Manchester United have been linked with numerous attackers in the summer transfer window and a new name is in the lime light in the form of Trabzonspor’s Yusuf Yazici.
Yesterday, Asist Analiz came up with a headline stating “Giant bid for Yusuf Yazici from Manchester United”.
The Turkish outlet claimed that Man United are preparing a serious offer worth (£27.8million) 31 million euros (27 million euros cash and 4 million euros in add-ons) to hire the services of the Turkish international.
The 22-year-old is naturally an attacking midfielder but in the Super Lig, he has also played in the central midfield and on the flanks.
Yazici made his senior international debut back in 2017 and so far, he has earned 14 caps.
We have been heavily linked with a Portuguese attacking midfielder in the form of Bruno Fernandes for quite some time and as per reports, we are still in the lead to secure his signature (Correio da Manha).
If we compare the stats of Yazici and Fernandes, the winner will be the Portuguese international. The Sporting CP star plays in a more competitive league and netted 32 goals and provided 18 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions last term.
On the other hand, Yazici only scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists in 34 appearances for the Super Lig club.
Fernandes helped his club win two cup titles and was part of Portugal’s Nations League winning campaign as well. On the other hand, the Turkish attacker has not won a single title in his career as yet.
As far as United are concerned, we have a natural AM in the form of Mata but the Spaniard mainly played on the flanks last season. The former Chelsea man only started 21 games for us but still managed to score 6 goals and provide 4 assists.
Therefore, we should push to sign a proven quality attacker and Fernandes would be a top addition.
The Guardian have claimed that Steve Bruce is poised to become the next manager of the Magpies after the departure of Spanish boss Rafael Benitez. It is mentioned that key players like Perez and Rondon have already left Tyneside and now Longstaff is on the verge of moving to Man United.
Former Liverpool manager, Benitez, handed Longstaff his first team debut last season and under his guidance, the England international excelled.
The central midfielder started in eight games in the Premier League, netted his first goal for the first team vs Burnley and provided a crucial assist vs champions Manchester City.
Moreover, the 21-year-old midfielder also found the net vs Blackburn in the FA Cup.
A week back, Sky Sports News reported that Newcastle United want more than £50million for their youngster.
Without doubt, the above mentioned price tag is extremely high taking into consideration that the player has played very few games and he has been out of action since March due to a knee injury.
We are covering a rumor on Bruno Fernandes after quite some time now that there is a key update in the transfer saga.
On 28th June, London Evening Standard reported that the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham have pulled out of the race to sign the Portuguese attacker, leaving Man United clear to hire his services.
Now, reports in Portugal (Correio da Manha) suggest that the president of Sporting CP met with the sporting director of Manchester City this week and the transfer of the Seleccao attacking midfielder, who is valued at 70 million euros (£63million), was discussed.
The renowned Portuguese outlet have claimed that because of the good relations between Sporting and Man City, the PL champions could return to charge to sign Fernandes, however, for now, Manchester United are leading the race to sign the 24-year-old star, who is still on Tottenham’s radar as well.
In the last PL campaign, champions Manchester City scored 95 goals and runners up Liverpool netted 89 goals. On the other hand, Man United only managed to score 65 goals.
So, in order to challenge the best of teams next season, Solskajer needs attacking players, who can regularly score and create goals. In such a scenario, Bruno Fernandes would be a quality addition.
In all competitions, the Portuguese star featured in 53 games for the Primeira Liga club last season and directly contributed in 50 goals (38 goals and 12 assists).
Fernandes helped Sporting CP win two cup titles in the last campaign and last month, he helped Portugal win the UEFA Nations League.
Today, Correire della Serra have come up with an update and claimed that there is no talk of 120-130 million euros, instead, a fee of 80 million euros (£72million) will be enough to secure the signing of the 24-year-old star.
The Italian outlet have mentioned that Lazio president, Lotito, and sporting director, Tare, met with Milinkovic-Savic’s agent Mateja Kezman to discuss the transfer. It is stated that Man Utd are hottest on the chase for the former Genk man, their leaders have been in contact with the player’s representative and an offer could be made.
In the 2017-18 season, the Serbian international netted 12 goals in 33 league starts for Lazio but in the last campaign, his form dipped big time and he only scored 5 goals in 29 league starts.
Correire della Serra have stated that last year, Milinkovic-Savic was thinking about leaving the Italian side but it did not happen. Therefore, his mental condition was not right and he could not perform up to the mark. Now, it is mentioned that the player still wants to leave and Lazio are willing to fulfill his demand if the price is right, however, he is also ready to stay with the right frame of mind.
Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba is linked with a move away from Old Trafford and The Sun have recently revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to hold on to the World Cup winning midfielder.
As confirmed by super agent Mino Raiola, we know that the French international wants to leave United (The Times).
In your view, should the Red Devils keep Pogba knowing that he does not want to stay?
Manchester United continue to be linked with Leicester City star Harry Maguire and the latest update seem very positive for the Red Devils.
This transfer saga has taken a lot of twists:
On 26th June, Mirror Sport claimed that the Red Devils left the race to sign the center back due to the Foxes’ huge demands.
On 2nd July, Mirror Sport reported that the Old Trafford club made an offer of £70million for the former Hull City man. However, the player reportedly wanted a move to Man City to play in the Champions League next season.
On 6th July, The Sun exclusively revealed that the Sky Blues are no longer looking to sign in the England international and United have a clear path to hire his services from Leicester City, who want a fee of £85million for their prized asset.
Now, as per the latest update provided by Goal.com yesterday, the 26-year-old is flattered by United’s interest and is ready to move to Old Trafford.
Maguire was impressive for the Three Lions at the World Cup 2018 and also for Leicester City in the last campaign. He commanded the Foxes’ back-line, that conceded 48 goals in the PL, 6 goals fewer than Manchester United.
Apart from being a strong central defender, the England international is a threat in the attacking third as well. He scored three goals in all competitions last season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got more than a few central defenders at his disposal but the Norwegian boss does not have a defensive leader and he badly needs to lure one this summer.
If United do end up spending £85million to secure the signing of Maguire, then he will become the most expensive defender ever.
At the moment, Matic is our first choice defensive midfielder. The Serbian international was inconsistent last season and failed to provide a solid cover in front of the back four.
The former Benfica star will turn 31 next month, he is slow and past his best and in my view, Solskjaer should sell and replace him.
As far as Bakayoko is concerned, the Les Bleus midfielder was impressive for Monaco in their title winning 2016-17 campaign.
In 2017, Chelsea hired his services when Italian boss Antonio Conte was in charge of the club. The French international arrived to replace Matic at Stamford Bridge but after a torrid season, he was loaned out to AC Milan last year.
Last season, the £110,000-a-week (The Star) player was solid in the holding midfield role for AC Milan, who finished 5th in the table. In 26 league starts, Bakayoko helped the Rossoneri keep 12 clean sheets. Moreover, the seven time European champions had the third best defensive record in the Serie A.
Now, the 24-year-old midfielder has returned to the London based club, who have recently appointed a new manager in the form of Frank Lampard and a decision on his future will be made soon (RMC Sport).
In your opinion, should United sign Bakayoko to replace Matic?
Manchester United have been heavily linked with Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the past few days and the latest reports are intriguing.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Red Devils are ready to make a bid worth 75 million euros (£67million) to hire the services of the Lazio midfielder.
However, the renowned Italian source have stated that the Italian side’s initial demand is to get 120 million euros (£107million) for their prized asset. Furthermore, it is mentioned that club president, Lotito, is already looking at options to replace the former Genk player.
As far as Manchester United’s midfield is concerned, Ander Herrera has already left the club and moved to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Veteran defensive midfielder, Matic, was inconsistent in the last campaign and as per ESPN, the Serbian international is seeking talks about his future with Solskajer knowing that the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in luring him.
On the other hand, record signing Paul Pogba is also linked with a move away from Old Trafford with the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus after him (Calcio Mercato).
Not to forget, last summer’s signing Fred has not lived up to his price tag as yet and McTominay only played a handful of games last season.
Therefore, the situation in the center of the park does not look stable. Solskjaer should hold on to his key players and at the same time, he must splash the cash to improve the department’s quality and depth as well.
In your view, who should the Norwegian manager sign to strengthen his midfield in the summer transfer window?
Now, according to an exclusive report covered by 90min, Manchester City are not prepared to meet Leicester’s asking price, leaving Man United clear to agree a deal to sign the Three Lions defender.
I was one of those United supporters who laughed at Liverpool when they broke their transfer record to sign Van Dijk from Southampton.
Now, the Dutch international looks like a bargain. The Reds had the best defensive record in the Premier League with Van Dijk commanding the back-line and to be honest, at Old Trafford, we need someone like him.
The Anfield club were persistent in their efforts to lure the Netherlands star from the Saints because Klopp knew how important he was.
So, if Solskjaer is confident that Maguire has what it takes to solve our defensive woes then he must do whatever it takes (even pay £90million if needed) to lure the 26-year-old.
At the moment, Manchester United are linked with a few quality midfielders mainly because record signing Pogba is linked with a move away from the club. Recently, super agent Mino Raiola confirmed that the French international wants to leave Old Trafford (The Times).
Yesterday, we covered a report (via AS) claiming that the PL giants have made contact to lure Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid. Now, another name is in the lime light.
The Red Devils were linked with Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic last year and now the Lazio star is in the focus again.
According to Sport Mediaset, Manchester United are pressing to hire the services of the 24-year-old star in the summer transfer window.
The renowned Italian outlet have reported that a year ago, Lazio were looking to get a fee of 120 million euros for their prized asset. Now, after a not so good campaign, the Serie A side would like to get 100 million euros (£89.6million) for the midfielder but they might have to settle for just 80 million euros.
The central/attacking midfielder directly contributed in 15 goals in 33 league starts in the 2017-18 campaign. However, last season, his form dipped and in 29 league starts, he directly contributed in just 8 goals.
Former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman, who played under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, is now the agent of the Serbian midfielder. Our former boss wanted Milinkovic-Savic (The Sun) but was sacked last year. Can Solskjaer get his signing done? We shall see.
I’ve always believed that we should not keep a player against his will and the same goes for Pogba. The French international has got world class quality but unfortunately, for us, he has been far too inconsistent.
Now that he wants to leave, he should be allowed to go and Solskjaer must sign a quality replacement. In your view, should United lure Niguez or Milinkovic-Savic?
Manchester United have been linked with Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff for quite some time.
In the past few weeks, multiple reports have suggested that the Red Devils are looking to make an offer to hire the services of the England international but there is one big difference in the latest reports i.e. the price tag.
Last month, The Metro claimed that United are confident about signing the 21-year-old midfielder after the departure of former Liverpool boss Benitez from Newcastle. It was stated that the Magpies want £30million for the player.
Now, as per the latest update provided by Sky Sports News, Man Utd are readying a move for Longstaff but Newcastle do want to hold on to him and have told that he will cost more than £50million i.e. more than what we paid to lure Wan Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
I think it is time for Solskjaer to step away and forget about signing the young midfielder.
Wan-Bissaka played a full season with the Eagles last term and more importantly, he had an impressive campaign, so, it made sense when we splashed a decent fee to lure him.
However, as far as Longstaff is concerned, he only made his first team debut last season. The youngster did impress in a few starts under Benitez but back in March, he suffered a knee injury and his campaign ended there and then.
Therefore, the value of over £50million is way too much for someone who has so far only started 8 games in the top flight of English football and is coming off from a major injury.
Do you think United should meet Newcastle’s asking price to lure Longstaff?
