The line of smart light switches and dimmers is equipped with QuickFit and SimpleWire technology to make building a smart home easier than ever

OKLAHOMA CITY – June 10, 2019 – Jasco, leader in consumer electronics, LED lighting and smart home products, today announces a new, enhanced line of GE-Branded Enbrighten Z-Wave smart controls with QuickFit and SimpleWire technology. With a patent-pending design and advanced technology, the new line of smart light switches and dimmers provide the easiest installation and most secure smart home solution for consumers to deploy in their homes.

QuickFit Design:The revolutionary QuickFit space-saving design features a rounded housing and 20 percent smaller depth compared to previous models. The elimination of heat tabs on each side of the switch also offers a more convenient installation and user-experience without reducing the electrical ratings.

SimpleWire Technology:With the SimpleWire technology, the new smart controls feature auto line-load sensing terminals, which eliminate the guesswork when testing line and load wires. The dual offset ground ports are another defining feature that save time, simplify installation and reduce wire congestion for configuring multi-switch setups.

Jasco’s latest generation of Z-Wave smart controls are being introduced in five in-wall configurations with toggle and paddle styles switches and changeable faceplates to accommodate any home. Unlike other options on the market, the add-on smart switches provide the same control as a master switch with the functionality of dimming from remote locations. Up to five add-on switches can also be connected to the same light, fan or appliance.

“We’re excited to introduce this advanced line of smart controls to Jasco’s robust portfolio of GE-Branded Z-Wave switches and dimmers,” said Cameron Trice, CEO of Jasco. “With the addition of QuickFit and SimpleWire enhancements, our Z-Wave line is filled with the best and most user-friendly smart home options on the market today, makingbuilding a smart home easier than ever.”

The new line of Z-Wave smart controls also now includes S2 security and SmartStart, which ensures each device has a safe network connection for enhanced protection and convenient device-specific codes for automatic pairing and effortless installation.

Designed for Interior Doors, the Assure Lever Comes in Two Models and Four Smart Home configurations Configurations

BERLIN, CT, January 7, 2019 –Yale today expanded its popular Assure Lock line of smart locks with the introduction of the Assure Lever, a new lever lock designed for single-hole doors from side entries, garages basements, interior rooms and more. With a sleek, slim design, it’s the first non-deadbolt option in the Assure Lock series.

The Assure Lever comes in two models; a push button keypad (YRL236) and capacitive touchscreen (YRL256). Users can unlock and lock using their entry code on the keypad —the levers are key-free so they are tamper-proof, and there’s no keys to lose. The Assure Levers can be used as standalone keypad locks, or as smart locks that can be fully integrated into a smart home or alarm system with the addition of a Connected by August, Z-Wave Plus or Zigbee Yale Smart Module. The standalone version can be upgraded with any Yale Smart Module at any time. Smart Modules for Control4 and Crestron will be launched in 2019.

“The new Yale Assure Levers introduce further innovation, easier installations and more advanced integrations – all packaged up in beautifully clean designs,”said Jason Williams, President of Yale’s Residential Group. “It’s a valuable addition to our Assure Lock line, allowing our customers to put smart locks on their interior and entry doors without a deadbolt.”

The Assure Lever will also satisfy smart lock sister company August’s community, which has long requested a non-deadbolt, August-enabled lock. The two Assure Lever models mark the fourth and fifth pieces of Yale hardware to be Connected by August since the partnership rolled out with the Assure Lock SL, Assure Lock Touchscreen and Assure Lock Keypad in September. Through the collaboration, the Assure Lock line has Auto Unlock, remote monitoring, voice assistant integration, security system and hosting platform capabilities.

The Assure Lever models come in three different finishes –satin nickel, polished brass, and oil-rubbed bronze —and will be available for purchase at ShopYaleHome.com , August.com, and major retailers f or $149 – $299 MSRP (depending on the model and connectivity) in Spring 2019. For more information, visit YaleHome.com.

Z-Wave Alliance by Publicist - 4M ago

We sat down with Kevin Kraus, director of technology and integration support for Yale Residential at ASSA ABLOY to learn more about their time in the Alliance thus far, as well as thoughts on market trends in the smart home space.

In September 2017, the Z-Wave Alliance welcomed ASSA ABLOY to its Board of Directors as a Principal Member. ASSA ABLOY brings a legacy of success in the global smart home market as a leading global provider of Z-Wave enabled door locks, offering the largest global selection of Z-Wave controller integrations. In addition to its global success in the residential lock market, ASSA ABLOY also manufactures a range of products, solutions and services for commercial markets worldwide.

How has being an Alliance B.O.D. member influenced or impacted ASSA ABLOY’s growth overall – what is the most valuable benefit?

Being a principal member of the Z-Wave Alliance has helped ASSA ABLOY continue to expand the number of global Z-Wave integration partners, as well as capture new markets and expand our global reach. As a board member, we are part of the conversation at an early stage, and therefore, able to gain valuable market insights while our products are still in development. Z-Wave adoption is happening globally, and it is beneficial to our business to stay ahead of the curve, delivering Z-Wave connectivity in our smart lock products.

How has Z-Wave technology impacted ASSA ABLOY’s products and services?

We’re seeing smart security like cameras and locks become a key component of a modern home automation and home security system because mainstream consumers are beginning to be more aware of the ease-of-use. Our customers really value the convenience, additional security and peace of mind they get from smart devices like locks – they appreciate technology that enables them to monitor who has used their lock and when. Functionality that allows for remote programming and operation of their connected door lock when they need to provide someone access when they aren’t home is also important..

How do you think well-known security companies like ASSA ABLOY/Yale are helping make smart security more accessible to mainstream consumers?

ASSA ABLOY/Yale, along with other brands, are driving broader awareness around the smart home category and educating consumers on the value and benefits of smart home tech products, online, in retail and beyond. The YaleHome website, for example, is a source of education and information for current and potential customers. By providing Z-Wave enabled locks to multiple markets through various sales channels, we’re able to reach a large range of consumers and offer them an array of options when they look to add a smart lock to their home or business and integrate it into an ecosystem. The Z-Wave brand is becoming widely recognized across our global markets, so by including the Z-Wave certified badge on packaging, messaging, and on our website, consumers recognize the value of having products that are compatible with Z-Wave smart home systems.

What are some emerging trends you are seeing within the home security industry? What do your customers value most in home security?

There will always be a place for both DIY and professionally installed security, as there will always be a segment of the market that will say, “I don’t know how to do this, I want someone to do it for me,” when it comes to home security and smart home and want to choose installed solutions. But we also cannot close our eyes to the fact that there is an emerging segment of the market that will continue to say. “I can do it myself.”

Do you think that smart home security will move to more of a DIY model or do you think that professionally-installed security will always have a place in the smart home?

As the consumer market for home automation and security continue to grow and products become more consumer friendly, the DIY market will continue to expand. However, we believe that professionally installed services will always have a place in the smart home. Similar to other specialized services like plumbing and electrical work, when it comes to the smart home, some consumers prefer to hire a professional to ensure their network is set up correctly and functioning properly. Consumers don’t always trust themselves to properly install a system as important as their home security system and value the option to receive tech support when their system needs to be updated.

What does the future hold for ASSA ABLOY and where do you see the company in the next decade?

ASSA ABLOY will continue to be the leading global communicating lock supplier by continuing to provide cutting-edge lock technology to the global markets it serves. As we see more products becoming connected, Z-Wave technology will become a bigger part of our portfolio, and we’re excited to be at the forefront of that growth and the opportunities it brings.

How do you think current Z-Wave Alliance members can get more involved?

Current Z-Wave Alliance members can become more involved by continuing to develop and promote Z-Wave enabled products that consumers are looking and asking for as part of their home automation and security systems. Becoming a Z-Wave Alliance member comes with benefits such as great exposure and brand awareness for a company and their Z-Wave certified products. Members should also take advantage of the opportunity to participate in exclusive member events and important industry shows like ISC, CES, ISE, and CEDIA.

In your opinion, what value does ASSA ABLOY offer to the Alliance by being a B.O.D. member?

As a global company, ASSA ABLOY brings a unique perspective to the Z-Wave Alliance board, particularly in regard to market opportunities and future product and technology requirements. ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in smart home products and technology, and many companies look to us for partnership, innovation, and recommendations. We are able to provide a wealth resource and experience to our partnership with the Z-Wave Alliance.

ISE 2019: The Z-Wave Pavilion supports professional integrator growth with educational session and new IoT solutions using Z-Wave technology for commercial and residential applications

Amsterdam, NL – February 4, 2019, 4:00a.m. EST, Booth 9-E150 — The Z-Wave Alliance, a global membership consortium dedicated to advancing the popular Z-Wave wireless smart home protocol, will be focused on international home and building automation integrators at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019 in Amsterdam. The Z-Wave Pavilion, located in stand 9-E150, will host Alliance member companies demonstrating the newest Z-Wave technologies featuring backwards compatibility, interoperability and Security S2 framework.

Additionally, the Z-Wave Alliance will be releasing the group’s first-ever Z-Wave ecosystem report, detailing growth, tech advancements and achievements with past histories and future looking plans. The report explores smart opportunities for the smart home and looks ahead at what’s next for the Z-Wave Alliance in 2019 and beyond.

Integrators can learn about the award-winning Z-Wave Certified Installer Toolkit (CIT) that provides users with textual and graphical information regarding the health of new Z-Wave networks prior to deployment. The CIT enables professional installers to troubleshoot and diagnose network inconsistencies to ensure a robust, reliable mesh network is in place.

Z-Wave Pavilion members include:

  • Aeotec will be showcasing their new Movement Sensor, Smart Switch 7, and the new Smart Boost Timer Switch that has been uniquely developed for the European market.
  • Fibaro will show their new Z-Wave compatible Smart Implant, new line of Walli smart outlets, and the updated FIBARO Home Center App that leverages machine learning and predictive analytics to make automation suggestions.
  • Goap (Qubino) is presenting a Smart Plug 16A plug and play solution and Smart Meter that was developed to measure the consumption of 3-phase devices or the whole house, running on a 3-phase or 1-phase power network.
  • Leedarsonis showcasing their smart home security solution that can be monitored and controlled from a single app, in addition to their lighting solutions integrated with voice control.
  • Oblo Livingwill be introducing UI/UX improvements to their Z-Wave Plus smart home solutions, as well as integrations with Philips Hue bridge to bring a full range of Philips Hue lighting products to the Oblo Living ecosystem.
  • Thermo-Floor AS (HeatIt) will introduce their new Z-Wave thermostat that works with traditional electrical floor heating and hydronic systems, a new rotary style Z-Wave compatible dimmer, and the new Z-Scene Controller 2 that can hold up to four functions.

Other participating Pavilion members include Contec and ZWave.Me.

In addition to the Pavilion, Alliance Executive Director Mitchell Klein will lead a CEDIA training on February 5, at 4:00p.m. in room 203, to share the main differences between popular wireless protocols Z-Wave, Zigbee, and Bluetooth. Participating attendees of this training will earn 1.5 CEU credit. The session will explore which platforms are compatible with popular control systems, and explain some of the latest developments in the pursuit of interoperability.

As AV and IT management is becoming increasingly connected, Klein will also be sharing his expertise on how AV/IT professionals might consider collaborating with experts on the home automation and control side to manage integration of these two worlds. The AVIXA Flashtrack session entitled, “Considerations for AV/IT Network Managers From the Smart Home,” will take place on Tuesday, February 5that 2:00p.m. in room 13-N110.

“ISE is the cornerstone event for Alliance members to introduce and demonstrate their new IoT solutions to the professional installer community in Europe,” explains Mitchell Klein, “At ISE, we expect to see more discussion around IoT adoption beyond the smart home, as integrators begin to think about widening their customer base beyond A/V and home automation, and offer these solutions for offices, hotels, rental properties and more.”
