The Luxe Boheme | A Lifestyle Guide For The Modern Day Hippie
I created The Luxe Bohème to document my daily adventures and as an outlet for my creativity. Obsessed with all things beautiful, I consider myself to be a beauty guru and a style oracle. The main focus of my blog was style & beauty but I had so much more to give and thus redirected my blog into a lifestyle guide focused on modern bohemian living.
One of the biggest changes I’ve made is switching out my morning coffee for my morning matcha. While the initial change was difficult, I stuck with it and quickly saw the benefits. One of the most drastic changes was avoiding that jittery over caffeinated feeling that I knew all too well. Another change was avoiding the energy drop that signaled to my brain that it’s time for another coffee. At one point I was having 3-5 cups of coffee per day. That’s a lot of coffee and a ton of caffeine. This caused adrenal fatigue and I constantly felt out of balance and faced a rollercoaster of energy levels daily. With Matcha my energy levels were more stable and I never got that awful jittery feeling that I often faced with coffee. I now no longer consume coffee and have made a total switch to Matcha!

Energy Boosting Matcha Latte Recipe (Gluten Free & Vegan Friendly)
Serving size = 1 latte
1/8 tsp of ground vanilla bean powder (I use Vanillamax by bulletproof)
1/8 tsp of cinnamon ( I use Vietnamese Cinnamon by Frontier Co-op)
1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder (I use Organic Ceremonial by DoMatcha)
1-2 spoons of sweetener of your choice (I use Organic cane sugar or Honey (Not Vg) Other good vegan alternatives are agave and maple syrup)
3/4 cup nut milk (or your favorite non-dairy alternative) (I use Unsweetened by Milkadamia)
In a cup combine all of the dry ingredients, mix well and set aside.
In a pan bring the milk to a boil and remove from the heat.
Add the milk to your cup of dry ingredients and whisk until smooth. (a bamboo whisk works best but you can use whatever you have on hand)
If using liquid sweetener (honey, agave, maple syrup) add this as your final step and mix well before drinking.
I purchased this set a couple months ago after the holidays. My SA told me it’s limited but I still see it offered occasionally.
My first Impressions are the value can’t be beat. You get three bags for under seven hundred dollars. For Louis Vuitton that’s generous to say the least. This would be an awesome set for anyone looking to make their first luxury bag purchase.
The smallest size is perfect for credit cards and a little cash. The medium size can fit my iPhone X perfectly along with my passport though I mostly use it for storing beauty products. The largest size can fit my empreinte zippy wallet, phone and a lip balm or two. Definitely can’t fit everything but perfect for days that don’t require more than a clutch.
I also love using them for storage at home and for keeping my stuff organized in my larger bags. They really are such an amazing deal and the quality is so good. I definitely recommend them!
On the corner of Grand Ave in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, stands a tall ivory building with gilded gold lettering. You’ve arrived at Bottega Louie, one of the most popular contemporary dining establishments in Downtown LA.
The exterior greets you with a window display full of colorful macaron towers and gorgeous packaging arrangements. No matter how many times I visit I am still in awe of it’s grand and ornate presence. The ceiling has beautiful crown molding and the interior is full of alabaster pillars with delicate gold details throughout.
Now let’s get to the good stuff….the food! So far I’ve been here for breakfast, brunch and lunch but never for dinner. Word of advice, evenings are packed and you’ll usually be waiting for quite awhile. I suggest going any other time of day if you intend to skip the wait.
I enjoyed their Sunday brunch the most and recommend their lobster hash. If you go for brunch, lunch or dinner make sure to order their mushroom fries. They’re so good just thinking about them makes my mouth water!
Dessert is a must and should never be skipped if dining here. Each dessert is presented as a tiny piece of art and are full of unique flavors and textures. I usually bypass the restaurant entirely in favor of their bakery. Full of cakes, delicate custards, cupcakes, beignets and of course macarons! Their desserts are the main attraction and are worth every calorie.
My personal favorite are their macarons. The macarons are gluten free and all taste divine. My personal favorites are the rose, lavender, earl grey, mango and strawberry. Their packaging is gorgeous and the macarons are packed neatly into beautiful boxes and fit perfectly inside. They are then tied off with Bottega Louie signature ribbons. I’ve used them countless times as thank you gifts year-round and they never disappoint. If you’re in the area I definitely recommend visiting if only for their desserts.
The first time I saw this gorgeous plant was at my grandmother’s house. It was one of my favorites and it’s easy to see why! When in bloom the plant produces star shapes flowers in tiny bunches that hang delicately from the ends of it’s vines.
These plants can do really well both indoors and out and it’s one of my favorites to decorate my home with.
My Hoya blooms once a year between August and September. They do take a few years to start blooming so if you want one that blooms I suggest purchasing them in bloom season so you know your plant will bloom for sure.
This beautiful plant requires good sunlight and will do well near a window. It’s a low maintenance plant that requires watering only once the soil dries out completely. For me this is once a week and sometimes less depending on the season. The key to a healthy Hoya plant is to remember when watering, less is more. I also add organic fertilizers once a year and have had good results so far.

After I purchased my Louis Vuitton Palm Springs Mini Backpack, I realized that my current wallet didn’t fit. I was still reeling from my backpack splurge and wasn’t sure if I should indulge again so quickly. It became clear though that my “splurge” was just sitting in my closet and not doing me any good. So I started looking around for a wallet that would fit my bag.
I had a few in mind but finally settled on the Louis Vuitton Zippy also known as their coin purse. Now this is no coin purse mind you, this is actually a compact wallet able to hold multiple cards, cash and coins! I was excited that it could hold so much while still maintaining it’s petite size.
Originally I had the classic monogram in mind but when I saw the wallets in person I fell in love with their premium version. This version features empreinte leather and is embossed with their monogram. The leather was so gorgeous and has a strong grain so I know it’s going to last a long time. The wallet I chose has black leather and gold hardware but it comes in a few other shades as well. The black leather goes great with my Palm Springs Mini and the functionality can’t be beat for it’s size. I also love that it has a zipper closer instead of a button since I’m known to over stuff my wallets.
For me summer style is all about light pieces that provide comfort on hot days. I like to focus of pieces that are easy to put together and and offer light airy movement. Think super thin cotton tees, light weight denim (I love the distressed ones for more air flow) and minimal accessories. Here’s a flay lay I put together that’s prefect for the summer!
Summer’s right around the corner and I’ve taken the plunge investing in another Louis Vuitton handbag. This time I chose the Palm Springs Mini Backpack. I felt this bag really embodied adventure and wanderlust while remaining chic, making it the perfect choice for my summer escapades! I’ve been looking at this bag since winter but felt like I’d get the most use out of it during the summer when I like to keep things minimal. Looking back I definitely made the right choice and I’m glad I waited and purchased the Pochette Metis first.
Louis Vuitton Offers backpacks in a variety of sizes but the mini version is my personal favorite for a few reasons. It’s very versatile and that’s one of the most important aspects of a purse for me. You can adjust the straps to wear it cross body or remove the straps completely and carry it by it’s top handle. Seriously there are so many different opinions for how to wear this bag it’s amazing. Another thing I really like is that the leather is black and not their classic vachetta. This makes keeping the bag clean easier and saves me worry from ruining the vachetta
One of the “cons” about this bag is the tiny compartment on the front and the overall small size of the bag. That bottom compartment is literally so small I have no clue what it’s used for and don’t know if I’m going to even use it at all. My go-to bag size is medium and this is definitely a small. That being said I enjoyed downsizing and found the minimal approach to be more convenient. The biggest “con” is the zippers! They are so stiff and get stuck half way through all the time. This makes getting in and out of the bag cumbersome and frustrating! The SA told me they will loosen up over time but still I find this to be very annoying. Overall though I’ve absolutely loved having this bag and it’s become my daily companion.
For Vogue’s 125th anniversary, they teamed up with Pressed Juicery and created two limited edition juices just in time for summer! For a limited time, they are offering a pink lemonade and a blue lemonade. Both are filled with good for you detoxifying and antioxidant ingredients and tastes like a healthy lemonade. I opted for the pink version which contains camu camu, goji berry, honey, lemon, pitaya, and rose water. It was good on a hot day plus I was fighting a cold so bonus points for drinking something healthy. It comes it a gorgeous fuchsia that makes it oh so Instagram worthy.
