So let me start by saying this again, I am a complete ROOKIE at this MOD thing, so please spare me from eye rolling and lectures on how much clueless I am, I KNOW, this is why I am asking..lol
OK, so this weekend I put some new toys in, I already have Big Gonzo's on it, now got Lloyd's air filter, Lloyd's timing gear (+4) and throttle ring. I have a couple of questions, I can notice a slight increase in power and a decrease on exhaust poping, I originally put it at +6 but got scared to...
other than adding more air to the shock has anyone done this by either adding adjustable lowering links or maybe installing the stock cross country links?
Its crazy to me that I'm even asking this because I got rid of my last bike because it was too tall but I find that I am firmly planted on the magnum with room to spare and I'd like to get cargo capacity and ground clearance up a bit if I can. Links? Shock? Link shock Combo?
It's too bad Polaris killed the brand. My cousin rode my XCT over the weekend and instantly fell in love. He's been riding Harley's for some time now and was in awe of it for the size and weight and how flickable it is and being so nimble. He told his girlfriend NOT to get on the back as she would never want to get off as the seat was so comfortable. He was completely mystified as to why Polaris would kill such a great bike and brand.
hello all!! I am considering buying WD Muscle Mufflers! Opinions? Also was wondering if there is anyone in or around Nebraska running these mufflers that would be willing to meet up so I could hear them in person?
Have got everything but the amp in my hands and was reading the instructions. Looks like I'm gonna have to strip the bike way down to install. Have to pull the bags and rear fender to mount the amp, drill holes in the bags, then pull the tank and front of the fairing to run a cable to the front.
Has anyone done this so I might get some ideas on how long it will take?
Also bought new floorboards and they say they work for the XC but not the Magnum. Aren't they pretty much the same?
So here is my first post. I've been reading threads, learning this bike and just gaining knowledge.
I figured it was time to weigh in and get some feedback.
I have (had) a bone stock '12 Vegas 8 Ball. Thought it was about time to hear this big Ole 106'.
So I order the following very basic stage 1 items.
- Freedom Performance Radius exhaust (black due to being an 8 Ball).
- Lloyd's gaskets.
- Dobeck EJK Gen III.
- Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake.
- VictoryOnly's short sissybar.
Not because of engine heat...my switch for the heated seat must be shot. I pulled the seat at a gas stop, unplugged it, and all was good. I looked all over the parts list at the Polaris website and they don't even show the seat with switches, let alone call them out with part numbers. anyone have a part number for me? Can you change out the switch?
I will be doing this run when the Vermont Winter weather (Snow) clears and reasonable weather prevails. From Somerset Country NJ, (up and back), same day; sort of (IBA)-ish. For me: 311 miles, 5:27 minutes up, and 306 miles, 5:10 minutes back...figure 1hour for lunch. Any takers? Jump in anywhere! Rt. 17 is rated as one of 6 best rides? Kinda like the Cherohala and the Tail of the Dragon put together!
NY- Mason Dixer's; this would be easy for you!
