This wig is Hestia is Golden Blonde. This was my first longer wig that I have purchased. I have to say I absolutely LOVE this wig. The character I am using it for is from the Rooster Teeth series, RWBY. She is the older sister of Jaune Arc, one of the main characters from season 4 onward. I have not brought her to a convention yet, but plan too in the near future.
I thought 2018 would be the year to go all out and make up a full cosplay. This was also my first time buying a wig. That year I watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World for the first time (I don’t know why I didn’t watch it way earlier) and I thought Ramona Flowers look totally badass and her outfit was goals. So I decided to try cosplaying as her. I scored different parts of the costume from Savers (thrift store) and a bunch of other shops and I used my own boots I already had. The hammer was tricky because originally I was making it out of foam but that was kind of a disaster. My mum and her partner actually work next to a factory that had a different type of foam and they ended up making the hammer for me with the heavy part made out of a solid block of foam. It was also spray painted. All I had to do was weather it by scratching some paint off with sand paper.
The wig was a little tough too. It was my first time styling and cutting a wig so I bought a really long Nyx Dark Blue wig so I had a lot (maybe too much) to work with. Then I darkened the bottom layers with black ink. I honestly think I did a good job. I was really proud of the cosplay.
Hi there! Not so long time ago I’ve started to collect EpicCosplay wigs so would love to finally leave a review!
This one (Silvery Grey NYX) I was honored to get with a discount (a prize for the IG contest).
I used it for my Kirari Momobami cosplay photoshoot (loose hair ver.) but also have other plans already
Nyx is a kind of basic model, suitable for million characters (with styling or as is) and you probably have had many similar wigs before. So I’d love to mention some advantages I see.
The color is awesome, the delicate tone that fits most silver/white haired characters and looks pretty natural. It’s more matt than silky, and that’s my favourite thing about EpicCosplay wigs, I guess. Wefts/Layers are sewed close to each other so the wig is quite thick and the cap base is the “old type”, the most comfortable, for my taste.
Had no problems to brush it. I did not style the wig this time, just cut the bang and it lies perfectly without hair spray, yaaaay!
BTW, I’m Russian, the shipping and prices in $ are little bit wild for me (let’s be honest =з=), but it worths it for sure! The shipping is fast and, for now, ECW is my best choice for every serious cosplay project I’m planning, thank you!
Super Sailor Moon Was made for Kami-Con 2019 in Birmingham Alabama. The costume was heavily inspired by the manga and the artbook. I did all the gradient work on the collar and skirt myself and used tutorials by cosmic cotorie to create the rest of the fuku.
Cosplayer Bowie is slaying it as Xayah from League of Legends! The vibe we get from her cosplay tells us that we shouldn’t mess with her, or she’ll use her feathery weapons! Outstanding job Bowie! We love it!
I attended LVCC (lehigh valley comic con) as Xayah using the wig i bought from epiccosplay and outfit from miccostumes
Cosplayer Pixel Magus is showing us how simple cosplay can be and how effective it really is while cosplaying as Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians! Thank you Pixel Magus for reminding us that even the most simple cosplay can leave a lasting impression! Our Hermes in Silvery Grey looks like it belongs on your head permanently!
While nothing is super special about the costume I did try to add as much details as possible to dying my hoodie and coffee dying my pants to adding the light frost details as well. The staffing is pvc pipes and covered with a paper mache-mesh. However, I did shoot photos twice in the snow. As for the wig, I picked out a Hermes wig. I really like how well this wig spiked for this character. Worn this cosplay to Anime Detour, Anime Central, and Daisho Con. Photos via Blue Tie Designs and Nude Carbon Studios.
