I'm a busy CEO. Chances are you are a busy (insert your title here). I was recently taking Q&A from an audience and someone came right out and asked, "How much of your content do you create yourself?" I dug in a bit to his question before answering and tapped into the underlying frustration from whence this question was born.

It’s not too hard to talk me into a trip to New York. I’ll be the first to admit while I try to discover new places, I have a few rules in a few cities. I don’t leave London without at least one visit to the Tate Modern, Chicago requires at least one liquid chocolate drinking session at Goddess and the Baker and in New York, I always enjoy a cocktail at Bemelmans Bar. With Brooklyn as the Quirk’s flagship show I was happy to keynote, connect with all of my buddies from Women in Research and have plenty of time to meet new friends. Here’s a snippet of what I found.

Andrew Kuiler's experience with exotic foods is expansive, but his knowledge of cultural research is more impressive. Now add Momma Bird, Priscilla McKinney's expertise into the mix and you have a culturally rich conversation... that leaves you a little hungry.

Do you want to know how sausage is made? In most scenarios, the appropriate answer would (and should) be "no." However, when it comes to the inner workings of podcasting, thought leadership and being a successful entrepreneur, we hope you'd answer "yes."

When we heard that IIeX NA was headed to Austin, TX this year, we were ecstatic (along with the other 1200+ attendees). Between the artistic culture and insanely good food - we knew that Austin and Little Bird would get along just fine. Besides the location, IIeX NA had so many other enticing factors that made it a MUST DO on our industry events list for the year. Oh, did we mention the food?

Quick! What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term “Influencer Marketing?” If it was a celebrity sharing videos of expensive stuff on social media, you’re probably in the majority. Contrarily to the mainstream perception, influencer marketing can actually be a much more subtle and grounded effort that is attainable even if you’re not driving a Lambo around your private villa.

No one likes a blowhard.

Unless you are a professional wrestler or hip-hop superstar, chances are people aren’t going to appreciate it if you are constantly running your mouth about how awesome you are.

At the same time, being too quiet about your successes can have adverse effects.

Though MRX (market research) is sometimes thought of as one those mystical industries clouded behind a veil of mystery and intrigue, the reality is that market research is much less intimidating than it appears. In fact, behind its spell-binding moniker (seriously, MRX... coolest industry nickname ever) and mighty jargon is a simple purpose - to help people by better understanding them and their needs.
