If you’re anything like our team, you are also baffled that Memorial Weekend is already upon us! Seems time flies when you’re getting through these rainy Spring days one parka at a time! We wanted to make sure our clients, friends, and the like are well-equipped on the course (and at the clubhouse nearby) to handle this year’s Memorial Tournament festivities. So happy Tourney-ing, and we’ll see you on the runway–er, golf course

We love a good sporting event, but let’s be honest…sometimes it’s all about the social aspect! If you’re not planning to hit the green, but would rather hang indoors this is the outfit for you! Chic summer dress, fitted blazer (you’re inside, so what if it rains!), fabulous espadrille mules, classic polka dot printed bag, and the hat…because, well, you are still at the Memorial Tournament!! This look is chic, sophisticated, fem, and sporty all wrapped up in one!
When walking the course and following your favorite golfer… one must be comfortable, but look good too! This outfit fits that bill for us. The skirt is a skort (built in shorts) that makes the piece practical, but so chic. We love it with a few pieces from Tory Burch Sport. So incredibly polished, the perfect amount of layers for this tourney where the weather can change so quick!! If it’s hot, simply style the jacket over your shoulders or around your waist! Happy Walking!
Classic chic and golf go hand in hand. There’s just something about crisp whites that screams Memorial Tourney. If you’re gal who’s floating from the green to indoors, this laidback classic look is definitely for you. A linen-like button down that is a tad oversized (so it’s nice and breathable) paired with a black pull- on short (and yes, to tucking that shirt into the shorts). We highly encourage cuffing those sleeves and scrunching at the elbow and perhaps a subtle popped collar for a dose of Americana flare. To complete this look, it’s going to come down to the accessories…delicate necklaces, feminine sunglasses, a woven shoe, and handbag will do the trick!

The flowers are in bloom, the birds are chirping, we’ve finally been given some beautiful, sunny weather, and with that….it’s Mother’s Day weekend! Whether you’re the mama, the daughter, the sister, or the friend we have your outfit covered for however you choose to spend the day this special Sunday all about Mom.

1. Athleta Jumpsuit | 2. Gucci Leather Wrap Bracelet | 3. Brixton Brayden Fedora Hat | 4. Vince Camuto Moirina Sandal

We love this look for the momma’s that are celebrating and wanting to maintain a sporty and casual look all day long! Backyard BBQ, a walk in the park,  or an outfit to throw on after your morning yoga. Be comfy and look chic at the same time. The platform sandal is so chic for the gal who is giving her sneakers a bit of a break for summer.
  1. J. Crew Stretch Linen Blazer | 2. coolchange Victoria Skirt | 3. Madewell Northside Vintage Tee | 4. By Chari Mama Necklace  | 5. Band of Gypsies Mirth Platfrom Slide

Daychic….think brunch on the patio at Lindeys, followed by a stroll through German village, and perhaps a stop at the Book Loft. Then maybe scooting over to CMA for an art-filled afternoon. A skirt and blazer is the perfect day chic combo for any mama, or gal celebrating her mama/sister/friend. The platform sandal is one of our fav shoe trends for the season (as well as the clear straps!), and the perfect way to complete this ensemble!

Going a bit dressier for Mother’s Day is most definitely an option! Sunday church followed by a lovely brunch at The Barn or perhaps you have plans for an evening dinner with your loved ones. We love the idea of a jumpsuit! It feels dressy, but still exudes a touch of dress up casualness. To make this look feel extra special, we paired it with an array of gold hued accessories. Heeled slide sandals are still big this spring and we are loving this one that has a touch of metallic snakeprint!

Last Fall, our team was so inspired by the Western trend that we incorporated the style into our team photo shoot. Fast forward to Spring, and not only is “cowboy chic” still a thing…it may be (dare we say) even more important than it was several months back. We have no doubt this trend will be kicking it with us for awhile, so we thought we’d share with ya’ll some of our favorite western-inspired pieces for Spring so you might incorporate them in your own wardrobes right along with us!

From a flowing maxi Dress that easily pairs with western-inspired Boots, high-waist light Denim fit for a western Belt and white woven, snakeskin Handbag, turquoise Earrings, a belt-buckle Bracelet, handkerchief-hem Skirt, white Denim Jacket , topped with the perfect South Western Hat…these styles caught our eyes and hearts.

What’s the hottest trend? As stylists, it’s a question we hear often and we love it! But more importantly than “WHAT,” we love when our clients ask us “HOW” they should be wearing the hottest trends. While trends are important, it’s even more important to know how to wear them, as in shape, silhouette and your style preference are mostly definitely KEY factors! Back in February, we shared our round of Top Trends for Spring 2019, one of those being UTILITY…think boiler suits, khaki, belted waists, cargos. etc. With the idea of head to neutrals being another key trend for the season, it is no surprise to us that UTILITY is shaping up to be “THE IT” trend for the season. There are many ways one can approach wearing this trend and we wanted to give a dose of fashion inspo so it inspires you to embrace utility in a way that feels and looks good on YOU. Today, we are going to give you a range of day to night looks in various ways from a structured jacket to a jumpsuit, we’ve got you covered.

UTILITY JACKET

1. ALC Cargo Jacket  | 2. Rebecca Minkoff  Graphic Tee | 3. Madewell Straight Denim| 4. Ancient Greek Niki Nails Sandal | 5. Rebecca Minkoff Blythe Belt Bag

Day: A cargo jacket is an easy way to begin embracing the utility trend! From the collar to the front seams to the angled pockets, we love everything about this piece. For this easy daytime look, this ALC cargo jacket is serving as our finishing piece. For a casual day of running around, we love the idea of a simple, yet bold graphic tee paired with straight cropped jeans from our favorite denim spot, Madewell. A Grecian inspired sandal to ground the look and a chic little belt bag so you can keep those hands free!
Night: As you transition to evening, this jacket can still serve as your finishing piece. For this look, we opted for these fun snake print pants by Joie. Also, they are pull-on, which makes them all the more comfortable! An easy white tee for layering underneath the jacket (and tucked). A cognac colored pump for a touch of neutral color pop and a gold vertical bar necklace for finishing touches.
UTILITY PANT

1 Veronica Beard Field Cargo Pant | 2 Equipment Slim Signature Blouse | 3 Honey Rose & K Coin Necklace | 4 Stuart Weitzman Anny Pump | 5 Chanel Flap Bag with Top Handle

Day: Cargo pant by day? Why yes. While this pant style has more of a masculine feel, it can most definitely be dressed up for a chic day at the office or a round of lunch meetings. We love the slenderness of this particular cargo pant by Veronica Beard. These pants do have pockets that are quite minimal and not largely square. And lastly, the touch of hardware at the ankle makes these cargo pants all the more chic. To give this pant a dose of feminine flair, we paired it with a classic silk button down. Depending on your preference and day-time environment, you can fully tuck or half tuck this beauty and roll those sleeves. To complete this look, add an ultra fem handbag, a slender stiletto and a chunky statement necklace like this one from Honey Rose & K.

1 Veronica Beard Field Cargo Pant | 2 Free People Sofia Halter Tank | 3 J Crew Classic Denim Jacket | 4 J. Crew Rattan Clutch | 5 Cult Gaia Pia Mule

Night: A cargo pant makes the perfect option for an easy night out on the town that includes dinner or drinks al fresco. We paired the same pant with a silk print top that has a subtle drape to it. To create proper balance for this look, a layering piece is essential, hence the denim jacket. To finish off the outfit, we love the idea of incorporating texture. These roped leather mules by Cult Gaia and a simple rattan clutch will do the trick! And oh yes, grab that gold hoop earring that you have laying on your nightstand and you will be good to go.

UTILITY JUMPSUIT

1. Oresund Iris Workwear Belted Jumpsuit | 2. Madewell Oversize Jean Jacket | 3. Frye Ilana Leather Backpack | 4. Schutz Tracy Snake Mule

Day: We love that this utility suit is a light khaki…a favorite color trend for Spring, and such a versatile neutral that can be dressed up or down. To ensure this look is flattering, we opted for a style with a belted waist to give shape, and with a slight flared and cropped leg.  This is also light and airy for Spring going into Summer!

For daytime, we’ve paired the utility suit with a flat mule slide. Comfort is key in our job, as we consult with clients or spend our days shopping! And oh yes, a touch of snake print to add a touch of western flair to this jumpsuit. To complete this look, a chic mini backpack, of course!  There is one by Chloe we are loving, but this one by Frye is easy on the wallet, has a very similar look, and is equally as chic! And, just in case there’s a chilly spring day, we would add an oversize denim jacket just like this one.

Night: Yes, the utility jumpsuit works for night too!  We love the idea of a heeled mule and grounding this look with this black shoe. A wooden crossbody for a touch of texture…we suggest holding it as a clutch as pictured, but love the versatility the strap offers. The brown wooden accessory is a surprise element to the outfit and we love mixing neutrals (black with brown) and doing the unexpected. And to finish it off,  drop shell earring.

And just like that, we are moving right through Spring! It kinda feels like the time is just flying by. And speaking of time, it’s hard to believe that Easter and Passover will be here next weekend! For us, these Holidays mark the beginning of Spring Festivities…from here we’ll be gearing up for Hat Day, Graduations, Fleur-ish (more details to come about this soon!), The Memorial Tourney and much more. To kick off this season properly, we wanted to share with you want we likely be wearing for Easter Sunday!

1 Jack Dakota What Grows Around Dress | 2. Banana Republic Grey Hacking Jacket | 3. Dolce Vita Kodi Booties | 4. Argento Vivo Frontal Hoop Earrings

Our family celebrates Easter with lots of family time, church and Easter egg hunt(s)!! Our Sunday will start early and go all day! It’s the perfect day to wear a Spring dress that is comfortable, but casual and perfect for the adventures that head our way.  Shoes are equally important. That’s why I love this look.

This dress from Birch is one of my favorites! I wore it for our Wardrobe Therapy team photo and again on my daughter’s Baptism day. It’s the perfect Easter dress so I’m planning on changing up my accessories, layering it under a blazer, and re-wearing! My Easter holiday includes Church in the morning with the family, followed by brunch with my parents and siblings and our little fam. We’ll end with an Easter egg hunt for the girls!

1.Madewell Textured Button Front Dress | 2. J. Crew Denim Jacket | 3. BaubleBar Kiera Statement Earring | 4. Caterina Bertini Shopper Tote | 5. Gold Linx Slide Sandal

Easter is one of my favorite holidays! We will spend most of the day at church, as Jason and I are both on the planning team for our church. While I will be running around and helping to make sure our kiddos and first-time visitors are comfortable,  I find it very important to still be festive for the service and for our annual Easter brunch date (we’ve been doing this since our first year of marriage..it’s super special to me!). I will have SNEAKERS stashed in my bag for practical purposes! I really love these fun ones from Nordstrom and think that they would make the perfect substitute for running to and fro!

Happy April! With Spring FINALLY here.. we are looking forward to all things that help us to define this season; Hat Day Dressing, Kentucky Derby Parties, Luncheons, Picnics.. and The Women 4 Women Collective, that you will be learning more about very, very soon…TBC.

But there’s a lady living in our local fashion community (even though she travels West coast weekly) that we are just smitten with. She’s uber talented (you’ll see her long list of fashion retailers she’s impressed) and her sense of fashion is one to oodle over. Did we mention that she is incredibly genuine and just a refreshing person to know within this fast-paced, dog-eat-dog industry? Meet Ashley Sargent Price.

Ashley Sargent Price

Q: You are an award-winning freelance creative director, most recently with Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister Co., and prior to that worked as creative director at JCrew. You work with notable companies such as Beautycounter, Ann Taylor, Coach, Bergdorf Goodman, Gap, Goop, and Urban Outfitters, to name a few. Can you give us a little insight into your role as creative director for these brands?

A: I JUST accepted a new position at Beautycounter as their Chief Creative Officer — It feels great to be to be working for a brand with such an incredible mission, and to be a part of their movement to improve the beauty landscape by making safer products for everyone. I’m learning every day… and the more I know, the more I am motivated to help clean up the industry. Unfortunately we are drastically behind in the United States, and the way we regulate needs to change — quickly. It’s a matter of health. And the reality is, ingredients don’t need to be harmful to be effective.

Q: You split your time between NYC, LA, and Columbus…how do you successfully adjust your time, schedule, and talents in this bi-coastal+ lifestyle?

A: Well, I’m not sure I do it successfully! I do my best to stay on EST… I drag my friend to 6pm dinners and return a lot of email at 4am when on the west coast. I also try to fit in a routine that keeps me grounded — yoga helps! And I take a supplement called Neurocalm by Designs for Health that has B vitamins and L-Theanine… it is… AMAZING.

Ashley with daughter, Winslow

Q: As a working mother, especially keeping in mind your travels, how do you find the balance?

A: Oooh, this is a hard one. Honestly, I just do the best I can. I am away from my family a lot, but I am passionate about my work, and I think you can be a good parent and partner without being there all the time. You know, you can look at any situation and see its benefits or drawbacks. I’m very fortunate, and while it makes me sad to miss certain things, I’m proud I’m providing for my family and setting an example for my kids — I know they see that I am dedicated and hard working.

Creative Director, Ashley & Colleague

Q: You work with some very inspirational and aspirational women (and men) in the public eye. What keeps you grounded and focused?

A: Family — keeps me grounded. Being around and collaborating with smart, talented, hard working people keeps me focused and inspired whether they are in the public eye or not.

Ashley with husband, David

Q: As a creative, what drives your passion and keeps you inspired?

A: 100% the company I keep — My kids, My husband, My friends.

Ashley with son, Hamilton

Q: How would you describe your personal style?

A: Classic and feminine with a little tom-boy mixed in.

Q: Who are some of your favorite designers?

A: Phoebe Philo, Isabel Marant, Jenna Lyons, Jane Mayle

Q: In your travels, we’re sure you can get your hands on some good sources!! Where do you love to shop?

A: Columbus: Rowe, Grandview Mercantile, Second Chance Consignment Boutique, Stump / NYC: Mayle, Warm, Oroboro, Beautycounter! / LA: The RealReal Lawson Fenning, The RealReal, coyuchi home

Q: What does a day in the life look like for you here in Columbus? I.e. How do you spend time with your family? Favorite Local Shops/restaurants/activities?

A: Here is my perfect Columbus day: Breakfast at Skillet with the family on our way to The Book Loft, then CMA followed by lunch at Dough Mama (Sneak in to Small Talk for a quick shop), Next, Yoga on High in Grandview then across the street to Second Chance Boutiques and down the street to Grandview Mercantile, meet back up with the family for Dinner at Akai Hana and desert at Belle’s Bread Japanese Bakery, lastly, home for family movie night and snuggles on the couch.

Q: As you know, Spring is upon us! If you could pick just one…what is that one piece you are coveting for your wardrobe this season?!

A: Church’s Stefy combat boots to wear with spring dresses!

Do you have someone in our community you would love to know more about? Tell us! We love recognizing movers and shakers that make our community unique and fabulous!

Spring has SPRUNG!! We are giddy, we know you are too! We’ve already been hard at work in our clients’ wardrobes, purging, shopping, and outfitting for this season and now that the weather appears to be on our side, it’s time to step out in those new duds and sport the style that speaks to you!

Our team pulled 3 of our must-have pieces we’re each coveting for Spring to show you what we’ll be wearing!

1. PAISLEY DRESS: I’m a sucker for a dress. Especially one that is a bit oversized, what can I say?  I love this paisley print dress, and the v-neck is perfect for me so that I don’t completely loose my shape. I love the idea of pairing it with a good cross body bag for a day of shopping with clients. ZARA Flowly Printed Dress, $69.

2. BELTED DENIM TRENCH: I can’t stop thinking about this little number (which usually means, I have found a good one for me). I have it played out in my wardrobe a million ways, with a t-shirt and high waisted denim, styled open over a maxi dress, dressed up, dressed down…the possibilities are endless! ei8htdrweams Belted Denim Coat, $350.

3. HANDBAG #1: While I have a BIG birthday approaching, I keep telling myself to go for it… I’m totally inspired by this bag. The shape is practical for fitting everything under the sink into (which is just how i like my bags). The Row Bindle Double-Knot  Hobo Bag, $1490.

4. HANDBAG #2: But if I can’t get the guts up.. then I’ll probably settle for this..  which would make me happy too! Rebecca Minkoff Nylon Hobo, $168.

1. NOVELTY BLAZER: I am loving that blazers are such a “key” item for the season! While I do have a few blazers in my closet, I want to focus on layering in a novelty one. Something funky and fresh. I love this drapey, yet structured blazer by Scotch & Soda. Scotch & Soda Drapey Blazer, $165.

2.SILK SCARF: With the silk prints here for the season, I feel like this is the PERFECT opportunity to make the investment in a Hermes scarf. I love this one that has just a touch of orange, one of my preferred colors to wear and also a sunshine color! Hermes Acte II, Scene I, La Clairiere Scarf 90, $415.

3. BASKET HANDBAG: I don’t think I have ever shared this with you all, but I have a handbag obsession and this bag from Cult Gaia is just everything. It’s basket-like and complete with a sleek top handle…yes! Maybe I’ll even adorn this bag with my new Hermes scarf. Cult Gaia Zaha Bag, $215.

1. FANNY PACK: The fanny pack might be my favorite accessory right now. I love that it can be paired with any outfit. This classic Gucci is speaking to me, I may have to splurge. I like wearing them at my waist, but this would look great worn with a blazer cross body. Ophidia GG Supreme Canvas Belt Bag, $750.

2.UTILITY JUMPSUIT: Who doesn’t love a jumpsuit?! The utility trend is right up my alley…I love mixing tomboy and feminine together for a perfect juxtaposition. This jumpsuit would pair nicely with the fanny pack and sleek pumps for evening..but worn with a bootie or (gasp) a sneaker for daytime! The Frankie Shop Khaki Patch Pocket Utility Jumpsuit, $255.

3. WHITE BLAZER: I’m loving the white blazer at the moment…styling my clients and myself in this crisp style with jeans and a great blouse, with a good fitted tee and shorts in the Summer, over maxi dresses, and even a great maxi skirt and concert tee. Love all the options that blazer gives us! Lioness Palermo Blazer, $88.

Call us today to pick the favorite items YOU should add to your wardrobe!

And it’s time to say, “welcome back” to the maxi dress style! It’s been a minute since the maxi has had her moment and we are here for it. To put it simply, yay for longer hemlines! From ankle to floor length hems, the return of the maxi dress feels fresh, practical and absolutely perfect for the spring and summer days we have ahead of us! As we welcome back this trend, we feel that it is only appropriate for us to share our maxi dress favorites and how we would approach styling them!

I love that this dress can be worn with my western bootie and a denim jacket to wear to work (our fashion based line of work!) But I will wear this in the summer with my super easy nude sandals and a straw crossbody.  I might do my own alterations and make it ankle length vs. allowing it to be so long. The versatility of a maxi dress makes me HAPPY!
Loving the silk prints…feels like it’s my style but cranking it up a notch and pushing me out of my own comfort zone…which I love! I’m going higher fashion by tying the scarf in my hair, wearing the look with a belt purse, and topping it off with a white mule. Very 70s boho chic.

1.Rachel Pally Christopher Dress | 2. AllSaints Balfern Leather Jacket | 3. Staud Mini Shirley Handbag | 4. Stuart Weitzman Nearly Nude Sandal | 5. BaubleBar Mini Leia Resin Hoop Earrings

As much as I love bold color, I also love those pretty neutrals. Without question, the head to toe neutrals trend is really speaking to me this season! This easy cotton maxi dress by Rachel Pally makes the perfect spring/summer essential. You can dress it up or down. With being early spring, this neutral color block, leather jacket is most definitely what I would grab to give me structure through the waist. To top it off, acrylic hoop earrings, a transparent top handle bag and a dusty rose sandal. I think I’m ready for brunch al fresco!

The sun is shining and we’ve got a little extra pep in our step! The weather is slowly evolving and we are getting all the more excited for Spring fashion. If you haven’t had a chance to check out our trend report for the season, be sure to click HERE and give it a read.

There’s no doubt about it, we have a lot of trends we LOVE this season. But there is one that we are particularly vibing and that is the structured jacket! From classic trench coats to long and lean blazers, we love how effortlessly this trend emphasizes the waistline. So if you’ve been wondering about what “IT” item you should be getting your hands on first this season, we most definitely say a structured blazer. It will be that workhorse piece that you can wear endlessly…from desk to dinner, lunch meeting to cocktails and beyond.

Ok, need some inspiration? We’ve got YOU! Here’s a structured long and lean blazer that really speaks to us this season! From color to shape, we love everything about it!

Banana Republic, Long and Lean-Fit Birdeye Blazer, $198

To take things a step further, here are some various ways we would approach styling this beauty for Spring:

1. Pinko Snake Print Blouse | 2. Lea & Viola High Waist Pant |  3. Sam Edelman Hazel Pump | 4. Rowe Boutique Mini Pave Star Hoop Earrings

We love this look tucked into the high-waisted pant, and then adding the long and lean blazer! The pop of purple in the jacket with the snakeskin bow print blouse is so fresh and chic! And the Nude pump helps elongate the leg.

Styling this sleek blazer with a fuller skirt is most definitely acceptable! We are feeling especially inspired by silk prints since it is a top trend for Spring 2019, making this skirt by Missoni perfect! To communicate more of a laidback luxe idea, pairing this skirt with a crisp white tee (tucked in to show the waistline) along with a white sneaker feels fresh and Spring-like. As for accessories, add the white top-handle basket bag. Love this trend and this bag! And lastly, rainbow-hued stacking rings are on trend for the season and finish the look.

1. Majestic Soft Touch Tee | 2. Missoni Plisse Pleated Maxi Skirt | 3. Kayu Designs  White Top Handle Bag via Ladybird Boutique   | 4. DC Johnson LTD Rainbow-Hued Stacking Rings (inquire within) | 5. Gucci New Ace Sneaker

Denim paired with a structured jacket = forever classic. With the season transition in full swing, we say go ahead and reach for that white denim. Pairing a super feminine blouse under a more structured jacket is always a good idea. We love this cami from Shopbop as it represents those Sunshades colors that we are mad about! To keep your look balanced, go ahead and tuck that blouse and slightly scrunch those sleeves. As for the bag, swap out your structured handbag for something a bit different…netting! Yet another big trend for the season. To finish off this look, a touch of animal print and a twisted gold hoop will do the trick.
