Coffee, not only does it taste heavenly, it wakes us up and it is healthy! Yes it is true, coffee's benefits extend far beyond keeping us from falling asleep on the commute to work every morning. For instance one cup of coffee contains nutrients such as Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5), Manganese and Potassium, as well as Magnesium and Niacin (B3). In this blog post we will be sharing some of the health benefits this incredible drink has to offer. And if you are looking for a caffeine free boost in the shower or bath, our Cafe Au Lait cofee soap is one of the most popular soaps in our online store.

Lowers risk of type 2 diabetes – each incremental cup of coffee consumed daily (up to 6-8 cups) decreases your risk of contracting type 2 diabetes by 5-10%. Moreover, studies show that people who consume large quantities of coffee have a 23-50% lower risk of developing this disease. Furthermore, as reported in an extensive study, which compiled data from 18 studies with a total of 457,922 individuals, each daily cup of coffee was linked to a 7% reduced risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Reduces risk of heart disease – consumption of at least two cups of coffee per a day has been found to lessen the risk of heart failure by 11%.

Decreases risk of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer's diseases – according to a recent article ‘Coffee and Your Health’ published on WebMd: “For Parkinson’s disease, the data have always been very consistent: higher consumption of coffee is associated with decreased risk of Parkinson’s. That seems to be due to caffeine, though exactly how that works isn't clear. Coffee has also been linked to lower risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. A 2009 study from Finland and Sweden showed that, out of 1,400 people followed for about 20 years, those who reported drinking 3-5 cups of coffee daily were 65% less likely to develop dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, compared with non-drinkers or occasional coffee drinkers.”

Increases longevity – according to the article ‘12 Health Benefits of Drinking Coffee’ that was published on Woman and Home, “researchers at Stanford University have gone one better, discovering that people that drink coffee are more likely to live longer due to its ability to counter age related inflammation, which can cause a large range of health conditions including, heart disease and cancer”.

Doctors recommend drinking between two to five cups a day, although anyone drinking a minimum of one cup a day should experience the health benefits discussed above. With this myriad of health benefits why would anyone consider drinking only one cup!

Green Tea is viewed today as a miracle-like natural ingredient and so it comes as no surprise that the Chinese have been using green tea for centuries to treat almost everything varying from headaches to depression. Let us begin by breaking down what is green tea. It encompasses nutrients and vitamins such as vitamin B, folate (or naturally occurring folic acid), manganese, potassium, magnesium, caffeine and other antioxidants.  Moreover, it is made from the Camellia sinensis plant, where fresh leaves from the plant are steamed to produce green tea (the leaves are used as they’re richer in antioxidants in comparison to other types of tea due to the way that they’re processed). Let’s have a look into the key benefits of green tea and why we are so excited about our Mint Green Tea Soap.

Contributes to weight loss - Green tea is thought to increase metabolism. This is because the polyphenol contained in green tea strengthens the levels of fat oxidation as well as the rate at which your body converts food into calories.

Decreases blood pressure - Regular consumption of green tea can decrease the risk of high blood pressure.

Prevents tooth decay – several studies suggest that the chemical antioxidant "catechin" in tea can remove bacteria and viruses that have a tendency to cause throat infections, dental caries and other dental infections.

Suppresses depression - Theanine is an amino acid, which is contained in tea leaves. Theanine provides a relaxing and soothing effect and thus can contribute to suppressing depression.

Anti-aging - According to a recent article, “Green tea can apparently also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging, This is because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Both animal and human studies have demonstrated that green tea applied topically can reduce sun damage.”

“Green tea has been shown to improve blood flow and lower cholesterol. A 2013 review of many studies found green tea helped prevent a range of heart-related issues, from high blood pressure to congestive heart failure. What’s good for the heart is usually good for the brain; your brain needs healthy blood vessels, too. In one Swiss study, MRIs revealed that people who drank green tea had greater activity in the working-memory area of their brains. Green tea has also been shown to help block the formation of plaques that are linked to Alzheimer's disease. Green tea seems to help keep blood sugar stable in people with diabetes. Because catechins lower cholesterol and blood pressure, they can help protect against the damage a high-fat diet can cause."

With all of the abundance in health benefits, why not sit back on this winter morning with a cup of hot green tea?

Avocado has become one of the most popular foods in the world, especially here in the United States.  At Falls River Soap Company, our Avocado Soap with Jasmine Oil is one of our best selling handmade soap products.  The rise is so significant that sales of Hass avocados, which make up more than 95 percent of all avocados consumed in the United States, soared to a record of nearly 1.9 billion pounds (or some 4.25 billion avocados) last year, more than double the amount consumed in 2005, and nearly four times as many sold in 2000.

This Super Food (yes that is right, the avocado is now recognized as a super food) is becoming so popular that there are restaurants, which are dedicated their whole menu to this fruit. Such avocado-only restaurants are popping up all over the world in metropolitan cities such as Amsterdam, London and New York City to name a few.

Here are some of the health benefits of avocados:

Enhanced digestion – although the avocado consists of a creamy-like texture, it is actually high in fiber with about 6-7 grams per half fruit. Eating foods with natural fiber reduces the risk of constipation and colon cancer, as well as maintains a healthy digestive tract.

Cancer - consumption of folate, a nutrient that produces and maintains new cells, (not to mention that avocados contain more folate per ounce than any other fruit) can protect against colon, stomach, pancreatic and cervical cancers.

Healthy babies – consumption of folate is vital for a healthy pregnancy as it reduces the risk of miscarriage and neural tube defects.

Osteoporosis treatment – the saponins substance, which is found in avocados, is associated with relief of symptoms in knee osteoarthritis.

Protection from chronic disease - according to a recent article in Medical News Today, researchers at the Department of Internal Medicine and Nutritional Sciences Program of the University of Kentucky, found that "high fiber intakes are associated with significantly lower risks of developing coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and certain gastrointestinal diseases. Increased fiber intake has also been shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and enhance weight loss for obese individuals.”

WebMd highlights some additional health benefits for avocados:

  • Avocados offer nearly 20 vitamins and minerals in every serving, including potassium (which helps control blood pressure), lutein (which is good for your eyes), and folate (which is crucial for cell repair and during pregnancy).

  • Avocados are a good source of B vitamins, which help you fight off disease and infection. They also give you vitamins C and E, plus natural plant chemicals that may help prevent cancer.

  • Avocados are low in sugar. And they contain fiber, which helps you feel full longer. In one study, people who added a fresh avocado half to their lunch were less interested in eating during the next three hours.

With all the health benefits, why not go avocado? Start with our amazing Avocado Soap!

When considering the secretive ingredients and industrious processes used to manufacture soaps, it comes as no surprise that chemically made soaps contain harmful chemicals, and questionable dyes and fragrances. In fact, when you wash your hands with chemically made soap, your skin absorbs these harmful substances, putting both your skin and your general health at considerable long term risk. This post delves into why you should consider replacing chemically produced soap with organic soap alternatives.

Chemicals and Pesticides Free - As all ingredients used in organic soaps are derived from plants and herbs, one of the greatest benefits that one can get out of using organic soap is in avoiding contact with any chemicals or pesticides. Furthermore, according to the American College of Toxicology report, high contact with chemicals like sodium laurel sulphate can cause long term skin damage. Natural soap is free of these harmful chemicals and risk free.

Gentler & Healthier on the Skin – It is no secret that many people do not respond well to chemically produced soaps. However, you can mitigate and possibly avoid skin problems that are induced by harmful chemical ingredients by switching to organic soap. This is because organic soaps do not contain ingredients like herbicides, chemical fertilizers, or pesticides.

Additionally, animal fats used in the manufacture of soaps can cause irritation in the skin due to its nature, while organic methods of manufacturing soap (made of vegetable oils instead of animal fats) protects the skin and are thereby much safer.

Effect on the Environment – For those seeking to protect our environment, natural organic based soap is the soap for you as it is completely environmentally friendly, as pesticides and chemicals are not used in the soap making process. Moreover, organic soap is significantly more biodegradable than chemically made soap, and most importantly does not contain synthetic chemicals. Lastly, according to the article “The Benefits of Organic Soap” on the Global Healing Center, “most organic soaps are cruelty-free, meaning they’re not tested on animals. Purchasing natural and organic products is better for the environment, too. Organic ingredients are grown without chemicals and pesticides, both of which can pollute the water supply, air and soil. Organic soap might not lead the charge in saving the world but it supports the fundamental effort.”

Soap can be made with a variety of different ingredients and can be created by employing as well as utilizing diverse methods and techniques.  As there are countless ways of making soap, each of which have their own advantages and disadvantages, you can produce handmade soaps for sale with different forms and consistencies ranging from solid soap bars (soaps that are hard and firm), whipped bars (soaps that are solid while light and airy), liquid soap, and cream like form. This article explores the best soap making methods and techniques for beginners as well as experts. Let the fun begin!

Melt and Pour

Soap bars can be made with various different practices; we find the easiest method to be the “Melt and Pour”. This technique employs a pre-made soap base, which is melted and can be mixed with your choice of oils, scent, color, or any other ingredient or supplement that you wish to include.  No need to handle the lye (a potent chemical that can cause severe burns or rashes to the skin if mishandled) as this step has already been completed (keep in mind that as this step has been completed for safety reasons and therefore limits you from fully customizing and personalizing your soap).

The Cold Process

The Cold Process (CP) method begins with pouring the lye into water or milk (wait for the lye to dissolve into a liquid base form). Next, you will need to heat your solid oils (like cocoa butter or animal fats) and any other additive that you would like to include in your soap.

Once both of these steps are completed, mix and blend the lye solution with the oils until the solution transforms into a thick like form. Next, pour the solutions into molds.

The Hot Process

The Hot Process (HP) technique requires the same steps as the CP and CPOP method; such that the necessary ingredients are combined and the mixture is blended until the solution thickens. As the soap boils, the water evaporates resulting in the soap mixture to transform into a neutral product (this is identified by chemists as the saponification process). Next, the solution needs to be poured into the mold as well as sit for 24 hours. Once the 24 hours have passed, slice the mold into separate pieces and let it sit for about 2 to 3 weeks. This gives the soap enough time to dry out and harden.

There are many ways to make handmade soaps for sale, but at Falls River Soap Company we favor the cold-process methods.

According to a recently published article on the Huffington Post relating to the effects of chemically produced cosmetics on our bodies, researches are unsure what the long term effect just might be. Jessica Assaf, founder of the bioactive skincare line ‘Raw is Everything’, says: “We don’t know how these ingredients are interacting when they come into play. The average woman puts 515 synthetic chemicals on her body every single day without even knowing. And 60 percent of what we put onto our skin is absorbed into our bodies.”

So why use organic skincare products?

  1. Incredibly low regulation – There is a major problem in the commercial beauty product industry (or chemically produced beauty products), as there is little to no government regulations on what substances these daily used products comprise of. As stated in the Huffington Post article “The European Union has banned over 1,300 chemicals found in cosmetics. The FDA has only banned 8 and restricted 3.” It is clear from this text that many of the ingredients and products permitted in the U.S. have been banned in Europe and other countries, as past studies have demonstrated that such products are associated with cancer, reproductive harm and neurotoxicity. Furthermore, the FDA doesn’t impose any pre-market testing or approval before releasing these beauty products to the public.

  2. Natural Fragrance – The FDA doesn’t enforce cosmetic companies to disclose the ingredients used in their fragrances as these ingredients are viewed as ‘trade secrets’. Generally speaking, this enables cosmetic companies to put whatever they want into the product all whilst claiming that such components are necessary for the product’s fragrance. These components can be incredibly harmful and can possibly create allergic reactions for the consumer. According to a recently published interview with ‘Juice Beauty’ founder Karen Behnke on The Dermstore Blog, “Other potentially harmful ingredients present in non-organic products are synthetic fragrances and artificial dyes due to concerns associated with endocrine disruption, and parabens due to their link to breast cancer.”

  3. Lack of Nutrients – It is no secret that the majority of commercial beauty products lack in nutritional additives. Consequently, instead of enhancing the condition of the consumers’ skin, hair and nails, these chemically produced products can disguise potential health issues. Dr. Edward F. Group, founder of the ‘Global Healing Center’, claims the following: “Your skin has the ability to absorb certain compounds; however, a protective barrier is able to keep dangerous compounds, to some degree, out of the body. Even then, research still concludes that personal care products, when applied topically, can damage bodily systems and lead to untold health consequences”.

On the contrary, organic beauty products, which are rich in nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A, can mitigate such consequences. Furthermore, most organic and all-natural brands incorporate these fundamental vitamins into their products as well as enable consumers to purchase pure nourishing serums separately.  At Falls River Soap, all of our fragrances used in our natural handmade soaps are pure essential oils (plant extracts); our colorants are derived from herbs and other natural sources (like fruit or vegetable extracts); and our preservatives are plant extracts.

An Ancient Chinese Skin Secret

The Chinese have long relied on natural medicine as a remedy for nearly anything. If you talk to an old-school Chinese herbalist, they’ll tell you that a good cup of the right tea can cure nearly anything. Well, the same concept applies for you skin. A good natural soap with the right herbs and botanicals can help your skin immensely. Our White Tea and Ginger Soap has all the fixings of a lovely cup of tea, but in soap form. This means that your skin gets the direct health boost of white tea, ginger, and natural rice bran oil. Falls River Soap Company has tapped into the Chinese culture to create this gorgeous soap with lots of great uses.

Why White Tea?

You may be wondering why we’ve chosen white tea for our soap as opposed to green tea. After all, green tea seems to be the poster child for cure-all teas. Recent studies are showing that white tea may in fact be better for the skin than it’s green relative. It’s quite protective of the skin. Its benefits include wrinkle and UV damage prevention. It does this by stopping the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin. This keeps cells looking young and full. It’s polyphenols and flavonoids, which give it its great taste, can work to boost your skin cell immunity, too. Fair warning though: your body will absorb some of the tea’s caffeine through your skin, so be ready for a skin and energy boost after washing with our white tea soap!

Another Ancient Herb for Skin Health

Ginger is the perfect complement to white tea. Not only flavor wise, but skin benefit wise. Just like the tea, ginger is full of antioxidants. These work to increase blood flow to the skin and can help improve complexion. They can also fight the signs of aging and improve skin’s elasticity. We’ve added two forms of this skin loving ingredient to our ginger soap: ginger essential oil and candied ginger. The essential oil gives you the great antioxidant benefits, while the candied ginger works with the white tea leaves to give a gentle and aromatic exfoliation.

Rice Bran Oil for Nourished Skin

Rice is the staple of the Chinese diet, but it is also a staple of our natural soaps. Like all the other main ingredients in this soap, rice bran oil is purported to have anti aging benefits. It has Vitamins B and E, which help to rebuild the skin. They’re highly emollient, which means they help protect the skin from future damage. The fatty acids in this rice extract make our white tea soap very deeply and gently moisturizing to the skin.

How to Make the Most of the Scent

The biggest benefit of this soap is without a doubt it’s skin rejuvenation ability. But another part of this ginger soap that strikes most people is the amazing scent. People pay big bucks for candles scented like ginger and tea. It’s one of the most popular candle scents at retail stores. This soap has an amazing aroma that’s all natural. It’s no doubt refreshing during your shower or bath, but there are some other ways to get the fresh, clean scent of our white tea soap throughout your house. Here’s a few suggestions.

Make a Room Smell Better

You can use our soap to make a sort of potpourri for any room in your home. Simply grate our soap into a small dish and add any extra ingredients that you want. Some suggestions are extra candied ginger, extra essential oils, or even dried orange peels. This concept works best in smaller rooms like bathrooms or bedrooms, but a bigger dish of potpourri would work just fine in a bigger room. Putting the container near an air vent will help to circulate the scent.

Keep Linens Smelling Fresh

Nobody wants to use linens or towels that smell like an old, musty cupboard or drawer. A simple way to make them smell fresh and appealing is to add a small piece of our white tea soap between layers of towels or linens wherever you store them. You can cut our large soap bar into smaller pieces and wrap them lightly in cotton gauze or very thin muslin. Then place them with your linens and be surprised by how fresh they smell every time you use them.

Give Your Car a Clean Scent

For some strange reason, cars seem to accumulate all of the wrong smells. Each trip in the car contains the ghosts of scents past, like fast food or soccer practice. Our natural soap can help with that. Each time you use our ginger soap, you’ll end up with an awkward scrap at the end. Save these scraps in a small mesh bag. When you’ve accumulated a few, hang the mesh bag of soap in your car. You’ll smell the refreshing scent of white tea and ginger during every ride.

An Effective Natural Soap

No matter how you use our soap, you will be happy with the results. We know that your skin will love our soap. It’s both gentle and effective, because it’s handmade with only natural ingredients. We never add preservatives or chemicals because we want to be kind to your skin and the environment. Our White Tea and Ginger Soap has the ability to help rejuvenate and invigorate your skin with anti-aging powers and a warm, welcoming scent. Try our fantastic white tea soap today and capture the secrets of the Orient for your skin.

A Natural Soap for That Natural Glow

Celebrities have long been admired for their perfect, glowing skin. As more and more celebrities turn to natural, more gentle ways of obtaining perfect skin, natural beauty products have become popular. At Falls River Soap Company, we’ve been creating great natural beauty products for over 10 years. We make effective products that are gentle because they’re chemical and preservative free.

Our Facial Bar is made with organic and all-natural ingredients. We’ve done our research and selected only the highest-quality and most effective natural essential oils and botanicals. We source from all around the globe for ingredients for our handmade soap. Our Facial Bar can gently cleanse while fighting and preventing breakouts. More benefits include even skin tone and deep, lasting moisture. It has an amazing scent straight from nature.

Our Proven Process

We take our premier formulas and take our time to make them into soap in the best way we know how: cold-process soap making. Some may call us old-fashioned because we make soap the way our ancestors have for generations, but we think that’s a compliment. We have taken a proven method for making potent products that work and brought it into the modern world. Our artisanal soap is made in small batches to ensure the best quality. We mix lye and water and add our great ingredients, then pour them into a cold mold and let them age for up to six weeks. This ensures that the natural glycerin content is maximized. And since glycerin makes a great lubricant, humectant, and moisturizer, we want to include as much of it as possible.

What We Add Makes a Difference

Our top-quality ingredients are what set our soap apart from anything you can buy in a store. When formulating our facial bar, we wanted to find ingredients that would gently cleanse and soften the skin, all while creating a spa-like experience for your senses. That’s why we chose all-natural rosemary and lavender oils to infuse into our natural oil and oatmeal based soap. This gets your face clean, clear and hydrated in the most luxurious way.

Our Natural Oils

We carefully blended several oils to maximize the benefits to the delicate skin on your face.  All of our oils contain Vitamins E and A, which are essential to skin health. These vitamins can help fight skin irritations like eczema and dermatitis and have shown benefits like improved skin circulation and new cell growth. Vitamin E in particular helps to repair the skin and keep it looking fresh.

  • Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and antifungal. This is good news for those who suffer from breakouts. Coconut oil helps skin retain its moisture using  natural fatty acids.
  • Jojoba oil has a non-greasy texture. Since it’s actually a wax that comes from the Jojoba nut, it won’t leave your skin feeling greasy. It has great benefits for those with existing problems with oily skin. It has a texture similar to our skin’s own oil, so it makes an excellent natural moisturizer.
  • Olive oil has the unique ability to cleanse and hydrate at the same time. Rather than sitting on the surface of the skin, olive oil gets down into the pores and draws out oil and dirt while depositing squalene, a deep moisturizer. Plus, it’s high antioxidant concentration can help fight the signs of aging in facial skin.
  • Castor oil is a very viscous oil, so it sticks to the skin and provides lasting moisture. It is high in fatty acids, which are an important building block for healthy skin cells. Castor oil keeps skin cells plump and hydrated, helping to give you that celebrity glow.
Natural Blemish Solutions

Tea tree oil has the potential to work just as well as store-bought acne treatments, but without all the harmful side effects. Facial breakouts can be caused by excess dirt and oil that gets into the pores and creates irritation. Tea tree oil helps break down dirt in the pores and draw it out. It can help kill off any bacteria lingering in your pores because of its antiseptic properties. Finally, may help soothe red or inflamed skin to help even skin tone and calm breakouts.

If you have problems with breakouts or sensitive facial skin, oatmeal is a great help. We add oatmeal to our handmade soap because it is recommended by some dermatologists for use on sensitive or irritated skin. It’s naturally anti-inflammatory and can rid the skin of irritation or itchiness. Our oatmeal facial bar has a high protein content and is very emollient. The antioxidants in oatmeal can help to reduce the appearance of aging and damage on our face.

Refresh and Recharge

Our natural soap is fragranced with beneficial essential oils to help give it an aromatherapy boost. The exclusive blend for our facial bar includes rosemary and mint essential oils. Rosemary oil adds a deep, woody scent while helping to boost the immune system and improve circulation. It’s a natural astringent (toner) and a great anti-aging compound. Mint oil has a refreshing scent that energizes and refreshes the skin and mind. It’s also naturally antiseptic and full of Vitamin A and fatty acids to help the skin regenerate.

Nothing Beats Natural Soap

Store-bought facial cleansers can be quite harsh to your skin. While some of them may flaunt titles like “natural” or “no harmful chemicals”, this just isn’t true. Virtually every face product on the shelf at your local grocery or beauty store has some sort of chemical or preservative added to make it work or to make it last longer. We believe that there is a better way to get celeb-worthy skin and take care of your face. That’s why at Falls River Soap Company, we’ve carefully handcrafted our oatmeal facial bar to be both gentle and effective without any added chemicals or preservatives.. It’s the best alternative to irritating store bought products. We know our luxurious, handmade soap will give you a clear and happy face free from problems or irritation. Natural Soap- Our Gift to You

In honor of Valentine’s day, Falls River Soap Company has created a little poem for you:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Our Rose Soap is wonderful,
And your skin will be too!

All joking aside, we love our Red Rose Goat Milk Soap. Whether you want to show somebody how much you love them, or even just give yourself a little pampering, our rose soap makes the perfect Valentine gift. You can buy a bar or two and tie a bow on it for a perfect gift. The soap itself is beautiful and beneficial! If you want to get a little more creative, here are some ideas to help you gift your sweetheart (or yourself!) with our luxurious soap.

A Rosy-Hued Gift Basket

Nothing screams Valentine’s Day quite like the combo of pink and red. Let that be the inspiration for a gift basket starring our Red Rose Goat Milk Soap. Our soap contains rose clay to give it that pinkish hue, so it fits right in with this basket. This clay helps absorb junk from the skin to detoxify it, while gently exfoliating and adding moisture. Keep the contents of your basket natural to complement the effects of our rose soap.

Find yourself a cute, small basket at your local craft store and place some pink or red shredded paper in the bottom. Insert our rose soap and a pink loofah or sponge. Look around your natural grocery store for more inspiration. Perhaps some red or pink natural lip balm or some extra rose essential oil would be a good addition. Maybe even some pink colored tea or some red snacks, like apples or pomegranates. How about some fresh flowers like roses or carnations? And of course, don’t forget to add some red colored candy or wrapped chocolates. This will give that special person everything they need to have a relaxing and pampered Valentine’s Day.

An At-Home Spa Session

If you would like to get more hands-on in creating your gift, then this next idea is for you. You can create a spa session at home for that special someone. Our soap is just the thing for this Valentine gift. We’ve created a luxurious soap with an extra creamy texture using Goat’s Milk. Along with olive oil and coconut oil, it creates the base for our skin loving soap. It will create an extra-creamy lather that’s great for relaxing baths. Plus, the soothing scent of fresh red roses is romantic and therapeutic. The English Rose essential oil in our handmade soap is good for your skin too, because it’s anti-inflammatory and helps other products penetrate the skin better.

To create the spa session for your love, create a hot bath using our soap. Just shred a big handful of rose soap into the bath tub and gently stir to dissolve in the water. Add some fresh rose petals to the bath for extra oomph. Light candles and put on romantic music. Then just let your sweetheart relax and enjoy the spa experience. Promise you’ll clean up the bathroom after and you may just earn some extra brownie points.

Candy-Inspired Goodies

For a more family and friend favorable Valentine gift, try remolding our soaps for a cute gift. All you need do is find a heart-shaped silicon mold at your local craft store. Then, place a shredded bar of our soap into a double boiler and melt the soap to a pourable consistency. Pour into the mold and let set for 24 hours before removing. You’ll be left with cute little heart soaps that make great gifts. If you feel creative, you can carve designs or messages into your soaps a la conversation hearts candy.

This soap could be cute for kid’s valentine's gifts at school. Because of the full fat, organic goat milk, this soap is gentle for kids and great for sensitive skin. Don’t be limited to just the kiddos, though. The goat milk has alpha-hydroxy acids, which work to remove any dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. The soap is a great natural cleanser with anti-aging properties that anyone with mature skin could appreciate. Either way, the recipient of your adorable gift will get nourished and hydrated skin.

Our Most Luxurious Soap

This handmade soap contains goat milk and rose for a opulent clean. It’s both nourishing and romantic all at once. The rose works to open the pores so that the goat milk can clean and hydrate. The natural oils and glycerin hydrate, repair, and protect the skin. The result is younger, brighter, fresher skin. When you give your loved one our soap, you give the gift of pure and natural skin care. There’s no chemicals, preservatives, or irritants hiding in our soap. Just good ingredients that make our cold-processed soap effective and lovely. Give the gift of beautiful skin today and try our Red Rose Goat Milk Soap. It’s better than any gift from the grocery store.

Why We Choose All-Natural Oils

Oils are an important part of our Eucalyptus Spearmint soap. Oils and butters found in nature have concentrated amounts of powerful nutrients. Each oil in our handmade soap contains Vitamins E and A, which are building blocks for healthy skin. They work to fight skin irritations like eczema and dermatitis. Benefits can include better skin circulation and new cell growth. This results in skin that is continually repaired and fresh looking.

Palm oil contains powerful and concentrated forms of Vitamin E called tocopherols. These are often hard to find in nature. These natural tocopherols give palm oil a powerful anti-aging potential. Plus, it is a great cleanser and moisturizer. It penetrates the pores to remove dirt and oil and add back natural fats and oils that keep the skin plump and soft.

Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and antifungal. This is good news for those who suffer from breakouts. Coconut oil helps skin retain its moisture using natural fatty acids. Coconut oil is high in protein. These proteins work at a deep, cellular level to help produce healthy skin cells.

Olive oil has the unique ability to cleanse and hydrate at the same time. Rather than sitting on the surface of the skin, olive oil gets down into the pores and draws out oil and dirt while depositing squalene, a deep moisturizer. It fights the signs of aging by adding antioxidants to the skin.

Castor oil is a very viscous oil, so it sticks to the skin and provides lasting moisture. It is high in fatty acids, which are an important building block for healthy skin cells. Castor oil keeps skin cells plump and hydrated, making skin look younger and healthier.

Essential Oils to Mend Your Mind and Body

Our unique blend of essential oils features mint and eucalyptus oil for a fantastic scent and wonderful skincare benefits. Mint oil has a refreshing scent that energizes and refreshes the skin and mind. It’s also naturally antiseptic and full of Vitamin A and fatty acids to help the skin regenerate. It’s antimicrobial, so it can help clean your skin effectively.

Eucalyptus essential oil is deeply relaxing. This sweet-smelling oil is known for it’s healing properties when applied to the skin. It’s antiviral, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. This means that it cleans your skin of harmful bacteria and viruses while calming any irritation. It has a cooling effect on the skin, which when combined with the mint oil in our natural soap, both relaxes and invigorates you during any bath or shower.

Hidden Dangers of Trendy Soaps

Most store bought versions of trendy mint soaps have artificial scents and ingredients that provide only temporary joy to the user due to their many terrible side effects. The artificial scents can interfere with the nervous and endocrine systems. The harsh chemicals can strip the skin of moisture under the promise of cleaning the skin. The result can be dry, irritated skin that needs lotions or other products to get it feeling healthy. But that’s the point of big cosmetic companies, isn’t it? They want you to spend more money and buy more products.

Artisanal Soaps Made with Care

We strive to be as different as possible from any soap you can buy at the store. We believe that any soap or skincare product you use is best when it’s all natural. We believe that artificial ingredients and scents are harmful. We also believe that making soap by hand the way our ancestors did is the best method.
