We are an Eastern Orthodox Church. Our hope is that Four Evangelists Orthodox Church will be a house of prayer for all people to meet, know, and worship our Savior Jesus Christ as he taught us, following the liturgical and spiritual practices as handed down through the Orthodox tradition.
Congratulations to our students who completed the 2018-2019 Youth Group / Sunday School year!
Our kids were quite busy this year: earning of a St. George Scout Medal for one of our elementary aged boys, a new church sidewalk built as a Scout service project by one of our high school boys, several various book + topical studies by the youth group, and most importantly (and often overlooked) their valued and continued participation in the liturgical life of the church.
A big thank you to Joe and Ginny S. who led and hosted our youth group, as well as other families who hosted and chipped in!
Blessed art You O Christ Our God / You have revealed the fishermen as most wise / By sending down upon them the Holy Spirit / Through them You drew the world into Your net / O Lover of Man, Glory to You!
Troparion for the Feast of Pentecost
Please join us this Sunday, June 16, as we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. Following the Divine Liturgy, the Kneeling Vespers of Pentecost will be held. All are welcome!
O Christ God, You have ascended in Glory, / Granting joy to Your disciples by the promise of the Holy Spirit. / Through the blessing they were assured / That You are the Son of God, / The Redeemer of the world!
Troparion for the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord
Please join us on June 5th as we celebrate the Vigil for the Feast of the Ascension. The vigil will begin at 7PM.
Please note that as of this coming Sunday, May 5th, and every first Sunday of each month, coffee hour will be changed to a pot luck coffee hour fellowship. We are asking that our parishioners, particularly those who aren’t a part of the current coffee hour donor rotation, bring something to eat and also stay a few minutes to help clean up after eating.
This change is necessary to reduce the amount of times those people who donate their time and food, sometimes twice per month, would otherwise have to do so during the year. It will also permit those who aren’t regular coffee hour contributors an opportunity to participate and bring some different foods/drinks to break the fast. Paper products and coffee will be provided by the church. We hope that everyone can be creative and join in this fellowship.
As always, if bringing food for this is a financial challenge, you can be reimbursed confidentially for the food you bring, just let Lia or Father Gregory know. A new coffee hour list will be published reflecting this change. Contact Lia Krowzow with any questions or concerns at 410-652-2822. Thank you for your understanding.
On Great and Holy Pascha 2019, parishioners, family, and friends of Four Evangelists Orthodox Church celebrated the glorious Feast of Our Lord’s Resurrection with much anticipation, joy, and excitement. You can view a few pictures of the night from the Midnight Office, the procession, Paschal Matins, and the Festal Divine Liturgy, concluding with the blessing of Pascha baskets, by clicking on our photo page.
