Happy Valentine’s Day! Today I’m bringing you an amazing recipe from Lindsay Maitland Hunt’s new cookbook Healthyish. Y’all know I love to cook and this recipe did not disappoint so let’s get to it shall we?

First of all, let’s start with how amazing this cookbook is. I’m a bit of a cookbook hoarder but I rarely end up making recipes from them. This book, however, I can see being used frequently in my house. We’re trying to focus more on the ingredients in the food we eat (with exceptions let’s be real) so I’m happy to have a new resource to get some healthy recipe ideas from. I literally want to make all of the toast combinations.

In the picture below you’ll see see the cast of characters provided to me by OXO for this post. We seem to be jinxed when it comes to keeping knives sharp and this Pro 8″ Chefs knife is literally the best knife I’ve ever used. It cut through the onion I was chopping so quickly I ended up slicing off a piece of my nail polish with it…whoops! And while I’ve had a plethora of wooden spoons before, this Wooden Corner Spoon is perfect from scraping around the edges of a pot so you don’t leave anything behind and is such a heavyweight spoon that you just know it’s going to last. Seriously, the quality of OXO products can’t be beat!

Yum
Loaded Baked Potato and Cauliflower Soup from Healthyish + OXO

Ingredients

  • 4 large slices of extra thick cut bacon
  • 2 onions chopped (about 2 cups)
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into small florets
  • 8 cups chicken stock
  • Sour cream, chopped fresh chives, and grated Cheddar cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a large soup pot over medium-low heat.
  2. Place the bacon slices flat in the pot and cook, turning a couple times, until crispy and most of the fat has drained from the bacon, 8-12 minutes. Using tongs, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, leaving the fat in the pot.
  3. Add the onions, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 1 teaspoon pepper. Cook, stirring often, until the onions are translucent and soft, 10-12 minutes.
  4. Stir in the potatoes, cauliflower and stock, cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a strong simmer and cook, stirring here and there, until the potatoes are very soft, 15-20 minutes.
  5. Puree the soup, using a blender in batches or a handheld immersion blender. Taste and season with additional salt and pepper, if you like.
  6. Slice or tear the cooked bacon into bite-size piece and sprinkle it over bowls of the soup. Serve topped with sour cream, chives and cheese.

We absolutely loved this soup! We try to watch the ingredients that are in our foods (OK, within reason people) and I love that there isn’t any heavy cream in this. You just use the ingredients that are already in the soup to provide the creamy texture you’re used to in your regular Loaded Baked Potato Soup. Tyler couldn’t even believe how good it was. The additional toppings of sour cream, cheese, and chopped bacon are totally necessary too. Don’t skimp! The sour cream adds an extra creaminess to the soup that takes it from great to next level. Just trust me on this.

While I love to cook and feel like I’m pretty good at it (not to toot my own horn or anything but toot toot!), this recipe was so easy and straightforward that it would be super easy even for someone who doesn’t cook that often. And if you don’t have an immersion blender to blend the soup, just throw it in your blender (in batches if needed) and blend away! It’s really that simple.

Now chop, chop! Go make this soup now and get yourself the Healthyish cookbook!

These products were sent to me for review by OXO but all opinions and content are 100% my own.

Happy Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras week everyone! We are recovering from Liam having the flu again this past weekend so I am looking forward to a hopefully uneventful week ahead that involves no sickness! I hope you all have a great, romantic week with your special someone!

  1. Why do they call Terrible Two’s the Terrible Two’s? Because Liam is one and I’m pretty sure he’s throwing temper tantrums like a two year old would. Just sayin’…it’s a little misleading and I could have used a heads up. Sheesh!
  2. Is it bad that I’m already looking forward to decorating for Easter? I seriously have a problem. I just love all the bright, Springy colors which undoubtedly means warm(er) weather. And Cadbury Mini Eggs. I loooove Cadbury Mini Eggs.
  3. Roughly 5 years ago I started making Tyler and I homemade chocolate covered strawberries and I look forward to them every year. They’re so super easy and it’s insanely easy to make them at home verses paying an arm and a leg for them at the store or delivery service. Just melt chocolate and dip! Do you have any Valentine’s Day traditions?
  4. Is it just me or are the Winter Olympics just not as exciting as the Summer Olympics? Don’t get me wrong, we’re still watching them but I just can’t get down on watching curling or cross country skiing. Just me? And I should add that I also teared up watching Chloe Kim do her 3rd run after she already knew she won the Gold Medal and still killed it.  I know, I’m a sap.
  5. The new season of Homeland started back up and it’s being filmed in our hometown of Richmond, VA and it’s so freaking cool! Tyler and I both loved watching the first episode and being able to pick out the different locations where they were shooting. I’m still waiting for a Claire Danes sighting though!
  6. What age is the appropriate age to cut the paci? I feel like we need to start limiting Liam’s paci use to naps and nighttime only as he’s really dependent on it at times. But then he has a meltdown and I give it to him and he stops freaking out so I’m like hmmmm maybe not just yet.
  7. Do you want to feel old? Homeward Bound was released in theaters 25 years ago.
  8. I want to eat this stuff by the bucketful and I’m not even typically a fan of chickpeas. I also have a small obsession with Mediterranean flavors but still. So good.
  9. Polly Pocket’s are making a comeback?! My 8 year old self is really excited about this!
  10. I got Tyler the Dollar Shave Club for Christmas and just finally ordered a razor for myself. Looking forward to seeing how nice it is to use a 6 (!!) blade razor. I may end up needing stitches though because I’m the clumsiest person around but I bet my legs will have never been smoother!

  1. Let’s talk about JT’s Super Bowl performance. It was definitely really good don’t get me wrong. But wouldn’t it have been the best ever if N*Sync had come out for part of it? I mean they are the reason he is where he is. And the Prince thing? I wasn’t into it personally but it was still overall a really good performance. Still not sure why a lot of people were saying it was bad though. Haters gonna hate.
  2. Also, the kid JT took a selfie with…anyone think he actually knew who he was taking a picture with or did he have to Google it? Because he definitely just became the coolest kid at school.
  3. Can we also get a HALLELUJAH for the Eagles beating the Patriots? Now let’s keep them out of the Super Bowl for a good 5 years and then they can get another shot at it. It’s time to let some other people get a chance to win.
  4. In case you didn’t know, this Friday is National Bagel Day! Check out this site to get the scoop on where you can snag a free bagel!
  5. As I’ve shared before, I have Ulcerative Colitis and although I’m currently (thank the Lord!) in remission, that’s not always the case. This article opened my eyes to all of the inflammatory foods I eat on a daily basis. But seriously though, what is life without dairy, gluten and sugar?
  6. With that in mind, this article about Trader Joe’s GMO products is interesting. And to think I thought all of their products were GMO free! Lies.
  7. We’ve been trying to budget our groceries better to cut out unnecessary spending and these tips on lowering your grocery bill are some of my favorites! Especially #8. Grocery delivery and/or ordering groceries ahead is literally the best ever…as long as your picker gets you good produce.
  8. They make Saved By The Bell lipgloss?? My inner Kelly Kapowski needs this in my life.
  9. I would like to eat about 1,000 of these. Just need to figure out where I can find lacinato kale in the store first. Whole Foods? Kroger doesn’t carry it. Help!
  10. I recently bought an EcoTools Blending Sponge and it works like a dream! I actually like the shape of the sponge compared to the Real Techniques sponge I had been using. I felt like it was easier to blend since the sides were flat rather than only having one flat side. While I’ve never tried a real Beauty Blender, I can get great results with the cheap ones so save your money ladies!

Happy Fri-YAY! As y’all well know, I don’t care about football but what I do care about is the food. Isn’t that what most people care about? That and the commercials? The important stuff clearly. Even though we’re having a low key Sunday we are going to have a few of our favorites but if we were throwing a big shindig, I would want all of these in our spread! Let me know what you’re cooking in the comments!

1. Hot Virginia Dip

2. Pull Apart Pizza Bread

3. Buffalo Ranch Crackers

4. Sausage Balls

5. Southern Crockpot Meatballs

  1. Ummm you can buy a Fixer Upper house?! It sounds great…but even that tiny “Shotgun” house is going for $950,000! You’ve gotta be kidding me!
  2. So I ran out of eyelash adhesive recently and finally got the DUO dark tone adhesive. GAME CHANGER! If you use strip lashes and were like me and bought a pack initially that came with the white/clear adhesive, you need to switch ASAP. Goes on so much better and makes it easier to apply my lashes somehow.
  3. These Stranger Things Valentines Day cookies are amazing. If I had the patience, and if Tyler had actually watched more than 1/2 an episode, I would make them for him. If you have more patience than I do though and have a special someone who loves Stranger Things, I bet you’ll get extra brownie points for making these!
  4. We watched some of The Grammy’s the other night and I have to say, I felt like it was just kind of “meh”. And according to every other broadcast thought it was the greatest thing ever so clearly I’m in the minority. Am I completely alone on this?
  5. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a huge fan of NFL football but I do like watching the Super Bowl. Truthfully, I really only watch it for the commercials. But now, they’re releasing them all in advance so what’s the point? I don’t get it.
  6. Speaking of the Super Bowl though, what are you serving or taking to a party? We’re just going to be hanging out at home so I think we’ll just make some small finger foods for ourselves and maybe some Hot Virginia Dip. Leave me your easy finger food/dip recipes that are good for just 2.5 people.
  7. Ok, one more thing about football and I swear I’m done. How am I just now hearing that Chris Long from the Eagles is donating his entire 2017 salary to charity? 6 of which are going to benefit scholarships to a private school in Charlottesville, VA which is less than an hour away from us. People like this help restore my faith in humanity. We need more people like him. And it gives me another reason to root against the Patriots.
  8. PSA: Tomorrow is 1/31 (seriously, where has this month gone?!) and you can get your favorite scoop of ice cream for $1.50 at Baskin Robins. Head on over to get a scoop!
  9. Starbucks has an everything croissant?! Where has this been all my life? Oh and apparently it’s National Croissant Day so, you know, go eat a croissant.
  10. The Flu. Like why is it so extra scary this year? There was a local boy who was 7 years old and died a day after being diagnosed with the flu and strep.  If you remember, Liam tested positive for the Flu and Strep as well so, clearly, I’m over here thanking our lucky stars that he was only sick for a few days. My heart goes out to that family as I can’t even begin to imagine what they’re going through. Oh, and if you have the Flu, keep your germs at home. Please and thank you.

Somehow 4 months have gone by since my last update on our sweetest Liam. Quite a lot has happened over these last 4 months and Liam has grown and developed so much and it amazes us each and every day. The saying “Time is a Thief” really is so incredibly true. I can’t believe our “baby” is now a running, climbing, 3 feet tall toddler. Wasn’t it just yesterday I had a sweet 11 lb. 6.5 oz. baby laid on my chest?

New these past few months:

What a whirlwind! We had Liam’s first Halloween, Liam got tubes in his ears, went to Disney World and then on a Disney Cruise, to come back home for the holidays. As I’ve mention in the past, Liam had a horrible time with ear infections and since he had had quite a few in a 6 month period, we were able to get him in to get tubes 2 days before we left for our cruise. It seemed to be almost immediate after having the procedure that Liam has started talking more and more clearly. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not speaking in full sentences but it has done wonders for his speech! I highly recommend it!

We had an absolute blast on our trip and we learned Liam is a great traveler and is really quite adaptive to his surroundings. He loved all of the characters (minus Rapunzel) and even ran past the line trying to get to them. This kid really has no fear.

Liam thoroughly enjoyed Christmas and was spoiled beyond belief. Seriously, the kid got so many stinking toys. He really got into tearing opening presents and ogling the gift he just received just for the next present to be placed in front of him. The magic of Christmas really does come alive once you have children.

Sleep:

While we had a few setbacks after daylight savings and while we were traveling, it seems we have finally gotten back on track. He typically goes down between 7:00-7:30 each night and we go in his room and turn on his sound machine which almost instantly triggers him to get sleepy. I’ll get him in his jammies and read him a book (sometimes two) and then turn off the lamp in his room and we say prayers and I since him “You are my Sunshine” and that’s it. Sometimes he’ll get right up to go to his crib but other times I’ll say “Ni-night I love you” and he’ll turn to give me a kiss and then I lay him down and he’s out.

If someone had told me when Liam was 6 months and still waking up multiple times a night that there would come a day that I could basically just plop him in his crib and walk away and he’d go to sleep I would have laughed at them. But, by the grace of God, we have finally gotten to a great place.

And I’m sure I just jinxed myself.

Food:

Liam’s favorite thing in the world. This kid can eat! So much so, my mother-in-law got Liam a shirt in Disney that says, “I’m here for the snacks”. He really is a bottomless pit…as long as it’s something he wants to eat. Try to give him a vegetable and he’ll spit it back out at you. But give him a carb and you’re in like Flynn! He also loves fruit but won’t eat hardly any meat. We’ve been successful with deli ham and hot dogs and that pretty much sums up his meat consumption. On occasion he’ll have a few bites of ground taco meat or something off one of our plates but he just seems to enjoy pretty much anything else. Can’t say I blame him though. Who doesn’t love carbs?

Recent Favorites:
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Yogurt
  • Raspberries
  • Bananas
  • Fruit leather
  • Hot dogs
  • Egg and cheese sandwiches on an English muffin
Likes:
  • His toy kitchen, slide and train table
  • Climbing on anything and everything
  • His pacifier
Dislikes:
  • Having his nose, hands and/or face wiped
  • Sitting still
  • Being told “no”
  • Not getting what he wants when he wants it

  1. It’s been in the 60’s the past few days and it has been absolutely amazing! After having negative temperatures the past few weeks, I am so happy to see it warm up…even if it is only temporary. I even wore my Jack Rogers today and yesterday!
  2. Let me preface this by saying I really don’t care about NFL football buuuut does anyone else feel like the Patriots game was rigged? #deflategate2018 I mean come on, I’m not saying good teams don’t deserve to go to the Super Bowl but seriously! Can’t someone else get a chance to go? And, after working in a sports bar for 7 years, I quickly learned that I really didn’t care for certain fans/teams and the Eagles are one of them. I almost think I’ll be rooting for them though just so Tom Brady doesn’t get yet another Super Bowl win. Anyone else with me?
  3. Amazon is now offering an Oreo Cookie Monthly subscription box?! In each delivery they send you two Oreo flavors and a one of a kind gift in each box. Pretty sure every Oreo lover out there needs this in their life.
  4. Friday night Tyler and I got a chance to go out for our first date night since our cruise. That’s well over a month if you don’t include New Years since we went out with a group but we were way overdue of some 1-on-1 time. We tried out the new Tazza Kitchen location in Scott’s Addition and it was seriously so good! We’ve been to their Short Pump location a number of times but this environment was on point. And their Kale with chiles (get it topped with brisket!) is absolutely amazing. So. dang. good. If you’re local, definitely go check it out!
  5. So we got a new camera for Liam’s playroom but our monitor was starting to die on us so we ended up using the camera for his nursery instead. While it was a little tricky to set up, it is so totally worth it! Tyler and I can both view the camera from our phones and I can also ask Alexa to show us the nursery on our Echo Spot. Now we’re going to get another camera for the playroom and one for outside the front door to use for added security. We’re kind of in love.
  6. Liam had his first ice cream cone this weekend and absolutely loved it! However, he did not enjoy my assistance with the inevitable drips and the fact he couldn’t figure out the cone. And his shirt? He looked like a Dalmatian he had so many drips all over him. But he loved it so much I can’t wait for him to have another one just to see that look on his face. I’ll just strip him down first.
  7. Have you heard that The Cheesecake Factory’s “brown bread” will now be available for purchase in stores? That’s almost as good as if they were to sell the delicious Outback bread in stores. Or more importantly, the Texas Roadhouse rolls because those things are seriously to die for.
  8. I’ve told y’all before how I converted to ordering our groceries online and picking them up usually the next day. Well, this past weekend I had my first bad experience with Walmart Grocery Pickup. Clicklist had already let me down twice so we broke up with them and tried out Walmart and it was wonderful! Until now. They basically left out an entire bag or two of my order, picked the grossest pack of raspberries they could find and gave me fat-free milk instead of whole milk. I ended up just throwing the raspberries out because they were so gross and I got a refund email shortly after I called the store to let them know items were missing from my order but still. Come on y’all! I guess I’ll be back in the grocery store soon. Womp womp.
  9. Related to the above, I’ve wanted to try Instacart but despite having many grocery stores in our area, they only offer groceries from one store. Super annoying. Anyone else have this struggle? What about Shipt? I’m getting super lazy here I know. If I actually go in the store though I end up buying more than I would if I did grocery pick-up. And double that if I’m hungry or have a screaming child with me.
  10. Can we just talk about how crazy this flu has been? Liam and Tyler both had it and it was terrible for both of them. And the fact that it has killed 30 innocent children’s lives absolutely breaks my heart and makes me so thankful both of my boys are both alright.

  1. We are expecting more snow and ice this week and I’m just not interested. Like at all. Unless it gets me out of work. That’s the only thing that makes all of the mess it makes worth it. Is it Spring yet?
  2. Thankfully we are *knock on wood* out of the woods with Germapalooza 2017. But while we were in the thick of it, I made a big ole pot of homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and grilled cheeses for the boys. Literally I made like 6 grilled cheese sandwiches in like 24 hours which made me want to share a little tip that I acquired from Tyler to make the best grilled cheese ever. Are you ready for it? Mayonnaise! Seriously, instead of putting butter on the bread to toast the outside of the bread, slather on some mayo on the and prepare for your minds to be blown. And of course, if you try it, report back on how amazing it is!
  3. If you made food resolutions for 2018, or even if you haven’t yet but want to, these are some great ideas. If you don’t meet them all 100% of the time, give yourself some grace. Sometimes pizza happens and that’s ok. Start fresh again tomorrow.
  4. So I mentioned in my Gift Guide for Her for Christmas that I wanted these shoes. My family took my (not so subtle hints) and got them for me and then they ended up being super narrow! I do not have narrow feet so this was a major bummer for me so I just ordered these and I’m hoping they’re not quite as narrow. I’m a loyal Nike wearer and have never run into this problem so fingers crossed they fit like a glove!
  5. After taking down Christmas our house felt so bare. Like it was lacking the cheer and joy Christmas brings. So naturally I went to Hobby Lobby and picked out a magnolia garland for our mantle and I’m so glad I did! It fits our style so well plus it makes me feel like it’s (almost) springtime! Just my personal taste though, I doubled up with 2 garlands and layered them for added fullness. And they were half off so it’s basically BOGO. And if you order online you can get 2% cash back. You’re welcome.
  6. After being cooped up in the house all weekend, we’re in desperate need of something fun to do as a family this weekend that doesn’t involve being in our house. Any ideas? I was debating Romp ‘n Roll but that’s really only fun for Liam…
  7. I put something out on Instagram a week or so ago but I want to cut cable because it’s way too freaking expensive. We’re TV people though and keep up with way more shows than I’d like to admit. Our biggest hangups are: A) being able to livestream sports and B) being able to DVR. We literally live by our DVR so that is a big one for us. It appears that Sling is our best option since we can pick the channels we want and pay an extra $5 for DVR but I’m so nervous we’ll lose channels we love or the access we have through cable. Help me!!
  8. Complete millennial thing here but I didn’t know any of these. I used to watch Freaky Friday on repeat (ummm can you say Chad Michael Murray?) and can’t picture Lindsay Lohan being goth at all. And now I want to binge watch all of these movies.
  9. For whatever reason, we started using ground chicken for our tacos a while back and stuck with it. These Cilantro Lime Chicken Meatball Bowls sound amazing (and fairly light!) for a way to mix up the usual tacos. Adding these to our rotation next week!
  10. Speaking of which, do y’all eat the same meals at least once a week? We almost always have tacos on the menu because it’s such a quick and easy weeknight meal. What are your go to meals?

Happy Tuesday Friends! Welcome to the first Let’s Talk Tuesday of 2018! We have had a chilly, no frigid past few days. It has finally started warming up and actually felt like Spring when it got up to all of 43 degrees yesterday. After being below zero over the weekend, I almost wanted to break out my flip-flops! Thankfully it seems the warmer temperatures are here to stay…at least for now anyway and I’ll take it! I’m ready for springtime temps to be here ASAP!

Please note the crazy Alfalfa hair. Someone desperately needs a haircut.
  1. If you remember from my last Lets’ Talk Tuesday or saw my Instagram Stories today, we were planning to repaint what had been “Dixie’s room” to make it a pseudo playroom for Liam until he eventually moves in there for good. Well, we had it painted today and it looks ahhh-mazing! We used Revere Pewter and covered up the nasty, purple wall the previous owners left and it makes the room feel so much more inviting! And let me just tell you, I painted almost every room in my old house and it is SO worth the money to pay someone to paint for you and just come home from work and it’s done. Now I can’t wait to start decorating!
  2. I know I’m a week late but do you make New Year’s resolutions? I typically don’t because, well, I usually stop doing them. Anyone else struggle with keeping up with resolutions? Or do I just have no will power?
  3. Over the weekend, while it was a whopping 5 degrees outside, I went to Walmart to go grocery shopping and had my first toddler meltdown that made me completely mortified. Seriously. Somehow Liam’s paci went missing and he was kicking and screaming in the cart all over grapes I decide not to buy. So what did I do? give him 2 strawberries for him to gnaw on just to realize I left the diaper bag in the car and just watched the strawberry juice drip down his face. Fortunately, we found someone handing out samples and I stole a few napkins to get him cleaned up but whew! I was majorly sweating by the end of it. More of a reason to order your groceries online!
  4. And right after the aforementioned tantrum, I knew Liam was hungry and I had a car full of groceries to unload so I went through the Chick-fil-a drive-thru to get him lunch and got myself an order of fries. Well, we made it through the drive-thru just to realize my fries weren’t in the bag! So I parked, realized I was next to a ledge and could hardly open Liam’s door to get him out of his car seat, went into the store with our bag and not ONE person apologized or said my pleasure. NOT ONE! I have to say, that was my worst Chick-fil-a experience ever. I’ll still go back but come on! They’re known for their courteousness.
  5. I feel like I’m starting to get overrun with makeup and need some additional storage. I have an acrylic organizer now that I found at Marshall’s a few years ago but it’s just not cutting it for everything I have now (first world problems). Leave your suggestions below!
  6. So we have an Amazon Echo and I just got an Echo Spot for our room. Tell me, are the lightbulbs worth it? I struggle spending that much for lightbulbs. And then I fear I’m going to like the convenience and want them everywhere.
  7. Oh and I got this camera to go with the Spot because it’s compatible with the Spot and has an app so we can use it was a wireless baby monitor as well. Just need to figure out how to work them though…
  8. Right before our cruise I tried out the SNS dip nails. Why had I never tried this?! It’s basically the same as gel polish in the length of time it lasts but I always struggled with the gel polish peeling up and it doesn’t happen with the dip polish! If you haven’t tried it, you must! I promise you’ll like it.
  9. Did you watch the National Championship last night? I could really careless about football but, naturally, Tyler wanted to watch it. Truthfully, I didn’t make it through the whole thing but I saw this morning that Alabama won. Tyler was rooting for Georgia so he was a little bummed but for me, it’s just another day?
  10. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and now that we took Christmas down I’m ready to decorate again. Is it too soon? Do I have to wait til February? I’m itching to decorate now…

Please note that this post is in partnership with Neutrogena. I received complimentary products in exchange for my honest review.

Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe we are already in 2018. It seriously doesn’t seem possible to be in a new year already. I wanted to talk to you about my new favorite makeup. Let me start by saying that I have had trouble with my skin for years and am very particular about what makeup and skincare products I use so I don’t cause a breakout by switching things up. My skin is pretty oily and has gone through the wringer from crazy, cystic teenage acne to adult acne (seriously though, why?!) to the crazy hormonal fluctuations through pregnancy and postpartum and back again.

I mentioned in my drugstore beauty favorites post how I resisted liquid foundation for years. I always felt like I couldn’t find the right shade or it looked super caked on and just not natural. Then I went to mineral makeup and couldn’t get the amount of coverage I was looking for for my aforementioned acne prone skin. I finally revisited liquid foundation (applied with a makeup blending sponge – game changer!) and was pleased with the new formulations. However, I found myself veering away from it again until I tried the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation. Seriously, this stuff is amazing. I prep my face with the Healthy Skin Primer before applying foundation and finish my face with a translucent setting powder and I don’t find that I look like there’s an oil slick on my face like I do with most other liquid foundations. And best of all, after using it for a week, I had zero skin irritation or breakouts! Score!

In this look, I also used the Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector under my eyes and even on my lids in place of eye shadow primer which I think is pointless personally. If anyone remembers those lip glosses you used to get where you twisted the bottom of the container and it had a super soft brush to apply it, that’s exactly how this is! It’s so soft and I look forward to applying it because I love the brush so much. And just like my foundation, I blending the concealer with my makeup blending sponge.

For my contour, I used the Healthy Skin Blends bronzer and just swirled my brush around in a circular motion to get all of the shades in one and tapped it out as to not apply it too heavily. I finished it off with the Healthy Skin Blush to brighten up my cheeks.

To finish off my look, I used the Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow set for my eyes. I love that its pretty fool-proof and they tell you exactly where to apply each color to achieve the desired look you’re going for. The darkest shade was intended to be used as a liner but I personally like a thick, dark liner and just couldn’t get down with it so I did apply my own liquid liner but I did love the overall pigmentation of the shades.

Also, in case you’re wondering, I know I’m telling you all of this in the reverse order of how most makeup artists would tell you to do your makeup. However, I’m a creature of habit and have my doing my makeup in this order forever and don’t plan to change.

I always top off my look with mascara and absolutely loved the Healthy Volume Mascara. I did apply a few coats to achieve the desired thickness I was going for but look at that length! Can’t beat that ladies!

All of the colors and products I used are from Eiza’s Metallic Bronze Eye look from Neutrogena’s Celebrity-inspired Holiday looks.
