GROVIT BLACK FRIDAY BEST FITNESS AND RECOVERY PRODUCTS

Exercising is not always about what or why we exercise.  It is also about how we perform the exercises and how we recover from them.  Planning and preparation are a part of everyday life. When we embark on our fitness regime, especially those new to exercising, it is crucial to adopt the rituals for developing your muscles to join forces in preparation for your daily activities in whatever environment you are in – home, work, sport or other.  To prepare for our best Black Friday purchases, have a look at the great fitness and recovery products to support you on your journey!

Take, for example, doing squats using the resistance bands on the Grovit online store.  The resistance bands support you in maintaining a good form while you do your squats, especially the wider range of muscles you would activate by using your own body weight – no shortcuts here!

Another way of keeping fit is strength training which has been designed to enhance your muscular strength and endurance, to burn excess body fat, and overall, to provide physical, mental and emotional wellbeing benefits.  The Grovit horizontal chin-up bar supports up to 100KG and are a great way to strengthen the latissimus dorsi which is the largest muscle in the upper body.

The wooden exercise gymnastic rings in our Grovit online store are another way to boost that strength and develop more stability because you must learn to stabilise the rings while at the same time keeping your body steady.  It takes strength, determination, concentration and practice, but well worth the effort!

The Grovit high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a technique where you give it all you’ve got through quick, intense blasts of exercise followed by short recovery periods.  HIIT keeps your heart rate up while burning fat or calories in less time and is fantastic for developing strength and endurance in the lower body, hamstrings and hip flexors.

We all know what it feels like to have those stiff muscles or even muscles you didn’t know existed before the workout!  The benefits of recovery are pivotal to your body and your motivation to continue your journey.

Using our Grovit Foam Rollers is sort of like giving yourself a deep tissue massage. Rolling over the different parts of your body helps to break down adhesions in your muscles and connective tissue, increasing the blood flow to your muscles and speeding up the healing and recovery.  Grovit has a selection of hollow, high density, trigger point, and EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) hard-wearing firm heat-sealed foam rollers. Some people may ask, ‘why do I have to exercise’?  It’s better to find an alternate question such as ‘why I want to exercise’?  Some responses may be to look better, to feel good, to have more confidence, to reduce injuries, to release some unwanted ‘padding’ around the body, etc.

In the good old days, physical exertion was a part of everyday living. The washing machine wasn’t automatic – it was more than likely needing to ‘use your arms’, ‘bending/lifting’, and then walking a distance to the outside clothes line where you had to stretch up to begin pegging the clothes.  No ‘out of the automatic washing machine and into the automatic dryer’! House-cleaning took more physical effort – no ‘mod-cons’ in those days.

People worked physically hard in fields and other work places. By the time evening came, they had been through a variety of physical ‘workouts’!

Today we have so many gadgets and mod cons that our lifestyles, for some, have become more sedentary.  So, it becomes a case that a greater number of people think or feel they don’t need physical activity unless they make a choice to want to exercise. Rather than getting bogged down with your workout choices, just start by keeping the body moving in some way, shape or form.  Your workout choices will emerge regardless!

If all you can manage is walking, then walk with good shoes, grab a fitness tracker, have a good quality water bottle, cap, and breathable/cotton clothing.  If you want to exercise at home, then grab a yoga mat, some resistance bands, abdominal wheel, cross fit jump rope, etc.

Currently, even with all the mod cons, people are experiencing much more stressful lifestyles.  We are all being encouraged to exercise, eat better, drink more water, have more restorative sleep, reduce alcohol, quit smoking, etc. Even our governments have created ‘.org websites’ for the general public to lead more healthy lifestyles – now that saying something right there!

Our posture is important in so many ways.  Good posture provides support, balance and stability.  Use exercises that strengthen your core – the abdominal and low back muscles. A good example of this is our No Noise Abdominal Wheel With Mat – got to protect those precious knees!

Even moderate exercise can contribute to improving our memory and cognitive function.  The spin-off from exercise is that we tend to sleep more restoratively which in turn can help us deal better with stress, increase our confidence, boost our motivational energy levels, and overall, just feel happier.  Overall mentally, we quite often feel so good after exercising because our brain has released our happy hormone – endorphins – which assists in fighting stress and helping with depression and anxiety symptoms!

Grovit has a great range of equipment to start experiencing even some of the benefits mentioned above.  All equipment mentioned above is available at our online Grovit store. Have a good look around our store for many more products to complement your exercise regime.  We all deserve to live a happier, healthier life!

Procrastinate: delay or postpone action.

Motivate:  to provide with a motive.

We all have a propensity to put off doing something aka ‘procrastinate’.  It’s not necessarily because we are lazy or can’t be bothered.  More frequently, it is borne out of a ‘fear of failure’ and unconsciously, we put off doing something to avoid feeling like this.  Different situations trigger different responses in people! Until you get to the root cause of how procrastination runs the show, not much will change.  The old saying, if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got’.

It’s important to own whatever your goal is or what you want to achieve. This could be health and fitness, exercise, meditation, yoga, the type of food you put into your body, etc.  A desire and belief that you can do it is necessary for motivation! Take health and fitness – start off with small steps especially if you haven’t exercised in a while. Remember, a thousand miles begins with a single step.  It’s so easy to feel frustrated and just give up if your goals are a bit too ambitious. So just give yourself permission to take a step at a time. This helps you to adjust your fitness regime and gain more confidence in what you are doing - ‘voila’, you can avoid the procrastination default position.

To get me started and motivated, I could get some portable fitness or yoga equipment, foam rollers, fitness apparel or other accessories for my busy lifestyle or when travelling?  Can I vary my routine so that it doesn’t become boring - a trigger for procrastination? Remember if you plan some variety in your exercise, you’re more likely to stick with the plan!  Remember that failing to plan is planning to fail!

We often use the old excuse of ‘I’m time poor’ yet we find time to sit and watch hours of television etc.  Be aware – as soon as you start making excuses – who are you fooling? Incorporate fitness workouts while watching television, get out and dig in that garden – nature is good for the soul!  Walk during lunch break, take the stairs etc. Yes, you may say ‘I’ve heard it all before’ but can you now take some action?  There’re many great inexpensive diaries out there to keep a record of your fitness goals etc which help to vary your routine from time to time and keep you motivated along the way – because you start to ‘own’ what you’re doing!

Remember to be flexible.  Am I making up excuses or I’m just not up to it today?  If I need some time off, no need to make it a big deal – learn to be kind to yourself!

Grovit would really like to be a motivating partner on your journey toward health and fitness.  Grovit has such a great variety of amazing equipment, accessories and to finish up with, a great selection of Matcha tea!  There you go, no excuses – let’s get started now!

Yoga certainly isn’t something new. The evolution of yoga can be traced back to
over 5,000 years ago in India. Over time, the practical benefits of yoga have had such a positive impact on various diseases (high blood pressure, physical injuries, chronic pain etc).

For quite some time now, yoga has taken root in the West which has resulted in the many different practices and teachings. The mind-body-spirit connection is at the core or heart of yoga. The word yoga is Sanskrit for ‘union’ to join, or to unite. Today, many types of yoga are practiced around the world such as kundalini, ashtanga, vinyasa and hatha etc.

Unlike other forms of exercise known as aerobic, strength, balance, resistance, flexibility etc, yoga exercises are called asanas. Because of the mind-body-spirit connection, yoga is a combination of physical poses such as improving balance, flexibility, or strength; the breath which has a positive effect on our mental, emotional, and physical state, and for ‘being present’; and meditation or relaxation for lowering stress and calming the mind from intruding
thoughts.

There are so many positive benefits for doing yoga, and the different types of
yoga give you a variety to develop some of your own unique routines and rituals!
Take ‘chair yoga’ – great for people with limited mobility, or even if you just want to take 5 and practice some of these asanas at work! Some people perform their yoga asanas in the privacy of their homes, or book into regular classes (a good way to meet other like-minded people).

It’s a good idea to attend classes (for as long as it takes you) to perfect the various asanas and receive the full benefit of the different sequences in yoga poses. There are many professional athletes engaged in different areas of sport and endurance who use yoga to adjust or correct muscular imbalances, to prevent overuse injuries, and to just maintain a healthy body and keep the mind strong and alert.

Compared to the very beginnings of yoga, there are so many different accessories and props to support, provide comfort and enhance you in performing the asanas. For example, at Grovit, we have the Yoga Foam Bricks which help stabilise poses and make them more accessible to yogis of different abilities and body types.

We also sell the Round Foam Wrist and Elbow Mats which help to cushion pressure points and alleviate discomfort during exercise – important to help maintain motivation too! Non-Slip Yoga Socks, Yoga Trigger Point Balls, Yoga Exercise Core Balls, a large selection of Yoga Mats – and so
much more.

Whether you are already a seasoned yogi or just a beginner, our Grovit Shop has something for every yoga workout. If you want quality, support, comfort, variety, and design, head to our Grovit Shop now. Avoid excuses and get results now – the choice is yours!

Strength training is designed to enhance your muscular strength and endurance, helps in burning excess body fat, and overall, provides physical, mental and emotional wellbeing benefits.

There are many benefits to adding strength training to your exercise regime.  It’s a well-known fact that this type of training increases bone density, and greatly reduces the risk - especially for people that may be predisposed to developing – osteoporosis. This will aid and facilitate your balance and coordination – that means we are less likely to fall “lose our balance” and injure ourselves!

Working our muscles results in burning more calories and we all know what a negative impact carrying excess weight on our bodies can have.  Remember, the more you build up your muscle strength with exercises like push-ups, squats, lunges, pull-ups etc, the easier it gets and the longer we can work-out – now that’s a bonus!

Remember to give your muscles when doing this type of training “a rest” in between.  Upper one day, lower the next or a full body workout 2 to 3 times per week. This is a “no excuses” method of getting in some strength training for your body.  As you progress with strength training, you’ll develop more variety to stay motivated!

If you’re not really into exercising – or think laying on a sofa and using the remote control for the TV as a means of exercising the arms – then at lease start by walking.  At the very least, it will increase strength in your legs, and who knows, you might even want to get the rest of your body to join in and get moving.

Keep in mind that if you can’t get to the gym, haven’t got access to any of the usual fitness equipment, grab two can of baked beans or other items with equal weight to start, at the very least, some form of strength training.  You will, after doing some consistent training, start to feel better. What you want to do is build up a “I want to do more” attitude, then you’re on your way.

The Grovit horizontal chin-up bar supports up to 100KG and can be used on almost any door. Chin-ups are a great way to strengthen the latissimus dorsi which is the largest muscle in the upper body which extend the shoulder and flex the elbow.

The wooden exercise gymnastic rings in our Grovit online store are another way to boost that strength and develop more stability because you must learn to stabilise the rings while at the same time keeping your body steady.  It takes strength, determination, concentration and practice, but well worth the effort!

Whatever your age, developing strength is a two-fold journey – it needs to work on the inner as well as the outer body to feel more motivated and less stressed.  No excuses. For all the portable and strength fitness equipment, head over to our Grovit online store for your fitness needs with our great ranges on offer!  Remember, there’s no time like the present – that’s why it’s called “a gift”.

“Functional Fitness” essentially relates to certain exercises that train your muscles to boost or enhance how you safely perform your everyday activities with more ease, and less injury.  These types of functional fitness exercises have been designed to become a part of your lifestyle, your life! It’s not like saying to yourself that I need to lose weight for a wedding or another important event, and then when that event is over, it can be back to square one!  These types of exercises are not for a short-term focus. They have been designed to encourage a lifestyle change with the aim to sustain fitness health and vitality. If you want your body to move with more ease and comfort, then functional fitness exercises are just the thing.

Exercise shouldn’t be a chore or task.  We need to change our way of thinking and incorporate fitness regimes as a method of maintaining and enriching the quality of our lives!  That is at the core of functional fitness.

The exercises for functional fitness prepare and develop your muscles to join forces in preparation for your daily activities in whatever environment you are in – home, work, sport or other.

There are so many great benefits of functional fitness exercises and training.  Brilliant for core stability especially when using different muscles in the lower and upper body consecutively.

Take, for example, doing squats using the resistance bands on the Grovit online store.  The resistance bands support you in maintaining a good form while you do your squats especially the wider range of muscles you would activate by using your own body weight – no shortcuts here!

One reason that resistance bands help you get better results from doing squats is that they force you to keep good form while you lunge down and restrict you from cheating on your movements. On top of that, they allow you to target a wider range of muscles than you can with your bodyweight alone. So how does that help you in your daily life?  How much easier does it become to get up and down from a chair, bending down picking up things etc? A lot easier and you feel so much stronger!

Overall, the benefits of functional fitness exercises are fantastic.  They work collectively rather than isolating specific parts of your body.  This means many different muscle groups and joints such as shoulders, hips, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles are engaged at the same time with the end result being – you’ll be more flexible, and movements will be more fluid.

Remember, no matter what your age, fitness is so important for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.  For all the portable and functional fitness equipment, head over to our Grovit online store and begin your fitness journey with our great range on offer!  Remember, we don’t want a life with regrets, we want a life with health, happiness and contentment.

To make it easier, hop onto these links and enjoy!

Reusable “able to be used again, or more than once” (Online Dictionary).  This has become a global responsibility and if each of us think about how we use things, how we dispose of them, and the materials they are made of, we can all collectively make a positive difference to the environment.  Adopting reusable goods and materials reduces such a strain on our valuable resources, such as fuel, forests and water supplies, reduces air and water pollution, and helps protect our wildlife. They sound like fairly valid reasons for reusables to me.

It makes sense that the most effective way to reduce waste is not create it in the first place. Think about the process of creating a product.  The amount of energy and raw materials that can be dug up from the earth, the materials used for packaging the product, and finally the transport used (road, rail, sea or air) to get them to quite often, a global destination.

Therefore, the best solution for moving forward is to reuse to care for our environment and save money.

Sourcing good quality reusable products is important in supporting the environment.  Take the Grovit Wheat Store Coffee Mug. It’s perfect for a tea or coffee take-out, for your office or even when walking.  It’s made of biodegradable wheat straw, doesn't contain any harmful or toxic material, eco-friendly and healthy.

With coffee being so popular, we also stock our Collapsible Coffee Cup which is made of food grade silicone, is non-toxic, does not smell, and is safe for human body.  It is not only reusable, it also takes up very little space in a bag, backpack, or suitcase.  The design of the collapsible coffee cup gives no excuses to say it doesn’t fit in a bag as it has a folding body and a leak resistant lid!

Another product is our eco-friendly natural bamboo toothbrush for your oral hygiene.  It’s made of eco-friendly material, durable with a bamboo charcoal bristle.

We have the reusable stainless-steel water bottle, perfect for anyone on the go. From exercise, yoga or to work, this bottle has a leak-proof lid so there’s no need to worry about spillage.

Another popular product we stock are our reusable organic bamboo straws. Instead of landfill with plastic straws, I much prefer being able to reuse them over and over and save money!  Reusing our bamboo straws just involves simply rinsing them out after every use, or if you’ve had a smoothie, you might use a cleaning brush. Bonus - they are also dishwasher friendly.

Overall, the values of the GROVIT family are to ensure no carbon footprint impacts our planet, that we encourage and continue to grow a sustainable environment while paying careful attention to using recycled materials.

To see what else we have in our Reusable section, simply go to our online Grovit shop and whatever you choose to buy, remember you are making a great contribution to our planet!

In a nutshell, a resistance band adds resistance for strength training.  Resistance bands can be great either for intense workouts or for injury prevention and rehabilitation.   As we begin to strengthen our muscles, we drive ourselves to work a little bit harder.

People of all ages and levels of fitness can greatly benefit from a resistance band workout as a lot of the exercises and stretches can be completed from a seated position.

Because resistance bands are extremely portable, you can use them anywhere. The exercise bands fit easily into the small carry bag that we provide. You can use them at home, in the gym, when travelling or as part of an exercise class.

So how does the resistance work?  As the bands start to stretch, tension increases in our muscles which then cause them to contract.  This means that the stronger the resistance is, the harder the exercise becomes. It’s great for stretching and flexibility with a natural latex material.   So, how else can I use and get the best value out of the resistance bands?

Thinking of doing squats while teaching yourself to push out with your knees? Resistance hip bands are what you need.  If you want a great dynamic warmup, then wear the hip band above your knees and walk with long strides or while lunging.  Another great benefit to maximise your gains is adding the hip band to your lifting routine to help strengthen hip abductors and external rotators.

The elastic resistance band will tighten the abdominals while supporting the safe and beneficial practice of safe stretching. Apart from the abdominals, this 1.2m ban can exercise your, arms, legs and back and is highly rated for Yoga and Pilates exercises.

Another member of the resistance band family is the Strength Resistance Tube with a premium quality rubber latex that will not over-stretch.  It has over 30 different resistance levels depending on the handles being attached to the bands. The resistance tubes are perfect for Yoga, Pilates, general workouts and home-based strength training.

If you have tried everything from pills to heating pads and nothing seems to relieve that lower back pain, look no further than this superior lower back stretcher for pain-free days - the Glutes Waist Belt Pedal!   It’s made from thick foam, and the abdominal mat will help you dramatically improve your posture. It’s compact and lightweight and can easily be packed and carried with you at the office, on holiday or in the car, so you can have it with you everywhere you go!

Other benefits of resistance bands include stretching which is fantastic for improving and maintaining flexibility and mobility.  The elastic resistance bands help to increase the range of motion while deepening the stretch as we slowly move the band toward or away from the body.

For any of the above resistance bands, visit our online Grovit shop for great deals, colours and sizes.   Become flexible, develop strength and enjoy your body for the health and fitness it deserves!
