Welcome to my land, my fashion wonderland. My name is Sheryl Luke and I write for Walk in Wonderland. I love exploring all styles, but I'm mostly in edgy, chic outfits and every now and then, I like to dress preppy, glamourous or grungy. I live in the moment and that is reflected in my style.
Happy Friday you guys! I was suddenly struck by the mood to shoot something a little out of the ordinary. So we decided to take this sequin dress which I absolutely love, to the beach instead.
I totally love this dress so much and now I need a place I can actually wear it to. Anyone has a party coming up? I initially pictured a sunny backdrop by the ocean and it looked like being a sunny day when we left the house. But as we got closer to the coast, the cloud cover started getting heavier and just like that, it became a grey day. But you know what? I still kinda love it. I had to throw on a denim jacket because it was a little chilly but I think it works great! The shoot has such a cool and elevated vibe that I would never have seen if the sun had been out. Funny how that worked out, huh?
Hope you guys have a fun weekend ahead of you and thanks for stopping by!

So I have a confession to make. We live about 45 mins away from the beach, yet we don’t go often enough. There’s no good reason for that. I guess we could blame the traffic but to be honest, that’s not a very good excuse. The scenery and the vibe is totally worth a little bit of driving in LA traffic.
Anyway, I’ve been feeling a little “off” lately and needed a pick-me-up so we decided to spend the day at the beach just cruising, grabbing coffee and hanging out. Of course, while I was there, we took the opportunity to shoot a couple looks (this one and another that I will share soon). I got home feeling so happy and grateful. To me these are the best things life can offer – my husband, just a touch of the sun that finally came out to play, and the ocean breeze. I feel so rejuvenated and refreshed!
Finally after too many weeks of May Gray, the sun finally decided to show itself! Today was absolutely beautiful and although I wasn’t feeling myself yesterday, I felt better this morning and decided to get dressed and enjoy the day. On that note, I found this really cute tee that you can cinch up depending on how much of a cropped look you want. I love my tees (especially cropped) during summer and this lilac shade is just adorable so I had to have it! It comes in white as well and I believe UO is having some sort of Memorial Day sale now, so get it before it ends!
Hope you guy have a great short work week and as always thanks for stopping by!
I love finding pieces that are unique and something I might not have in my wardrobe. These trousers are the perfect example. Yes, you read that right. It looks like a skirt but they are actually a pair of culotte trousers! I love the slit that shows off the shoes you are wearing and of course the color to me, is simply timeless.
Another piece are these Y Heel from Mgemi. It’s a classic pump with an unexpected unique heel! I’d suggest going down a half size. It’s sculptural and sexy in the most feminine way possible. If you are new to Mgemi, you can use my code SHERYL40 and get $40 off your first pair.

Naturally when you have a great hair day, you want to get yourself out there and show off to the world. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t feel that way.
I feel like quite a few of you think my hair is always looking healthy and I’m not denying that I feel quite blessed because I do appreciate my hair, but I have to confess a few things. First, I put my hair through the wringer with way too many hot tools at the salon trying to get beach-y waves for photoshoots. In fact, my use of hot tools is what does the most damage because my hair is naturally wavy so I have to straighten it with a flatiron every time I wash. Add in a dash of super dry LA weather and you’ve got the recipe for a bad hair day!
Well, I’m so done with that and I wanted to take some steps to seriously great hair.
So, I embarked on the Pantene 14 Day Challenge in the hopes it would put me on course for more great hair days. I’ve been a Pantene user for the longest time, even way before my blogging days. It’s a staple of our bathroom and even the Mister is a fan! My all-time favorite has always been Pantene’s Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner. Whether I am leaving my hair naturally curly or plan on styling it, I know it never lets me down. To be honest though, I never used it consistently until this challenge. Normally, I would play the shampoo field but this time, I stuck with the Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner every time I washed my hair (2 -3 days over the course of 2 weeks). I also added another Pantene product, their detangling spray, as a leave-in conditioner and I love it! I simply spray it onto my damp hair and just run my fingers through. So easy and the knots loosen much easier without having to tug.
So here I am at the end of the 2 weeks of using consistently using Pantene’s Daily Moisture Renewal Collection and the most obvious difference that I notice is more shine throughout my locks and my hair just feels so much more manageable, both rocking my natural waves and straight. No more dryness and brittleness, just hair I can run my fingers through and style however I want! I’m so glad I did this challenge because I now know how easy it is to keep my hair looking great and hopefully, I’ve inspired a few of you to get on the road to more great hair days so maybe try the challenge yourself!

The Mister and I had a little bit of a dilemma for our anniversary this year. We wanted to do something special of course, but this is the first time we would have a furry tag-along with us so we needed to stay local. And was Freddie Friendly too! The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel not only ticked all those boxes, they helped make our anniversary an amazing one!
The property has the advantage of being right by the ocean with gorgeous beaches so it’s paradise, yet just an hour’s drive for us. And the staff did their utmost to ensure we enjoyed our experience. And I really mean “we”. When we checked in and walked into our room, Freddie was thrilled to find his own bed, a couple toys and his own hand-painted bowls waiting for him. It’s no surprise that a happy puppy means happy guests and the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel fully celebrate that fact!
We spent our first evening enjoying a spectacular sunset with drinks and small bites at 180BLU and it couldn’t have been more romantic. We started the next day with a morning walk by the beach. And the rest of the day was all about the pool while Freddie made some friends so he had a blast chasing them around while playing catch! After he was all tired out, he took a nice long nap and we made our way to dinner at one of the property’s restaurants, Raya.
I have always said that a great hotel is all about the staff and Raya has some real gems on their team. Dinner was delicious and we were so expertly taken care of by Daniel, Billy and Rosa. Daniel was funny, sweet and just a delight as he went over every delectable dish. He made us feel so special and his attention to detail really enhanced our celebration! He was ready with the perfect wine to pair with every bite and when we had trouble choosing just one dessert from our favorite 3, he saved us a tough decision by bringing all 3 out for us! Amazing!
Naturally, we hated to leave because we loved our time at the resort so much. And I want to thank everyone at the property who made our stay such a great one. We can’t wait to return and being so close, it’s not going to be too long till we are enjoying that sunset again.
One of my favorite looks from NYFW, as I made my way to the Dion Lee show. It was super cold but I really wanted to wear this vintage inspired sweater without a jacket or coat because you don’t cover up something that looks this good!
So if you look closely, you’ll see I was holding some Hot Hand warmers to stay warm! Oh, the sacrifices we make for a good outfit…Pretty much in every photo, I’ve got warmers clenched in my hands as we did this shoot outside the NoMo Soho, where we stayed during our entire trip. Also, a lot of you voted for this yellow bag from Thale Blanc via my IG stories when I was having a dilemma as to which bag I should carry with this outfit so you guys were a part of putting this look together!
If you guys ever wondered what kinds of looks are my favs, wonder no more! I just love a long structured coat paired with snakeskin boots that are such a rage right now. I’ve had these boots for over 3 years and I am so happy it’s still on trend.
I also wanted to carry something pretty to glam up the outfit and when my sweet friend and designer Deborah Sawaf of Thale Blanc showed me her new collection, this bag jumped out to me. It’s glam enough but not over the top, so perfect for a night out either dressed up or casual. I think every girl needs a bag like this, pretty and petite in her wardrobe.
And great new, Thale Blanc has very kindly offered all my readers 25% off this gorgeous petite princess bag – all you need to do is use the code: WALKINWONDERLAND at check out. So get to it ladies!
