It’s official. We have become a ‘Staycation Nation’ with over half of Britons choosing to take their annual summer holiday within the UK this year and 85% of us taking an average of three short UK breaks during 2018, a recent survey has confirmed.
A couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a Gin Festival at the Steam Museum in Swindon. Accompanied by my brother (turns out it’s not hard to find a plus one for a gin festival!) we set out to immerse ourselves into the heady world of craft gins.
A beautiful and ancient craft, screen printing first appeared in China about a thousand years ago. It is something I have always wanted to try but seemed out of my reach due to the costly equipment and intricacies of the art. I was therefore delighted when I was given the opportunity to try out the new Screen Sensation screen printing system.
The kids were hugely excited when a parcel arrived last Saturday; both convinced it would be for them. It turned out it was for our lovely black lab Sophie – her very own subscription box from Labraloot.
Wet felting is the process of combining layers of wool fibres into one flat piece of felt fabric. Wet felting uses water, soap and agitation to interlock and matt wool fibres together. The resulting material can be cut and used for all sorts of projects.
