Nice country site on the outskirts of Nantwich but only minutes from the historic town centre, the “secret bunker” is a short drive away and Dagefields Crafts and Antiques is always worth a visit.
Directions, get yourself into Nantwich and follow brown signs for the secret bunker, as you go out into the country (A530) you will pass a lake on your right and shortly after you will turn left into Coole Lane. After approx. half a mile and as the lane bends right go straight ahead through stone pillars and up dirt lane, as you reach the site the rally field is to the right.
The weather was kind in the stunning setting of Weston Park, to the Bell Inn for Jimmy’s 60th birthday bash on Friday and for Steve’s he and Yvonne served up a Sunday evening meal treat. Got to say this was a really good rally, World Championship Darts, Sophie took the junior title, Peter the men’s and Gaynor the woman’s and overall world champion ( god help me). It was good to see Brian G pity Marie was not fit enough to come along but all the best hope to see you both soon.
This is a Thursday rally, this a really good rally venue and at this time of year really special, plenty of walks around the grounds and plenty to visit in the area. Fun and games throughout the weekend, party heads and smiley faces only so just be yourself.
Directions, you all know how to get there but if unsure give me a bell.
Although there were only three units this was a really enjoyable rally with afternoon cream tea, buffet suppers and full English breakfast. Foodfest worth a visit and the weather was dry but the wind a little chilly at times. Plenty of games played and some very funny games of one card, Steve and his biker chick Yvonne took to the open road on there new Triumph what ever is was. Smashing free and easy weekend thanks to all.
Well owing to various circumstances there will be only three units on this rally so a nice free and easy for me. Hope everybody enjoys there weekend whatever you get up to I know we will as there is plenty to do and plenty of places to visit as well as the Foodfest. No doubt the sequence and train game will be well used and I have a new box of charades which I might open.
I think everybody knows the way but if unsure give me a bell.
FAB – U – LAS a brilliant weekend on our return to what was Dearnford Lake, the new owners have done a great job of regenerating the place and with the weather Turkey style, the rally field lovely and loads to do in and around the site. The owners for a fee allowed the yacht club to sail the lake and shall we say they came back “sun kissed”. Lots of controversy on the games nights the biggest being who turned Peters fire on, there was a thrilling men v womens home or away style quiz which the girls won 19-18. Terrific weekend at a wonderful venue and one we will be talking about for a long time.
This venue is the old Dearnford Lake site (thanks to Steve and Yvonne for putting us back in touch), plenty of grass area for a walk and a lake for nice view and a walk around. Bank holiday fun and games and what ever else we can come up with. Model yacht section will have a sailing session over the weekend and diners club out on Thursday, come on along and join the fun.
Directions, head for Whitchurch either on the A41 or A49 as you get to Whitchurch the two roads meet at a roundabout. Carry on down the A41 Whitchurch bypass, at the second roundabout take the fourth exit sign B5476 Wem (Tilstock Road) and although on Google it is still showing Dearnford Lake I believe the signs now say Alderford Lake, the site entrance is a few hundred yards on the left.
