Hello and a happy Tuesday morning to ya! Today I have the KBShimmer Holo-day Collection 2017 for you.
The KBShimmer Holo-day Collection 2017 features eight new shades, all with a holographic sparkle to them. Some of these have linear holo and some have scattered holo. All took just two coats to cover beautifully and I have no complaints about the formula!
Up To Snow Good
Up To Snow Good is a pale grey with slight blue shimmer and holographic sparkles throughout. It’s supposed to be reminiscent of snow, and I think it does a great job of that.
You’re Brew-tiful is a light latte-brown with linear holographic sparkles.
Deck The Claws
Deck the Claws is bright red “mega flame” holographic sparkle.
Jewels Of The Trade
Jewels Of The Trade is a “mega flame” intense blue with holographic sparkles.
Fir Sure is a fir tree green linear holographic sparkle.
Come On Get App-y
Come On Get App-y is a blueish leaning purple with linear holographic sparkle.
Pour Decisions is a dark burgundy with holographic glow flakes.
Why So Sirus?
Why So Sirius? is a purple that sifts to a teal shade and has lots of holographic glow flakes.
So much pretty-ness going on here, especially if you love holographic shades. I am realizing that I prefer scattered holo shades a little more than linear, which is something I never really thought much about in the past. I do like both, but something about the scattered ones grab me a little more. My personal favorites here are Up To Snow Good, Why So Sirius? and Pour Decisions.
You can find the KBShimmer Holo-day Collection 2017 on their site here and Amazon now, and they are $9.25 each,.
Today I have a post featuring a “Majesty Diamonds Blue Diamonds Topaz Manicure“. The last time I did a post like this you guys loved the Mystic Topaz I showed off, so I figured this one would make you happy as well!
When they approached me to write another post with a piece of their jewelry this time I wanted to do a “winter” kind of look. My favorite colors of winter (or the holidays) are blue and white, not the typical green and red, and it so happens that I LOVE blue topaz. Once I saw this 3 1/4 carat round cut ring with 75 white topaz stones in it, I knew it was the one I wanted to work with.
I decided to pair it with a pale blue creme (Morgan Taylor Gaston And On And On) then top just the tips with a silvery holo sparkle (China Glaze Techno). This reminds me of the ring and winter and the holidays!
You can find a very similar ring to this one on their site here, and it’s $59.00 (a $319.00 value) or take a peek at their other beautiful jewelry on their site. Also enter their contest to win a really cute necklace!
I am a HUGE ring fanatic, especially blue-colored jewels. Do you love blue topaz as much as I do?
Happy Wednesday and day-before-turkey-day! Today I’ve got the Lottie London Holo Duo Chrome Lip Lacquer shades.
Lottie London Holo Duo Chrome Lip Lacquer isn’t holographic, of course, that’s just a marketing gimmick and it applies only to the packaging. However, these are very duo chrome-ish, glossy, comfortable and really awesome! I picked them up at Ulta online having never heard of the brand before. The shades looked so nice and I am glad I took a chance on them.
Twist, Goals, Iconic, Shade
Twist, Goals, Iconic, Shade
Twist is a peachy pink/gold metallic.
Goals is a bright lavender pink with blue shimmer.
Iconic is a deep red-based purple/blue.
Shade is a brown with heavy green.
These are really very pigmented, so do not expect a sheer wash of color. They are extremely glossy and have a non-sticky finish. Yay! Twist is the only one which looks metallic but it’s also shifty. I would say the most shifty ones are Iconic and Shade.
You can find the Lottie London Holo Duo Chrome Lip Lacquer at Ulta now and they are $6.49 each. And in case you missed it, here is my review of their Stamp Liners!
Hello and happy Tuesday! Today I have the essie Gel Couture Holiday 2017 Collection for you.
The essie Gel Couture Holiday 2017 Collection is comprised of just three new Gel Couture shades. One is a gorgeous metallic shimmer and two are cremes. The formula was really great with all of these, and each one covered in just two coats.
Gold Gilding is a rose gold/mauve metallic shimmer.
Rue De La Ruby
Rue De La Ruby is a bright red ruby creme.
essie Amethyst Noir is a deep burgundy plum.
All three are nice shades, but for me the most interesting and unique one is Gold Gilding. The other two are probably more dupe-able. One bonus for me with the Gel Couture line is I LOVE the flattened, rounded brush. It perfectly matches my nails and I don’t have to work as hard to get a nice, neat manicure.
You can find the essie Gel Couture Holiday 2017 Collection on their site now and they are $11.50 each.
The new Urban Decay Distortion Eyeshadow Palette features fifteen eyeshadow shades. There are ten “regular” shades (nine of them are new) and five “transformer” shades, which turn colors into a shifty, multidimensional color. It comes in a gorgeous purple palette with a holographic shattered glass design on the front and a large mirror inside.
Now the idea of transforming eyeshadows isn’t anything new. In fact I have two other palettes (one from the 90’s) that did the same thing. One was the Sebastian Trucco AngelFace Holographic Colour Collection and the other is the more recent Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette. And I’ve got some comparisons below for ya!
Top to bottom: Bleach, Shifty, Space, Mind Game, Blur (over primer)
Bleach is a yellow/gold
Shifty is a green/yellow
Space is a blue/lavender.
Mind Game is a purple/pink.
Blur is a pink.
First Offense, Hot Box, 5.0, Rogue, Trash Talk, Territorial, Blackout, Old Smoke, Shag, Velvet (over primer)
First Offense is a metallic burnt orange.
Hot Box is a deep emerald green with micro-sparkles.
5.0 is a medium metallic blue.
Rogue is a medium purple shimmer.
Trash Talk is a medium pink shimmer with purple shift.
Territorial is an intense metallic bronze.
Blackout is a jet black matte.
Old Smoke is a smokey metallic gray.
Shag is a metallic silver with iridescent micro-sparkles.
Velvet is a metallic burgundy with gold micro-sparkles.
Bleach, Shifty, Space, Mind Game, Blur (over Blackout, with primer)
First Offense & Bleach, Hot Box & Shifty, 5.0 & Space, Rogue & Mind Game, Trash Talk & Blur, Territorial & Bleach, Blackout & Shifty, Old Smoke & Space, Shag & Mind Game, Velvet & Blur (over primer)
Top to bottom: First five are UD, second five are Sebastian Trucco, last four are KVD (over primer)
Swatches: UD first five, Sebastian Trucco middle five, KVD last four.
So as you can see, these shifty shades from all 3 palettes are all very similar and the way they work over other shades is also pretty similar. Funny enough as far as texture is concerned, I think the Trucco and UD ones are actually better than the KVD one. That one feels a bit grittier and not as smooth as the other two. Plus it has one less shifty shade, compared to the others. The Trucco one isn’t being made anymore, but you can still find it some places online, like I did a few years ago.
As far as the rest of the regular eyeshadow shades here, they are pretty nice. Everything swatched nicely over a primer (except Blackout was a little bit patchy) and they are very nicely pigmented. I really love the metallic ones especially because they are so creamy feeling and intense. Overall it’s a nice palette, especially if you do not have any of the other shifty ones and like that look (which I do)!
You can find the Urban Decay Distortion Eyeshadow Palette on Sephora and their site now and it’s $49.00.
Happy Wednesday and welcome to the new essie Winter 2017 Collection!
The essie Winter 2017 Collection features six new shades with various finishes. It’s a nice collection overall, and each one only required two coats to fully cover. I had not a single issue with any of them and there is one in particular which blew my (and people on Instagram‘s) minds!
Suit & Tied
Suit & Tied is a sandy beige creme.
Social-Lights has a light gray base with a warm amber shimmer. STUNNING!
Be Cherry! is a bright cherry red creme.
Ring In The Bling
Ring In The Bling is a ruby red shimmer.
New Year, New Hue
New Year, New Hue is a magenta purple creme.
On Your Mistletoes
On Your Mistletoes is a deep teal blue creme.
So I’ll bet you can guess which one was my favorite of the bunch? Yep, Social-Lights is super pretty and unique and amazing in the sunlight especially. But you know what my second favorite was, surprisingly? Be Cherry! I don’t know why, but there is something about this bright, cool-toned red creme that is really nice with my skin tone. It seems like a very crisp clean red somehow. I’m also digging Ring In The Bling and On Your Mistletoes a lot. Loving the saturation with all of these shades!
You can find the essie Winter 2017 Collection on their site now and they are $9.00 each.
Hello and a happy Monday to ya! I hope you had a great weekend. The Too Faced Pretty Little Planner 2018 is on the agenda today (get it?) so I hope you enjoy!
Pretty Little Planner 2018 is an Ulta exclusive. This set comes in a zip-around blue and gold case and includes a 15 Color Eye Shadow Palette, a mini Better Than Sex Mascara, a 2018 planner and cute stickers to go with it!
Top to bottom: Good Girl, Rise & Shine, Why Not?, White Christmas, Secret Santa, Silent Night, Werkshop (over primer)
Top to bottom: Coffee First, Snooze U Lose, Good As Gold, Dollhouse, Wrap It Up, Break The Ice, Elfie Selfie, Booville (over primer)
Such a cute set! I know a lot of people are saying there is nothing unique here and why does Too Faced keep coming out with the same old colors constantly. And I get it, I feel the same way. Most of these are nothing new or really all that exciting. However the set as a whole is cute, and if you love planners and makeup, it could work for you. Also while the eyeshadows might not be groundbreaking shades, they are mostly really nice and felt very nice. The only two I had any issue with were Snooze U Lose and Booville, which are mattes and felt a little chalky and were a bit patchy. The shimmery and metallic shades were great!
You can find the Too Faced Pretty Little Planner 2018 at Ulta only and it’s $42.00 (a $198.00 value.)
Is this something you want to get for yourself or someone you know?
Happy Thursday to you! Today I have the Kat Von D Fall 2017 Collection for you to drool over.
The Kat Von D Fall 2017 Collection includes a variety of different things including the Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette, Shade + Light Face Contour Refillable Palette, Saint and Sinner Eau de Parfum and I have also included three brushes here which are the Edge Creme Contour Brush, Powder Contour Brush and Glimmer Effect Eye Brush.
Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette $48.00
The Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette is an eye contouring palette with 12 neutral shades organized by neutral, cool and warm toned shades. Some have lots of sparkles, some not as much. It comes in a gorgeous sleek black palette with a large mirror inside.
Shade + Light Face Contour Refillable Palette $49.00
The Shade + Light Face Contour Refillable Palette features six cream colors for face contouring and it now comes with magnetic removable pans so you can refill them. There are three contouring colors and three highlighting colors and this also comes in the sleek black palette with a large mirror.
Top to bottom – Glimmer Effect Eye Brush $24.00, Powder Contour Brush $30.00, Edge Creme Contour Brush $32.00
These three eye brushes are designed to be used with the above-mentioned palettes. They are all synthetic with an angled, pointy tip for ease of use.
Saint and Sinner Eau De Parfum $65.00 each
Saint and Sinner Eau de Parfum are totally gorgeous as far as the packaging goes. Kat designed all the filigree scrollwork you see on the bottles and they are vegan. Saint has a vanilla/musk/jasmine scent and is lighter and more “feminine” to my nose. Sinner has patchouli/wood/cinnamon and is a deeper, more musky scent. I will admit freely that Sinner is NOT my style at all because I cannot stand the smell of anything with patchouli in it, however I am in love with Saint! It’s a gorgeous flowery smell.
Top to bottom: Porcelain, Copper, Bronze, Sterling (over primer)
Porcelain is a satin beige/off-white.
Copper is a metallic copper.
Bronze is a espresso with gold glitter.
Sterling is a white gold special effect glimmer.
Top to bottom: Dusk, Cinder, Onyx, Glacier (over primer)
Dusk is a satin taupe.
Cinder is a metallic chestnut brown.
Onyx is a black with silver glitter.
Glacier is a platinum special effect glimmer.
Top to bottom: Dune, Rust, Jasper, Quartz (over primer)
If you are into shimmery and glittery neutral shades I think you might love the Shade + Light Glimmer Palette. The colors are very nice and most are very pigmented and super nice to the touch. There will be fallout though, especially with the “special effect glimmer” ones. My favorite shades from this palette are actually all the metallic ones, which are so soft and pigmented.
I am all over Saint Eau de Parfum, but if you are also into musky scents Sinner could be more your jam.
As far as the Shade + Light Contour Palette, it seems like a great concept if you are into contouring and all that. I personally have never contoured, it’s just too much work for me and I have zero interest in it. But having said that I expect using creams might be easier to blend than powders, and the fact that these are refillable is great! But then I wonder how many of these shades one person would actually use?
Hey there and a happy Tuesday to ya! I have the Too Faced Best Year Ever 2018Collection for you on this fine day.
Too Faced Best Year Ever 2018 Collection comes in a limited edition gold and pink makeup bag (which smells EXACTLY like a new Barbie, which I LOVE) and inside you will find 3 Full Face Makeup Palettes a mini-sized Better Than Sex Mascara and a How To Glamour Guide.
I Believe in Pink features pink and purple shades and a bright pink matte blush.
Natural Beauty includes brown shades and a tan bronzer with golden sparkles.
Super Fun Night includes light and dark smokey shades and a pale champagne highlighter.
Top top bottom: Snowgirl, Mink Pink, :Pink Rink, Pink Christmas, Spoiled Rotten, Wish For It, Pink Poinsettia (over primer)
I Believe in Pink.
Top to bottom: Angelic, 5 Golden Rings, Oh, Deer!, Pretty Pecan, Sleigh My Name, BAEthoven, Warm My Heart (over primer)
Top to bottom: Lucky Star, Cozy Cashmere, Tipsy, Oh What Fun, Sleighhh Girl, No Peeking, Dashing Through The Glow (over primer)
Super Fun Night
Cute set! I don’t think these are very unique shades or really all that different from what we have seen from Too Faced a million times, but for someone new to makeup or who doesn’t have the basics, this could be a good gift. I think my favorite palette of these is Super Fun Night because it has a variety of shades and Tipsy is a really cool and rather unique looking duochrome. I also really like the Dashing Through The Glow Highlighter.
You can find the Too Faced Best Year Ever 2018 Collection at Sephora and it’s $49.00 (a $285.00 value).
Is this something you will be picking up for yourself or someone you know for the holidays?
