🍉 Low calorie protein shake. 🍉 While I prefer not drinking my calories, I can make an exception when I can keep the calorie to protein ratio low. Plus, it’s summer, and this is so refreshing! (I used three cups fresh watermelon) This recipe made two, 12 ounce glasses! For 12 ounces 91 calories 8 g protein 13 g carbs 1 g fat […]

Stick to your weight loss goals, even while camping! These 100 calorie S’mores is a new and delicious way to enjoy dessert in the outdoors. At my last trip to Girls camp for my church, we decided to have s’mores in an ice cream cone, rather than traditional s’mores. I loved this idea for a few reasons. We didn’t have marshmallow roasting sticks for 32 teenage girls. It is less messy! Graham crackers and chocolate bars can get expensive. And, it was a new idea and something the girls hadn’t tried before. All you have to do to make these […]

It might seem counter-intuitive, but it’s easier to perform a health habit every single day, than sporadically. This is known as a health habit streak! You might surprise yourself by doing everything you can to not ruin the streak or break the chain. When you aren’t paying attention, you may not realize the portion creep that causes you to gain weight. You can assess through a food journal after a meal with the following questions, or come up with your own criteria:  • What food did you eat and in what quantities?  • What was my mood during the meal, immediately following the meal, […]

But next time, before you decide to indulge, ask yourself these 5 questions first! I listened to books about sugar being addictive, I subscribed to podcasts, I read articles, and I was convinced that if I simply eliminated sugar, I would never overeat again!
