Loved, loved, LOVED this session so very much!!! As soon as little Maeve was carried into the studio by her mama i’m sure she stole a little bit of my heart, with the thickest head of dark almost black hair & the chubbiest cheeks that was it – i was HOOKED! Maeve was a total sweetheart for her newborn photoshoot, her mama had previously hinted that she wasn’t the most sleepy baby, so i was fully prepped for a VERY awake tricky baby. But she didn’t open her eyes once at me!! She was amazing! She did every single pose absolutely perfectly, we even did a couple of poses twice! & she let me try out the new heart silhouette pose – obsessed! Mama & papa chose the rustic wood tones with maroons, deep inky blues & raspberry pinks, the resulting gallery is stunningly beautiful, girlie yet with quite a cool contemporary twist with the warm blue tones.
Her parents, both from Brisbane were so cool too, such a fun family, i legit could have just hung out with them all day, it really was the best session. When i suggested parent images, they were so up for it, i was thrilled as i know these parent images will be so precious to little Maeve when she grows up & looks back to see just how much she was loved by her smitten parents.
They actually just left after attending for their viewing appointment & Maeve was rocking a onesie which said “Happy Little Vegemite!”… Adorable! We got chatting & i mentioned to them that the parent image where Maeve is holding her parents hands (one hand of mama & one of daddy), on the bigger image in the gallery, you can see ever so faintly a tiny line of a scar on daddys forearm. In photoshoot i thought it was a hair so zoomed in to edit it, only to realise it was a tiny scar… The story goes that this hairline scar was actually caused by a possum (say what?!!!) scratching daddy when he startled it having a snooze in the sunshine on top of their shed back home in Oz. I mean could they BE any more Australian?! Absolutely LOVE it!
Little miss Sophias mama chose a cat theme for her baby girls first birthday photoshoot, cats mixed with pastels & sparkles. So i set about designing the set, now anyone who knows me knows im a CRAZY dog lady. Dogs are totally my thing. So designing a cat themed Cake Smash set concerned me a little, i was totally worried i wouldn’t pull it off – but i absolutely love that each & every client challenges me & my creative juices. Having said all that, im legit OBSESSED with how this set turned out, i absolutely LOVE it! So much so, im certain one of these images will be proudly hung in the new studio space. Having known mama loosely though my old job as a Midwife i was almost 99% certain she would choose a unicorn theme for her daughters photo shoot, so she certainly surprised me!
Little Sophia was a doll for her Cake Smash photoshoot, she wasn’t yet crawling or walking so she was super chilled out & just hung out on the set munching very happily on her cake. Man she loved that cake! At one point she even had two big handfuls of it, happily chomping away on each side alternatively. We were all singing nursery rhymes, making silly noises to make her laugh but mama had the trump card… her animal noises were out of this world, like legit i thought at one point i had an gorilla in the studio with us – first class effort there thats for sure! But it all totally worked, i mean just look at this stunning collection of images. this isn’t even all of them! Loved her <3
Could not have loved this little ones Newborn Session more, i had also recently photographed Caspers big brother for his 1st birthday Cake Smash & Splash photoshoot only a couple of months ago. So i was so excited to meet the newest arrival to this sweet family! Little Casper was AMAZING for his baby photoshoot with me, he did every pose like a pro & barely woke up at all! Mama & papa chose the prettiest of colours for their little boys newborn session, consisting of navy, mustard, greys & rustic earth tones & the resulting images are utterly beautiful & will fit perfectly with big brothers Cake Smash images which were navy & silver with a star filled night sky theme. Who by the way totally aced his big brother role for his sibling images, only being 14 months old himself it could easily have gone one way or another, but he was a little diamond & just look how adorable they both look together!… I already know I cant wait to meet Casper & his family for his birthday celebrations in a years time!
Absolutely LOVED this little mans newborn photoshoot, he was 4 weeks old which is a little older than i would usually do newborn sessions but little Archie was a last minute booking so we got him in as soon as we could. But i mean, i just adored his session, he gave me the most wonderful & perfect mix of eyes wide open & fast asleep. Im so happy we could capture these precious memories for his adorable parents. His mama chose the prettiest shades of baby blue, soft butter yellows & pretty mints for her baby boys session, capturing the most perfect spring time/boy palette. OBSESSED <3
Loved this little sweeties session so much, at only 8 months old she was just perfect for me, showing off those beautiful big eyes she rocked every single outfit her mama chose for her to wear from the Honey Pie Photography wardrobe. Little Sitter sessions traditionally last around 60-90 mins as any longer than this & little ones get tired & over stimulated, little Faye did so good within our time limits & i just know these beautiful & timeless baby photos will be displayed so very proudly for many years to come in the family home – it was an absolute pleasure working with this family to capture these memories.
Its literally been an absolute pleasure to photograph this little one as a tiny Newborn, again at 8 months old & lastly for her 1st birthday Cake Smash & Splash photoshoot, i couldn’t have asked for a nicer family. Its been such an honour to photograph this little lady & capture some beautiful memories which i know for sure will be proudly hung & displayed in their family home for so many years to come. It almost feels like the end of an era sometimes when we do the Cake Smash photoshoot, as its almost the final meeting & almost time to say goodbye. But this little lady made the experience of this photoshoot utterly hilarious. She was covered in purple icing & she had an absolute ball doing it – we definitely went out with a bang! This was a favourite image from the session <3
I first met this utterly adorable family of 4 when Cassidys big brother had his first birthday Cake Smash & Splash with me, so when they contacted me to let me know they were expecting again & i was over the moon for them & couldn’t wait to meet their newest arrival! Little Cassidy did not disappoint, she was a total rock star for her session with me, she gave me the most amazing mix of super sleepy poses with a touch of wide eyed looks. Her gallery is GORGEOUS. Her mama chose the prettiest combination of peaches, pale powder pinks & creams for her baby girls newborn photo shoot & the result is timeless & girlie perfection!
Little Nimsi was a dream for her Cake Smash & Splash photoshoot with me, she such a teeny tiny little poppet but so so adorable & full of cuteness. One of my favourite images from the whole gallery is during the portrait portrait of the session where she must have felt a little unsure & was sucking her thumb for comfort – one day her parents will look back on this image & wonder where their little girl went & remember those days when she sucked her thumb as a baby. But the cake, boy she LOVED her cake! she dove straight in there, happily munching away on the buttercream icing & licking her fingers as she went, she was a total dream to work with & i loved spending a morning with this sweet family.
I first met little miss Lilly when she was still cooking in her mamas belly, i’ve thoroughly enjoying working with this sweet family through their little girls 1st year, where together, we’ve captured the most beautiful memories of their baby girl. Lillys mama chose the pretty colour scheme of lilac & silver/sparkles for her baby girls 1st birthday Cake Smash & Splash photoshoot, she didn’t tell daddy the theme until they all arrived at the studio & he was thrilled – truly a family of magpies who love all things sparkly!… My kind of people!
Lilly is super tall for her age & i think she looks so much older than 1 year, & boy does she have the personality to match. She was hilarious for her Cake Smash session, both myself & her parents were going loopy, singing dancing & all sorts to try to coax some smiles out of her but nope, she preferred just to chill out with her cake & play with it & nibble it, she wasn’t interested in us at that point. But she gave us the prettiest smiles during her portrait & bath images, a girls gotta concentrate when she’s eating cake i guess!
Cassian & his parents were a total hoot for their newborn session, i loved every moment of working with this sweet family to capture these timeless images of their beautiful baby boy. Little Cassian was just 13 days old when he attended for his Newborn Photo Shoot with me at Honey Pie Photography & his parents chose white & pale grey for their little boys session. The resulting gallery is the most beautiful collage of classic & timeless images that i just know will be cherished for so many years to come.
It was an absolute pleasure meeting & working with this family & i cant wait to see this little guy again next year for his 1st birthday Cake Smash & Splash session.
