As someone who has a sensitive skin, I am always looking for natural and plant-based products. Sadly, most of the available products in the supermarket today use harsh chemicals. It is making my skin dry and flaky.
And if you’ve been following me for awhile now, you’d also notice that I’m also using plant-based products on Audrey; whether it’s her bath soap, insect repellent, bottle cleaner, laundry detergent, surface cleaner and so much more. So when I was given the chance to try out Nimble Babies (Travel Cleaning Collection), I was more than willing to give it a try.
AND THEY HAD ME AT MY FIRST USE!
Nimble Babiesis a UK brand that was founded in 2014 by Von Sy. He used to work as a chemist for one of the leading consumer products companies. When his niece was born, he was shocked to see that baby products are made with harsh chemicals. That’s when he decided to create plant-based products that are safe for babies.
Today, the brand is finally available in the Philippines through Ms. Candice Fong. As a parent herself, she knows that it is really a struggle to simultaneously …work …care for your household …care for your baby and look after his/her needs (including bathing them, cleaning their bottles etc.) …look for genuine all-natural products which we can safely use on our baby
Nimble Babies was her answer. Ever since then, their users have attested that their products are safe and efficient. It saved their time from tending the needs of their baby to actually spend a time with them.
You can see all their products here. But on this post I’ll talk about their Travel Cleaning Collection. It comes with 3 products:
Nimble Milk Buster 60ml
Nimble Laundry Lover 100ml
Nimble Sticky Stopper 60 ml
NIMBLE MILK BUSTER
BABY BOTTLE CLEANER
Ingredients: Alkyl Polyglucoside, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Gluconate, Citric Acid. Others: Water and Phenoxyethanol.
It may look complicated but those ingredients are derived from sugar, amino acids and coconuts, which are known to be safe cleaning materials. Base on clinical tests, the PH level of this product is as close to water.
How does it work?
Brush & Rinse OR shake shake
How long will the bottle last? According to them one bottle will last for two months of regular use. I have a 60ml bottle; I’ll let you know if how long this product will last with me. How is this different from regular dish washing liquids? This product was developed to detach milk fat and proteins. While regular dish washing liquids are designed to fight food grease. Its natural ingredients also absorbed and get rid of that milk odor; not unlike the regular dish washing liquids that masked the odor with synthetic fragrance. Will it work with breast milk and formula milk? Nimble Babies claims that this product works on different types of milk. I’ve tested it on my pumped breast milk and formula milk and I got the same result!
Here is Audrey’s used milk bottle. It’s cloudy and has a strong milky smell.
Add 1 oz of water
Spray the Nimble Babies Milk Buster 2x
Brush the bottle. I also sprayed and brushed the teat and bottle cap. Then rinse with water.
Now they’re all set
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
At first I’m a bit skeptic if this product will work. It does not have any fragrance. It also does not bubble when I was brushing the bottle. But after rinsing it, I was amazed! Audrey’s feeding bottle is squeaky clean again. It does not smell milky too.
I have used this when we go out. There’s no need to bring dish washing liquid and bottle brush anymore.
Kare-Kare is another popular Pinoy stew dish made from thick savory peanut sauce. It looks complicated to prepare but no, this is actually an easy dish. On this recipe, I will be using crispy bacon strips as the main ingredient.

Pork Belly Strips (This is available on all supermarket meat section)
I’m new to this “mommy world”. At first everything is overwhelming but as I go along, I am learning to love and embrace this new chapter in my life. I didn’t know that this “mommy world” has a strong and big mommy community. They regularly gather and support one another, isn’t it amazing?
Yesterday I joined in one of the most anticipated gathering of this community – Momzilla! This is organized by Think Pink Events. As a first timer, I felt comfortable and well taken care of. They have considered all our needs as a mom and made our visit as pleasant as possible.
If you’re thinking to join in their future fairs, here are the things that you might also enjoyed.
FREE PARENTING CLASS BY THE PARENTING EMPORIUM
The Parenting Emporium is a parenting company that creates a better parenting community thru educational workshops or classes. This is the reason why I was enticed to join in this fair. I signed up for their “Understanding and Supporting Your Child’s Growing Brain”. The talk is facilitated by Dra. Angel Dy. The discussion is straightforward and very informative. She talked about the basic parts and functions of brain and how these affects brain growth and development. She also included the 5Rs that we can use to support our baby’s healthy brain growth and development. She’s very accommodating and even answered Dee’s last minute question after the class.
BREASTFEEDING AND CHANGING AREA
I enjoyed lounging inside their Breastfeeding and Changing area. There were goodies and testers inside.
Lactation goodies from Ava’s Kitchen, Lactation Treats Ph and Sugar Sensation Ph
Breastfeeding Tea by HerBilogyPh
Disposable cleaning tools from Baby Moby Ph and Cycles Baby Ph
Cleaning Soaps from Human Nature, Cradle Natural, Nature to Nurture Ph and Tiny Buds Baby
Oil Diffuser from The Essential Queen
Diapers from SweetBaby Dry
Sterilizer from Upang Ph
Room sterilization and Purifier from UV Care
FREE PLAY ALL DAY
Since Audrey is still small, she cannot yet appreciate a big play area. But I noticed that the other kids were really enjoying the free play. Their mommies had experience a worry-free shopping because their kids get busy playing.
Bouncy House by Caleb’s Inplaytafun
Gym & Ball Pit by Fun Nest
Adventure Zone by Strider Philippines
Sensory & Pretend Play by Won of a Kind.
EXCLUSIVE DEALS AND DISCOUNTS
I didn’t have any plans to purchase anything, I just want to window shop. BUT I also have a mental note of the things I wanted to check out. Dee and Audrey stayed on the activity area while I roamed around. There were so many good deals and discounts that day. The promodisers were pleasant to speak with. They informed me the benefits of their products without any pressure of buying it. I was delighted to get know few new brands and their products. In the end, I purchased more than what I planned plus I receive many freebies.
FREE PHOTO BY COCOON STUDIO
On the entrance, there’s a well-thought-out photo area designed by Design Choose Days. The impressive photographers of Cocoon Studio will take your family pictures. Sadly, the photographer was on break when we got there.
FREE ICE CREAM BY THE ASIAN PARENT
On the entrance too, there’s an ice cream cart. They’ll ask you to download Asian Parent app and you’ll get a free ice cream. Good thing I already had long long before.
Now my mini-haul! I mentioned earlier that I did not plan to buy anything. I just want to window shop and check out the participating brands. My strategy (and what works for me) is I wait for mom sales online then I hoard. So I really don’t need anything because I have many stocks on our home.
Check out my #momzillafinds below:
TINY BUDS RICE BABY POWDER
I noticed that Audrey has few prickly heat rashes on her neck. I asked my mom friends thru IG stories and almost all of them recommended this. We are going to try this and will post a review soon!
MORRISON STRETCH MARK LOTION
Even though I’m proud of my battle scars since those have brought Audrey in our lives. Still I wanted to try if this product really works. Ate said that it will lighten the marks after 3 weeks. Let’s see. I am documenting my journey. Hopefully, I’ll get a positive result.
Playful is a local/Filipino brand that I’ve been checking out. The promodiser showed me how thick and soft their wipes are. I was amazed on how it really is. The quality looks good and it’s affordable.
ANKOU AIR TIGHT MILK CONTAINER
I’ve been checking out this product online. Most of the online stores are shipping this from overseas and I have to wait for a month before I receive it. I’m glad I saw this in the fair.
This is our choice of dishwashing liquid. They were 15 pesos off that day plus I got a Cusina dish washing liquid for free. Check out my review here.
Audrey is now on the teething stage. These colorful teething bracelets hopefully can help her sooth her sore and itchy gums.
I didn’t know that mom fairs can be this fun. I’m happy that my first mom fair is Momzilla. I am now looking forward to join in future mom fairs to ..attend parenting classes ..get to know new brands ..purchase and try new products And probably to meet new mom friends.
How about you? Have you ever been to mommy fairs before?
A few months before our little bundle of joy was born, Dee and I decided to have a mini BABYMOON (Honeymoon before the baby arrives). We planned to spend a night in any lavish hotel around Metro Manila. We decided to splurge a little because this will be our last staycation before I pop!
There are many hotel options in Metro Manila but Discovery Primeastands out for its one-of-a-kind service and hospitality. Since we wanted to get pampered and have a relaxing night, this is a perfect venue for our babymoon.
Discovery Primea is one of the newest hotels in Makati. It’s situated along Ayala Avenue and can be easily recognized since it’s a tall yellow/mustard building right infront of Glorietta. And since it’s near shopping centers, we had our lunch first at Lorenzo’s Way in Greenbelt.
We arrived at Discovery Primea around 1:30 PM. Check in was a breeze and we did not wait for too long. In less than 10 minutes, we were already inside our room!
The Room: Business Flat
Even though we wanted to splurge a little, we still booked their most affordable room – Business Flat. This maybe the smallest room but it is just right for the two of us (three rather). I was expecting a little cramped room but it is huge (40 sqm) and has everything that we might be needing all throughout our stay.
We were warmly welcomed with sweet platters – a mini cake and brownies.
There are two things that I love the most during our stay – the bed and the bathtub.
The bed is so comfy. It just made us snuggle all throughout our stay. Then, the bath tub – okay I may be biased but I’m a sucker for bath tubs. I enjoyed an hour or two in the bath tub. I also purchase bath bomb beforehand because you know #forthegram.
We started our next day with sumptuous buffet breakfast. If you’ve been following our travel blog, you’ll probably know that Dee and I love to have our breakfast as early as 6 AM.
Breakfast at Discovery Primea is served at Tapenade located on the ground floor. Since we started our day extra early, the restaurant is not jam packed.
There are different stations of food choices.
• Coffee and Tea Bar
• Salad Bar
• Breads, Pancakes and Hash Browns
• Cold Cuts
• Fruits & Yogurts
• Filipino Breakfast: Congee, Rice, Scramble Egg, Longaniza, Bangus, Ham, Adobo and Beef Tapa
After our satisfying meal, we decided to take a plunge into their pool. They have 2 separate pool areas – one for their residential owners and the other one for their hotel guests.
What else do I found impressive – is the way they aim to personalize your stay according to your need.
If you have a kid or baby with you – they can arrange a nanny service and they also have different set of amenities like bath robes, slippers etc. You can also request for cribs, cots and roll away beds.
They offer in-house services: beauty salon, florist, notary public and seamstress (for minor garment repairs).
Amenities like gym and chapel are open for 24 hours.
You can also request to change your bedding to hypoallergenic and your pillows to fiberfill, memory, bolster or body fills. (We didn’t request to change ours because we are already satisfied with our pillow and bedding.)
A handy smart phone is conveniently available in your room. This is perfect for tourist without a local phone. You can use this phone to make local mobile calls and mobile browsing.
Since this is a business hotel, they are also offering complimentary shoe shine.
Lastly, luggage assistance (We have used this service because after we check out, we decided to have our lunch at Sentro 1771 in Greenbelt. We simply left our luggage on their concierge and came back after an hour or two.)
Facilities according to their website
• Complimentary use of handy smartphone
• Complimentary high-speed Internet access for multiple devices
• Nespresso machine
• PressReader: digital access to over 3,500 newspapers and magazines worldwide

Alongside with Adobo, Paksiw na Pata is another popular soy-based stew. What makes it different from adobo is the only kind meat that you can use on this dish is pork shank. It is made from the usual soy-vinegar mix with brown sugar, dried banana blossoms, whole peppercorns and dried bayleaf. I also added pineapple tidbits to make this dish more interesting.
CHECK OUT THE RECIPE BELOW
Pork shank (Pata slices are readily available on the market but you can also get a whole leg and have it cut according to you preference)
Dried Bay Leaf
Dried Banana Blossoms
Pineapple Chunks or Tidbits
I did not put any measurements because I cook base on instinct.
Feel free to adjust the ingredients according to your preference.
1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and dried bay leaf 2. Add Pork Shank and marinate for 1 hour or longer 3. Heat Casserole 4. Add oil and saute garlic and onion 5. Few weeks ago, I was on my way to Robinsons Cainta and I saw a newly opened store “SMR” along A. Bonifacio Avenue. I was curious and decided to check it out.
Upon entering the store, I was surprised that this store carries many imported chocolates. I checked few chocolate bars and was astonished to see that its price is cheaper than supermarket.
I bought 4 goodies that day: Big Rolls, Hershey’s Miniatures Classic Bag, Butterfingers in pouch and Dark Toblerone. When I got home, I was excited to tell Dee my recent discovery.
Dee is a chocoholic. He can’t resist a good chocolate bar. While I, on the other hand, am not. This makes us a good match. We complement each other.
He wanted to see the store for himself. So after Audrey’s routine check-up, we went to SMR. His first visit was a different story.
The moment he stepped in the store, his mood was uplifted and he got little excited. He looked like a kid inside a chocolate haven.
Check out our loot below:
SMR is a popular store that offers affordable imported chocolates. Currently, they have 16 branches (Cainta is their main store) and will have 23 more branches (4 in Luzon and 19 in Visayas) this year.
If you are interested to resell their goodies, you can directly contact them for more information. See contact details below.
You can also check out their price list here or this.
HOW TO GET THERE
Cainta (Main Store) – If you’ll commute – ride a jeepney that’s bound to Robinson’s Cainta. Walk along A. Bonifacio Avenue, you’ll pass by Puregold Cainta then Hanson Apartelle.
Pork Tonkatsu is a Japanese dish made from deep-fried pork cutlet with breading. Another easy to make dish for your family.
CHECK OUT THE RECIPE BELOW
1/4 kilo of Pork Cutlet
Salt & Pepper
Oil for frying
FOR TONKATSU SAUCE
1. In a bowl, put in the pork cutlet and add a dash of salt and pepper. Marinate for 15 minutes 2. After marinating, coat the meat with flour, then egg wash then finally bread crumbs 3. Once you are done coating, put them inside the refrigerator. This will help the coating firmly stick on the meat 4. While waiting you can now prepare the Tonkatsu sauce – Mix the oyster sauce and tomato catsup on a bowl. Add a little bit of sugar. Taste test. 5. Heat the pan and add oil 6. Fry the pork until golden brown. Do it on the other side too.
I would love to hear from you!
