Valid

Hey guys, summer anime line-up for 2019 is almost here and personally, I am excited about it due to many reasons. I’ll say one of my reasons is that there are tons of interesting anime shows slated to air on summer and it truly is a delightful treat for every anime fanatic out there. In fact, I am seriously excited for DanMachi Season 2, Dr. Stone, and Fire Force as these three anime titles was on top of my watchlist next season. However, there’s an upcoming anime that occupy a special place in my heart and my anticipation for it is growing tremendously. That anime is no other than GIVEN – the anime adaptation of a popular boys-love (shounen-ai) manga Given by author Natsuki Kizu.

Given - a boys-love anime
Yes, I said it. It is boys-love or most people actually labeled Given as yaoi which sounds peculiar or taboo to some anime viewers. Even as a gay guy, I also have a very high standard when it comes to boys-love anime shows, that is why I am quite picky about anime shows portraying a sensual relationship between men. The reason is that sometimes I felt disrespect or insulted as an individual if a certain yaoi or shounen-ai anime cannot meet my expectation or produced mediocre storytelling of the genre. However, such is not that case with Given. Ever since the first time I set my eyes on its key visual (I never read the manga by the way), I felt like there’s something special in it. Therefore, I read some spoilers or reviews about it and found out that it is not your typical boys-love story. Upon reading some reviews, Given goes beyond how the majority of people define the yaoi or boys-love genre. It is a beautiful story of friendship, drama, and music. It is about connections between men whose bonds were strengthened by music and present their relationship in a dreamy and interesting approach with music at the core of its story.

The anime adaptation for Given had been announced on March 14 together with a key visual featuring its main character Mafuyu Satou playing with a guitar while singing as seen below.

Later on, a poster showing the four (4) main characters of Given had been unveiled as well as its respective voice actors as well as its staff.
given anime character visual

The anime is also added as part of NoitaminA summer lineup for 2019-2020.

The announcement for the anime adaptation of Given is also accompanied by a trailer which really looks beautiful and enticing.

GIVEN Anime Trailer

On May 16, the first character PV for Given had been unveiled featuring Mafuyu Satou. The 15-seconds long promo video shows dreamy clips from the anime and a fragile Mafuyu which somehow exudes a sad atmosphere.

It was then followed by another character PV on May 23 featuring the Ritsuka Uenoyama. I think every promo video about the characters gives us a glimpse at their backstory.

Given Synopsis
"It's stuck deep inside me and I can't get it out of my head. Mafuyu's voice is an insane and dangerous weapon." That day, Ritsuka Uenoyama started to feel that playing the guitar and playing basketball, both of which he liked very much, was becoming boring. He then encounters Mafuyu Sato, who's holding onto a broken guitar, and decides to fix it. The moment Uenoyama finishes fixing the guitar, Mafuyu becomes completely attached to him. However, after hearing Mafuyu sing it leaves a deep impression on him.

It’ll air on July 2019 with Lerche animating it. Among the voice cast for the anime includes Shougo Yano as Mafuyu Satou, Yuuma Uchida as Ritsuka Uenoyama, Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko Kaji, and Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki Nakayama. The staff behind the project were Hikaru Yamaguchi serving as director, Natsuki Kizu is credited for the original work, and Yuniko Ayana working on the series composition.

Well, this is definitely not our typical boys-love yaoi drama. With the music added on its plot, I personally believe that Given is going to an interesting and well-loved anime. If you haven’t able to add Given yet to your watchlist, I urge to do it now. It may not be your cup of tea, but it’s definitely something fresh to look forward next season.

If you have any comments or feedback about Given, please let us know by leaving a comment below.

Hey guys, I’ll be sharing some pretty shady I mean inspiring stuff this time and it is about collecting anime figures which is also one of my aspirations to do in the near future.

Jayem Sison Anime Figures' Collection

To inspire everyone especially my fellow otakus, I would like to share some of the anime figures from the collection of popular Filipino cosplayer Jayem Sison, whom I previously described as the sexiest male cosplayer from the Philippines. This 39-year old traveler seriously can boast a lot of stuff about him including his collection of anime figures which makes me jealous big time. Anyway, every time I saw his collection on Instagram, I always have this urge to start my own collection of anime figures too. Though such a hobby is not an easy one as it is definitely an expensive desire to obtain but achievable.

If you happened to check Jayem’s Instagram account which is @dizgeek_is_strong, you will find his passion which includes fitness (yeah you’ll see how hot and fit he is – that’s actually an eye candy for a gay guy like me, lol). He also shares his travel (which makes me felt like an envious kid), cosplay and anime figures collection.

Jayem Sison Attack Titan Cosplay

Let’s talk about his collection of anime figures. He actually has a room on which he puts all of his anime collectibles and it will really make one jealous. Anyway, his collections range from small-size items up to gigantic anime figures which will make you feel captivated and in awe.

Among my favorite is his One Piece anime figures collection on which he previously posted on his Instagram account, thus also lead me to write this post as I felt like sharing this feeling of wanting to start something I really crave for. So, Jayem’s collection of One Piece anime character figures is truly amazing as seen in the video clip below.

As you can see, he had the anime figures of some of the most popular and beloved One Piece characters including the following:

  • Monkey D. Luffy
  • Portgas D. Ace
  • Edward Newgate (Whitebeard)
  • Nico Robin
  • Roronoa Zoro
  • Jinbei
  • Enel
  • Big Mom
  • Donquixote Doflamingo
  • Dracule Mihawk
  • Sanji

Aside from that awesome gallery of One Piece figures, he also has posted individual clips of some of his bigger anime statues in his collection such as the following:

Akainu from One Piece

Uzumaki Naruto

Guts from Berserk

Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) and Marco the Phoenix

Roronoa Zoro and his Santoryu!

Portgas D. Ace by Jayem Sison

Usopp’s 5-Ton Hammer by Jayem Sison

Anime Figures: Naruto, Itachi & Sasuke
Anime Figure: Vegeta

His collection of figures and statues does not only include anime characters but also some of our favorite heroes from Marvel Universe. Among his collection are the following Marvel characters that we both love and hate.

Ghost Rider

Iron Man and Darkness

Jayem Sison & Thanos' Statue

So, most of his anime figures were actually made by Tsume Art which is a big name in the industry of Japanese anime figures and statues. Personally, I think it’ll be awesome to have my own gallery of anime figures too in the future with Tsume Art labels, isn’t that great guys?

Meanwhile, apart from Jayem I also follow other anime figure collectors in Instagram and it even makes my craving to become one of them intense and sky-high. One of my favorites is actually @rahim_masters whom Dragon Ball’s anime figures always caught my attention big time. As you can see below, he had those amazing statues of Vegeta, Goku, and even Frieza on his assemblage. In fact, he also sell anime collectibles. Therefore, we could definitely learn something from him about the business.

Another profile to follow on Instagram to inspire you on collecting anime figures and statues is @statue_resin_collectors (Christian Cabiati) who is a hoarder Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, and One Punch Man figures. I’ll say his huge gallery of anime figures includes some of the best that I had ever seen online.

Christian Cabiati Collection: Fairy Tail - Natsu, Aquarius, Lucy

And for collecting anime figures and any merchandise, it is always advisable to buy it in the shop where you trust the most. However, in this modern era, online shopping sites even make life more convenient for us though it takes some effort to do some research or discover which online shops suit your preferences, can win your trust and have the specific merchandise that you’re looking for your collection. That is why aside from Tsume Art, I have listed below some of the online shopping sites that you check to buy anime figures, merchandise, or even copies of your favorite games, mangas, light novels, visual novels, and similar anime-related stuff.

PLAY-ASIA – a leading online retailer of entertainment products from Asia. This is one of my favorite go-to sites when shopping for games and obviously for anime figures. If you’re also up to gaming collection stuff, then I highly recommend Play-Asia for you.
J-LIST: YOUR FRIEND FROM JAPAN - For people who love to collect Nendoroid and similar anime figures I would like to recommend J-List to you. They also have different products on their gallery for sale including some NSFW stuff for otakus.

JAPAN HAUL – Here’s another popular shopping sites to buy Japanese merchandise on the internet. They sell high-quality authentic products from Japan ranging from anime stuffs to beauty items, and even foods.

TOKYO OTAKU MODE – I dare say this is a giant company in the anime community in the English-speaking world. Being tied up and affiliated with different companies Toky Otaku Mode is definitely a top online shopping site to buy your favorite anime figures, statues, and merchandise.

These were only a few of the popular online shopping sites for Japanese merchandise where you can buy anime figures and stuff, and start your own collection too. I think I’ll start saving more now too, to start my own collection as soon as possible.

Anyway, having my own anime collectibles gallery is one of my dreams for the future to come and I’ll definitely share some stuff about it here at Yu Alexius Anime Portal. These set of collections simply inspired me to start my own anime figures collection and it’ll be awesome to have you guys join me in my journey of collecting anime figures and statues in the near future.

It’s the mid-season of Spring 2019 anime lineup and I am really happy that this season had been an amazing one so far. Once again, I am back to give you our list of Top 10 anime shows that topped our week no. 6 of spring 2019 anime seasonal lineup.

There had been slight changes in our list compare to our chart last week but all in all, what’s in the top spots had been there ever since our chart started last April. So, this time I’ll share my thoughts about which anime shows gave us a satisfying episode with awesome quality of animation and visuals, visible character development, consistent designs, effective acting and decent sound quality matched with great narrative setting and astounding storytelling.

Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 Lineup – Week 6

So, I’ll go directly with our list now and we have one of the giant title of this season finally entering the top spot as follows:

Attack on Titan
Bertholdt in his Colossal Titan Form
I’ll say Attack on Titan definitely caught us all due to that awesome animation with Bertholdt finally transformed into his Colossal Titan form and his emotional outburst during his short conversation with Armin on which I felt like even myself quite gone crazy watching that scene. Animation-quality wise, Attack on Titan topped everyone off this week. I’ll say this is a great episode with too much emphasis on Bertholdt and I felt like he deserved it to have some special time this season especially that we all know what will happen to him (I can’t speak anymore because it is a spoiler). Anyway, this is an amazing episode matched with epic music, in that aspect I dare say that Attack on Titan never failed us.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
Nezuko protected Tanjirou from an assault from behind
Falling to our second spot is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. I have to speak my mind here, I felt like Demon Slayer is quite lagging a little bit with its story in this episode but still, it was able to hold the 2nd spot all thanks to its great animation, effective voice acting, enchanting music, and out of this world visuals. It truly is an amazing show that will make you forget its flaws. Somehow, I felt like I had enough of its pacing though on which it goes to that climactic stage then suddenly, the episode will end and resume the story on the next episode and end that specific journey of Tanjirou and jump into another stage where we will reach the climax then it will be cut off short again because the episode ends. I felt like this is not effective pacing to keep the intensity and excitement of the story. I don’t know about the other viewers but definitely, this is becoming a flaw that I can’t easily ignore. Nonetheless, it feels great to see Nezuko doing great and assisting her brother in fighting off demons. In fact, I felt like she’s turning into a potential best anime of the season, isn’t she?

Fruits Basket (2019)
Friendship goals from our favorite Fruits Basket ladies
We have Fruits Basket in our 3rdspot and I am truly delighted that this anime had been rebooted and gave me the opportunity to watch it. Personally, Fruits Basket (2019) episode 6 had hit me big time especially since it tackles about friendship which is a very fragile issue on my end. I dare say, Tohru is so lucky to have her friends with her and it is so rare to have such kind of friendship, isn’t it? Now, I felt like I am jealous of her as she has 2 amazing friends with her aside from those handsome and funny Soma guys around her. And I believe that Tohru is such a kind soul that she deserves such a circle of amazing people.

Kono Oto Tomare!
Prince Chika to the rescue of our sick princess
The story is now entering deeper and we had been introduced to another character who will be an integral part of the Koto club. This is actually the first time that I saw Hozoki in a vulnerable state as I always believed that she’s that kind of a strong-willed woman no matter what will happen. In fact, this episode had led my friend to read that manga and I felt frustrated because she’s been throwing spoilers on me ever since then. Anyway, Kono Oto Tomare! simply proves to be another anime that will melt our hearts anytime soon and I think that I am not ready for it yet. Nonetheless, this episode simply serves as the catalyst for more amazing and heartwrenching episodes that will come in the next few weeks.

MIX: Meisei Story
Touma carry Otomi home
Finally, we had seen big progress in the story with our boys entering high school and making a name for themselves in the baseball club. Meisei High School former baseball team captain Goro Oyama is back to his alma mater and becomes the new manager of the team. I just hope it won’t have some trouble again with his money borrowing habit. Anyway, his daughter finally enters the story and I couldn’t be more happy to see her and Souichiro together because I felt like they made a pretty good pair, aren’t they? Furthermore, a part of me simply starts on shipping Otomi and Touma too which is kind of peculiar but it’s not impossible to see them together as a couple right since they are not related by blood after all.

Carole & Tuesday
Carole & Tuesday in their first performance in a music festival
Yeah, Carole & Tuesday Episode 6 is such a big treat to us. Well, bringing us all into a music festival, isn’t that so modern and cool? Yes, this week it feels great to have a change of pace and listen to other songs aside from our favorite girl duo. This time, we have the opportunity to listen to Crystal and other popular singers in Mars. Although, I really felt so sorry for Carole & Tuesday as they did their best to perform on stage but wasn’t able to get their music through the hearts of the audience. Anyway, it is something to expect because the fans are only wanting to hear some hard rock music and their light and bubbly performance won’t suffice for them. In the end, it just paved the way for our girl duo to meet their idol Crystal and also a one of a kind experience that they will treasure while they keep their journey on touching the hearts and soul of the people with their music.

Bungou Stray Dogs III
You might be thinking this is a date gone wrong? Obviously not!
This week had been quite a dramatic ride for two of our younger characters from Bungoy Stray Dogs. It feels great to learn something about the backstory of Kyouka and I felt that it is quite redeeming for her to able to find out that her parents love her so much even until their own demise. On the other hand, Atsushi found out about the death of headmaster from his the orphanage where he grows up. It is really a devastating blow on him because he had a conflicted feeling toward the headmaster on which it seems like he hates him seriously. In the end, we had found out that there’s still a tiny fragment of longing and affection that Atsushi had for the headmaster and it was later revealed that somehow, the headmaster had been a father figure for him. Well, did we also see Dazai acting so strange and wise in that scene too? I can’t tell but it definitely makes him even more interesting and likable character.

Hitori Bocchi
Aru teasing Nako over failed subjects
I truly enjoyed this week episode of Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu on which I felt like Bocchi really have shine when she’s making haiku. And there’s also the adorable teacher in the class who is terribly afraid of Nako which somehow makes the entire episode hilarious af. I so love this teacher but I love Nako even more and it feels great to see such an amazing character behind her tough surface aura.

We Never Learn: Bokuben
Furuhashi found out that Ogata the girl that Yuiga kissed

In our 9th place is We Never Learn: Bokuben which is returning in our list and it really feels great to see them back. It is actually a hilarious ride throughout the whole episode on which I can’t stop myself from laughing because of how ridiculous the story had become. In the end, it is still effective and actually made the entire episode dull-free and satisfying in making the viewers laughed with its twisting teenage romance humor.

One Punch Man II
The calm before the storm... as Monster Association about to attack
There we have Saitama and his crew sitting at the 10th spot. This is just the start of the exciting part of the story but I felt like the animation quality had been screwed a bit but it wasn’t enough for me to drop the series because I love Saitama, and the One Punch Man gang. It feels great to finally see Genos fighting monsters gracefully and even killed some of them though he had been defeated by some unknown forces at the end of the episode. We also get a glimpse of the monster king Orochi and he seems to be a pretty huge devil though I still favor Boros over this gigantic chunk of demonic aura. Saitama is making his way to the top of the tournament by hitting his opponents with a single punch. Tornado also made a pretty amazing appearance as it really showed what I love about esper powers. Story-wise One Punch Man Season 2 is actually rocking the spring 2019 anime lineup.

Then, we have our honorable mentions which include Magmel of the Sea Blue, Sarazanmai, Cinderella Nine in August, Magi’s Grandson, and YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World. In fact, Magmel of the Sea Blue had been one of the strongest anime that opened the spring 2019 lineup while Sarazanmai had slowly made its way to the list even reaching the middle of our Top 10 chart in the past few weeks. Cinderella Nine and Magi’s Grandson had been a consistent title in the lower part of our Top 10 chart as well as our honorable mentions list. Meanwhile, YU-NO had finally entered our honorable mention list two weeks in a row though if I remember it right, this anime had been a total disaster during its early start in our chart.

So, that ends our list for Top 10 Best Anime of Spring 2019 Lineup – Week No. 6. Which of these anime shows caught your attention this week, or which one would you prefer to be higher in our list? Please let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below.

Beautiful animation with visually aesthetic visuals and utilization of ancient brush painting are the highlight of Fog Hill of the Five Elements or also known as Wu Shan Wu Xing (雾山五行) – one of my most highly anticipated Chinese anime of 2019. This enthralling upcoming Chinese anime this 2019 is a top-notch production from China showcasing and proving that Chinese animators could compete internationally.

The announcement about Fog Hill of the Five Elements had been unveiled in 2017 as it was originally released as a 5-minute long short animation from Lin Hun. The animator behind the infamous 岁城璃心(Kui Yu Chou Yuan) which aired in 2016. If you had tried to search for keywords CHINESE ANIME in YouTube, you might come across with the video Epic Martial Arts Anime Trailer – that’s the first time that I encountered Kui Yu Chou Yuan, a magnificent piece of art with breathtaking fight scenes, captivating visuals, and pretty decent storytelling. With that being said, Fog Hill of the Five Elements is an ambitious project that may surpass Kui Yu Chou Yuan with its dazzling animation, graphics which really takes a lot of effort to do just by seeing the quality of its trailer and promotional video.

"Fog Hill of the Five Elements" - by Chinese Animator 林魂 - YouTube

From the 5-minute long short animation, Fog Hill of the Five Elements had become a grand anime project slated for release this 2019. Some sources cited that Fog Hill of the Five Elements will have a total of 8 episodes, while some stated that it will run with only 5 episodes.

According to sources, Fog Hill of the Five Elements Episode 1 had been finished while the rest were on the process of being dubbed. The anime under the banner of Nice Boat Animation as its producer, and Samsara Animation Studio. It will be directed and written by Lin Hun’s team of young animators using their unique art style of paintbrush-inspired graphics. Fog Hill of the Five Elements is an original anime which really sounds fresh and new due to rampant of today’s Chinese anime were adapted from popular web novels. So, I think it is refreshing to see something new that didn’t come from typical cliché stuff. Among the cast for the anime are Li Jiayi, and Guo Zhengjian. Due to a limited number of person working on this project, it takes almost 3 years for the anime to come into fruition but I believe it is amazing because they didn’t compromise the quality in order to finish the project immediately.

Although no specific date yet had been announced for Fog Hill of the Five Elements release, fans can expect that it shall be out this 2019. However, the anime did have a joint screening for its first episode together with another decent anime this year – the White Cat Legend from Nice Boat Animation.

Furthermore, a set of promotional image stills for Fog Hill of the Five Elements and White Cat Legend several months ago. Believe me, the images are as beautiful and fascinating as the animated sequence on its trailer. In fact, seeing the pictures from the anime reminds me of another masterpiece and it’s The Tale of Princess Kaguya – a legacy left behind by the late legendary Japanese animator Isao Takahata.

Over the span of 2 years, while the anime is in the making, the creator team drop some surprises to its avid fans such as the new trailer which had been uploaded on YouTube last May 21, 2018.

Later on, an extended trailer for Fog Hill of the Five Elements had been revealed together with the announcement that the anime shall be released in 2019. What’s even more exciting is that the extended trailer comes with an English subtitle which makes its story comprehensive to the English-speaking crowd. Personally, this trailer left me in awe and had me wowed enthusiastically.

To wrap this post, I am inviting everyone to add Fog Hill of the Five Elements on your watchlist this year and I can assure you that you’ll never regret having it there. This is the kind of animation that we don’t usually encounter, it goes beyond the cliché animation of the mainstream giants and the popular. It represents the small yet significant factor of the anime industry that delves deeper in bringing quality animation into life.

Let us know of your thought about this anime by leaving a comment below and I’ll definitely enjoy a great discussion with each and every one of you when Fog Hill of the Five Elements eventually premiere.

Ye Xiu's in-game character Lord Grim as shown in The King’s Avatar Anime Season 2 trailer
In just a few more weeks, The King’s Avatar will finally return for its 2nd season, though based on my observation in the online world and query about our favorite donghua, people are thinking that it’s The King’s Avatar season 3. I think that’s pretty understandable knowing that many people thought that The King’s Avatar 3-episode OVA last year is the second season of the anime when the truth is, it was just a special episode and the real The King’s Avatar season 2 will be coming in on July, aren’t you guys excited? On my end, I am literally excited because The King’s Avatar had always been my favorite Chinese anime and it’s the only show that dared me to binge-read the novel despite my unstable schedule.

The King’s Avatar Anime Season 2 Key Visual

A few weeks ago, the trailer for The King’s Avatar season 2 had been unveiled featuring a glimpse of what we shall expect from the anime. The trailer had shown us a promising water battle which means that it’ll cover one of the exciting parts of The King’s Avatar novel and that includes the part of the story where Ye Xiu is preparing his team while creating ruckus in the in-game world of Glory. Furthermore, we will finally meet the rest of the future Team Happy and how their first encounter with Ye Xiu happened.

This may actually sound trouble or spoiler but I’ll share some of the things or events to look forward in The King’s Avatar Season 2 based on the story from the original novel. I’ll keep myself from spilling too many beans and I’ll try my best to avoid any hints of spoilers but I have to share some necessary details especially for the new characters which will appear in the story. One thing is sure though, The King’s Avatar definitely will give us a great gaming experience like most of isekai or game-related anime like Overlord, Log Horizon, Sword Art Online, and The Rising of the Shield Hero.

So, let’s start our list of things that we must be prepared and excited to see in The King’s Avatar 2nd season in July.

  • Meeting between two old generals – one if the Glory’s textbook and the other is the most shameless in-game player in Glory.
  • Massive fight scenes on the water between Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim and the 3 biggest in-game guilds in Glory (Tyrannical Ambition, Blue Brook Guild, & Herb Garden).
  • Ye Xiu played a knight and infiltrate the Blue Brook Guild.
  • Happy Guild founded by Chen Gou as per the advice of Ye Xiu.
  • Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim enter the Heavenly Domain and create ruckus on his very first day.
  • A great showdown between Ye Xiu and Zhang Jiale in Glory’s in-game world.
  • The appearance of the Heavenly Sword team.
  • Exciting stealing of boss and chasing between the bigger guilds and Ye Xiu’s group.
  • The notorious scrap picker and Ye Xiu’s encounter is also my personal favorite.
  • Team Excellent Era relegated at Glory’s Season 8.
  • Team SAMSARA’s first championship.
  • The gathering of the old generals on Team Tyranny.
  • The growing household of Happy Internet Café
  • The real owner of Dancing Rain unveiled and his relationship with Su Mucheng.
  • Future members of Team Happy will be introduced including Tang Rou (Soft Mist – Battle Mage) Luo Ji (Concealed Light – Summoner), An Wenyi (Little Cold Hands – Cleric), Bao Rongxing (Steamed Bun Invasion – Brawler), Wei Chen (Windward Formation – Warlock), Qiao YiFan (One Inch Ash – Ghost Blade), and Mo Fan (Deception – Ninja).

That ends our list though there are still plenty of things that I could add, but I’ll keep this list at a minimum in order to avoid spoilers. Nonetheless, we should all be ready for The King’s Avatar anime season 2 which is slated to air on July 2019.

In fact, we are really being treated by The King’s Avatar this year since a prequel movie titled The King’s Avatar: For the Glory had been announced and is scheduled for release on August.
The King’s Avatar Prequel Movie "For the Glory" Poster

The King’s Avatar live-action drama is also said to start airing this year.
The King’s Avatar Live-Action Drama

I’ll say this is really a good treat to every one of us, isn’t it? So, let’s all ready for Ye Xiu’s return together with his new team in The King’s Avatar Season 2.

Yes guys, I'll introduce you to Chinese anime people that you can ask for help.
Hey guys! I’m back once again to discuss Chinese animation but not an in-depth one instead I would like to share the circles that I am following online in regards to Chinese anime or DONGHUA. I’ll say it once again, especially for first-time readers – I’ve been addicted to Chinese anime ever since the first day I set my eyes on The King’s Avatar. I’ll say it is my biggest influence on becoming a Chinese anime fan and thus, I introduced Chinese animation here at Yu Alexius Anime Portal.

Last year, we did have a huge change on our platform in the blog where we decided to mainly focus on Chinese animation while maintaining updates about latest anime news in our Facebook page, or by posting selected articles. I am quite happy with this and I felt like we finally had our own niche to discuss here at Yu Alexius. In line with this, I have decided to share some Chinese anime profiles & channels that became my biggest influences and sources when it comes to Chinese animation all this time.

These Chinese anime profiles and channels had been a huge help for me to understand and also delve deeper into Chinese animation despite the fact that I still have plenty of things that I must learn about it. I’ve discovered pretty decent shows from them. It also feels great to get updates about my favorite shows since some of them to share a Chinese anime news update on their page. Their presence is truly helpful especially that Chinese animation just started gaining popularity but it wasn’t able to penetrate the mainstream market yet except for few titles such as The King’s Avatar (which is set to return for season 2 this July), Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, and Spiritpact. Therefore, it is my great pleasure to introduce these group to you in hope to spread the positive news of Chinese animation’s rising popularity and also to help my fellow anime fans to discover hidden gems among the works of anime industry outside of Japan.

So, let’s start off the list with my favorite Guodong Subs

GUODONG SUBS www.guodongsubs.com
Guodong Subs Logo
Twitter: @Guodong_Subs
The very first Chinese anime channels that I’ve encountered is Guodong Subs in 2017 when I first set my eyes on I’m Joybo (Wo Shi Jiang Xiaobai) which they had on their YouTube Channel. Guodong Subs is a non-profit fansub group usually translating some of the most popular Chinese anime that we had today such as Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, Fox Spirit Matchmaker, Uncharted Walker, and the recently released JX3: Chivalrous Hero Shen Jianxin.

HAXTALKS www.haxtalks.com
HaxTalks Logo
Twitter: @HaxTalks
HaxTalks is my favorite fansub group after Guodong. I actually discovered my personal favorite Douluo Dalu (Soul Land) on their YouTube channel in 2018. Then, it became my all-time favorite 3DCG Chinese anime so far. Though I felt sad that this team already became inactive and I heard that its founder died so I am not really sure what’s left of the team or have they decided to make a new one. Anyway, HaxTalks did a lot of pretty decent English subbed Chinese anime.

He also does video commentaries on different Chinese anime shows and even on mainstream anime titles from Japan which I believe gives us a fresh insight about the anime industry as a whole. Furthermore, I always enjoyed his review on Chinese anime especially if I wasn’t able to watch a certain show yet, sometimes I check out his videos first before making a decision if I’ll watch it or not.

Chika Kudo of Kono Oto Tomare!
Hey guys, I am back once again for another list of the best anime shows that make our 5th week of spring 2019 anime lineup fun and exciting. Personally, I felt like I’m still in ‘cloud nine’ after the events from last week but I have to proceed with this week on which many shows unveiled their 5th episode.

I believed that this week hit us more emotionally with so many dramatic impulsive waves coming on us from different shows. Well, this week most of the anime really thrives on sentimentality which heavily gave us a nostalgic trip and fragile impulses.

Yu Alexius Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 - Week 5

This week, we do have changes from our previous chart and it couldn’t be more exciting and awesome as this time around. Personally, this is one of my personal favorite weeks as my sentimental heart simply enjoyed the anime episodes this week.

So, let’s start our list of 10 bestanime of spring 2019 chart – week 5 as follows:

Kono Oto Tomare!

Kono Oto Tomare! main guy - Chika Kudo

Finally, we heard the koto being played and it is such an epic performance that I can forgive the fact that we never heard a decent koto playing ever since the first episode of the anime until just this week. Somehow, I felt like I am truly satisfied and actually still craving for more. I am looking forward to Chika and Hozoki’s character development and truly glad how sentimental is Kono Oto Tomare! episode 5 showing that backstory of Chika and his friends. Seriously, Tetsuki Takaoka is our real MVP as he saves our main guy so many times already. I felt like shipping them actually but I rather want to have Chika and Hozoki gets closer and learn more about each other.

Fruits Basket (2019)

Yuki & Kyo come to bring Tohru back home

Oh my gosh! I just can’t forget how emotionally heartbreaking and satisfying is the 5th episode of Fruits Basket 2019 remake. Honda Tohru is such a cinnamon roll that we should protect and we couldn’t be more thankful for the two Soma guys saving her. Imagine walking in Tohru’s shoes, I, myself may have also cry but I believe I’ll definitely give a fight however it is quite hard to do that especially to people who give you shelter. I really feel her pain and I just couldn’t come to forgive her relatives though aside from Kyo and Yuki, that grandpa is also the MVP of this week’s episode. That scene literally gave me goosebumps together with Yuki’s entrance saving our princess and Kyo’s tsundere approach. In the end, I am glad that Tohru finally had a place that she could call home and it is such a heartwarming one. I can’t wait to see what other circumstances are in store for Tohru during her stay in the Soma’s household and how she will affect their lives for the better.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

Mr. Urokodaki give Tanjirou and Nezuko a hug like they are his own family.

Alright, Tanjirou definitely gave us a satisfying demon-slaying scene from last week and it simply continues this week. Our kind protagonist finally became an official demon-hunter after the final selection with only five (5) people passed the exam including our main boy. Tanjirou returns to Sakonji Urokodaki’s house only to be greeted by now awaken Nezuko after her long deep slumber. Oh my gosh, the scene that followed is one the most epic and heartfelt one that I had ever witnessed from an anime show. Urokodaki is such a father-material in this episode and showing affection for the two children who were never related to him by blood is truly heartwarming. We finally get a glimpse too on Tanjirou’s sword and I am eagerly excited to learn what’s the meaning behind its color.

Carole & Tuesday

Carole & Tuesday on their first ever gig

Sitting in our 4th spot is the amazing singing girl duo of Carole & Tuesday. As if last week had been a trainwreck, we were treated to a delightful dramatic mild performance by the girls in their first ever gig. No matter how advanced the society is, the world setting of Carole & Tuesday is so dirty as today’s modern society but it is not enough to deter them from hitting it big time and making miracles. I’ll say Roddy had been our MVP this week and we’re truly happy for him supporting our girls in every way he could. One more thing, Tuesday’s brother is quite a peculiar one. I just really have this feeling that he could be somehow a good guy who’ll support Tuesday in reaching her dreams. Well, I hope my thought is correct and I’ll wait for that.

Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2

The squad attacking Renier in his titan form

First off, I felt like the 2nd episode wasn’t able to live up to my expectation from last week. We had started so high and the intensity is there when Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 begun but I felt like the excitement faded with the follow-up episode. Nonetheless, we had been treated to a magnificent fight scene between Eren and Renier in their titan form. Furthermore, that awesome animated sequence of the gang on their ODM gear is truly out of this world and breathtaking.

MIX: Meisei Story

Let's all wecome the real ace pitcher - Touma

This week episode covered that disappointing loss of the team during the Tokyo Tournament. However, it does have a good yet selfish explanation in the proceeding episode. Nonetheless, this week is truly an amazing one with too much drama, action, fun, and baseball drama going on with the team. All this time, I felt like Nikaidou is such a bad character – a selfish brat who doesn’t care about his time, as well as his father and their team manager. (As of today, I have watched the 6th episode already and there’s a pretty decent explanation about this but I won’t spoil it for now). Furthermore, Otomi is such a great and fierce young lady, isn’t she? I really love how she spill the beans right on the spot for big man Nikaidou to hear.

Sarazanmai

Is Sara some kind of a divinity? I so love her in this scene though

Originally, I really felt disgusted with Sarazanmai and how bizarre it is when I first aw it's pilot episode. Good thing is that I never dropped it from my watchlist thus I am enjoying such a great anime this season. Sarazanmai may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if we will simply go beyond its peculiar surface, we will discover that it’s a precious gem, a real deal and a show with substance. Some scenes were quite annoying though especially the repetitive shots but somehow it is also a part of every episode that I dare say I am craving for. It’s funny and beyond hilarious, the animation quality is top-notch and there’s a tinyfragment of drama on every episode that I think I’ll never get tired with. Bottom line is that everybody wants to connect and Sarazanmai is really trying its best to connect with the viewers and pass its message about friendship, family, and the sense of belonging.

One Punch Man Season 2

Metal Bat and Garou epic fights but I am not satisfied

Alright, we had One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 5 in our 8thspot with its kind of underwhelming fight scenes between Metal Bat and Garou despite how great the story is. Nonetheless, it’s a decent episode with lots of fight scenes between heroes and monsters. Metal Bat’s younger sister is such a queen I say, I really love her and how she deals with Garou and her brother. It also feels great because we are no delving deeper into its story with the Monster Organization in the move and I couldn’t wait to see them finally made some big actions in the upcoming episodes. Saitama is also doing his casual overwhelming stuff too in Super Fight Martial Arts Tournament. I really love the concept of people’s perception of being a martial artist and a hero, I want to see more logical arguments about this issue too.

Hitori Bocchi

Nako once again back at teasing Aru's unfortunate circumstances and we're laughing so hard.

If I’ll have another favorite character other than Bocchi, I’ll say it’s Aru and how unfortunate she is. This week, we had been treated to Aru’s unfortunate moment's overload. Imagine going to your school one day wearing your uniform from your previous years, isn’t that kind of dumb? But Aru did and she actually survived such mishap. It’s even funnier that Nako intensifies those absurd funny moments while Bocchi herself is being dulled and a cinnamon roll as usual. Anyway, we all love these girls and it’s truly amazing to see such a simple anime could make our hearts satisfied and happy at the end of the day.

Bungou Stray Dogs III

Don't mess up with the Agency or you won't survived.

I felt bad by having Bungou Stray Dogs listed in our 10thspot but the rest before it truly did well. Anyway, we had been treated to hilarious spying stuffs this week and learn about the Agency’s former agent whose ability is so damn lit. Furthermore, we had seen Ryunosuke Akutagawa in a different light this time, he’s quite the handsome guy, isn’t he? It’s even more explosive that he had a very beautiful younger sister on which everyone had been stalking in this episode (because they thought she’s Ryunosuke’s girlfriend) only to found out that she’s actually Gin, a port Mafia member. I rather save some details and invite you to watch the episode instead because it is really funny and entertaining.

Among our honorable mentions this week includes the following:
  • Cinderella Nine in August
  • Magi’s Grandson
  • Fairy Gone
  • We Never Learn: Bokuben
  • YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World

So, that ends our list of Top 10 Anime Shows from Spring 2019 – Week 5. I am actually excited for next week as I believe that there will be some game changer in our list and I could even feel it as of now. What are your thoughts about this week in general and what are your favorite anime episodes that aired this week? Drop us a comment below to share your thoughts.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is Yu Alexius Top Anime of Spring 2019 - Week 4

Hey guys, it’s the 4thweek of Spring 2019 anime lineup and we finally had some pretty amazing episodes this time around from of our favorite anime shows while the others keep on being a let down.

So what we have this week is really amazing – a dazzling demon slicing scenes, a hero hitting himself with his own bat, a flashback revealing a terrifying villain, a fun music video-making session, or an intense assault by the wall. This week had truly gave us mesmerizing scenes to remember and fantastic stories that everyone could relate themselves in one way or another.

Yu Alexius Top 10 Anime of Spring 2019 Week 4

Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 officially premiered this week and we’re all in awe with how amazing its animation is. Personally, I almost got carried away with it. Some shows wasn’t able to hold their position from our previous list as some of the stories became stagnant or rather weak. On my end, I felt so disappointed with Fairy Gone but I’m still not losing my hope on it though. YUNO & Afterlost were definitely an abomination. Midnight Occult Civil Servants and Senryuu Girl is pure good vibes for me but as of now, I don’t see it coming closer to our top spots while the most peculiar and probably out of my taste when the season began is slowly growing on me and that is Sarazanmai.

So, those are just some short words that I have this week. Now, I shall start our Top 10 best anime of spring 2019 week no. 4 from Yu Alexius Anime Portal as follows:

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba
Tanjirou entering the Final Selection to become a Demon Hunter
First of all, I’ll say you’re blind if you think that Demon Slayer Episode 4 is not enough to reach the first spot. With gorgeous visuals and animation, heartwrenching narration, unsurprisingly heart-penetrating voice acting – this week truly belongs to Tanjiou’s magnificent demon slaying scene. On the other hand, it is also heartbreaking to found out that Sabito and Makumo were already deceased. Just when we only started to fall for them after they help Tanjirou in his training, then this bomb was simply dropped. Anyway, those were only part of the plot for Tanjirou to overcome his fear and defeat the Hand Demon. Surprisingly, we are all falling in love with Tanjirou’s sword style, aren’t we? Those flashy yet calm animated sequence of his swordsmanship were truly amazing and stunning.

Carole & Tuesday
Gus, Roddy, Carole, Tuesday, & Marie
We have our lovely girl duo Carole and Tuesday in the second place as they once again made another effort to enter the music industry under Gus supervision. This week, they made a music video and it’s a total mess but definitely a fun and entertaining one. Though, it’s quite funny and unbelievable how they had been scam by an AI. The good thing is it turns out to be a beautiful mess. It feels great too that they used their ending theme as their featured song in this episode and even funny though because it has the opposite vibes of their actual music video. Nonetheless, it turns out really good and entertaining as I previously mentioned. I am really amazed though that Carole & Tuesday bring music closer to us with its sentimentality and overwhelming positive vibes.

Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2
Captain Levi and Hange in Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 Episode 1
Hell yeah! Eren, Mikasa, Armin and the rest of the corps is coming back for Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 and they return in such a flashy awesome start. Linked Horizon is back at it again giving us another epic and godly music with the Gurren no Yumiya vibes and Shinzo wou Sasageyo. The animation was pretty good with some of the best angles presented for this seasonal lineup. Animation quality-wise, Attack on Titan sits atop the pyramid this season together with Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The ending of Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2 Episode 1 though is such a cliff-hanger. Nonetheless, I almost felt like I had been decapitated by that astonishingly beautiful scene of Levi assaulting Renier.

One Punch Man II
Metal Bat vs Garou
Alright, in the 4th place this week is One Punch Man Season 2 Episode 4 which gave us a pretty decent shot of Garou, and Metal Bat finally made his appearance this season. Personally, this is one of my favorite scenes from the manga. I’ll say Metal Bat is my kind of cinnamon roll while I am starting to like Garou especially when he is interacting with the little boy in the park.

Kono Oto Tomare!
The koto club were happy after successfully playing ryuuseigun during their practice
The story keeps on building up this week and it really feels great to see Hozoki learning something about where Chika came from, his backstory and how dedicated he is about playing the koto. Furthermore, it is also amazing to see the entire club working together for their common goals despite few lapses on its story. Importantly, each of them has the desire to help the koto club and also shows the significance of each other’s on their lives especially about how playing koto means to Chika.

Fruits Basket (2019)
Kagura-chan arrival in the house of the Somas.
We finally had the chance to meet Kagura in Fruits Basket (2019) Episode 4. I actually felt so sorry for Kyo for all the misfortunes he had all this time against sadist peers. However, Kagura is the girl that I think is really great to befriend. I am really glad that she gets acquainted with Tohru really well, or else I’ll be having a problem deciding which one of them I shall favor more.

Bungou Stray Dogs III
Fyodor Dostoevsky playing the role of a prey
Finally, we had some backstory about the main antagonist this season which is no other than Fyodor Dostoevsky. Seriously, he is the type of person no one will dare to mess up with. His ability is quite creepy and mysterious though and despite his nonchalant appearance, he is a cold-hearted guy who spells troubles to his opponent. This week in Bungou Stray Dogs, we had a flashback at one of this encounter against an Executive of Port Mafia and he really is a dangerous enemy. Nonetheless, I want to see him on a one-on-one match against Ougai Mori. Furthermore, a clash of wit against Dazai is also a thing that I want to see more about this guy.

Cinderella Nine in August
Our first Cinderella - Tsubasa Arihara
Yes, this anime had been really a fun one to follow with its pure good vibes. Personally, I am not fond of anime like this but for some unknown reason, this group really caught my attention. Nonetheless, I really love the progress this week and their group of nine for the female baseball club officially founded.

Magi’s Grandson
Shin prepares a powerful attack against Oliver Schtrom
Oh, I am shouting for more though. That final scenes from Magi’s Grandson Episode 4 are truly breath-taking. I mean I need more of Shin’s magic in action and that fight against Oliver Schtrom. Somehow, despite some boring scenes at the start of the episode, the excitement all adds up in the end which is truly one of the most astonishing anime moments this season. Yes, Shin is definitely among the most overpowered anime characters of this season and it is really amazing to see him in action rather than just showing us some cliché teenage stuff. However, Magi’s Grandson this week offers a very promising future for the anime and we finally see who the real villain is.

Hitori Bocchi
Bocchi telling Sotoka she already achieved the mastery of becoming a ninja.
Once again, my favorite lady is included in our list. Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is such an anime with pure good ambiance in every episode. This week, it really feels great to finally meet another ninja fanatic like myself. Imagine when you’re the antisocial type and people thought that you’re a ninja, what will you feel? In fact, you must really be anxious and feeling awkward like what Bocchi feels when their foreign classmate – Sotoka finally interact with her and thought that she’s a ninja. The good thing is her friends Aru and Nako are up to her rescue and then they befriend Sotoka. It seems that Bocchi circle is now growing even more and it’s amazing, isn’t it?

Among our honorable mentions for best anime of Spring 2019 – Week 4 were Sarazanmai which is really growing on me, The Helpful Fox Senko which is a pure good vibe and truly adorable, Magmel of the Sea Blue with its bloody Mary episode, We Never Learn: Bokuben and Midnight Occult Civil Servants.

That ends our Top 10 best anime episodes for week 4 of Spring 2019 lineup. Which one is your favorite and which one is growing on you? Please let us know by leaving a comment below.

The Battle Through the Heavens Season 2 special SONG OF DESERT had finished airing and it has been an exciting adventure to follow, even giving me goosebumps at some points of the story. The Song of Desert is a prequel story to the main Battle through the Heavens timeline showing the chronicles of how the Ice Emperor Hai Bo Dong first met the fierce and beautiful Queen Medusa of the Snake-people tribe.

So, let’s talk first about the plot of Battle Through the Heavens – Song of Desert which premiered last April 13, 2019. The story revolves around the Ice Emperor Hai Bo Dong as a young mercenary at the top of Jia Ma Empire. One of the empire’s 10 strongest of that era, a Dou Huang from the Miteer Family. He got himself entangled with the snake-people tribe in one of his mission. He was tasked to take a captured snake-woman from slave trader on which he successfully did only to be assaulted by a masked assassin from snake-people tribe. Eversince, he had been on the run together with the snake-woman as they were pursued by snakepeople-tribe in order to capture the snake-woman who was said to be a traitor. Joining them is Queen Medusa - the newly crowned ruler of snake-people tribe and the persona behind the masked assassin that Ice Emperor met. The question now is that who is this snake-woman that the Ice Emperor took and why does the snake-people tribe are going haywire just to get her back. This is where the entire plot of Song of Desert revolves, the identity of that snake-woman and how her existence leads to Ice Emperor and Queen Medusa’s ultimate clashed which resulted to Hai Bo Dong’s current state in Battle through the Heavens main story timeline.

First of all, I would like to introduce our main characters in the story as follows:

Ice Emperor: Hai Bo Dong
Ice Emperor: Hai Bo Dong in BTTH Song of Desert
A member of the Miteer clan from Jia Ma Empire, as the leader of one of the 3 great clans of the empire, he is a person with so much power and influence. However, knowing his personality in the main story of Battle Through the Heavens, Hai Bo Dong is quite the peculiar one. In the Song of Desert, I could say that I have seen a different side of Hai Bo Dong. Yeah, in the anime he is still quite scary despite him being demoted to to Dou Ling level, all thanks to his bloodbath against Queen Medusa. However, he had shown a pretty badass fighting skill and overwhelming strength in the Song of Desert even obliterating a group of a mercenary with Dou Wang members. He also showed strong resistance to injury that he is still capable of defeating opponents despite being poisoned. Personally, it really feels great to see the Ice Emperor at his peak in the Song of Desert as I always thought that he had been an underrated character throughout the novel regardless of how important his role is during the early years of Xiao Yan’s journey in the Jia Ma Empire.

Queen Medusa
Queen Medusa in BTTH - Song of Desert
The newly crowned queen of the Snake-people tribe and a powerful entity in the eastern region of Jia Ma Empire. She alone was able to withstand fighting the three Dou Huang of Jia Ma Empire: Jia Xing Tian, Yun Yun, and Fa Ma (in reference of the future war between the Snake-people tribe & the empire). However, in the Song of Desert, we had been a vulnerable side of Queen Medusa that was never portrayed in the novel. She had always been portrayed as the cold-hearted, fierce but stunning gorgeous queen in the novel, therefore it is quite refreshing to see in a different light which shows at one of point of her life, she had been fragile, she had a warm hearth to show to everyone. Back in the story, Queen Medusa had exhibited a frightening power which could even overwhelm the Ice Emperor himself on certain occasions. I am also happy to learn a little more about the background of Queen Medusa though I believe that this couldn’t be acknowledged as canon as this thing details weren’t unveiled in the original novel but what’s even amazing is that Song of Desert shown a story perfectly detached from the main Battle through the Heavens plot but still remains faithful on its world.

Shi Ziyou Die (The Snake-woman)
Shi Ziyou Die & Hai Bo Dong in BTTH - Song of Desert
Alright, so it is time to talk about the snake-woman and why is the snake-people tribe are calling her traitor and why they are after her. Shi Ziyou Die’s name was only revealed at the latter part of the Song of Desert. I’ll now drop a major spoiler for people who weren’t able to watch Battle Through the Heavens – Song of Desert yet. Shi Ziyou Die is the current Queen Medusa’s sister and supposed to be the real queen of the Snake-people tribe but she chose freedom over her responsibility. Between the sisters, there should only be one Queen Medusa and thus, the other one must die in the hands of another. Shi Ziyou Die is the chosen one but she abandoned her crown and left, she has been treated by her people then as a traitor eversince, leaving the throne to her sister – the current Queen Medusa who is soft-heartened and kind that time.

Animation, Music & Sound
The animation sequence of Song of Desert is actually pretty good and personally, I thought it’s better than the first 2 anime seasons of Battle through the Heavens. On my end, I am captivated with those scenes where Hai Bo Dong fights Queen Medusa. Those were simply epic, stunning and fierce. The visuals were good, though there are some confusing scenes especially the backstory of Queen Medusa and Shi Ziyou Die on their tribe’s council.

Hai Bo Dong vs Queen Medusa
Music-wise, BTTT Song of Desert is pretty catchy and I actually had goosebumps when I first heard its opening theme. Though, I think the voice acting for the show is still quite boring as the entire Battle through the Heavens anime. Well, that should be acceptable knowing that Chinese dub sometimes lacks some kind of emotion or it is quite hard to differentiate different emotions in it. In fact, it is still funny on my end that despite watching Chinese anime of almost 2 years, I’m still not accustomed to its sound especially the voice acting most of the time.

Queen Medusa shedding tears for her dear sister
Shi Ziyou Die dying on  Hai Bo Dong

To wrapped up my review for Battle through the Heavens – Song of Desert, I strongly believed that animation-wise, the anime sits atop the entire BTTH anime franchise for now. The quality of animation put into it is truly admirable and plausible. In general, Song of Desert is an action-packed anime specials with dramatic touch and independent approach to BTTH world. It can be watched by viewers who didn’t see the main anime.

Meanwhile, Battle through the Heavens Season 3 trailer had been unveiled featuring Queen Medusa and I’ve read that the anime is coming back on July too.

Well, isn’t that amazing as aside from BTTH Season 3, The King’s Avatar Season 2 had been confirmed to return on July as well as the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Season 2. On my end, I couldn’t wait anymore to see Xiao Yan’s encounter with Queen Medusa and his journey on the Tageer Desert as this had been one of the most important & remarkable parts of his adventure in the novel.

A heartwrenching promo video for the upcoming second season of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation had been unveiled and we're all going crazy as it dropped some major spoilers from the novel.
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Season 2 Teaser Visual

Yeah, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is coming back for its second season this July 2019. Well, we are all excited for Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji as well as the rest of our favorite cultivators to comeback when Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation season 2 had been announced right after its first season concluded last September. In exactly, one year since its premiere, the Chinese anime that strike 2018 by surprise is returning to continue the story of vengeance and to uncover the greater conspiracy that revolved around the death of the Yiling patriarch himself.

In the teaser trailer for Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation season 2, we had seen different characters from the story fighting for their lives and the survival of their love ones. In a very tragic note, we had seen Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli not in a very good state, so it seems that their demise might be cover in the upcoming season of the anime. Furthermore, it seems that fans should expect for the upcoming season to be a total bloodshed with too much drama, actions, killings and insanity. We may finally see the reasons why the Yiling Patriarch had been banished by his former colleagues and who's the culprit from behind this conspiracy.

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Main Character "Wei Wuxian"

Things were simply getting excited now as we had first glimpse on the anime with first trailer for Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation unveiled last February. Now, we might get some essential information about the anime as we're approaching to its airing date.

Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Anime Official Poster

For those who are not familiar with Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, the following is the anime's synopsis:
As the grandmaster who founded the Demonic Sect, Wei Wuxian roamed the world in his wanton ways, hated by millions for the chaos he created. In the end, he was backstabbed by his dearest shidi and killed by powerful clans that combined to overpower him. He incarnates into the body of a lunatic who was abandoned by his clan and is later, unwillingly, taken away by a famous cultivator among the clans—Lan Wangji, his archenemy. This marks the start of a thrilling yet hilarious journey of attacking monsters, solving mysteries, and raising children. From the mutual flirtation along the way, Wei Wuxian slowly realizes that Lan Wangji, a seemingly haughty and indifferent poker-face, holds more feelings for Wei Wuxian than he is letting on.

Nonetheless, we are all excited for July to arrive as aside from Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, The King's Avatar anime season 2, and Battle through the Heaveans Season 3 is also slated to premiere on July. So, which returning Chinese anime you're excited to see guys? Please let us know by leaving your comments below.
