Had a truly memorable dinner at #teatro in @towers_rotana the interiors boasted a romantic atmosphere making it perfect for date nights.
We had to try the highly recommended “wasabi tempura” and it surely didn’t disappoint. But my tastebuds spun in delight, on trying out the “miso sea bass” and “black pepper beef noodles”. Classic but yet so delish! Slide through for some mouthwatering dishes.
Home to delicious mediterranean gourmet food with a keen focus on healthy ingredients. CafeBateel keeps coming out with lovely seasonal menus and this by far is the most health packed menu. Several items are so green which makes even hulk look pale. What I had: the jam packed healthy green bowl , the salmon and summer green, the fragrant lemon chicken and the hearty tiger prawn risotto
If I had to pick a favorite from the lot, it would have to be the beautifully crafted tiger prawn risotto- apart from being so instagram able – the dish is jam packed with flavor, thanks to the succulent prawns and the light and creamy risotto.
Embark on a culinary journey at Awani, where you can feast your eyes not just on the exquisite decor but also on dishes that will please your palette through out your meal. Enjoy the local flavors of the Levant region, showcased in simple and rustic dishes from delectable starters to wholesome main courses and lets not forget our favorite hummus dips.
Beetroot fatteh, a rustic dish that contains a meld of simple ingredients. Freshly baked Arabic bread is covered in a hearty layer of bright beetroot and cooked yoghurt, beef cubes take the centre stage with the traditional garnish of pine nuts, parsley and the heavenly spice, sumac.
Chicken wild thyme, a hearty dish with a lean cut sliced chicken breast, marinated in the plentiful goodness of wild thyme, olive oil, lemon juice and the Chef’s special spice factor. The result, moist chicken that gets tastier with every bite, that you just can’t get enough of.
Take a moment to venture along the regions of Spain to take a taste at the @casadetapasdxb brunch in @dubaicreekgolf . Enter the very swanky style bodega venue and be prepared to be floored with elements of the ambience featuring mosaic tiles, a hanging lemon tree , a ceiling adorned with plates and paintings that dress the wall. It’s an amazing value for money concept where you get to hit two birds with one stone, brunch at the ambient casadetapas and also the Cielo lounge at the upper level while enjoying the sweeping views.
The brunch spans innumerable dishes ranging from cold starters such as deviled eggs to variants of salads , one of my favourites being the refreshing octopus salad. A separate pork station takes stand with an assortment of cold cuts as well as hot dishes like stir fry pork. As we sat to enjoy our plates brimming with all sorts, the waiters took their rounds to serve Hot tapas to the table which included crispy patatas bravas, calamari tempuras and one of my favourites , the lip smacking prawns stir fried in a concoction of chili and garlic.
If you are big on desserts, then you are in for a pleasant suprise. With a separate dessert counter filled with decadent delights from various flavored cakes, a delicious and creamy panna cotta to melt your senses ,a hearty and rich caramel custard and lastly a churros station with piping hot churros sprinkled with sugar, which you can choose to bathe with a coat of various dips.
I was so stuffed that I had to drag myself down the stairs.
Love coming back to one of my fav #thai restaurants in town. Nestled in the lively courtyard of @lemeridiendubai, @sukothaidxb is a must visit for Asian food lovers.
As we delved into the “pla sukothai”, we were mildly suprised with the culmination of flavours that arose from the whole fried hammour. It’s flesh slathered with a dollop of sweet chili sauce on one side and a Thai herb dressing on the other was impeccable. The clear winner was the sweet chili sauce with predominantly a tangy flavour with subtle hints of spice.
No Thai meal is complete without the flavours of the traditional pad Thai, a dish containing fried noodles enveloped in a mixture of prawns, tofu , eggs, peanuts with a drizzle of tamarind sauce. This dish comforts me no matter what as it takes you down memory lane with street food that line the bustling streets of Thailand, with its simplistic flavour that added crunch and minimal ingredients that pack a punch. .
Another fav was the “phanaeng gai” which is a comforting dish that can be enjoyed with the likes of either chicken or beef. Going along with beef, the dish can particularly be enjoyed with steamed rice as the flavors of the kaffir lime leaves, coconut milk and chili and coriander marry each other to produce the final result of a creamy and spiced flavored curry.
As a Dubai kid, I think I can safely say that hummus and shawarma’s were the first food I fell in love with. While there’s something timeless about street food, the Fatteh, manoushe and falafel options at @zaroob were the icing on the cake. The falafels were crunchy and flavorful to the very last bite. For the manoushe, I opted for ‘steak and mushrooms’ and gosh, it was quite the mouthful. To satiate my sweet tooth, I ended up digging into every layer of that delicious ‘cheesecake Jalab’ (middle eastern fruit syrup). A very unique temptation! If you love your hummus, falafels, saj and other Lebanese delicacies, then #zaroob is a must try at @ibnbattutamall. It also has an outdoor seating area set on a cute wooden pier, complete with funky chairs clad in colours that add a modern touch, perfect to enjoy a sheesha of your choice and savour into some lovely bites. The outdoor seating is surrounded by a small water body which adds to its cool ambience factor and gives a zen-like feeling, located in the China court.
The MediterrAsian feast at the vibrant @lavabeachclub.
For the love of everything coastal and Mediterranean, we dived into the ‘Goan shrimp curry’ which was very exquisite and not too spicy. The fragrant gravy comes paired with coriander rice
Following suit ,we crept on some delicious Asian delicacies namely the ‘Japanese miso cod’ and ‘Soba noodles’ which is made from buckwheat thus making it very nutritional and has a lovely nutty flavour to it. The miso cod has always been one of my exotic favs whenever I dine at Japanese restaurants. There is something very unique about its rich flavour that makes it the perfect partner for fish such as cod. The plumpness of this fish is unmatchable.
This new concept @weareslab in @lamerdubai is purely amaze! Very innovative beautifully presented healthy dishes which are a fusion of different flavors. #weareslab #slabdubai #lamerdubai . Theyve some crazy “healthy” food combinations that are assembled together as a piece of art, painted on a plate.
One of my favs was the West Bank pita which is basically pulled chicken carefully placed on a bed of caramelized chicken, sumac and pine seeds. Quite the combination that can beat most of the sandwiches / burgers out there.
The shredded chicken pita sandwich was so beautifully crafted with the delicate touch of petals and pineseeds that made it look so effortlessly pretty. That and the beef striplion tasted heavenly with every bite following suit as the meat was tender to the very touch . Best of all they’re not that expensive compared to most.
If you do drop by there, then you’ve to try their butternut squash and orange soup. It’s one of the best warm hearted soup ive had so far with flecks of sumac for a finishing touch and a slightly spiced flavour. They also have an industrial feel to the restaurant focusing more on the mono feel in neutral palettes of gray and white. Thus making the dishes pop out in splashes of colour ! That marble slab counter by the kitchen is pure class!
