Welcome to my land, my fashion wonderland. My name is Sheryl Luke and I write for Walk in Wonderland. I love exploring all styles, but I’m mostly in edgy, chic outfits and every now and then, I like to dress preppy, glamourous or grungy. I live in the moment and that is reflected in my style.
Currently in NYC for the week and we really lucked out with the weather here in the city! When we landed, it was all cloudy and rainy and we were expecting the worst. So the last couple of days have been great for us! I love packing kimonos when I am traveling. Especially when temps can drop in the evenings and this embroidered kimono was just the perfect light and bright piece and plus it’s so silky.
We’ve only got a couple days left in the city and as always we are reluctant to leave. There’s just something about being here that stirs my creative spirit. Thankfully, it’s probably not going to be too long before we return so we can’t wait!
Happy Friday everyone! So excited to be in NYC tomorrow. It’s been a while since we went back (compared to last year when we were there almost every other month!). On a similarly happy note, I am packing my fancy red wide leg pants again with me. I got them in Feb this year in the city at the H&M store near Flatiron. Typical me, I had them buried under a pile of clothes and totally forgot about it. Unfortunately they are not available online anymore, My Bad! I should have photographed them months ago. But fret not because I’m going to link a few similar looking pants below. You just can’t go wrong with some statement Red Pants and I think you guys are going to love these!
I’ve always loved wearing dresses over jeans but in this instance its more of a top over jeans. I don’t think it’s actually possible to wear it as a dress unless maybe you are wearing a bikini underneath which I think could be a great idea for the summer when you’re by the pool. It’s currently on sale now and it’s a great time to check it out and maybe take a risk or two with your styling. I am wearing size 0 and for reference I’m 5’2, so I think this works great for us petite girls!
Keeping it classic and casual but adding a fun twist to a look is usually my go-to style philosophy. I’ve been re-wearing my favorites recently and while some aren’t available for purchase anymore I always try to link similar pieces. For me, the piece isn’t as important as the idea. If you already have something similar in your closet, a look like this is so easy to put together. Today, I gave myself a mission of trying to style outfits with things that I still adore in my closet from previous seasons because I wanted to highlight that amazing looks don’t always have to come from brand new pieces and that most, if not all of us have great things we might have forgotten about hiding in our closets. So show some love and strut your stuff!
I’ve had these jeans for almost a year now and there’s only one retailer that carries them so I’ll link it below (the exact style) but I am always on the hunt for a new pair of high waisted mum style jeans. If I find another perfect pair soon, look out for a post featuring it not long after!
Hope you guys have a great week ahead and as always thanks for stopping by.
Taking a cue from my fabulous girlfriend Kelly from Kelly Golightly, I decided to shoot this dress in her beautiful home in Palm Springs last weekend. This girl is all about that effortless glam that you think of when you think “Palm Springs” and her home is such a reflection of that. Check out her amazing blog and see what I am talking about!
I absolutely love this dress from Veronica Beard! From the print, the fabric and the way it fits (literally hugs every part of my body). I want to wear this dress again, hopefully at a summer wedding or maybe a fab pool party. Not going to lie, I felt great in it but I only got to wear this for 20mins just for the photoshoot. I changed out of it as I didn’t want to ruin it, so it went back into my garment bag and is now waiting for another perfect day to strut its stuff. Hopefully you’re going to be seeing it again soon on my Stories, so keep your fingers crossed for me!
I loved this top the moment I spotted it. The light pastel yellow is just perfect for spring and the knit is so lightweight you can style it with a blazer if the evenings start to get cooler.
We spent this past weekend in Palm Springs and we shot a few looks that were different from what I normally do and I am so excited to share them with you guys! I always feel it’s good to push your creativity, so stay tuned and see what I styled for the desert heat!
TGIF!! Hope you guys are looking forward to your weekend! The Mister and I are headed to San Francisco for a short weekend getaway tomorrow morning and we can’t wait! It has always been one of our favorite cities and we haven’t been back in too long. As you’re reading this, I’m busy picking out looks for the colder and gloomier weather of the Bay Area. I’ve never been a fan of cloudy days but my Mister just loves it!
Anyways, the outfit for this post was a look I put together for a vintage shopping session recently. The stores I have been going to are pretty close to my neighborhood and it’s made me realize that there are a ton of treasures just waiting to be found and we don’t always have to go too far to start the search! Have a great weekend and look out for my posts in San Francisco on Instagram!
I’ve been styling my hair in my natural curls a lot these days and I have to admit that I’m loving it! Something about this entire look made me feel like I had to go au natural. I guess its just the combo of the laid back pants and top and that jute bag. As cute as the bag is, if you do look closely you’ll see my keys are about to fall out! Haha! So top tip, I moved my smaller items (wallet, keys, makeup etc etc) to a smaller drawstring pouch that I throw in the bag and that problem is solved! The things we do when we find that special piece, am I right??!
