Welcome, Skintellectuals!

Retinoids are probably the single most effective skincare product you could have in your arsenal simply because they are proven to work with around 30+ years worth of exhaustive research. While retinoids are amazing there are a vast amount of myths around this wonder product and i thought i would take 5 of these myths and break them down for you!

This is probably one of the biggest myths that simply isn’t true. There are different types and...

Welcome, Skintellecuals!

I often find it rather hard to find a good moisturiser that will work for my combination skin; I need a moisturiser that isn’t too thick as to smother the oilier parts of my skin, but I need something hydrating enough for the drier parts of my skin.
This is where the wonder that is Stubborn Cosmetics comes in created by the fantastic Annalisa of @Skinperspective on Instagram. They have created such an innovative product, something I’ve never...

Welcome, Skintellectuals!

Acne and breakouts have to be the absolute bane of my life! I finally get everything under control and then two days later another one pops up, it can be annoying! Fortunately, this doesn’t happen as often anymore due to me using adapalene now, but when a random angry spot does pop up, I have ZitSticka to take care of it.

What is it?

ZitSticka is a one of a kind product! You might have heard of pimple patches before which claim to get rid...

Welcome, Skintellecuals!

If there is one product, I love more than anything; it has to be retinol because you can achieve so much with this. If you’re looking for actual results, then retinol is for you.
I know a lot of people can be somewhat wary of using retinol, but there is honestly nothing to worry about so long as you approach it correctly instead of just blitzing your skin.

The first retinol I ever used was Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil, which is a...

Welcome Skintellectuals!

If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you’ll know that i think hydration is really important in a skincare routine. As we age our skin becomes drier as it can replenish the oils like it used to, combine that with the degradation of collagen and we get saggy wrinkled skin.

Thats where Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense (30ml – £55) it contains hyaluronic acid, an absolute wonder ingredient that helps to plump and smooth out the skin.

Welcome Skintellectuals!

Whenever something arrives from Dermalogica you know its going to be fun to try! I feel like Dermalogica is one of a few few amount of brands that actually still innovate and create products that are unique.

Prisma Protect SPF 30, first and foremost is a moisturiser which is light-activated and provides broad spectrum defense against UV rays whilst preventing future signs of skin damage.
What really impressed me about this product is that it apparently...

Welcome Skintellectuals!

We all know that everyone loves a good mask and its a real pamper for you but for me personally i hate the whole faffing of wearing a mask that slips off my face and having to lie down for at least 20 minutes.
That all changed when i tried the UFO Smart Mask, the main reason i dont really use masks is as i said they are faffy but the UFO only takes 90 seconds to do!

Foreo UFO combines advanced dermal technologies with exclusive Korean mask formulas....

Welcome Skintellectuals!

There is nothing i like better than a moisturiser that delivers actual results, time and time again ive used moisturisers that really didn’t do anything than sit on my skin. While occlusive moisturisers have their place they really aren’t for me as i tend to love a mixture of humectants and emollient moisturisers, this is where Murads Nutrient-Charged Water Gel come in

Murad Nutrient-Charged Water Gel is an...

Welcome Skintellectuals!

I’ve been getting asked a lot lately how to read ingredients lists on products and what can you use to get better at identifying things to look out for so i thought i would get together with Judit from INCI Decoder, one of my most favourite website to use when looking at ingredient lists.

I am Judit, a computer scientist turned cosmetic formulator and currently a cosmetic science student. I have been obsessed with looking at ingredient lists for...
