Guylian a famous brand in the name of Belgium Chocolate. As long as I remember I always used to like horse shape chocolate from my childhood and still love it being an adult foodie. Recently Guylian has came up with a cafe at a new location The Pointe Palm Jumeirah.
Being a guylian chocolate fan it was happy surprise to know that guylian has notched up to the level of cafe where not only chocolate, desserts we will get to try some delectable menu as well.
Yesterday my friends and I were there to try out their special breakfast menu and we preferred to sit outside to make the most of the pleasant weather and have a heart meal with stellar view of Atlantis.
Our culinary session started with the serving of fresh Belgium Pastries in butter and chocolate flavor. I tried the butter croissant one and it was the way it should be, flaky from outside and soft like pillow interior. I even tried it with the served along chocolate dips.
Smashed Avocado toast were delightful not only in taste but to visual appearance as well. This simple yet healthy dish was a hit on our table and I could see that it got finished in no time
Tomato and Bocconcini another healthy option made an appearance on our bloggers table. It was a huge serving and seemed a little difficult to eat as it was lavishly filled with the healthy filling, so we opted to cut it in halve and share with the others. Only one remarks made it to my ears was ” how delectable it is” and finished it in no time from our table put a confirmed mark to the statement.
Not to forget Egg Benedict with salmon, something egg buff would take delight to delve in. Soft poached eggs served on a bun layered with salmon topped with holandaise sauce makes it a complete meal for a person. I could only eat half of it as there was no space in my stomach and I had to keep some space for toothsome desserts.
Now, lets talk about the desserts. On chef suggestion we got to try three different variety Passion Temptation a passion fruit sauce filled dessert which I was not expecting would impress me in taste but I was wrong and wanted to try more of it The second one was 100% Pure Pleasure, yes as name suggest it was a pure pleasure for dark chocolate lovers, creamy and luscious taste of mousse was melt in mouth in each spoon. The last one Guylian Chocolate and Hazelnut Pyramid that literally came in pyramid shape was another visual treat. We all throughly enjoyed the dessert part the most I believe and why not, well all three were made up of Guylian chocolate.
They have a good variety of beverages too but I preferred to kept it low and ordered just a fresh orange juice for myself rather experimenting with mock-tails or ice-teas.
A big thank you to Guylian Cafe for letting us to try delectable spread and we all can’t wait for the opening of other branches in Dubai
Ground Floor, Zone A, The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai
Walnut Grove a new addition in the culinary scene of Dubai and fortunately I got a chance to cover it recently. It has two branches but I was there at the Dubai Mall last week for a lovely lunch.
Apart from its warm interiors and spacious sitting I was happy to see the outdoor terrace with a stellar view of Burj Khalifa. Conveniently located at the first floor of Dubai Mall near Waterfall you can easily spot amidst of huge and intricate(for me sometimes) Dubai Mall.
The manager sheena was there to assist us. Polite and warm personality made us at ease instantly and at first we preferred to sit indoor and later decided to savor desserts and coffee at the open terrace.
The menu is exciting and would compel you to try lots of things out of it. We took for like 10 mins to decide and placed an order in this way
Cosanostra Chicken Salad
Parmesan Almond Chicken Strips
Walnut, Truffle and Chicken Carbonara
Salsa Verde Chicken Kebab
We started our culinary experience with Starters like Hallouni Fries and Parmesan Almond Chicken Strips. Let me tell you one thing the presentation of each dish was on point and not less than a visual treat. Halloumi fries seems like french fries but taste like fish fillet and it was finished like a hot selling cake from our table where as chicken strips were good but nothing much special in taste.
Our healthy choice of salad Cosanostra which was suggested by our server was another hit on our table. Thankfully we opted for this option and totally loved each bite of it. Fresh salad was a mix of feta, mozerella cheese, avocados, olives, grilled veggies and tomatoes in short everything nutritious and taste was equally good.
If you are a fan of truffle and white sauce pasta then this walnut, truffle carbonara pasta is definitely you must try. Creamy white sauce pasta loaded gold of food truffle infused beautifully in each bite will leave you satisfied.
Salsa Verde Chicken Kebab, well marinated in in-house spices chicken pieces served in skewers with veggies and sauce. They were soft and mild spice chicken pieces will definitely tantalized your taste buds.
We opted for sliders selection rather ordered just one. In a slider platter we got to try 2 different variety chicken and meat. I won’t say they were the best I have tried anywhere but good option for filling or slider lovers.
Now, lets talk about dessert. Sweettooth or not you have to try desserts here from huge variety they have at their display. From cakes to customized cupcakes they have something for everyone. What we tried there? A huge slice of rainbow cake, coffee cake and caramel & oreo cake. All were good but for me rainbow cake was the winner :). Colorful and neat each layer topped with mild sweet cream won my heart instantly and I savored each bites with a sip of hot latte while absorbing the classic view of Burj khalifa on the outdoor terrace of Walnut Grove.
My friend opted for blooming green tea and washed down everything with this refreshing tea.
The staff is friendly and service is prompt. I can’t wait to go again and try breakfast menu here. This place is highly recommended for those who are looking for good food with stellar view.
Thank you Walnut Grove for having me
Ground Level, Near Waterfall, The Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai, Dubai
Palace Downtown is one of the place I love going again and again. This time I was there for Indian Street Food Night celebrating every week on Thursday from 7:00pm to 11:30pm, where you get to embrace authentic taste amidst of street style cart, live stations, hanging decor and art installation stay true to the spirit of theme.
The plethora of stations in buffet makes you confuse for a while from where to start. Street style cart fancy enough to kick start delectable culinary experience. Bhel puri, chaat, pani puri, dahi bhalay and pav bhaji are some of the variety you get to taste from Ewaan Chaat Corner.
There was surfeit amount of variety in Main Course. Mainly from authentic desi choices to some international flavors and each section was worth trying. Being a desi soul I was more into delicacies of desi flavors. Hyderabadi biryani to curries like Butter chicken Roganjosh Beef Stew with Carrot and Baby onion and Lamb leg tantalized everyone’s tastebuds. Even vegetarian souls didn’t get dissapointed as there are many dishes like Baigan bharta Roasted Potato Mustard Seed, Momos and Chutney, Kappa and Meen curry satisfied any veg soul to content level.
Indian food is not complete without having assorted breads to accompany the curries and the Indian Street Food night was not short in it. Plenty of variety like Keema paratha,Aloo paratha, Kalkatta Nizami chicken roll, and Paneer paratha were so good that I could eat them alone.
There was an outdoor arrangement of live BBQ where Batti da murgh,Batti ki champain, Tandoori chicken, Murgh malai tikka, Sunehara Jhinga and Barbeque Goan prawns soole were some lip-smacking variety.
From International section you can enjoy sushi to sashimi and some Italian flavors like Penne, Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce, White Sauce and Condiments.
Soup and Salad station were also there, compelling to fill your bellies with healthy options.
Just imagine after all the above delectable station, one can imagine the dessert station beaming with everything for desi bites. I could hardly taste some of the sweets out of many as I was totally full after having so many dishes to try.
We ended our lovely culinary evening with Hot Tea from my favorite Karak House. I couldn’t ask for a better end to this humongous culinary feast evening.
Do try it out! you would be delighted to try all variety and taste of this Indian Street Food Night

London Dairy is not a new name and its synonyms to premium ice cream thats what clicks to our mind with this name but let me tell you, now London Dairy has notched up and came with a bistro where you can enjoy not only icecream and desserts but a good spread of delectable menu as well. Its conveniently located at sheikh zayed, Trade Center Area and easily accessible from Financial Center Metro.
Recently I got a chance to visit this place and I can safely say whatever I tried there totally satisfied my taste buds and made it a successful culinary experience.
This double story bistro has warm clean interiors and open kitchen at upper floor keeps you entertain with its hustle bustle. On weekdays breakfast is available till 12 but on weekend its extended uptil 2:00 pm.
We preferred to ordered from lunch menu and took sometime to decide what to try or what not. Our culinary journey started with complimentary bread basket that served long with butter.
Our server suggest us to try fresh orange juice in drinks and we opted the suggestion happily and didn’t regret it was truly fresh without any additive or sugar.
In salad we had our all time favorite Ceaser Salad, fresh bunch of green leaves coated with Parmesan cheese topped with grilled chicken. I always feel less conscious after ordering one salad in my tasting sessions
In mains we got to try Chicken Spicy Pizza, thin crust loaded with chicken and spicy tomato sauce was something every pizza lover would love to try!
Lamb Shank– It was soOooo tender and soft like pillow. I could have gobbled it in no time, if I hadn’t had to try other dishes. Australian lamb cooked for good 8 hours served with sauteed potatoes and herbs is a must try dish!
Rib Eye Steak– For meat lovers its an another good option other than lamb shank. Angus beef rib eye portion which my husband preferred to have it medium rare came along with green peppercorn sauce, fries and rocket salad.
Salmon– Since am a big on seafood, so salmon was must, it was soft and cooked to perfection however, the taste was average. I could feel the saltiness more on my palates in the end so I can’t rate it more than average in taste.
If you are pasta lover worry not, ample variety in menu would compel you to try each one of them, by the way I tried penne white sauce pasta, wish it had some chicken as well that could have made it super appetizing.
We ended our session on a sweet note of desserts- Waffer Corenta and Pistachio Milk Cake. Both were delectable though we were full by this time but couldn’t resist and enjoy the both desserts till our sweet tooth satisfaction.
Service here is prompt and friendly but I would like to mention special thanks to Sasha for being such a good host. I can’t wait to go back to try their breakfast and afternoon tea menu.
Aspin Commercial Tower, Sheikh Zayed Road, Trade Centre Area, Dubai
New week new culinary experience. Latest one I got to visit is Little Melbourne conveniently located at World Trade Center. Contemporary vibes, book shelf at the corner makes it instagrammable.
Its a small small cosy cafe big on flavors. The menu serves all day breakfast with some healthy options. Big bites includes scrumptious dishes like lamb shank, pizza, fish n chips and newly launched Harissa in the menu is worth trying.
We started with granny’s granola classic recipe of granola topped with yogurt and a mix of berry, strawberries and peach. Best start to the culinary expedition, light and creamy with nutty texture in each bite AED 24/-
Egg Benny was the second entry on our table. Totally healthy and filling ciabatta bread topped with cream cheese, poached eggs of your choice, tomato and homemade hollandaise sauce AED 43/-
Aussie Wagyu Burger was tick pattie burger, juicy from inside and totally worth the price AED 40/-
They have three choice of pizza and I opt for Margarita layers of tomato sauce, rocket, mozzarella cheese and basil drizzled with olive oil AED 42/-
In big bites Harrisa Chicken is newly launched and on the advice of chef we tried and didn’t regret at all. Soft and tender chicken thigh piece served with roasted veggies and special harrisa sauce that complements it totally AED 46/-
French Toast were visually pleasing but they could have been more soft and yummier as other dishes AED 39/-
Lamb Shank is something I would highly recommend. Braised lamb shank served with creamy mash potatoes and steamed veggies was a star dish on our table. I couldn’t help but to finish it fully AED 65/-
Fish and Chips another classic recipe that will surely tantalized your taste buds. You can enjoy it with skinny fries, tarter sauce, coleslaw with lemon dressing AED 39/-
From exciting dessert options we tried Tim Tam Milk Cake. It was my first time trying out this flavor and I can say if you like Milo taste then this sweet dish will leave you delightful AED 24/-
All in all it was a successful discovery, I can’t complain with any dish. Whatever I tried it was superb in taste and want you to come back for it again. I am glad to visit this place and no wonder its on my go to place from now on
Thank you Little Melbourne Team specially our server Mitos. She was friendly, prompt and knows her work professionally
I am amaze to see proliferating cafe in Sharjah. They are not just your ordinary cafe but the most instagrammable ones. Recently I came to know about this cafe by the name storie cafe. As name suggest this place is like an exciting place for a book buff. There is a dedicated area for books where you can get variety of book genres from Arabic to International authors.
The vibes of the whole place is instagrammable, now lets talk about the menu. This place serves breakfast till 5pm. Soon they are introducing lunch and dinner menu too. You can finds lots of variety in the menu like healthy option of smoothies bowl, pasta, sliders, risotto, sandwiches and desserts etc.
I started by ordering smoothie bowls and on manager’s advice we tried manga and moringa bowl. Manga bowl yellow in color was my favorite where as my friend liked the moringa one which was in pleasing color of green with fruits.
Being a prawns lover I was exciting to try dynamite pops. Interesting fusion of desi gol gappa served with dynamite prawns topped with wasabi sauce, yuzu sauce, tobika and cress. Beautifully presentation and delectable taste would surely tantalized your taste buds.
Shakshouka was another dish that was adviced to try by the manager. Again beautifully presented but the taste couldn’t impress me much. The taste felt like a fusion of Arabic and Chinese which was not a impressive combo for me.
Fries with chilli beef and cheese sauce was hit on our table. Loaded fries with spicy chilli beef and full on cheese was filling and super delish in taste. Don’t make it wait and dig right away, you would enjoy these fries while they are warm.
If you are vegetarian fret not! decent options would not let you starve here. I got to try Epic Veggie Burger. Let me confess am a hard core non- veg person but seriously I like veggie version totally. It was crispy and filling at the same time. If I had not to try other options I would happily eaten the whole burger in one go.
In dessert we satisfied our sweet tooth with blueberry pancakes but unfortunately the visual treat couldn’t satisfy us. It was too sweet for my liking and felt a little dry though the caramel sauce was served along with it but as it was too sweet I didn’t dare to add on my pancakes.
All in all the whole experience was good with some hit and misses, however I would totally recommend you to try this conveniently located cafe at university road Sharjah. Some of the dishes would totally impress you and not to forget the ambiance of this places added value to your visit.

Are you a meat buff and looking for a good place in Dubai? then worry not I have a good option that will satisfy you with the quality. This place serves raw meat as well so you can buy or enjoy the cooked meat, both ways. This place is located in JLT in cluster Q.
On a busy day I thought to order from here. Here are the items I ordered
Chicken with Garlic
In starters we tried salad fattoush which came with sauce and fried crisps, creamy hummus to accompany other items we ordered. Chicken rolls were crispy from outside and soft from inside.
Lebanese burger was thick patty burger, delight in each bite. It was filling with quite a taste to satisfy hungry appetite.
Chicken with garlic burger was little dry and could have been yummy with more stuffing of chicken and fries.
Mixed Grill was something I totally enjoyed, it came along with fries. Each pieces was soft and well marinated. Arayess were well stuffed with filling and accompany well with mixed grill.
All in all I had a good experience with THE MEAT AVENUE. Delivery was smooth and taste was equally good. I can’t wait to go back and try other items too, by visiting the branch.
If you reside in JLT or near to this area do check them out for good food and quality.
