Perfumes are my all time addiction, and I just cannot have enough of them. Sharing with you one of my latest favorite from Burberry- the Touch EDP for women which I purchased from Zurich last year and have been using for special occassions ever since. Read on for my thoughts on this one.
About Burberry Touch EDP:
A fruity, vibrant fragrance of California orange, blackcurrant, dewberry and subtle rose oil
Fresh top notes of seductive jasmine, Madonna lily and tuberose with a delicate hint of peach and raspberry
Cedar wood, oak moss and vanilla complement the fruity notes, adding a soothing warmth
Packaging: The perfume comes in a glass bottle with a wider base than top, and has a wooden cap which gives this a very luxurious feel.
My take on Burberry Touch EDP: This is a soft, casual fragrance and I like wearing it during the day or early evenings. The top notes of blackcurrant, cranberry, pink pepper corn and cassis add freshness to the fragrance. The floral middle notes of rose, lily of the valley and jasmine mix with fruity notes of peaches and raspberries. The end notes of vanilla, cedarwood and oakmoss add warmth to the fragrance, leaving a trail like an English blanket. The overall combination results in a woody-floral-fruity fragrance which is quite distinct from other fragrances in my collection. It is a very fresh but still slightly warm fragrance which is light and intense at the same time. Very sphisticated. Very classy. Very feminine.
Burberry ‘Touch’ stays on me for a good 7-8 hours, with a trail that can be felt the next day too.
If you are looking for a complex yet very feminine fragrance, Burberry Touch should be your next buy.
As much as we love it, lehenga shopping is always a hassle. For us in Delhi, we have the famous Chandni Chowk market for all our budget lehenga needs (and even not so budgeted ones), but if you don’t have access to such markets or the time, there’s always an option of online shopping from the comfort of your home. This time around, I turned to Amazon India website to check out some of the budget lehenga options available, and if they really are worth it! Check out my video below for my Amazon lehenga haul and review!
Amazon budget lehenga shopping
Things to note while buying lehengas online:
If you are buying budget lehengas, you will most likely end up with a replica of a famous lehenga. Most sellers upload pictures of original creations (by designers) and not the replica pieces with them, so you will order something and get something else.
A lot of the same designs are available from multiple sellers at different prices.
The quality depends on the price. Obviously.
Be prepared for shocks. One of the outfits that I bought was nothing like the image uploaded by the seller. This is a big risk of online lehenga shopping.
Read outfit/ product descriptions carefully before buying budget lehengas online. Important things to note are fabric details and lengths (especially dupattas and blouse pieces).
Do check if the outfit/ product comes with a ‘return’ option, in case you end up not liking what you receive.
Service, delivery, return pickup and refund- all these are taken care of very well by Amazon
Amazon Prime subscription really helps. Get it here. Thank me later!
Not all outfits are bad. Sometimes you get really decent ones on a good budget. They do have some great options for online budget lehengas
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is probably the most raved about concealer in the beauty world! I bought this for myself from Sephora Paris during my trip to Paris. Let’s see if it is worth all the hype!
About Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer: Hide even your most scandalous flaws. Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer gives you buildable, even coverage with a luminous, demi-matte finish. Ultra lightweight, this high-tech formula melds like a second skin to give you full coverage in an instant. For complete coverage, just keep building; no matter how much you apply, Naked Skin Concealer always blends beautifully and NEVER settles into fine lines.
Packaging: Comes in a tube with a wand applicator. The applicator is flat and eases application. It is soft on the skin too.
My take on Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer: I have this concealer with me since long now, but I hardly get to use it because I ended up picking the wrong shade. The one that I have is ‘warm neutral’ which is where I faltered- it should have been from the warm category and not neutral. So even though this is a good concealer, I am not able to put it to use much. It ends up looking muddy on me.
The product otherwise has a runny texture which glides on the skin and blends in easily. It also gives medium- buildable coverage without feeling heavy on the skin and stays put creaselessly for about 4-5 hours. True to it’s name, it feels weightless on the skin and does not clog pores. It also does not crease under the eyes when set with a loose powder. One of the best formulations I’ve used on the under eyes for dark circles.
You can see the demo on my eyes below. It is doing a decent job but I would have preferred much better performance. But if only I’d picked up the right shade!
Verdict: Great product to try if you pick up the right shade.
Have you tried the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer? Do share your thoughts below.
A few days back, me and hubby were looking for a weekend out from our usual routine but did not want to drive too far or invest at least 3-4 days for a holiday. When such situations come upon us, we are always looking for hotels around us a weekend staycation to rejuvenate us. Basically a staycation is where you book yourself a room in a hotel, go there and just laze around all day while enjoying the hotel’s hospitality. It is a good time to catch up on movies, TV series, matches etc, with your partner from the comfort of your room without having to worry about anything else. So this past weekend we decided to go down to Hyatt Place Gurgaon for a short break. Read on to know about our experience.
The hotel, with it’s convenient location in the heart of Gurgaon, is excellent for corporates too for a short or long stay. And while you can always book into their standard rooms, for weekend travel we recommend their new Specialty Rooms which offer great value for money at just an additional cost of Rs. 1500 per night. The benefits include happy hours at the Bar for 2 hours from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, complimentary 2 pieces of laundry per day per room on non-cumulative basis and a discount of 15 % on Buffet dinner at Gallery Café in addition to complimentary fruit basket in room, Buffet Breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Who doesn’t want extra pampering during the hotel stay, right?
The rooms are super luxurious with all modern amenities that you can think of, complete with plush beds and couches for comfort. Our room even had a bath tub in the bathroom, without which I feel any hotel stay is incomplete. They also have an always-open gym and a pool for you to take a dip in!
Outfit: HnM | Shoes: Hidesign | Watch: Michael Kors | Sunnies: Giorgio Armani
While a guest is spending time at Hyatt Place, one can enjoy the 24-hour StayFit Gym anytime
at one’s comfort. Further, Hyatt Place offers a complimentary evening drop to Cyber Hub every
weekday for guests to explore the city.
The food at Gallery Cafe is a great accompaniment to the stay. The buffet spreads at the restaurant is sure to cater to everyone’s tastes with Indian, Chinese and other cuisines. They also run specialised promotion from time to time. During our stay, the street food festival was going on and we loved the delicacies prepared by Chef such as samosa chaat, Kolkata kathi roll etc. Do keep an eye out for the latest promotions.
We had a great stay at Hyatt Place Gurgaon and would recommend you to check this hotel out when looking for business hotels in Gurgaon the next time.
If you’ve been following me on social media lately, you’d know how much I’m loving the gorgeous selection of multi-tasking products from MyGlamm. Check out my summer makeup look with some of these products below and let me know how you liked it!
Summer makeup with MyGlamm | Ritu Rajput - YouTube
I love how most of these products perform more than one actions. For someone who’s always on the run and short of time, like you and I, these are great products to inculcate in the beauty regime. So there’s a primer+ color correctors+ foundation in one palette which is so handy and easy to carry too in your purse for touch-ups. No need to carry 5 different products now for the base makeup.
There’s an eye shadow palette that I absolutely love, and which for the first time, has an eye primer too which does a great job at keeping the eye shadows looking fresh for long. The eyeliner stick comes with a brow filling powder on the other end which works really well. The cheek palette has a blush, contouring and highlighting powders in one sleek palette which makes contouring and blushing so much easier.
For those who love playing with colors on the lips, they have plenty of options. So there’s a crayon stick which you can line and fill your lips with, or just go ahead with a double ended lipstick and lip gloss combo.
All MyGlamm products are cruelty free, made in Italy and dermatologically & ophthalmologically tested which make them safe for usage.
So if you are craving for that easy peasy summer makeup look that a) lasts you through the evening and b) takes minimum number of products to create, check out my video and see these MyGlamm products in action for yourself. Each May, Hollywood’s best and brightest congregate at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the most spectacular meeting of fashion and fundraising. The Met Gala, for short, has become a stage on which to showcase the most daring and out-there couture outfits based on each year’s given theme. It’s also an opportunity to raise funds for the Met’s Costume Institute and to herald the opening of its new major exhibition.
If you’re into fashion, then the Met Gala should have pride of place on your calendar. Not only is it an opportunity to see what the best designers come up with each year but it also supports an initiative that educates about fashion’s place in society and culture. Vogue’s Anna Wintour is the chair of the event and she is a woman who knows the impact that fashion can have on all walks of life. This year, her guest co-chairs included human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, pop superstar Rihanna and fashion legend, Donatella Versace.
The 2018 Met Gala saw guests dress to the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Although Rihanna might win the award for the most outrageous outfit in her papal-inspired gown and hat, plenty of other celebrities also took the grandiose theme and ran with it. Many women, including Janelle Monae, Blake Lively and Cardi B, wore stylized headdresses in the image of celestial halos while Katy Perry went full-on angel with a pair of enormous feathered wings.
Actress, writer and new mom Mindy Kaling appeared glowing in a regal gown by Vassilis Zoulias and matching crown headpiece by Pericles Kondylatos. Mindy must be well versed with Met Gala etiquette by now, having filmed a fictional version of it for her upcoming blockbuster “Ocean’s 8” as well as attending the real thing! In the reboot of the well-loved Ocean’s series, Mindy plays criminal jewelry designer Amita. The films have traditionally featured fast-paced, complex plots set in the glitzy world of casinos, high-tech heists and five-star hotels, but this year’s all-female cast hit up the Met Gala for some criminal masterminding of their own.
Fellow Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra wowed those watching in a spectacular Ralph Lauren outfit incorporating a deep red velvet dress with a gold beaded hood. The hood was made with Swarovski crystals and took Ralph Lauren’s team over 250 hours to hand bead. Currently, Chopra stars in U.S. TV show “Quantico,” but had a busy month of May as she also attended her close friend’s wedding. That friend was Meghan Markle, and she happened to be marrying HRH Prince Harry!
Other notable outfits included Deepika Padukone wearing Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung, who accompanied her to the event. This natural pairing of the designer with muse resulted in a beautiful cardinal red dress (the actress’ signature shade) with exquisite draping and an asymmetrical yet balanced design. Padukone is reportedly marrying at the end of this year, so will we see her next in a Prabal Gurung wedding gown?
The Met Gala is always a great reminder of how fashion is supposed to be fun and creative as well as beautiful. Outrageous touches to outfits like Mindy Kaling’s crown or Rihanna’s papal miter incorporate the theme as well as giving everybody something to talk about for months to come. Although it’s a whole year to wait until the next installment of this “fashion Oscars,” there’s plenty to look at in 2018’s photos until then!

So the world had just gotten over the Sonam Kapoor- Anand Ahuja wedding barely a day ago, and this afternoon, we come to know that Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi too tied the knot. Read on for the deets.
PS: Some very beautiful pictures inside!
The best friend duo got married today in a private ceremony with just family and close friends in a Gurudwara in Delhi. The wedding preparations were heavily guarded, and there was no buzz in the media till after the wedding got over. Neha and Angad both announced the wedding in the afternoon on their social media handles, calling this the best decision of their lives.
The wedding pics look sureal. There’s so much simplicity and beauty in the pics that we are falling short of words. There’s something about summer weddings that we love so much!
Neha wore a pastel pink lehenga (from Anita Dongre?) along with heavy jadau jewelry with green emerals to add contrast to the outfit. Her makeup was simple with her signature smoky eyeliner and n*de lips look. She wore a fuchsia pink bindi to complement Angad’s outfit, who wore a white sherwani with fuchsia pink pocket accents & dupatta. He also wore a classic pink turban in keeping with the Gurudwara rituals.
We love Neha Dhupia’s bridal look here- for a day wedding on a hot summer morning here in Delhi, she wore such a gorgeous outfit. It is not loaded with embroidery and bling, and looks just perfect for such an occassion. The gajras in her bun, pastel pink nail paint and dangling kalire only complete her look.
Aren’t these some of the most gorgeous pictures ever? Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi look so much in love. Here’s wishing them a lifetime of happiness and married bliss!
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are getting hitched as we write this post, but having seen Sonam as the real bride, we couldn’t wait to share all the outfit pics with you all here in one place! Needless to say, the fashionista looks every bit stunning in all her wedding functions.
They chose to have all the functions done at home, except the wedding reception happening at The Leela later. In a recent interview, Sonam said she was against elaborate expenses on weddings, and opted for simple functions, mostly at home. Her wedding function is happening at her Aunt’s place in Mumbai.
The Mehendi look
For the mehendi function, Sonam wore a peach and grey lehenga by Anuradha Vakil. The subtle colors enhanced by muted gold borders made for a beautiful outfit. She kept her hair open and wore just earrings for jewelry. Simplicity redefined!
The sangeet function had an all white theme, with everyone at the function wearing shades of ivory in some form or other. Sonam wore an Abu Jani- Sandeep Khosla ivory and gold outfit which took 18 months to come to life, and looked every bit stunning. The chikankari lehenga had different designs on each panel of the skirt, and was paired with a backless blouse with the most beautiful detailing.
Sonam wore heavy traditional jewelry here ad opted for criss-cross mogra gajras in her hair. The gajra is back and how!
We love the fact that Sonam went with red as the choice of color for her bridal outfit. We love brides in red! This outfit, again by Anuradha Vakil, is another stunning one. With lotus motifs and broad borders on the skirt, the red stands out beautifully. Sonam is going with the double dupatta trend. We also notice that the border on the second dupatta is different here- the side directly on the head is a simple border whereas the side which is flowing behind her has a broad border with intricate work.
So I may be that one blogger who takes ages to pen down travelogues, but better late than sorry, right? So me and my husband Rahul went to Italy and Greece on our honeymoon last year (yes, yes, I’m writing this THAT late), and here’s sharing some of our most enjoyable moments.
For the honeymoon, we decided to opt for a private tour arranged by a travel agency for us, since we didn’t want to get into the nitty gritties of travel planning alongside the wedding planning. Hence, it’s always good to have some help at hand to arrange for the hotels, tickets and transportation etc. Our vendors were FCM Travel Solutions and we highly recommend them!
Coming back to the trip, we landed in Rome from Delhi, and had our first day off to just relax in the city. Both of us decided to head out quickly to explore the city on our own. Both of us being addicted to exploring new places by foot, I remember clocking 14,000 steps in just that evening. What fun it was, strolling in the lanes of Rome with my husband by my side! (Details at the end of this post)
The next day, we were out and about on a trip to Roman tourist places and a half day trip to Vatican City. We reached the historical Trevi Fountain as our first stop over. It is at the junction of 3 roads, hence the name ‘tre vie’ and is one of the most famous fountains in the world! This is one of the most famous tourist spots in Rome, and it mostly surrounded by a lot of tourists at all times.
After the Trevi fountain, we took another long walk to reach the Pantheon, earlier a Roman temple, now a Church. On the inside, the Pantheon is a marvel in itself. The large dome with a hole in the centre (eye of the Pantheon) is the largest unsupported dome in the world, and the architecture on the walls playing a major role in the beauty of the place. Raphael, the famous Renaissance painter, is buried inside.
Right outside the Pantheon is a fountain, surrounded by many cafes in the vicinity for you to enjoy a cup of coffee or an Italian meal. You can even take a horse carriage ride if you fancy!
A short walk later, we reached Piazza Navona in Rome. The beauty of this complex with a majorly white architecture against the blue clouds is something which is sure to leave you mesmerised. The Fountain of the Four Rivers is the central attraction here, and with the crowds around it all the time, you may have to patiently wait to get a picture clicked. The baroque architecture can be observed for hours together.
Next we reached the Basilica of St. Peter or St. Peter’s Basilica via a tour bus. The rest of the day was spent exploring Vatican city and it’s architecture, the museums and the Sistine Chapel with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgement by Michelangelo. When visiting the museums, make sure to take care of your neck coz you’ll only be looking at those 3D baroque ceilings for long.
Towards the evening, we felt as if our Rome tour was incomplete. Little did we realise that the Colosseum was missing from our itinerary. That evening, we walked a LOT to reach The Colosseum by foot, and finally managed to get a glimpse from outside, if not inside. We really couldn’t have left Rome without a visit to this famous spot!
That’s the two of us after a very long and tiring day.
Where we stayed:
In Rome, we stayed at the Augusta Lucilla Palace. It is at a very convenient spot for tourists. Nice and comfortable stay. Breakfast buffets were ok. The only thing we did not like was that they do not provide irons, nor allow you to plug in yours, which is a bummer while travelling for people like us who like wearing neatly ironed clothes only. The best part, however, was that the beds have in-built remote controlled massagers which come in really handy after a long day!
A few minutes away from the hotel is Santa Maria Maggiore, largest Catholic Marian church in Rome. We spent our evenings here, taking a stroll in the crisp windy evenings, grabbing coffee and pies in nearby cafes. Bliss. Miss it!
In the early weeks of March, Rome was blooming with spring flowers all around, making the streets look even more beautiful in the evenings.
Restaurants we dined at:
Nuova Stella: Great pasta, stuffed chicken and paired wines. They have their own wines too which you must try!
Tomoko Tudini, Rome: We tried an artichoke first. It was way too bland for our Indian palates. Till this day, we joke about this artichoke in a fun way. It was funny in an odd way to pay an exorbitant amount for something so bland. Still not over it!
Settled for a safe bet later, the margharita pizza later on to finish our meal. Since both of us do not consume pork and beef, a lot of options on the menu were out of our comfort zone.
