Guest Blogger:  Rick Krause With the end of Marvel’s culminating 11-year legacy to super heroes and heroines, it’s not a surprise to find more industries vying for more diversity and support. Honestly, don’t tell me you haven’t watched at least one of the Marvel movies at this point. Or who hasn’t heard of Captain Marvel […]

Cryptocurrency. The promise of decentralized money that would bring power back to the people. Just imagine how much good can take place as a result?

Unfortunately, anywhere financial gain makes an appearance, people with only their own profit in mind show up to capitalize on it. There’s nothing wrong with making profit. But what if you could do good by helping non-profits prosper in the new crypto world? We’ve invited Alex Wilson and Patrick Duffy from The Giving Block to join us at the mic.

They help nonprofits get equipped to accept crypto donations and get them linked up with top projects in the space.

We’re also happy to introduce you to Justin Simpson, a community member at a cool new blockchain project called Ergo. This new crypto is mineable, ASIC resistant and making some bold moves.

So let’s do good stuff and learn about good blockchains right now on episode #276 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

What’s one way to know that mainstream crypto adoption is on the way? Not only does mainstream news report on it more frequently, but some filmmakers find it fascinating and begin documenting the industry. There are a number of blockchain-related documentaries now in the works and today we welcome Shannon Grinnell to the show to discuss her project, The New Internet.

Twenty years from now a public completely used to using crypto will be viewing these documentaries and saying “remember when they had printed money”. And 10000 years from now, future civilizations will unearth this episode and say “there was no intelligent life on earth”. But we don’t care. We’re here for the cryptos and giggles. Welcome to episode #274 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

What does decentralized governance mean for the future of humanity? How will blockchain upgrade Web 2.0 to Web 3.0? And is Coke really better than Pepsi?

Today we welcome Jeremy Musighi of Immutable Capital to the show to discuss two out of three of the questions I just asked. He knows quite a bit about blockchains, but we’re not sure if he is a soda expert.

As for us, well we’re just two dudes talking crypto and we’re going off the blockchain for episode #273 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

You don’t get the title futurist by doing what everyone else is doing. You get it by trying new things and playing with the new toys before all the other kids. So in the spirit of trying something new, today’s episode was recorded live on a very cool podcast app called Castbox.fm.

Their new Livecast feature allowed us to cover the news for the week with a live studio audience. And it was super fun to read people’s comments and receive call-ins for this show.

We talked about Bitcoin hitting new highs for 2019, Binance’s resistance to Facebook’s new GlobalCoin, the IRS will be issuing updated crypto tax guidance for the first time in 5 years, and Mr. Travis Wright unboxed a Kansas City Royals crypto collectible from Major League Baseball’s new online blockchain game.

Although this is a recording of a live show, you’ll have to believe us when we say it was indeed live. Welcome to a special Bad News LIVE edition of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

Guest Blogger: Andrew L. Rossow, Esq. The Internet evolved in a profoundly unique way. Contrary to the traditional information mediums, such as radio, that rapidly developed into closed systems controlled by a few large monopolies, the Internet was born from a stack of open protocols — layered on top of each other. Today, applications that […]

Money can buy a lot of things. Many financial advisors will tell you to diversify and invest some of your funds in precious metals. Both Travis and I like gold, as does Andreas Kalteis, CEO of NovemGold. They are seeking to change how gold is bought, sold and stored around the world.

Another thing money can buy can be purchased legally in some places… and not so much in others. While I was away in Toronto, Travis commandeered the mic and interviewed Michael Wagner and Gabriel Allred from Tokes Platform to discuss how their platform intends to solve the banking problem those in the cannabis industry are having.

Meanwhile, the blockchain train keeps chugging along and we’ve got some news continues to demonstrate that it is truly an unstoppable force.

You know what else is unstoppable? This podcast. In fact, we’ve disabled the stop button on your podcast player. So i guess you are stuck with us for episode #272 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

Building blockchains ain’t easy. There’s programming to be programmed. There’s coding to be coded. There’s blocking to be blockified. The truth is, I don’t understand that part of it all that well. But Ark.io does. And they’ve developed a new push-button system that allows anyone to deploy their own blockchain quickly and easily.

We met with Travis Walker and Justin Renken of Ark at Consensus in New York, and today we will share that discussion with you. We knew a little about Ark before the interview, but we got super-hyped as the fellas filled us in on the power of their platform.

It ain’t Noah’s Ark, but that’s good because then you’d have to bring two animals. Although today’s show does feature two Travis’. It may be two too many. So get your Travis on and listen in for episode #271 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

It’s a cold and rainy day in New York City, but crypto and blockchain enthusiasts from all over the world are here for the continents’ biggest crypto event of the year, Consensus 2019

We’re encased in a see-through podcast booth, almost like animals in a zoo. And we’ve got a number of fantastic guests here to discuss their blockchain projects.

You’ll learn about Bravocoin.com, a blockchain-based alternative to Yelp. Nick Saponora from DIVI Project pops in for a quick update. And we’ve finally had the opportunity to speak with Da Hongfei, CEO of NEO, to discuss what many have dubbed the Ethereum of China.

Two of two podcasters say you should listen to this episode. So we have consensus at Consensus. It’s episode 270 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.
