A little while ago we were invited to the beautiful and peacefull beachfront hotel Koh Samui, Fair House villas. If you are looking for a romantic escape in my favorite part of this island, Mae Nam, this is the place to be.
When we arrived at our suite we found a very warm and cute welcome gift. I loved the extra effort they made to welcome us.

We were staying at the Sunset villa and I can definitly recommend this room. The view from the balcony is stunning! You can see the sea and the mountains, a totally zen spot. As bonus there is a private jacazzi. Who doesn’t want to take a bubble bath with a view like that.
At the end of last year (wow that sounds like along time ago haha) I was invited to stay at ZAZZ Urban Hotel in Bangkok.
A stylish business hotel in the Rama 9 area. The hotel is convient for business guests as there is a co-working space available as well as a meeting room to rent. But also for tourists and expats it is a perfect location. As the hotel is opposite of the lively RCA. A super nice nightlife spot to go clubbing with the locals.
Check out the Onyx Bangkok & Route 66 nightclubs. BTW DO NOT FORGET YOUR ID!!! They are very strict here!
Last month Dusitd2 Khao Yai invited me to stay at their hotel. A beautiful and luxe hotel in Khao Yai. It is the newest hotel of the Dusit Hotels in Thailand.
Khao Yai is about 2,5 hours drive from Bangkok. Every time when I am looking for an green escape out of the city, this is my go to!
Only smiles for Dusitd2 Khao Yai
Arriving at Dusitd2 Khao Yai
Because we wanted to beat traffic we arrived early at the hotel. We had a little walk around and already noticed how quiet en serene the Dusitd2 Khao Yai was.
Our room wasn’t ready yet but we were pleasantly surprised with coffee and pastries. This was very much appreciated after a long drive from Bangkok.
A very warm welcome with these delicious pastries
Beautful spacious room with bath tub
After we finished our delicous coffee and pastries we were brought to our room. Bonus points on the coffee btw. I love my coffee strong and it was really good! We felt like real celebrities cruising around in a golf cart, not driving ourselves ofcourse. So luxurious!
The best thing about our room was the magnifient view of the mountain. You could hear the birds chirping and it totally felt like a different world. I think living in a humid and polluted Bangkok makes you appreciate views and fresh air like here (haha) even more!
We felt like real celebrities cruising around in a golfcart.
Khao Yai means Mountain Big (or Big Mountain as we would say it in English) and the Dusitd2 Khao Yai hotel gives a perfect view of the mountain. Khao Yai is a National Park and if you ask me it is the best one in Thailand to spot wild animals.

Pool vibes with a view
Everywhere you go around the hotel you can enjoy the gorgeous and green view over Khao Yai National park. Even at the pool you are surrounded by green.
Not all hotels in Khao Yai have a pool, because they are more focussed on the National Park. You get the best of both worlds in this luxe hotel in Khao Yai.

All the activities
The Dusitd2 Khao Yai hotel won’t leave you bored as there are many activities around the hotel. They even have bunnies an alpaca’s to play with. I am the biggest fan of little bunnies but also highly allergic.
Prepared with antihistamine and tissues I still had a little cuddle with these cuties (from a appropriate distance haha).
Swipe to the right for more bunnies, I warn you though. After this you want one too!
If you are looking for a more active activity, Dusitd2 Khao Yai also has a rock climbing wall. You can rent shoes at the reception of the hotel. Unfortunatly I didnt try it because I was too occupied playing with the bunnies. Yup, guilty! But next time I defentily give it a go, as I do love it!
Things to do in Khao Yai Dusitd2, rock climbing.
If you ask me the best meal of the day is breakfast. I love a long brekkie! (or brunch if I don’t want to get up early haha). Breakfast was served in buffet style with choices of western and asia dishes. Lot of yum things to choose from. They also had a egg station which a cook to prepair your egg just the way you like it.
Tip, go sit outside so you can enjoy the view a little more. It’s not that hot yet in the morning.

Romantic tree house
If you have something to celebrate or want a nice romantic evening Dusitd2 has something really special. There is a treehouse at the luxe hotel in Khao Yai where you can have romantic dinner. In the evening the set up is really lovely with all the lights. During the it is a awesome place for a photo shoot. It was raining when we were there so we didn’t have dinner at the tree house. But of course we had to do a little photo shoot.
Off to la-la land in my tree house
You can stay at Dusitd2 Khao Yai too
Do you want to stay at this amazing hotel too?
Pretty sure you were already sold after seeing the bunnies right?
Living in Bangkok for 3 years makes you wonder if you have seen it all. But don’t worry there is always something new that comes along that will amaze you as if it was your first day in this city.
I was invited by GoSnoop to explore Bangkok with a new kind of activity, a detective game. Of course, I was super excited to give it a go.
I can not give you all the secrets because that won’t be fair or fun. But I can tell you one thing, you will explore Bangkok in a totally different way. Spoiler alert it’s super fun!
Getting all the intructions for our hunt!
We were sent on a 3-hour mission to find a missing Thai family. The police were unable to track them down so it was up to us to follow the clues and find out where the family is.
In a group of 6 and a bag full of evidence we went to re-trace the steps the family took upon their dissaperance.
Trying to find clues to get closer to the truth
Explore Bangkok in a different way
What I loved the most about this activity, was that it was something different than just visiting one of the beautiful temples. We discovered parts of Bangkok where we normally wouldn’t go. Most of my friends never even been to this part of town. While interacting with each other and trying to find clues it is a lovely and exciting group activity. And a major workout too, go burn some calories! Oh, and do not forget your water, you’ll get hot!!
The game is not just for tourists, but also for us expats. Even better is to take visitors to this fun activity in Bangkok. It will keep them occupied for 3-hours (and a long nap after).
Side note: for little kids, it might be a little too much as it is quite the walk and the clues are not always easy. Which is also another plus point, because it would be no fun if it was too easy. We just made it within the given time frame.
And our group won by one point! Air high five girls!!
The game is not just for tourists, but also for us expats. Even better to take your visitors to this fun activity in Bangkok.
We explored the lovely temple Wat Saket (the golden mount). It was fun as half of our group never even went to see this temple before. It is a little hard to get to, because there is no easy access from the BTS/MRT.
Explore the beautiful Wat Saket
If you are looking for a fun activity in Bangkok and not just want to go see one of the temples (or major shopping malls), I definitely recommend giving GoSnoop a go. If you are a tourist, expat or even for a team building activity at work it is super fun!
For now, there is only one game, but GoSnoop is working on two more games. I can’t wait until they are ready and I can do some more exploring.
GoSnoop is giving all my readers a 10% discount on their detective games.
We all know the tailor shops owned by Indian families. There are so many! Never seen any? Go walk around Nana or Asoke and I am pretty sure you’ll bump into one. You can hear them from far away “tailor suite sir, dress mam”?
Or maybe you even fell for the NR. 1 Tuktuk scam. The one where the Tuk Tuk driver shows you around town for a very cheap price. So cheap you have to ask yourself “why is he being so nice”. Well, they drop you off at places (like a cheap tailor in Bangkok) where they get coupons for gasoline. Don’t worry we’ve all been there!
There are so many shops that you start to doubt about the quality and the price.
I love having my clothes made! I almost don’t buy any clothes in normal shops anymore. So where do I go and how does it work? Read my guide and get your clothes made by a tailor in Bangkok. (spoiler alert… its addicting!!)
Outfit made by tailor in Bangkok
Why go to a tailor in Bangkok?
There are many shopping malls in Bangkok, but mostly they stock up small sizes. Not sure about you, but my size is slightly different than the average Thai girl. I have curves and I am definitely taller.
Once I went to Platinum Mall (BTW the place to go for fake bags, eyelashes, makeup, Halloween costumes!). This mall has a lot of clothes too, very cute ones I must say. Only you can’t try them on and most are one size fits.. eh.. not me! So I bought a cute dress, seemed like a perfect fit. Arrived home and ended up with a cute shirt… way too short for a dress.
So after that disaster, I decided to find a tailor in Bangkok and made sure it was the perfect fit!

Follow these steps to your own tailor-made clothes!Step 1: Enter the world of Pinterest.
Beware, once entered the world of Pinterest there is no turning back! OMG, it is addicting!!!!
You probably already heard of Pinterest or even using it. If not it will be about time you followed up with the rest of the world ;-). Most of my ideas for clothes come from this program. So many beautiful fashionable clothes you can find here. All amazing ideas for your own tailor-made clothes. Feel free to Pin my ideas too, I will start uploading my pictures to my Pinterest page soon.
So the first step is to find the type of clothes you want to have made by the tailor in Bangkok.
Beware, once entered the world of Pinterest there is no turning back! OMG, it is addicting!!!!
Step 2: Go fabric shopping
When you know what sort of clothes you want to make it is easier to find a matching fabric. But where can you buy fabric in Bangkok?
The best place where to buy fabric in Bangkok is in Chinatown. The store is called “China World” and it is a paradise for fabric. Start at the higher levels for the cheapest fabric. On the ground floor, you will find expensive but beautiful fabric like silk.
Searching through all the fabric.
How to find China World?
Easiest to get to the big fabric store in Bangkok is to take the MRT to Hua Lamphong. Take a taxi or tuk-tuk from there. They probably don’t understand if you say China World. Just tell them to go to China Town and let them drive past China Town all the way straight until you reach the fabric shop (just hold an eye on Google Maps).
Hiengyoo Huat – Asoke
If you don’t want to make it all the way to China Town (it can be a pain in the butt during rush hour) go to Asoke. Another favorite shop of mine where to buy fabric in Bangkok is Hiengyoo Huat in Asoke. It is an old Chinese shop. Small compared to China World, but still a lot of choices of good quality fabric. It is more expensive though but saves you the hassle of going to Chinatown. As it is right off the BTS Asoke.
Twee Shop Bangkok
A little further on the left from the fabric shop in Asoke is Twee Shop. Here you can buy all kinds of accessories you could need. Like buttons, zippers etc.
Most of the tailors will have this themselves. But if you really want to make sure you get the exact button you had in mind you are better of buying it yourself.
Step 3: Finding the right tailor in Bangkok
The third step on the list is probably the most important one. Where can you find the best tailor in Bangkok?
In Asoke area, I know one good tailor and I will share my secret with you! If you promise to not tell it further lol.
There is a small shop near the fabric store in Asoke. I have been here multiple times and am very happy with the price and the quality of the tailor. The lady who owns the shop speaks English, which makes communication a whole lot easier.
I do want to give you one important tip! If your outfit has very specific details or you have something specifc in your mind. BE SPECIFIC in explaining too! Don’t assume they will understand, because you will be disappointed with the outcome. Just explain very detailed how the design has to be. Where do the buttons go, what color zipper is it, do you want it to be loose or tight, high waist, low waist etc.
Long story short, be clear and make sure they understand. Because style and taste can be very different for people and if you don’t explain they will make what they think is stylish and it will not always be your taste of style.
I do want to give you one important tip!
If your outfit has very specific details or you have something specific in your mind.
BE SPECIFIC in explaining too!
Where to find a trustable tailor in Bangkok?
To save the best for last, as we all like a happy ending. The shop I am talking about is called “Tim”.
Go into Sukhumvit Soi 14 and take the first street on your right. On your right-hand side, you will find a small shop owned by a Thai lady. It says ” TIM” on the door and the house number is 4/1.
Good luck and don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you have more questions.

A dream of mine was always to stay at a retreat in Thailand. So I was very excited when The Marndadee invited me to come to their amazing boutique resort. It was so peaceful and quiet and beautiful green! Definitely a treasure to be found in Chiang Mai.
A little paradise in Chiang Mai
The moment we arrived at The Marnadee we felt so spoiled. The people were so friendly, they did everything to make us feel at home. It felt like we were staying with family because everyone seemed so close to each other.
We stayed at the beautiful Lanna Colonial Suite. The style of the suite was very romantic and gorgeously designed with art and teak wooden furniture.
