Para-rowers took to the water in the first international event of the year last weekend in Gavirate, Italy. The three-day 2019 FISA International Para-rowing Regatta saw many of the world’s top para-rowing athletes compete against each other and test their speed in this, the Paralympic qualification year.

A record 570 athletes from 34 countries competed at the 2019 European Rowing Junior Championships last weekend in Essen, Germany. The host country won big with eight gold medals, three silver and two bronze. The Czech Republic followed next on the medal table with two gold and two bronze and Russia in third.

The finals of the 2019 World Rowing Cup I took place in lovely rowing conditions of flat water and barely any wind turning to a small head wind as racing progressed in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The first two finals raced at World Rowing Cup I in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with the lightweight men’s and women’s single sculls. European Champion, Alena Furman showed continued form and Peter Galambos dominated the men’s race.

World Rowing Cup I in Plovdiv, Bulgaria moved on to a morning of semifinals to help decide the remaining boats for tomorrow’s finals. A warm day with a bit of a tail wind breeze causing some bumps in the water was the conditions for these rowers.
