While the official calendar start to summer might still be a few weeks away, Memorial Day Weekend is always the unofficial start to summer in my mind. And there’s no better way to kick off that summer feeling than by unpacking all those white pants you’ve had put away since Labor Day, and celebrate with a tall refreshing Lemonade Sparkler.

Admittedly, this post was originally titled Winter Skincare Favorites, but it’s taken me a while to get around to posting everything. However, with Sephora’s 20% off sale going on now, this post is better timed for your wallet, so you’re welcome. I’m now at the ripe old age of my mid-30s where all my friends and I swap skincare tips. As someone who used to fly over 100 flights a year for work, my skin was always the first thing that showed my travel stress – either with breakouts or being super dry or when I was working in Florida, super oily. If I have to really credit anyone for my skincare it’s the team at Christine’s Day Spa and Electrolysis that I’ve been going to since college. If you ever want a facial where you walk out absolutely glowing and refreshed, I cannot recommend Christine’s more (especially my favorite, Nancy!). In between facials (or when I wasn’t living in Boston for a few years) I have tried out so many different skincare products. This list is my tried and true year-round products that are especially perfect now that we are in spring and I don’t need heavy overnight moisturizers to fight the brutal Boston winters. I’ve tried to link anything that you can buy from Sephora directly there, so make sure to order up while the big sale is going on.  (more…)

There are two things in this world that I will always love: birthdays and Funfetti cake. So a recipe that combines both of those things into a delicious hand-held form will definitely be met with some serious cartoon heart eyes on my end. I’ve been to Milk Bar in NYC a few times on trips down there, so when I heard that my spirit animal Christina Tosi was opening a Milk Bar in Boston recently and birthday cake truffles would be just a short trip across the river, I could not have been more excited. So in celebration of the new Boston Milk Bar, and my birthday today, I’m giving you Christina’s recipe for b’day truffles so you can celebrate properly.

Its our first official snow day in Boston and after a wintery weekend I’ve finally caught up on some recipes for the blog. Admittedly, I always get sucked into all of the new year’s resolutions diet fads each year and every time the hardest part is giving up that something sweet, especially when the sugar cravings hit after dinner. So I am always looking for new ways to eat healthy, while still getting a little bit of chocolate into my diet. And these Snickerdoodle Almond Butter Protein Balls are an after-dinner (or anytime) snack that you can really feel good about, for many reasons.  (more…)

We somehow survived what felt like the longest January ever and I’ve got the sweetest reward for you. These Chocolate Peanut Butter Valentine’s Cookies are not only the most delicious chocolate and peanut butter combo, but they are extra sweet since they are for a good cause. I’ve baked up this sweet treat as part of the 2019 Good Cookies Food Bloggers Valentine’s Event to benefit out of my favorite charities, Cookies for Kids Cancer. I’ve been eyeing the Reese’s Hearts in CVS ever since they took down the Christmas candy, and challenged myself with trying to fit as much chocolate and peanut butter as humanly possible into one cookie. And based on the results, I think these cookies are a sweet success.

Now that we’ve officially entered arctic freeze season in the Northeast, we all deserve some warm and delicious comfort food for breakfast. Plus, by the end of this week most of you will have given up on your New Year’s resolutions or finished whatever day 30-day terribly restrictive diet that would have prevented you from eating this delicious treat. So treat yourself with the best flavor combination I’ve mashed together to make this Banana Gingerbread. The holidays got me in the mood for all things gingerbread flavored. And I love banana bread. So after a few rounds of recipe testing, I think you’re going to love this Banana Gingerbread.  (more…)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. You can eat cookies literally any time of day judgement free. Breakfast cookie? Hell yeah. Shower cookie? Sure. Post workout Christmas cookie? Why not? Everywhere you look, there are cookies and I couldn’t be happier. This is my time to shine. A few years ago I started a cookie swap with a bunch of friends after I missed the entry deadline for a big food blogger cookie swap. Well that was the best thing I could have missed, because as a result we have grown from about 10 cookie swap participants to over 27 this year. This was the final week for everyone to submit their recipes so my inbox has been flooded with delicious drool-worthy cookies. These Chocolate Peppermint Sprinkle Cookies were one of two recipes I baked for my cookie swap match and I’ve already made them twice more since.

As a frequent traveler who used to rack up over 120 flights annually, I can tell you from personal experience that there are a lot of must-haves for those of us who live/have lived that Up-in-the-Air life. These are also just as useful for those of you who travel much less frequently. Whether you’re in need of some noise-cancelling headphones on a kid-filled flight to Orlando or the perfect carry-on to avoid checked bag fees, I’ve got my traveler essentials in this gift guide.  (more…)
