18/7/09 491k Eventually set off from home, picked up fuel in Wallan, through Bendigo to Skinner’s flat for lunch, had a look at L Tyrell S but too windy. Late in the day stopped at Hattah NP on Konardin Tk, nice little campfire, dinner and bed at 19.30 19/7 440k Up after dawn, very quiet, …

2/7/08 730k Up 5.30, with Bev’s help packed car and off by 6.30, thankfully noticed that I’d left my maps behind just up the road, so returned to get them, then through Bendigo, Mildura stopping at Lake Hawthorn then double dam Silver City Hwy and to Broken Hill to camp at The Springs Tk Stephen’s …

28/6/02 Left Melbourne at 19.30 and drove to Dimboola and camped on the river near the weir at 23.30 29/6 841k Up 7.30 and drove to Adelaide and arrived at about 12.00 and rang up Smathi. We met at Cobbler Ck and went for a walk, found a quite tame Nankeen Kestrel. Left at 14.00 …

7/2/2019 111km The day starts at 6am when we don our birdwatching gear and walk the few hundred metres to where a pratincole is lurking. There is speculation that it is a Collared Pratincole, and indeed it does have several attributes of that species, but the difficulty of identifying it from the Oriental Pratincole means …
