Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau - The SCTB Blog
Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau is a key economic development engine for the Saratoga region. Mission of the Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau is to contribute a positive impact on the local economy by promoting and marketing Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County as a world-class destination for meetings, conventions and groups. This blog is an official travel guide to Saratoga Springs NY.
What was once known as the last surviving hotel of Saratoga Spring’s “golden age,” is now a newly restored, luxury hotel in the heart of historic Broadway. The Adelphi Hotel, located in downtown Saratoga Springs, is getting increasingly closer to its long-awaited opening. The property, which has been undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation for the past 4 years, has been a gem in the city since 1877.
The Discover Saratoga team recently got an exclusive tour of the updated boutique hotel, and couldn’t be more excited for the newest addition to Saratoga’s growing hotel and lodging options.
At a first glance, Adelphi shines with stunning Italianate architecture, elegant details and a modern flare. The property managers did a stunning job capturing the true essence of Saratoga culture, while incorporating the historic ambiance of the original, 150-year-old boutique hotel.
In addition to downtown restaurant and bars, The Adelphi Hotel offers a variety of dining options. Salt & Char, located next door, is a well-established steakhouse that’s the perfect complement to the hotel. If you’re craving a bit of sunshine during your stay, The Blue Hen is another wonderful option. Inspired by Blue Toed Hen, a saloon that once stood near the hotel, the eatery offers stunning views of Universal Preservation Hall and Adelphi Gardens from its glass-walled conservatory.
The Adelphi’s hotel bar, Morrissey’s, is named after John Morrissey a hotel resident known for bringing racing to Saratoga before his death in 1878. There, guests can enjoy unique eats and one-of-a-kind cocktails. The Blue Hen and the grand ballroom can accommodate up to 250 guests for weddings, meetings and more.
The facility includes 32 oversized guestrooms and suites that all have been reconfigured. The large bathrooms will keep guests at ease with spa-like bath and walk-in showers. One suite even has an outdoor hot tub in an enclosed patio. Romantic getaway, anyone?
One of our favorite highlights was the elegant library that leads you to the hotel’s large balcony area with prime views of downtown Saratoga Springs. When we spoke with Adelphi’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Ivan Tamayo, he exclaimed the importance of guest experience and going above and beyond. “A hotel is nothing without quality staff.”
Currently, The Adelphi Hotel is hiring for a variety of culinary and hospitality positions. Interested candidates can apply here.
The Adelphi Hotel is slated to open this fall, and currently taking reservations. Book now before your next trip to Saratoga Springs!
