Suddenly someone turned the thermostat up and EVERYONE was out and about enjoying the sunshine including me! Obviously I did not have time to run out and buy a new wardrobe …so here I am putting my advice into practice, today with reverse layering aka stripping off! All of these pieces have been active during the cooler weather and you will see them all in differing permutations if you scroll through the menu and look at a few previous posts.
My style philosophy has always been to buy good pieces high on finish and design which will be versatile for seasons to come. My tee is from American Vintage but I like this similar one here My jeans are Zadig and Voltaire, these are similar here the cardi is also from American Vintage, similar here the bag is a few seasons old from Rebecca Minkoff but she still does the same style, similar here and the belt is the perfect accessory as this Blooms pattern from the iconic Gucci brand goes with absolutely everything, exact here and here of camera my boots are Chloe Susanna’s here …these are probably my all time favorite boots. That’s it for today folks…thanks for dropping by, Sarah x
I love neutrals, and I love tone-on-tone pallets, and I wear them year round. The only difference is more or less layers depending on the weather.
Style Philosophy: Trans-seasonal dressing…I like my pieces to work hard for the space that they take up in my closet.
The feature Photo proves a point. I am wearing white jeans (the same as I wear in the summer) similar here and here with a white cotton tee (ditto), I’m a fan of the brand American Vintage, exact here the cozy aviator jacket was from Zara (admittedly not that trans-seasonal here in southern Spain…but invaluable when I travel north) similar here the boots are no longer available but I LOVE these here and, last but not least, that POP of leopard. My bag here is from Zadig & Voltaire…they always make the shape but not leopard this season a similar style which I’m lusting for is from Jerome Dreyfuss here …for more lust worthy suggestion take a look on ‘My Wish List’ menu at the top of the page, if you dare ;O
Above I’m rockin a white blouse (old) similar here under a winter white cardi here and wearing a neutral bag from Alexander Wang (old), similar here and here the pop of leopard comes via the pants (also old) but similar here and the ones I LOVE here ;O
Above I’m wearing the same cardi over a pretty frilled blouse…as I’ve predicted before these will be all over like a rash this season ;P exact here and similar here the bag is a mini bucket from Jerome Dreyfuss exact here …more suggestions on ‘My Wish List’
For the look above I’ve reverted to the sweater in the first picture, no longer available, but similar here I’ve added dark denim jeans exact here to go with the scarf, my fav new addition from Zadig, exact here and here my leopard boots are old and well loved too, similar here and I love these here

I’m wearing a cozy knit cardi, exact here and I like this one here I’m wearing with a fine cotton blouse from Isabel Marant, exact here and similar here and I predict that white Victorian style blouses are going to be BIG this year…others I like, and they are more reasonable, here and here the mini bucket bag is from Jerome Dreyfuss exact here and similar here
I styled my blouse over a black lacy bra…hey the blouse is transparent anyway…may as well make a statement out of it similar here the belt is old, wish list Gucci one ;p here and my necklace is from Thomas Sabo, old and very well worn, exact here
I used a Versace lion head pin from a pair of old jeans to close the front of my open cardi similar here or any pin will do the same job… My rings are all old ones from Thomas Sabo…perfect for my rock chic vibe..similar here and here ….my husband thinks that all wedding anniversaries are silver ones ;O
That’s it for now folks…more looks and shopping guidance later. Sarah x
So here we have a day time look featuring sequins and velvet…Yep! today you can do anything… I bought my velvet hoodie on sale last month and haven’t been able to find an exact match but these are pretty close here and here the sequin sweat shirt is from Religion, exact here and these ones are very similar here and here mine is short at the front so I’m wearing it over a longer tee, from American Vintage, but I like these here My jeans are old from Zadig & Voltaire, I love the zip detail on this pair, similar here and here
I chose to add a spot of wine (It is Fri YAY ;)) in my accessories…the boots of the moment by Balmain, exact here and bag (from cult Parisienne brand – Jerome Dreyfuss), exact here and here I also like this one here and and this one here . My giant shark tooth pendant was from Spanish brand Uno de 50 and is no longer available, but this one is on my Lust List here and I also looove this here and here
That’s it for now folks, thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your weekends, Sarah x
There is something about Chelsea Boots that make my heart sing and when I spied this pair I have to say that my heart stopped and my eyes popped. I just had to have these boots…perfect for everyday wear with jeans or leggings, or as here, styled with faux leather, similar here Of course money is an object with me…that is I have not got unlimited funds (like you guys I guess) but on the other hand using my ‘Cost per Wear’ rationale I think that these will turn out to be a real investment ;D exact here and in plain black here The bag I’m carrying is a perfect example that justifies my philosophy, it is several years old, Diego style, by Alexander Wang. It is still loved by me and admired by others, available here and here I also like this one in leopard print (no surprises there then ;)) here I plan to wear my boots also with my new mini bucket from Jerome Dreyfuss (mega cool Parisienne brand) here
Here wearing layers for warmth and I never got to strip off either! Here I’m rockin black with a leopard print shirt, and a spot of wine…
The bag is Alexander Wang (old) new similar here same vintage here My boots are Balmain scored on sale, similar here and exact here I bought mine for less at Forzieri.com …may be worth a try
My leather vest is All Saints (old) similar (vintage) here similar here I’m wearing it over a long knit cardigan (old) similar here and here and a shorter waterfall cardi, similar here and here
Thankfully a coffee break and a chance to warm frozen fingers… My shirt is silk patterned from Anine Bing, exact here I bought mine in the January sale…not sure if its still available… similar here and here
Pants are faux leather, similar here and here …and I obviously don’t want to go back out into the cold again!!
After 10 days of capsule dressing I was ready to wear anything else;) …but what did my hand stray towards this morning? Blue jeans (natch) and then what the ….may as well do double denim with a spot ;D of leopard…and I threw in a pretty blouse for a touch of femininity…ahh! My jeans are old Boyfriend style (the older they get the more comfy in my opinion…these ones have been patched to hold them together! Similar here and here the denim shirt style jacket is from Anine Bing exact here and similar here The white frilled blouse is from Isabel Marant Etoile exact here and similar but less expensive here My boots are also Marant and were on sale from the same site here and my bag is Jerome Dreyfuss here (I got mine from The Outnet considerably reduced…try hunting for it from the link to the Marant boots if you like).
Apart from my Zadig & Voltaire obsession I do have one for Chloe accessories to ;P I love this mini backpack style…in all of the different colors too…eak!!!
OK so this is a big ticket item, as in BIG ;O…but cost per wear it will become a bargain within a year, or maybe two…meanwhile it will garner masses of compliments and you can wear it with any old rag because no one will notice anything else…Yay!
Justification complete ;D Just one problem…gotta find the money! Check it out if you dare here and here and an alternative by the diffusion line (therefor cheaper) See by Chloe here I also like this one from Burberry here and this streamlined one from Loeffler Randall on sale here
