I had the honor of photographing this lovely little strawberry blonde this past month. She was an absolute doll! I truly enjoyed photographing this young family and their first born and I’m looking forward to documenting their first year together.
This sweet girl and her loving family came to visit me over Christmas and I just fell in love. I hope that you’ll enjoy her lavender and gray gallery packed full of vintage bonnets and wraps. This is truly one of my favorite galleries to come out of my studio to date.
Its that time of year again. The pace is frenetic, there just isn’t enough time in the day and on top of all of the normal pressures there’s the pressure of finding perfect gifts. Last year I wrote a post about simplifying gift giving and along with it I detailed some of the gifts that I thought were perfect for holiday giving. So, back by popular demand, here is the CCP holiday gift guide for 2018.
Hookey Ring Toss: It may sound silly but this game is a hit. I have one in the studio and my clients play it all the time. Both kids and adults get a kick out of it.
Simply the coolest! This pop-up extravaganza transforms into six fully functional tools: a real working planetarium projecting the constellations, a musical instrument complete with strings for strumming, a geometric drawing generator, an infinite calendar, a message decoder, and even a speaker that amplifies sound.
These are always a go to gift for me. (Probably because they bring out my inner beach hippie). I keep several in my car as they’re perfect for sporting events, trips to the park and beach and of course, photo shoots
Of course there would be a camera! People ask me all the time what kind of camera is the best and I always answer that its the one you have with you and that you’re able to use. There’s really no need to buy a DSLR unless you’re fully committed to investing in lenses. Instead, choose this. I think a GoPro delivers amazing results and is super versatile.
Hold a virtual object in your hand. Seriously. This is the most fun STEM toy I’ve seen in a while. I bought the two pack for my twins and I’ve been playing with it ever since. It may not even make it under the tree. This works in conjunction with your smartphone.
Baby Declan’s mom sought me out in November to capture her sweet boys first days. Declan is the first born to these wonderful parents and they wanted to honor his namesake, a family member who played Major League Baseball. Of course, I was thrilled to have him in the studio. Please have a look through at one of Bethesda Maryland’s youngest new residents.
Here’s to finding a secret spot with fantastic light! I stumbled upon this gem of a location earlier in the Fall and was reluctant to try something new until it came time for a session with one of my long standing clients. It was perfect for them and their rough and tumble boys but and the light here was just sublime. I feel very lucky to have found it and I’m even more lucky to be able to capture memories for my wonderfully fun clients here. Check out all of the fun we had at our new secret spot.
Fall Family Sessions are such a fun occasion for me. I love to see all of my returning clients as well as meeting new members of the CCP family. Watching the children grow and change and seeing my families play together is simply wonderful. I’m over the moon to be able to document their joyous time together in my unique way of combining traditional portraits with a more contemporary and journalistic spin. I’m sure that all of my families would agree that we capture the purest laughs and most genuine smiles just by interacting. Its much more fun than posing. Have a look through the W family’s session and be sure to contact me if you’re interested in learning more about the family portrait experience.
