I’m moving!

Not houses or cities or states.

Just online space.

My friend Benjamin Corey graciously invited to join him over at Patheos and I’ve accepted!

In fact, I’m already there. See: here I am.

It’s a great opportunity for me to reach an entirely new audience I otherwise would probably never get a chance to talk to.

The great thing about it is nothing is changing except the address of my blog. You can still follow me on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram just like before and if you’re already subscribed to my newsletter, you don’t have to do anything to keep getting updates from me. I’m taking you with me! Just keep an eye out for emails from me from my new Patheos channel instead of ZackHunt.net.

Most importantly, none of my content is changing.

That was something I made sure of and triple-checked with Ben before making the move. I’m not giving up any of my freedom to say what I want to say. I’m just gaining a bigger audience.

As for ZackHunt.net, it’ll still be here.

For the time being at least, it’ll look exactly like it does now.

And since Patheos has been kind enough to migrate all of my old posts to my new channel (ALL 8 YEARS WORTH – which is just crazy, I can’t believe I’ve been blogging that long), you can still access those old posts here or over there.

In the not too distant future, I’ll probably redesign this site into a professional page, meaning it’ll have information about me and my writing, pictures of my face so you don’t forget what I look like, and ways to contact me, particularly if you’ve got an event you’d like me to come speak at….which is something else I’ll be talking about more in the days and weeks to come.

Before cancer showed up on my door a couple of years ago, I had the privilege of speaking and preaching in all sorts of places, from churches around the country and across the Pond to the halls of Duke Divinity and the streets of Nicaragua.

I love writing, but I love preaching and speaking even more and with cancer now a thing of the past, I really want to get back into talking to people in person instead of just online. And, of course, with my book coming out next year, I also need to hit the road to help promote it. Hashtag: shameless self-promotion.

I’ll be talking more about that in the coming months and how you can have me come speak at your event for practically nothing (seriously, details to come so stay tuned). In the meantime, you’ll probably hear from me first in the form of Facebook Live book updates and vlogs I’m going to start mixing into my traditional blogging.

But that’s news for another day.

Today, I just wanted share the big news of the move with you.

Look for my first post over at Patheos on Monday.

The plan right now is to blog about once a week, more if there’s something that comes up I feel compelled to write about. But with book writing in full swing right now, I want to make sure I don’t stretch myself too thin and instead set a realistic goal for blogging. After I turn my book into my publisher in August, you’ll no doubt be hearing a lot more from me, but for now I’m going for quality over quantity.

I also want to say thank you both to Ben for this wonderful opportunity and to all of you who have been so kind and supportive over the years. Without you, I wouldn’t have this chance. Without you, I wouldn’t have a book deal. Without you, I wouldn’t….ok this is getting too mushy. I need to stop.

But my thanks are sincere. I really do appreciate and am sincerely grateful for each and every one of you. Your support means more to me than you’ll ever know.

See you at Patheos!

Your 2018 American Jesus Madness champion is….

#ChurchToo

And the outcome was never really in doubt.

Well, that’s not exactly true.

Personally, I never expected #ChurchToo to get anywhere close to the championship. The competition this year just seemed too tough. But once it got rolling, #ChurchToo steamrolled the competition blowing out opponents left and right before setting a record for the largest margin of victory in American Jesus Madness championship history.

#ChurchToo didn’t just beat Donald Trump Mulligans. It demolished Donald Trump Mulligans by a whopping 92% to 8% margin.

Not to be outdone, our 2018 American Jesus Madness bracket champion also crushed the competition.

Winning for the second time in just the past 3 years, Richard McNeeley won with 168 points – 68 points higher than his next closest competitor.

So congrats to Richard on once again securing internet immortality!

And congrats to #ChurchToo for taking the American Jesus Madness crown this year. Here’s hoping its imaginary victory here turns into a victory in real life with churches stepping up as advocates for the victims of sexual assault in our midst by holding church leaders accountability when they betray the sacred trust they been given.

Man, American Jesus Madness was truly mad this year.

More mad than I’ve seen it in a while…which is really saying something.

Maybe things will get better in the coming year.

And maybe not.

Either way, American Jesus Madness will be back next year to welcome you once again into its loving, crazy embrace.

Thanks as always to every single person who voted and/or shared the tournament with your friends and an especially big thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out a bracket and enter into the bracket challenge. You guys are what makes this thing worth doing and I genuinely appreciate all of your support.

See you next year!

Well, I mean, I’ll see you for American Jesus Madness next year.

I’ll be back to blogging later this week.

But you know what I mean.

Welcome once again to the end of all things.

And with Donald Trump as president it might really be the end of all things before voting ends.

That’s because, well, obviously because he’s an unstable, impulsive crackpot but also because voting for the championship match will last through the weekend which gives him plenty of time to bomb North Korea or Australia or wherever Fox & Friends tells him to bomb.

But for reals, make sure you don’t miss that bit in the middle: POLLS FOR THE 2018 AMERICAN JESUS MADNESS CHAMPIONSHIP WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL SUNDAY, MARCH 25TH AT 10PM CDT.

Also….

As I do every year, voting results will be hidden to keep things interesting.

Voting is still unlimited, but unlike previous rounds you won’t know who’s ahead or who’s behind or by how much, so you’ll just have to keep on voting through the weekend as often as you can for whoever you want to win to make sure they do win.

But I’m not entirely cruel.

Follow me on Twitter or on my Facebook Page throughout the weekend for periodic voting updates.

I’ll announce the winner of American Jesus Madness 2018 bright and early Monday morning at 8AM CDT.

But that’s forever away.

Right now, it’s time to vote.

It’s time to choose a champion!!

I’ve gotta be honest.

I never would have guessed this final four, er, I mean 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Especially not considering some of the blowouts some of the Exquisite 8 had before heading into this round. Some continued to hold serve, like Evangelical Lady Bloggers who look like they may be a favorite to win it all, but I thought Thoughts & Prayers had finally met their match in Jen Hatmaker.

Boy, was I wrong.

Same thing about Taking A Knee. Didn’t think Donald Trump Mulligans stood a chance.

Shows what I know.

Anyway, check out the how the 4 Horsemen became our 2018 American Jesus Madness 4 Horsemen below and if you’re in the bracket challenge, well, I don’t have to tell you to take a peek at the leaderboard. You probably already have.

And as always, make sure you head back here at 9AM CDT to start voting again!!
