If anyone knows about the pressure to hit certain relationship milestones by a certain age, it’s me. I wanted to have had my first relationship done and dusted before I started university, so I was left reeling when the guy I was seeing went off with someone else. I wanted to be married by 25, so I spent most of my early to mid-twenties frantically churning through bad dates. However, I was the shy and awkward kid in school so I didn’t manage to find a boyfriend until I was 20, and since that one bit the dust I’ve had a huge dry spell. In case you didn’t’ know (let’s be real, if you’ve been following me for a while you probably do), I’m also best known for not having had sex. While my friends breeze in and out of relationships, I’m left looking at my metaphorical watch wondering “WHY HASN’T THIS HAPPENED YET?” So when Amy walked into the Love Island villa this year and announced that at 26, she’d never been in a proper relationship before, it was a bit of a lightbulb moment. Relationship milestones are emerging as a theme in this year’s show. Yewande has been […]

No longer the preserve of hardcore hippies, healing crystals have become mainsteam. Victoria Beckham uses them backstage at her fashion shows, Katy Perry uses them to attract love, and Spencer Pratt reportedly has a $1 million crystal collection. But crystals aren’t just for the rich and famous. For just a few pounds, you can add some high vibes into your own life. So read on and find out how to use healing crystals. What are healing crystals? Crystals come from deep within the earth, and crystal healing is basically the idea that those crystals carry unique properties that can be used to enhance your mood and life. Everything in life is a vibration- and as it says in the Law of Attraction, the vibration you put out affects what comes back to you. Crystals emit their own unique vibrations, and can shift and direct your energy to align with what you want to attract. Where to buy crystals Personally, I’ve found that I’ve tended to find the best crystal places when I wasn’t looking for them, rather than when I’ve gone out specifically to buy crystals. The best places I’ve found so far have been in Camden Market and this […]

GUESS WHAT GUYS?! It’s my birthday today! I was thinking of doing a deep ‘n’ meaningful style post similar to last year’s one, about the woes of turning 28. But I kind of ran out of time and didn’t want to sound too miserable, so instead I decided to write a semi-deep-‘n’-meaningful list of things 28 I’ve learnt in my now 28 years of living. Hoping you all enjoy! What you think about, you attract into your life, whether you want it or not. For example, if you go round saying that “men are trash”, you meet men who are in fact, trash. A positive mindset is key 2. On the same lines, people like positive people, so if you need to have a good moan save it for your best friend, family, or therapist. Say it too the wider group or on social media, and you’ll just get labelled a complainer 3. If a guy likes you back, you’ll know. If you’re putting out the signals and you seem to be hitting a brick wall, it’s time to move on 4. The super-confident or handsome guys have the most immediate appeal, but keep an open mind and get to […]

I’ve only recently got into the Law of Attraction. I’ve been hearing the phrase for a while, but when I stumbled across videos on it on YouTube and found out a little more I began to sit up and pay attention. However, whether you’ve heard about it or not, we all inadvertently use the Law of Attraction throughout our lives. So here’s a quick introduction to the concept, along with my experiences of the Law of Attraction. What is the Law of Attraction? Simply put, the Law of Attraction means that what you think, you become. Our thoughts, whatever we focus on, will become our reality. For example, if you think about doom and gloom and everything that’s going wrong in your life, you tend to remain in that rut. But if you think positive thoughts, this can manifest itself into your reality. However, it’s not as simple about “think about something and it will happen”. It’s more the way we think about something. For example, if we attach an anxiety to a desire, or subconsciously believe that it’s never going to happen, it can push our desire away. And sometimes it’s when we let go of and detach from […]

I was chatting to some other bloggers recently, and a couple mentioned that they’ve run into trouble when dating as potential matches were put off by the fact that they write about, well, dating. Perhaps I’ve been lucky, as so far the guys who have read my blog said they liked it *touches wood*- although a lot of the men who contact me through my blog turn out to be weird (3 guesses why). However, in my opinion, dating someone who writes about the subject ain’t such a bad idea. Here are 5 reasons to date a dating blogger. 1. You might end up as a blog post either way One common reservation people have about dating a dating blogger, is the worry that they may end up being immortalized in a blog post where they’re not portrayed in a flattering light. However, this can happen whoever you date. For example, blogger Stephanie Yeboah doesn’t usually write about dating, however when a guy used her for a dare she wrote about it for Refinery 29 and the article went viral. But the reason it went viral was because that guy was a dick. If you didn’t do anything out of […]

I’ve been feeling a bit lost in the blogging world as of late. I’ve been a bit confused about what niche I should be aiming for, feeling like I don’t fit the “dating blogger” mould, wondering what else I could diversify into, and considering throwing in the towel and focusing on fiction writing instead. Well, anyone who is a fan of my blog can be reassured that that’s not going to happen quite yet. But I have decided to diversify a little and lead on from some of the witchcraft posts I did last year, and start a series of mini-guides to various mystical things. And to begin, I’m starting with a beginners’ guide to how to use tarot cards. Chances are you’ve probably heard of tarot cards. Perhaps you’re not 100% sure what they are, but know they’re some kind of fortune telling thing. If you’re a seasoned tarot reader with your own little fortune-telling side-hustle, there’s probably not a lot I can teach you. But those of you where the name rings a bell but aren’t quite sure what the deal is and want to learn more, please read on. What Are Tarot Cards? Tarot cards are a […]

Like a lot of people out there who are yet to meet “their person”, I usually have a few of the big dating apps on the go on my phone. However, the problem with this combined with the demands of full-time work is that I’d struggle to keep up with the conversations I had going on each app and end up letting (potentially good) matches slip away. So last month, I deleted all dating apps from my phone, and had a welcome break for a few days. But of course, I have to actually, you know, date, so I thought I’d download one, and make it my focus. I’d saw an ad for the Badoo app floating around somewhere. I’d never tried it before but vaguely remember meeting a married couple who met on it when I went to Thailand so I thought, why not? About Badoo Badoo was created by Russian businessman Andrey Andreev It first became popular via Facebook quizzes and games, before becoming a standalone service in 2012 There is also a Badoo website, but the company is currently focusing more on the app On your profile you can include photos, a bio, and details such as […]

Towards the end of last year, I made a new friend, who offered to try and help me out with my love life. This friend is male, and I’d say pretty attractive, so is probably the ideal person to do so. Anyhow, he ended up offering me some good advice,…

I’ve had a project/ mini-series in mind for this blog for a while now. General articles are interesting sometimes, but some of the best dating posts out there are the ones that draw on personal experience. So I’ve decided to start a My Love Story series which is basically what…

Little more than a year ago, I was a confirmed solo traveller. A few bad experiences had knocked my faith in other people, so I decided it best to vacation on my own. I also had a penchant for exotic far-flung destinations. Forget all inclusive- my idea of a holiday…
