UK Drone Pilot | Aerial Photography Blog Birmingham UK
Aerial Photographers based in Birmingham, West Midlands. We love to get up and create images, it’s our passion for aerial work and photography combined. James regularly shoots ground images for businesses in major cities across the UK.
It’s been an exciting few months with excellent weather. This week one of our projects we’ve been working in Barton-under-needwood capturing aerial images for 3D construction of a property for planning purposes near the A38.
Using our aerial photography equipment (UAV’s) these images are from 40m – 100m high. Captured on a variety of lenses from 24mm -50mm
Recently we’ve captured images for one of our regular clients of an in-accessible roof in Birmingham. The drone roof survey was to be captured to document the condition of the roof to assist a surveyors report before the purchase of the property was made by the surveyors client.
Images were captured over two flights and due to the flights being close to Birmingham Airport we contacted ATC (Air Traffic Control) prior to our flight to ensure we were operating safely.
Using our drone system we were on site and complete within 2 hours, back to the studio where we further completed the project with additional post processing and uploading the full resolution files to our clients in the city.
We’ve added some examples of images from this shoot, the client received over 50 images of the roof showing details of each area including gutters, flashings, TV aerial and any new/repaired areas.
Over the first few months of 2017 we’ve worked closely with surveyors. Helping them with inspections and viewing the roof areas on new build properties. This post is regarding the beautiful estate of Netherhall Park in Great Barr, Birmingham B43.
Using our aerial photography equipment we’ve assisted, homeowners and surveyors directly with home buyers reports and claims for NHBC repairs.
Viewing the roofs is difficult from the ground especially of the three storey properties on the Netherhall Park estate.
Here are some of the images which we’ve created to assist surveyors reports. Please note these are lower quality than the final product due to web-resolution/optimisation.
In 2017 we’re working with multiple construction companies after starting two new twelve month contracts capturing images above their construction sites every 4-6 weeks. The aerial images are used for both survey and marketing purposes such as:
Surveyors – Planning, documenting, surveyors reports, finance planning. Marketing – Sale of the property, social media marketing, refresh online blog/news articles, refresh printed marketing materials.
ST Pauls Square. Based in central Birmingham in the West Midlands, St Pauls square is home to many beautiful buildings, one of those being St Pauls Church.
Our client a chartered surveyor required images of the roof to complete a report. (Statement of fact.) Documenting the buildings condition. Due to the location of this building and footpaths getting access for manned lifts or cherry pickers wasn’t possible.
Perimeter zones, a area of 3m squared was cordoned off to allow for a safe landing and take off zone.
Warning signs. Our brand new warning signs in place for roof survey images.
This week we’ve been working with a new client of ours on the Hartlebury Trading Estate in Worcestershire. We we’re required for a drone roof survey on a industrial property whilst it was in use. Images were required to document a new ventilation system and any damage to the roof for a new internal report.
Here we have a small selection of images showing some of the work we did on the day.
During this aerial project we managed to locate a safe landing and takeoff zone away from pedestrians giving us plenty of room for manoeuvring our machines during takeoff and landing.
As you can see in the above image clearly showing the corrosion from the factory works inside.
A very enjoyable project with a new client, looking forward to re-visiting soon!
Last week (early September) we shot a beautiful sunset over Stonnall, West Midlands. Near Aldridge this beautiful village has rolling fields all round and offers the perfect opportunity to capture a wonderful rural image.
Recently we’ve been working in Dartmoor National Park capturing establishing drone video footage for a short film.
Our client required us to shoot a series of 4k moving images which will be used in a company promotion and here is how it turned out. Once the film is released we will show more of our aerial work from this aerial video shoot in Devon.
A crew of 3 helped create this shot, timing traffic. Also keeping an eye of wildlife and the general public it was a great team effort. This clip will be further graded in the final edit.
