Today we had the pleasure of celebrating with Zoo Miami for a very special baby Rhino gender reveal. Not your typical gender reveal right? Well recently a Greater One Horned Indian baby Rhino was born right here at our very own Zoo Miami, to Mom Akuti and Dad Suru. This was a very significant birth because not only was the baby rhino conceived through artificial insemination but also with induced ovulation. Something that has never been done with this species. We were so honored to be invited to see the baby Rhino make his or her first debut onto the Indian Rhino Habitat here at Zoo Miami.
There fun gender reveal poppers, pink & blue fortune cookies, a baby registry and we even signed the welcome banner for baby. When we found out about the event were running some errands. My son Rian was so excited as soon as we go home he made a card to welcome Zoo Miami’s newest addition. He even picked out a miniature baby rhino present to give to the new baby rhino that would keep him or her company at night.
We have less than 3,000 of these One Horned Indian rhinos left in the wild throughout Asia. This rare birth of an Indian rhino has been so important to the Zoo as well as the community globally. Especially when countless efforts are made to maintainto their population safe globally, and for those that are under human care. Why, because these beautiful 6,000-pound mammals are being hunted and poached for their horns. Which are then used medically in some cases or to make handles for daggers. It is so important to help protect the Indian Rhino speices so that our children can have the opportunity to see them in their natual habitats or even here at the Zoo to learn more about the speices. If you would like help save these animals, to donate please click here or you can adopt an animal here and become a wildlife gaurdian.
Being able to witness this precious little rhino life with my son by my side was such a memorable experience. It was fun to see his excitment to find out if the baby was a boy or a girl. He guessed that the baby would be a girl. And you know what he was spot on! Baby Rhino is a GIRL!! It was so much fun to see Dad Suru play around with the crowd today before actually revealing his new baby’s gender to us. We then watched as the whole family made their debut. Like a true mama Akuti kept baby rhino close by. Baby rhino stayed in shade right next mom as dad entertained the crowd. Afer enjoying some fun snacks and giving his present to the Zoo keepers. We stayed at the Zoo to play their splash zones and had some lunch at the carousel cafe.
This weekend Zoo Miami is celebrating their newest addition with Baby Rhino Weekend. Head on over to Zoo Miami to see this adorable new addition.
Who else enjoyed the long weekend? Today I was greeted by a warm welcome from the hubby who announced he MISSED me after spending the last three days playfully harassing me. On the most Mondayest Tuesday ever I spent the day doing basic mom things laundry, drop off, self-care, yoga, lunch, naps, bath time …. and the list goes on. It felt really great to hear him say how much he missed me. As a stay at home mom, it can get really lonely with the kids at home all day. Especially when your partner and you are conquering the world apart from each other. It wasn’t always like this there were some afternoons when we’d be so exhausted and tired from parenting that remembering to acknowledge each became an afterthought. Which negatively affected us as a couple at times causing us to fight over silly stuff. This parenting journey is tough, to say the least. But I am so grateful to have a partner who understands it is challenging and that I need to be pulled out of my mom cloud at the end of the day.
Now let us talk about this outfit!
This is one of those outfits when you put it on it makes you just feel fabulous! It has been a few years since I have styled a midi a skirt but when I saw this one online I fell in love. I knew the stripes and linen fabric would be perfect for summertime. This midi skirt is so lightweight and comfy, even belly-friendly if you are pregnant. I remember not being able to find styles I like while pregnant that I didn’t end up purchasing many maternity clothes I wore what owned or sized up in regular clothing styles. Give it a try momma if you are pregnant, you can still wear it after the baby arrives. What I really like about the midi skirt is how it flows when you move the slit detail adds a fun flirty element. It is also very easy to transition from a casual daytime look to and dressier evening look, paired with a crop top and strappy heels.
I wore this lined midi skirt over the weekend for coffee at a Roses Coffee Bar here in Fort Lauderdale. It flows so wonderfully and pairs so easily with a variety of tops making it a really versatile wardrobe piece even for a petite mom like myself. I was afraid that the linen would crease after sitting for long periods, however, I did not have that issue with this midi skirt. I am sure that it will travel well even when tucked away in your suitcase. (Packing tip: instead of folding it I would recommend rolling it to avoid wrinkles)
Is it coffee or Rose? Roses Coffee Bar at The Dalmar
So mommas, looking trendy and stylish doesn’t have to be difficult. Shop smart and styles that you like to create outfits that fit your personality.
I hope that I inspired you to wear something you haven’t in awhile or try a new style out. I’d love to know leave me a comment below.
Who’s ready for the long weekend? I know I am! Some of us will be spending it on the beach or at home with family by the pool while munching of some tasty barbecue. However, you celebrate I wanted to wish everyone a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend.
As promised I am sharing another way to wear denim that is not a pair of mom jeans. like any other mom, I love a great pair of denim jeans. But I also love the trend of a slightly oversized denim jacket. I mean it pairs so well with jeans, skirts, shorts, rompers the outfit ideas are endless. On a recent trip to Plato’s Closet, after a closet clear out, where I was headed to drop off some clothes I was purging to be sold. While waiting I was browsing the racks and I found this oversized denim jacket. Since this store-bought gently used clothing to resale this denim jacket was only $8! and have been wearing it ever since.
One way I like to freshen up my wardrobe or find classic staples like a denim jacket is to sell and shop in thrift stores or similar discount stores like Plato’s Closet that purchase to resale gently used clothing (sometimes name brand items) for a lower cost. It helps me not break the bank but to create simple on trend outfits like this one. Momma if you want to update some of your wardrobe staples and your on a budget or want to make some extra cash clear out your closet of some pieces that don’t serve you anymore or your husbands ( they take men’s clothes too). Don’t be afraid to shop in similar stores to find classic pieces like this denim jacket. What are you waiting on ladies, then head to a Plato’s Closet or clothing consignment shop and go get yourself some cash or a few new wardrobe pieces for the weekend!!
I like that a denim jacket is a classic wardrobe staple that I know will be on regular rotation in my closet for years to come. There are some many ways to wear a denim jacket and one way I like to style it is with a dress. A denim jacket casually thrown over your shoulder has a more relaxed boyfriend feel (it does feel like your hubbies arms around you). This week I posted a photo on Instagram of this $7 dress from H & M printed dress paired with my $8 oversized denim jacket. Talk about an affordable outfit!
I hope that you are insipred to clear out your closet this weekend and update some of your wardobe staples. I would love to see how you style your finds or even how you style your denim jacket looks. Tag me on instgram using hastage #cinfullystylish!
Spring is here and it’s time to fling into some inspiring eats with an interactive dining spot in Fort Lauderdale.
If you are looking for a refreshing and engaging date night out then you have to try TRP taste right here in downtown Fort Lauderdale. TRP Taste is a 26 seat test kitchen that offers a intimate interactive dining experience monthly. A lovely environment where the guest get to interact and watch the chef prepare their meals.
Most date nights consist of dinner and drinks so we thought we’d step it up a notch and try something new. That is when we discover TRP Taste 420 stoner inspired tasting menu that was happening this weekend. Let’s get something straight there was NO cannabis that’s illegal. However the dishes were all inspired by what would a stoner put together with whatever was in the fridge at that moment. All six course’s were exceptionally designed to walk you down memory lane.
I am a ramen lover so I happy when I saw that the first dish was PBR “Poor Boy Ramen” which is a classic stoner dish. My other favorite of the night was the “Wake & Bake” Pancake-wich it was mouth watering sausage wrapped in a blue berry pancake, egg, and bacon. The only way to eat was to pick it up with your hand and take a BIG bite. Check out my insta stories for some video of how YUMMY this pancake-wich is.
Sticking to the theme of the evening I order a Smoked “C.B.D” cocktail that comes from the Roof Top bar located upstairs. This delicious cocktail arrived in the most interesting glass to begin with, I wasn’t sure how I should drink it. Since it was topped with a cherry basil Hayden, heresy chocolate, and smoked marshmallow. After trying my husband’s Blood Orange Paloma that is served with a bright orange marigold. I couldn’t help but order myself one to go with the second round of dishes.
TRP taste 26-person intimate dining experience really allows you to get to know your neighbors. We met some amazing couples who have tried the interactive dining experiences previously and raved about them. One thing we learned about TRP tasting menu is that the portions were far from tasting portions. You were not HUNGRY when you walked out the door. The portions were generous portions and you definitely get more than what you pay for. I would definelty recommend one of TRP tasting events to a couple who is interested in trying a tasting menu for the first time.
Lace and ruffles aren’t always meant to be so feminine. Go ahead; mix it up! I’m a girly girl whose always had a soft spot for lace. It’s great for both daytime or evening looks. That’s why I immediately feel in love with the dress when I first saw it but didn’t get it. It was the perfect amount of lace and I really liked the neutral tones mixed in with one of my favorite colors mustard yellow. A few weeks later I found it on sale and managed to get it for free with the purchase of another sale item. I brought it home and I couldn’t wait to style it because as much as I love the femininity of this lovely lace dress I do enjoy adding some chic elements to my outfits. Playing on the neutral tones I incorporate WHITE instantly making the lace and ruffles Chic. A white blazer is a must, they are also very chic and can be worn with a jeans & graphic tee turning a blah outfit into casual chic, just like that! Here I used the jacket over my shoulders to keep me cover from the wind and rain that was moving in Friday evening. To ground the whole outfit I used one of my favorite trends white leather booties for a romantic, flirty date night outfit.
It’s been busy around here this May. It’s Mother’s Day today. ( I know why am I working). Well because the kids are with grandma. So naturally, I’m gonna make the most of my time, such a MOM thing to do right! Let me tell you it’s been a productive day inside and outside the house, regardless of how busy, it’s been the perfect day. My husband got me some PJ’s something I love (I think he read my last blog post) and some great handmade gifts from the kids. I didn’t care for a fussy brunch or lunch just relaxing around the house doing things mom does best! I made my own crepes and enjoyed them quietly.
So, moms, I want to wish you all a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
I hope that you spent your day exactly how you would like it. Doing the things that make you the happiest. Because remember moms we deserve this day to celebrate ourselves.
Now let’s talk about polka dots! It’s another one of those prints that I love to keep in regular rotation in my wardrobe. I found this polka dot top with bow detail on the back from forever21 years ago. It has been a staple in my wardrobe ever since. This print is so versatile, ladies! More than your basic tee, this polka dot top can be dressed up or down. Paired with heels & jacket with can go from day to night very easily. There are so many outfit combos that you can create, keep reading to see two of recent pairings.
Here I styled it two ways during my regular day as a stay-at-home mom for school drop off, shopping, lunch and everything in between, then after school pick up. This polka dot top takes me throughout my day making me feel put together but yet so comfortable because of the soft tee shirt material.
In the outfit above I was attending the scholastic book fair at my son’s school with him and had some other errands to run during the daytime. Keeping true to my mom style I paired the polka dot top with light wash jeans, white flats, and my Kate Spade cross body. I wanted to elevate the basic combo a little more so I injected a pop of color with my favorite mustard tassel earrings. It immediately made me feel amazing and stylish!
In the outfit below I was headed out with my daughter for a day running errands picking up those last minute items I needed for her party. I am all about finding great pieces for a steal I found these mustard yellow paper bag waist pants for only $7, now that’s a steal! I loved both the color and ruffle waist detail that I couldn’t wait to wear them. I already knew that the color worked well with polka dots and knew the two would look great together. I wanted to share with you a more dressed up daytime look. Keeping with the circle pattern I brought along my a new day circle bag from Target and black mules for chasing after my toddler. My hair needed to be washed, therefore that is why I am rocking the classic MOM bun.
Getting dressed up just a little helps me as a stay at home mom feel good about myself at home and while out with my kids. I aim to bring you simple affordable outfit ideas that you can inspire you to create outfits that get you through the day too. I hope that you enjoyed these two polka dot outfit combos and you are now convinced you need polka dots in your wardrobe too!
Now that I am a stay home mom coffee is my drink of choice when I need an energy boost but to be honest I have always preferred coffee over tea. Even when I did work outside of my home I would typically I make my first cup of coffee at home before I left for the day. Since I am spending my days closer to home, living that mom life, I have found a few local coffee spots in plantation that I have fallen in love with and not just for their numerous choices in coffee they have great food options too. I am coffee lover just like any other who will stop at a nearby Starbucks for their pink drink, I would rather find and support smaller local businesses. Here are three of my favorite local coffee shops in plantation that are on my daily route and have been where this mom stops to get that afternoon iced coffee and snack break with one of the little ones in tow.
Since becoming a mom I needed to find places or things to do with my kids during the day just to keep my sanity. One of my favorite coffee shops and where I have been stopping in for a while now is Ella’s cafe. It is near by my son’s my gymclasses so it is conveniently located and caters to little ones. It really was an unexpected find for us, but we have grown to love it, the staff is always friendly and they give great recommendations when it’s your first time or can’t decide. One day I wasn’t sure about what I wanted so they suggested a cold brew with Ellas hazelnut syrup and since then it has been my go to drink. The ambiance is also wonderful you feel like you’ve stepped into a another world where you can relax, sip coffee, and enjoy some good music. My kids also love Ella’s mini banana bread loaves and we can both take a break at the tiny kids table while I enjoy my Con Panna and chocolate twist.
These days our routine has changed a bit with the start of the school year and my preschooler has started VPK, I have been stopping in at Lucky’s Market more often now. They are also located in the Plantation area nearby our montessori school so it is great after drop off I can get a coffee and pick up groceriecs if I need too. If your like me and are on a mom budget then stopping at Luckys Market is for you; it is only $2 dollars for a small coffee with cream and sugar. Plus I get to enjoy a fun conversation with the barista while my daughter ask “WHY” as loud as she can. She is the only thing you can hear as I walk down the isles, we have the best conversations while I shop. It makes for a wonderful morning cup of joe! They also have a fresh bakery section where I’ll get us some breakfast before heading home.
Another great option for coffee in plantation or if your looking for some unique pastries, vegan freindly food options then I reccomend you give Parlour Vegan Bakery a try. Also on our new route to and from school we find ourselves stopping in here more often for an after school snack. My son will ask if we can stop at the fun “Donut” shop where we took photos for this post. You will find some great vegan food options from sweet and savory empanadas, hot dogs, donuts, and cupcakes. You can also special order any of their cakes, cupcakes, cookies for any occassaion. They have some cute halloween cookies and cakes available right now, shop here.
If your ever in the plantation area or are a local I hope this is helpful to you when choose your next cup of coffee. Or if you are a stay at home mom, new mom, new to the area and need to find a coffee spot then these are a some of my favorites.
What are some of your favorite coffee shops? and where are they located? Leave me a comment I would love to know some of your fave’s.

Back with another DENIM fav, the denim mini skirt! In my previous post here, I wanted to share some of my denim inspired outfit ideas for a busy stay at home mom.
As I mentioned I am a denim lover and will always find a way to wear it. One of the most classics is a denim mini. Yes, I have some really skinny legs and a small butt, who cares. I am a Petite Mom who loves to wear a denim miniskirt whenever I can. I’ll share a little secret with you the one I am wearing is actually a little girls denim skirt. Which is amazing because I can remember thinking once upon a time that I would never fit into something so small after having my son. So it doesn’t matter what your size or shape is mommas, you can wear it too! I couldn’t find one that fit me in juniors or women’s so I checked the little girl’s section and found this boho causal denim skirt.
A denim skirt is a must-have for all the warm weather here in south Florida, as well as a fun boater hat that helps keep the sun off your face. With some many ways to style a denim skirt — you really can’t go wrong. Most days I am in a pair of jeans but I love having options in my closet for when I want something different. On this Saturday I styled this denim mini skirt with a bright yellow striped button up that I tied in front & added my sister’s boater hat (thanks sis!). The straw bag, an Amazon find, is another natural element that gives the whole look that casual boho weekend ready vibe!
I even tried a little side braid to keep my hair out of my face and it wouldn’t flatten out my hair from wearing the boater hat.
This boho casual denim mini combo was the perfect outfit for a HOT Saturday in Fort Lauderdale! I enjoyed a stroll down Las Olas with the family and filled our bellies with a grilled octopus at Casasensei.
If you are a petite mom like myself don’t be afraid to shop in the little girl’s section they have on-trend pieces that are half the price. So your not only saving yourself some money mom you will look cinfully stylish. I hope that this you enjoyed this casual boho weekend look!
