Valid

Every week I share the outfits I wore for my shifts at Maurices but what would it look like if I restyled the same clothes for off duty looks? I challenged myself to do just that this week. Here are two ways to wear some awesome Maurices pieces!

Links to exact pieces to purchase will always be available below the outfits!

Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are the easiest thing to repeat in your summer closet. For work I paired mine with a nice top and a layer of necklaces. For play I wore red pieces to contrast the blue denim. You can’t go wrong either way!

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices shorts | Maurices sneakers | Thrifted white top and red purse, $2 | Modcloth flower shirt, gift (past season) | Lulu*s sandals, $19 (past season) | Colourpop lippie stix in Trust Me (buy exact lipstick)

Teal Shorts

You might not think teal shorts are versatile but they are! Floral is a foolproof pattern to wear with the color because the different shades of green kind of blends with the shorts. I went a little edgy for off duty and ethereal for on the clock!

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices shorts | Walmart silver sandals, 75 cents (past season) | Lulu*s nude sandals, $19 (past season) | Maurices red lip crayon | Thrifted everything else

Camo or Animal Print?

That was the question we were asked to answer for our district wide outfit challenge this week. My co-worker picked camouflage for me to style. Of course I chose a pink piece to make it more “me”! What do you think of my styling?

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices jeggings | Maurices camo tee, not sold online | Maurices cardigan | Maurices bralette | Maurices wedges | Maurices stadium bag

Graphic Tee

Doesn’t this shirt rock? I love it so much that I’d wear it exactly the same if I wasn’t on the clock. That’s why you only get one look!

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices MTV tee | Maurices jeggings | Maurices leopard print sneakers | Maurices bralette | Thrifted plaid shirt, $1 | Revlon lipstick in Really Red (buy exact lipstick)

Coming Soon

While you’re all still wearing summer clothes (because, duh, it’s summer!) the fashion world is already churning out pre-fall styles.

I had some fun peeping the upcoming trends during my shift at Maurices recently. Here’s what you’ll be wearing soon!

This post contains affiliate links & I may receive a commission if you click or complete a purchase through them.

Floored

“Pre-fall” is pretty much what it sounds. They are colors and patterns that you’d wear in autumn but in cuts that you can get away with right now.

Out of all three collections on the floor, I’m digging “Paradise Breeze” the most because it’s full of bright orange-y pieces and animal print. There’s even some light pinks thrown in, if that’s more your thing.

All Dressed Up

Based on that, my top picks to take into my dressing room should be no surprise. Just take a look!

Orange, leopard, and denim – oh my!

Playing Favorites

One of the best parts of my job is getting to actually try clothes on as soon as they hit the floor. As stylists, we’re actually encouraged to do it so we can get first hand experience with the garments and better understand how they fit on a real live body.

So here’s what I tried on as well as what I thought!

Super High Rise Jeggings and Smocked Top – I was just talking about my search for high waisted jeans in my June thrift haul video and then we got this style in! As a girl with a long torso, I can attest that these really do hit my natural waist and are comfortable to boot as they’re made just like our jeggings.

This orange smocked top perfectly compliments these jeggings, too. It’s a shorter top that sort of plays on the peplum trend with an elastic waistband. I’m obsessed with the bold color!

Cheetah Tank, Duster Cardigan, Rust Jeggings, Taupe Booties – Rather than just try clothes on, I decided to style them a little. Leopard print is a neutral so it was easy to pair with all these other fab pieces. I felt very chic!

This would be such a great look for participating in outdoor fall activities. I’ll be waiting for my invite!

Tie Front Top, Floral Kimono – This wouldn’t be a true Hannah Rupp fashion post if there wasn’t a kimono. I love the floral print on this navy one. It has so many colors that it’s a dream to style. You could wear it with almost anything!

For the curious, the knot on this top is actually functional. You can make it tighter or looser depending on your preference – or whatever you ate that day.

Animal Print Dress, Cropped Denim Jacket, Floral Dress – I tried both of these dresses on a whim and I was not disappointed. This animal print one is halter style so I felt best adding a cropped denim jacket over the top. I think it made it look cuter!

And this floral dress was pretty ‘meh’ on the hanger but improved once it was on my body. It could still have been better so my co-worker, Angie, had the brilliant idea of adding a belt… but we didn’t have any. So she MacGuyver’ed one out of a purse strap. Stylists are truly superheros.

Tie Front Shirt, Scoop Neck Pullover – Surprise! This tie front shirt comes in a variety of colors and patterns to suit your style. This is the same one as before except I sized down which I felt fit me much better.

This bell sleeve top… I’m obsessed. No critiques at all! * adds to cart immediately *

We have an unofficial motto at Maurices that says you should only wear an outfit you’d be proud to share on social media so I’m taking that to heart by sharing my outfits that I’ve worn for my shifts this week! Hopefully this will inspire you if you also work in a creative environment.

Links to exact pieces to purchase will always be available below the outfits!

Red On Arrival

I started off this very patriotic week with an alternative red, white and blue look. Then I noticed the colors of the main part of my outfit matched this kimono and that’s how this colorful creation was made!

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices jeggings | Maurices sneakers | Maurices kimono (past season) | Thrifted tee, $1.50 (old Maurices!) | Colourpop lippie stix in Contempo (buy exact lipstick) | DIY necklace

That Floral Feeling

Another day, another kimono. The funny thing is that my coworker and I both showed up in very similar floral kimonos. Totally unplanned!

I paired mine with this thrifted velvet tank (tank tops are very hot right now at Maurices!), denim shorts, and platform sandals. It also inspired my look for our weekly outfit challenge….

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices shorts | Maurices necklace | Thrifted everything else, $8 total | L’oreal lipstick in Saucy Mauve (buy exact lipstick)

Weekly Outfit Challenge

Our weekly outfit challenge was focused on denim shorts (hence why I wore mine to work so I didn’t have to change!) and encouraged us to try a high-low look – meaning our outfit had elements of casual and dressy. This is what I came up with based on that information! How did I do?

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices denim shorts | Maurices tank top | Maurices kimono | Maurices high heels (similar pair) | Maurices purse

Miss America

This is probably the easiest outfit I’ve ever planned. You really can’t mess up wearing red, white, and blue on the 4th of July!

My flag tee was part of a $5 promotion (yep, no strings attached!) so I got one to be very on brand. It was so fun seeing customers walk in all day with their own patriotic outfits!

 WHAT I’M WEARING
Maurices tee | Thrifted skirt, $4 | Lulu*s sandals, $19 (past season) | Colourpop lippie stix in Trust Me (buy exact lipstick)
