Lol, flat nonsense. You are on the battlefield, my friend. You’ll never know if certain creative materials will give you a sky-high ROI or a severe ban by Facebook moderators. Right now there is only one way to check up your creative materials – to TEST them.
Basically, your testing strategy should look like this:
STEP 1: Create 15-20 unique creative materials. Use different combinations of images and headlines for that is the best way to find the winning combo.
STEP 2: Run these creative materials for a couple of days to see which of them has/have highest CTR.
STEP 3: Finally select 1 or 2 creative materials with the highest click rate and it is basically done.
We are surely aware that using spy tools will be faster in most cases. However, we are not seeking any shortcuts since we want all tips for your attention to be backed with knowledge. Plus a good spy tool is rarely free, and we spare your expenses.
Some tips for making a good creative material. To begin with, you should have some basic Photoshop skills. Otherwise, I would strongly recommend you to watch a couple of videos on youtube to understand what layers are and how to edit them.
As it was said above, unfortunately, there is no ultimate formula for making a good creative material. But in most cases it should be:
Bright and interesting. Therefore, animated banners usually win over static banners. But don’t push too hard. You don’t want a banner to be flashing like a Christmas tree.
Contrast. Quieter colours in the background and brighter coloured fonts with the call to action buttons are preferred.
Informative. If images contain text, remember that a short clear message works better than long complicated sentences in small hardly readable characters.
Inviting. Call to action buttons will definitely be a huge plus.
Positive. As it’s known, banners with a positive message and overall positive attitude usually have higher CTR.
No misleading. If you will promise a fortune to everyone who clicked on your banner, it may produce a better CTR but your final conversion rate would be low as hell.
Credible. Appeal to an authority that people trust. For example, like: «Rated number one by pediatrics association».

Before/ after teasers
Works pretty good since there is a simple logic behind this: now I am fat and ugly like the person on the left. Then I will eat that diet chocolate bar and magically I am young and beautiful like the person on the right. We also recommend using real people images rather than models. Because it can increase trust: If she was able to do it, then I also can.
SEX banner teasers
Boobs will always attract clicks. Especially if you are promoting adult offers and males is your targeted audience. I think there’s no need to explain why it works, but the best explanation may be found in Sigmund Freud’s books.
An easy way to get rich banners
People like to believe that money grow up on trees. So, there are dozens of life hacks that promise to make anybody rich in no time.
At the moment I would recommend using crypto related images since that topic is really hot and trendy.
The main objective here is to trigger people into asking a question and thus clicking on the image. The rule is the more incomprehensible picture, the better.
Where to look for images? Here Google Images can be of great help, and you sure know that. So, below are some other sources for image hunting.
Situation: You found a great picture for your creative material but it has watermarks on it. How to get rid of those watermarks?
Answer: Upload your picture with watermarks to the Google Images and hit the Search button. There is a good chance that in search results you’ll find the same pictures but with no watermarks.
Juan’s bonus case study
Juan lives in a Spanish coastal town called San Sebastian. During the summer and tourist season he works as a lifeguard, but in the winter apart from drinking there is nothing much to do. And since he recently dropped out of a college he had a lot of spare time but a little shortage of money. So, once he heard this magical phrase – «CPA marketing» and his life changed. Sounds familiar? Yeah, we’ve all been there He began eagerly exploring the topic and as a result – surprise, surprise – he ended up registered with AdCombo.
What next? He decided to run his first campaign on Facebook. A bit foolish from my point of view. Anyway, he chose Adcombo’s most recent offer at the time – Diet Star (completely whitehat btw) with Spain as a GEO to run in. I think you guessed why Spain. Reason number 1, this is Juan’s home country and he thought he understood the market pretty well. Reason number 2 – there is the highest payout for that offer – 18$. Ha-ha classic! Typical newbie’s mistakes.
And what his creative materials looked like? Now, have a look:

30 seconds into the campaign and BOOM! His account is banned! Why?
Look closer. Closer… Still nothing? Facebook moderators didn’t like the word «grasas» which in Spanish means fat. Such bans are common practice on Facebook and mature fellows know that. Usually after a few days of writing to Facebook Support your account will be eventually unbanned. Yet, this is not a nice way to start your CPA journey.
At the same time, you’ll be able to come across stories from CPA legends who managed to run a campaign on Facebook with dick pics as their creative materials. Basically, they are good at cloaking and their accounts usually have a high trust rate. But this is another story…
To conclude, my word of advice is – be really careful with your creatives materials, especially if you are a newbie in CPA marketing. And bear in mind, all technics that we discussed above remains just a theory. You should go out into the battlefield and TEST. This is the only way to verify if your creative materials are good or not.
“How to launch a CPA campaign with a small budget or without any investments?” – that’s a common question we hear from beginners.
To answer it as fully and completely as possible we should first discuss pros and cons of the “zero budget strategy”. The advantages are pretty obvious: if you don’t invest money you don’t lose money. And if you don’t care about losing money you are more emotionally stable and thus you can make rational decisions with a cool head. However, there are some disadvantages to take into consideration. For you to have a steady income without investing a cent into campaign you should spend a lot of time and effort on it. So, see for yourself, what resource is more important for you: time or money. If you ask me, I think that time is much more valuable resource than money, since it is possible to replenish money but not time. However, if you disagree with me – this article is for you.
Here we won’t discuss in details how to implement each method of getting “free” traffic, because that’s really not a hard thing to do. However, if you are interested in a particular method then let us know in the comment section below and we will consider writing an article about it.
This method is really simple. You should add a couple of new friends on Facebook and just spend some time chatting with them. That will help you to understand what your new friends are interested in and based on those interests you can give them a “friendly advice” which in fact will be a link to an offer you are promoting. I am even recommending to create a new Facebook account for that purpose, depending on what offer you have. For example, if you are promoting an AdCombo’s top-selling offer Flekosteel for which target audience is mostly adult men, think about creating a new account of the same age and with same interests as target audience has. It will help you to gain trust faster. But you should understand, that this method can’t be defined as completely whitehat. However, it is more effective than just spamming to a random person you met on Facebook.

There is another Facebook-related technique you can use. Try creating your own group. All you need for implementation is: creative idea for group’s topic and an attractive content which will be pleasant to read. Just be careful with ads in the beginning so they won’t repel your potential customers. And even as your group gains more popularity the optimal ratio remains 1 ad for every 10 topic related posts. Also, it is better to make at least two posts a day for your group to gain new members faster. People like getting information they are interested in fast and in big quantities. They don’t like to wait. If your group is popular enough you can even stop publishing your offers and start making money by publishing other people’s ads.
Again, we are talking about earning trust of the community. If you start spamming links on the first day you are in, no one will click on them in the best-case scenario and in the worst-case you’ll be simply banned. As a solution, you can create a new topic with a “problem you have” and let people discuss that topic to help you with solving it. And when the discussion is at its peak just answer your own question by writing something like: “Hey, guys! I asked my doctor and he suggested me using Eco slim to help me with weight loss. I think it is helping! Here is a link, if you are interested: link to the offer you are promoting” . By the way, Eco slim is also an offer AdCombo has and it is one of the most popular in the diet category.
Craigslist and other classified advertisements website where it is possible to post ads.
In the description of an ad you have posted (for example on craigslist) you can give a direct link to the offer’s landing. However, sometimes it is not possible. In that case, you can use an old method of advertising – giving a phone number. And when customer calls you, you’ll simply give him an address to a pre-landing page where not only will you have a description of a product but also a link to that landing page.
“Hey, wait! But how do I create pre-landing page without investing money?” – I hear you asking.
Well, there are some platforms that can help you with creating pre-landing pages for free.
I recommend using this method with financial offers, especially with loan-related offers. As an example, when customer has some problems with issuing a loan and he is desperate for money. He finds your ad on the craigslist and calls you. Here you can recommend him to go to your pre-landing page to read about loan options which are available and if any of those loan issuing offers will interest him he can just click on a link and fill in a form on the bank’s landing page.
Promoting via YouTube
The secret to success here is getting as many views as possible.
First, you create your channel. Then you decide what kind of videos to upload. Again, I will recommend uploading videos with unpacking and reviews, since those videos are really popular right now and they can be produced with little effort. That review should not necessarily be about an offer-related product. It will be enough to mention that current video is produced with a help of a company that is selling diet pills Eco slim (again, as an example) and give a link to the offer’s landing page in the video’s description.
There is even easier way of promoting offers via YouTube. You can take an already existing video of a product you are promoting and simply add a background music so that YouTube won’t ban “your” content. Don’t forget to give a link to an offer’s landing page in the descriptions.
Simple but not always effective method. Post a picture of your product with a link to the landing page in the description and a seductive hashtag (#giveaway; #free; #sale). But chances are high that you will get banned straight after your first post. That’s why if you have the «Black belt» in Photoshop it’s a huge plus. Use your photoshop skills for editing pictures and making your posts nice and native.
There is another way of reducing a threat of getting an instant ban on Instagram which requires some investments. We all know from Adcombo’s previous articles that each Facebook account has a certain trust-rate which is calculated using a SECRET formula. No one really knows what are the components of that formula but we can assume that depending on the amount of followers account has and the activation date the account’s trust rate is calculated. And since Mark recently bought Instagram the same trust criteria can be applied to it.
So, where am I going with all that? For example on fameswap.com you can purchase an account for 2$ with a total of 20.7k subscribers and as a result good trust level. After that you know what to do – use that account to promote Adcombo’s offers.
To conclude, when applying any of those methods you should remember that people don’t like when product is sold to them aggressively, but they like buying stuff even if they don’t need it. Therefore, your main goal is to suggest and motivate them to buy the right product. But for them to follow your advice you should gain their trust which usually is a hardest thing to do.

This publication is a kind of call for action for newbie CPA-enthusiasts. The main message will be “Keep doing it!” and “Test it”. This case-study was provided to us by one of our affiliates, who decided to pick the right way without permanent crying in forums. After reading a lot of theory he rushed straight into action bypassing all the chats and social networks. He took the first available offer named Electricity Saving Box for Thailand.
Let’s have a look at the lander options:
Our hero didn’t have a lot of experience in working with Thai offers. But what to choose? A typical user will start reading every CPA forum and joining mastermind groups to find any content about how to pick the right lander. Using this method he would have spent lots of time and … gave up eventually. Anyway, he decided to pick TE – Stability24 – TH – white&blue lander (the upper one on the picture), because he just didn’t like the character on the other lander. Also, he didn’t think a lot while choosing pre-lander as well and picked the first option available.
Creative materials choice was not backed by hundreds of tests provided. The publisher simply took the image from the pre-lander. So he wasn’t so confident that it will be an amazing idea, but he decided to test it anyway. We’d like to pay your attention at this because testing is the only way to reach success in CPA-marketing.
The idea behind the target audience is pretty simple: our protagonist didn’t know much about Thai users so he decided to set up as broad as possible. With some simple reasoning, he turned to target Males from 31 to 60 years old who care about savings and are interested in leisure and sport (as most people are, by the way).
Traffic had been purchased from 14th to 16th of December.
The results were as follows:
Please, pay attention to the total spends. There are 27,351 Hungarian Forints but 1 USD is about 267 HUF. So total amount spent: $ 102 USD
• CTR = 15.5%
• CPC = 0.04 USD
Let’s have a look at the statistics:
As you can see only 30% of users achieved the lander. Only 15 leads were gained while 4 of them were rejected. The newbie wasn’t confident about the leads approval rate. Thus he stopped the campaign. 85% is a fantastic rate. Nevertheless, it provided him only $19 of total profit.
The performance will go downhill in a long run but the idea behind this case-study is that you should test offers on your own and less reading theory and procrastinate. And we want to remind that the major cross-cutting theme that runs deep in this whole article is “Keep doing it!” and “Test it”. Only by combining these two methods you will become a successful publisher.

Make a purchase: someone completes a purchase on your website.
Lead: someone signs up for a trial or otherwise identifies themselves as a lead on your site.
Complete registration: someone completes a registration form on your site, such as for a subscription product.
How to create a Facebook Pixel?
The process of creating a pixel is pretty simple.
Go to your “Pixels” tab in Ads Manager
2. Click “Create a Pixel”
3. After that click on “Create a pixel”, enter a name and click on “Create a pixel” again
That’s it – you created Facebook Pixel. After that, Facebook will ask you to install the Pixel or send it by mail. To install the Pixel, click on “Install Code” and copy it to the clipboard.
How add it to your website in AdCombo?
Click Copy and Paste the Code
Go to AdCombo admin panel and that choose an appropriate offer. Then check “Postbacks and Pixels”
Then paste your Pixel code in “Pixel Code” or “Retarget Code” field. Note that if you paste your code into “Pixel Code”, it will collect information only about users who already ordered something. And if you paste into “Retarget Code” then it will collect info about all the people on the chosen page.
4. Before you start, you should confirm that your Facebook Pixel working properly. The easiest way is to download Facebook Pixel Helper extension for Google Chrome. And then just visit the page where you have installed the Facebook pixel. If the extension finds the pixel, the </> icon will turn blue, and a popup will indicate how many pixels are found on the page. The popup also tells if your pixel is working properly. If not, it provides error information so you can make corrections.
