and natural collection for your children and yet their wardrobe could look stylish. Though this may appear basic, accessories like cool coloured bold sunglasses and sandals accentuate the basic tones of the fabric especially if they are excellently crafted.
Another important aspect of kid’s summer wear is how comfortable the clothes are. The clothes can be trendy, but they should also be comfortable for your children. Putting on a heavy layered dress in the summer heat can lead to uneasiness for your kid. It is important to dress your young one according to the occasion. As mentioned earlier, think plant based fabrics for summer and animal fabrics for winter.
Whatever the trend is, it is crucial to dress up your child in the best of what is easy to carry for them. After all, the clothes should reflect the personality of your kids.

Summer is finally here. It is the time of the year that the kids want to go out and play the most. If you’re a Parent and are looking for a pair of kids sunglasses or simply want to check that they are not wearing the wrong ones – here is the KDSWR guide to getting a pair of sunglasses that will enhance your cute little ones face shape.
It goes without saying that safety should be paramount and the first step in making any purchase. Ultra Violet protection or UV protection shades are a very good starting point. Take advantage of larger glass lenses which get most of the eyes covered, also design and materials used for the glasses should be playground proof, plastic is better than glass for safety.
STYLING OF SUNGLASSES
This will be all about determining the Shape of your Kids Face.
Kids faces grow and change very quickly and determining the shape of the face can be challenging. A simple way to do this is by pulling hair backwards away from the face and once the cute face is completely exposed, find the longest line on the face, is it horizontal? Or vertical?
If the longest line of the face is horizontal (ear to ear), then your kid will tend to have a rounder face.
If on the other hand the longest line is vertical (chin to top of head) then your kid will tend to have an oval face.
If your kids chin comes to one point, then your cute little one will have a heart shaped face.
This is the most common of all faces in kids around the world. This is characterized by the kid having a full jolly looking face with widest point at the cheeks and ears.
A rounder face, one whose width at the cheeks is about the same as its length, will generally be have softer features – so your glasses should add angles. It’s best to go for shades with sharper edges as well as a lens that tapers inwards slightly as this will visually elongate your kids face.
The Oval Face
This face shape on kids is very elegant and versatile in that it can accommodate almost any shape of sunglasses. An oblong face is one which is long, with a pronounced chin and forehead at pretty much the same width. What you want to aim for when selecting sunglasses is reducing length, done by opting for shades that add the illusion of a slightly broader forehead – go for something with detailing that draws attention away, anything bold will also suit this shape of face.
The Sunglasses will block only rays that come directly through the lenses. It is relevant to note that the skin around the eyes remains vulnerable to rays entering from the sides or from the top, or reflected upwards off snow, sand and even water.
We suggest kids go out to play well clothed and accessorized with a wide-brimmed hat as a backup.
This should help in blocking out many rays from above and even from the sides, while also shielding the face and neck.
Another suggestion is for kids to seek seek a shade during the sun’s most intense hours, 10 a.m. in the morning to 4 p.m in the afternoon.
