MY BEST 5 TIPS FOR A BRIGHTER SMILE
I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for ways to look and feel as good as possible for my age. I spend quite a bit of time & money on products that help me look youthful, like anti-aging skincare and makeup. I eat healthy and exercise (occasionally ), all in the name of looking and feeling my best. However, one category that is often overlooked is your teeth and your smile, and they are just as important in your daily regimen as your makeup and skincare routine. Today I am sharing my best 5 tips for a healthy and bright smile.
DRINK MORE WATER
Drinking enough water keeps your skin and mouth hydrated. I can really see a difference in the overall appearance of my skin, if I am dehydrated. The same goes for my lips. They tend to look chapped and dry when I don’t drink enough water. Further, drinking water washes away left over food in your mouth and also helps combat dry mouth, a condition where the mouth does not produce enough saliva, which plays a major role in washing away bacteria that can cause cavities. It is also is better for your teeth than drinking sugary drinks, such as juice or soda, which can also contribute to cavities.
EXFOLIATE YOUR LIPS
Nothing ages you faster than dry cracked lips. Keep them in tip top shape by exfoliating your lips gently with a gentle lip scrub to get rid of any flakes and dead skin. Follow up with a moisturizing lip serum, or an overnight lip mask, to keep them soft and supple
This seems like a no brainer, but good oral health is key in a youthful and confident looking smile. Yet, we don’t usually think of it as part of an anti-aging regimen. But it makes perfect sense. I recently upgraded to the Waterpik® Sonic-Fusion® flossing toothbrush, available at Target, and I am loving it.
The Waterpik® Sonic-Fusion® flossing toothbrush is up to 2X as effective as regular brushing & flossing. Who wouldn’t want that?? I use mine in the morning and at night and sometimes use the flosser during the day after meals or a snack. I was shocked to see all the stuff that came out of my mouth after using it.
If I am being perfectly honest, I haven’t always been the best about flossing after brushing my teeth, but this Sonic-Fusion flossing toothbrush has made it so convenient. It is one device that does both and you can easily switch over from brushing to flossing with the touch of a button. I typically brush my teeth and then switch over to the flossing mode, but you can do both at the same time. Now I have no more excuses.
I also love that it fits right in on my countertop and doesn’t take up a ton of room. It is a popular gadget around here. My husband and son both use it (they have their own toothbrush heads) and my son gets a kick out of the water flossing part. We all noticed that our mouth felt much cleaner after using it.
DON’T FORGET SUNSCREEN
The sun is the #1 aging factor when it comes to skin and lips. Even if you are good about applying sunscreen, our lips and our ears are our most neglected body parts, when it comes to sunscreen application. Hyperpigmentation from sun damage is common right around the lip area and can make us look older, fast. Choose a lip balm with at least an SPF30 to protect your lips and keep those sunspots at bay.
APPLY A SHEER PLUMPING GLOSS
Dark and heavily pigmented lipsticks can create a very harsh look and age us quickly. Except for the occasional bright lip, I generally steer clear of heavily pigmented lip products in favor of a sheer, pink, plumping gloss. It makes lips look fuller and your smile more youthful. Also, choose a pink that has blue undertones, as it will help make your teeth look whiter.
I hope you enjoyed my best 5 tips for a brighter smile. Sonic Fusion is The World’s First Flossing Toothbrush and it is all you need is one device for a complete clean. Wedding season is upon us and with it comes the search for the perfect dress. Today I am sharing some pretty dresses for summer weddings that can be worn again and again and are very affordable. I am not a big believer in spending lots of money on a special occasion dress that ends up hanging in my closet. I always try to think of the cost-per-wear formula when it comes to clothes shopping, which is the price of the garment, divided by the times you wear it. Obviously, you want the number to be as low as possible for your purchase to make sense. My key piece of advice for dressy occasions is to either go for simple and dress it up with makeup and accessories, or go for a statement dress and keep the rest simple. If you choose a statement dress, make sure you have at least a few occasions to wear it to. Choose dresses that are casual enough that they can be dressed down. Here are my top picks for pretty summer dresses for summer weddings:
PRETTY DRESSES FOR SUMMER WEDDINGS
J.CREW FLORAL RATTI DRESS | This dress is a statement maker all on its own. Its bold and beautiful print is all you need to feel completely dressed. The loose fit is comfy and lets you eat all the food. Keep your hair and makeup simple and pair with nude heel and dainty gold jewelry. Done. It is absolutely wedding appropriate, but I can see this at a beach party with flip flops and with a denim jacket and sneakers for a casual outing. Its versatility is key.
WRAP DRESS | When in doubt, go for a wrap dress. It flatters every body type and this solid color can be dressed up with a statement necklace or some other bold jewelry. This particular dress comes in a bunch of colors and patterns to suit every taste.
ONE SHOULDER MAXI DRESS | If you are not into florals or pastels, this one is for you. I love the rick rack piping and the tie front to define your waist. A little something different that can be worn for many occasions.
LACE FITTED DRESS | This is a super budget friendly option on Amazon and the thousands of good reviews seem to back this one up. A good cocktails dress that doesn’t look cheap for under $40.00? It seems to be true here. If you need a last minute option, this can be yours in a couple of days. Also, it comes in lots of colors.
TIERED MAXI DRESS IN LINEN | This is another super versatile option and is perfect for a summer wedding. I love the simplicity, but the ruffle makes it so festive and fun.I just wanna get on the dance floor in this number. A pair of big statement earrings and a shawl will complete this look.
GREEN EYELET DRESS| Can you really ever go wrong with eyelet? I feel like it is a timeless classic and perfect for a wedding. I love this option for an afternoon wedding and the v neck is just the right amount of modest. It also comes in a very pretty pink color as well as white, which, if you are a bride, is perfect for your rehearsal.
STRIPED LINEN JUMPSUIT | This is a great alternative to a dress and feels so “New England” to me. I purchased this last year and have worn it many times, to brunch, girl’s night out and on date night. It is cute and comfy and is fun to pair with a pop of color, whether it is in your shoes, purse or even your lipstick. You can see it in action in this post.
TIERED RUFFLE DRESS | Would you believe me if I told you this dress was under $25.00? Another great Amazon find, this dress comes in a ton of colors and is so pretty. The lavender color really spoke to me. Perfect for a beach wedding this dress will keep you cool and comfy and looking stunning.
BLUE RUFFLE DRESS | Amazon has really been knocking it out of the park with dresses lately and this one is no exception. Under $40.00 and so pretty. It comes in white, blue and black, but I think the blue is the most perfect one for a summer wedding.
PINK LACE DRESS | Another pretty lace option, this also comes in a ton of colors and is under $100. This is appropriate for a dressier or black tie wedding an is so elegant. It is perfection with nude heels and has hundreds of positive reviews.
BLUE FLORAL DRESS | Last, but not least, this floral dress is so pretty for a garden wedding and the colors are so fresh and pretty. It is a faux wrap, high low style, which makes it flattering for almost any body type. The material is low wrinkle, which makes it perfect for travel and you can throw it in the wash. Perfect, if you are attending a wedding with your little ones.
THE PERFECT NUDE HEEL | I have said this before, but will say it again. For a summer fancy occasion, this is the ONLY pair of heels you need in your closet. They elongate your legs, go with every summer dress and jumpsuit and show of your pedicure perfectly. Total shoe perfection.
Personally, I love attending weddings where I don’t have to work and at my age, they have been few and far between lately. That is another reason, I like to save on special occasion dresses. If you are going to a wedding this season, I hope you found this helpful.
Summer is here – Yay! Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little tan? It makes us look skinnier and hides a multitude of sins such as cellulite, spider veins and stretch marks. However, the ONLY safe way to get a tan is with self tanner, so today I am sharing the best self tanners & how to apply them.
(Remember to always apply your sunscreen when heading outside. Here is a list of my favorites. I talk more about The top 5 Myths of Sunscreen and my product recommendations for that here.)
A faux tan is your best friend this time of year and in this post I am sharing the best self tanners & how to apply them correctly. My favorite tips, techniques and products will have you looking like a golden goddess in no time.
THE BEST SELF TANNERS AND HOW TO APPLY THEMEXFOLIATE
This first step is crucial for a smooth and even looking tan. I wrote a whole blog post about that here. One of my current favorite way to exfoliate is by dry brushing with this brush. (It also comes in handy when applying self tanner. Just slip the mitt over the brush to apply it to your back.) Dry brushing has many benefits. It stimulates the body’s circulation and lymphatic systems and instantly gives you smoother skin. Begin at the ankles and brush upward using light but firm strokes. You always want to brush toward the heart because that is the way the lymph flows naturally. After you finish your legs, brush your stomach, arms, and shoulders. Then head off into the shower. If dry brushing isn’t your thing and you prefer a good body scrub, this one is excellent before applying self tanner.
After thorough exfoliation, apply moisturizer to your feet, elbows and knees. this is very important, because our skin is drier in these areas and will soak up lotions faster. Lotioning these parts beforehand will ensure even looking color and a realistic looking tan.
DO NOT SHAVE YOUR LEGS
You may be tempted to shave your legs but just don’t do it. It will leave you covered with those little brown dots all over your legs – not a pleasant view, if you ask me.
PUT A MITT ON IT
This is probably one of the my biggest tips for even application and distribution of product. This mitt is fantastic, reasonably priced and will ensure an even application. It will also keep your hands clean, so no dreaded Oompa Loompa hands after applying. PRO TIP: Slip the mitt over the the dry brushing brush and attach the handle to reach your back.
Apply self tanner and massage into the skin in a circular motion – even if you are using a spray, you still need to blend it in. BLEND, BLEND, BLEND. Go easy on elbows and knees and make sure you blend around your ankles. Let dry about 10 minutes before getting dressed. You can do this a couple of days in a row to achieve your perfect color. Once achieved, this is a fantastic lotion to apply the next day to make it even more glowy looking. It is a BB cream for the body that contains a little sheen, self tanner and makeup to even out your skin tone. It also smells delicious. This is a good greener alternative.
I always find it funny when you guys ask me for hair tutorials, because I feel like half the time, I don’t know what I am doing and my hair is a hot mess. I feel like I get my hair curled the way I like it maybe 50% of the time. But, you guys asked for it so here it is, my messy beach waves tutorial. I filmed a little video as well, so hopefully you will find that helpful.
MESSY BEACH WAVES TUTORIAL
This hair style works best for me with dirty hair. When my hair is clean, it is very soft and fluffy and will not hold a curl. I usually just blow dry my hair after washing it and then curl it 2-3 days in, after it has a little grip from the dry shampoo. If you try this look on fresh, clean hair, I do recommend using a bit of dry shampoo and a texturizing spray beforehand. Otherwise, the curl will not last.
STRAIGHTEN THE ENDS WITH A FLATIRON
I like the look of straight ends and my hair tends to curl under. Before curling my hair, I always run a straightening iron through it, to make sure it is smooth, and straight.
DIVIDE HAIR INTO SECTION
Although curling the bottom part of my hair is not crucial, I like to give it a little bend. The duck clips help keep my hair sectioned. I like to to section my hair into three sections, bottom, middle and top. This makes curling each section easier.
CURL SMALL SECTIONS AT A TIME
I find that this technique works best if I curl smaller 1 inch sections of my hair at a time. it gives me just the right amount of bend I am looking for. I leave the ends out and release the curling iron staight down. You can see this in the video.
LET CURLS COOL BEFORE RAKING THROUGH
The most important part is to make sure the curls have completely cooled before I rake through them with my hands. I add a little texture spray. This one is my favorite, and I am good to go. I find that this style looks best a couple of hours later, once it has settled in.
Below is the video tutorial I filmed for you. Please excuse the horrendous lighting situation at the end, I am really still figuring the technical parts out as I go along. I hope you will find it helpful.
Summer is here! With it, comes a more laid back and casual vibe that I love. This translates into everything I do during the hot summer months, including my makeup. Today, I am sharing my easy summer makeup routine with you. Wearing makeup in the hot weather and humidity can be tricky. They key is to focus on a few simple products and finish with a good setting spray. You can find my favorite one in this post. It takes less than 3 minutes and you can see how I do it in my Instastories under Summer Beauty. I throw on a dress, pull my hair into a pony or braid, and I am ready for the day.
MY EASY SUMMER MAKEUP ROUTINE
I don’t get into elaborate makeup during the hot summer months. The heat and humidity we get in Maryland would make it melt right off anyway. I do still like to look and feel but together, and these products are perfect for that.
I have talked about this cc cream endlessly on here. I use it year round, but it is especially perfect during the summer months. It contains SPF 50 and tons of skin loving ingredients. It is the perfect makeup to wear in the sun. I put a pump or two of this all over my face to even out my skin tone and give it a nice glow.
I throw some of this under my eyes, and on any trouble spots, and dab it in with my fingers. Done! PRO TIP: use your ring finger to tab product under the eye area and on blemishes. You should never rub concealer in, it defeats the purpose.
In the past, I have had trouble finding a brow pencil that matched the color of my brows. They were always too dark or too warm, and would look fake and unnatural. I love this pencil to fill in and shape my eyebrows. The skinny pencil mimics brow hairs and the taupe is the perfect color for me.
This cream shadow is perfection and so easy to use. If you buy only one shadow, this should be it. I am not a big and complicated eyeshadow wearer. I usually just swipe on one shade and call it a day. This can be applied to your eyelid with your fingers and it blends like a dream. You can also use it to line under your eyes with it. It stays put all day, which is a bonus during the hot and sticky weather.
If you love the look of long and lushes eyelashes, this mascara is for you. Like said earlier, I am not a big shadow person and prefer to focus on liner and mascara to really open up my eyes. Also, I am a cheapskate when it comes to mascara, but I stocked up on this during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale. It is definitely a favorite.
I apply a bit of this all over my face to get a golden glow. It is fantastic, but a tiny bit goes a really long way. This can also be mixed in with your foundation, or moisturizer to give you an all over glow and is great for even the pales of skin.
This Ambient Lighting Blush is so pretty and perfect for summer. It gives a radiant, three dimensional glow to your skin with a touch of color. My favorite shade is the Radiant finish in Dim Infusion or Ethereal Glow.
A new favorite in my lip gloss arsenal, this is literally the perfect summer pink. It is different than any other pink glosses that I own. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just is. Also, this one Is super hydrating and lasts a while on the lips, which is unusual for a gloss.

I hope yo enjoyed this post. Be sure to check out my Insta stories for a tutorial on how to achieve this look. Do you have any go-to summer products that your love? Let me know in the comments.
Hi, my name is Kirsten and I enjoy long, romantic walks down the Target aisle….Seriously though, who doesn’t love a Target shopping trip?! They are killing it right now with everything from fashion to beauty, and can we talk about their home goods right now?? I am obsessed. Since I am currently giving away a $250.00 Gift Card to Target on my Instagram, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite Target finds and give you some inspiration on how to spend that money, just in case you win.
EGG CHAIR | I am obsessed with this egg chair and am desperately trying to find someplace in my home to put it. I love everything about it and am thinking it may work indoors as well, no?
PIXI LIPGLOSS | This is one of my favorite glosses ever. The “sheer rose” shade is like your own lip color, but better, and the cooling mint flavor and light tingling sensation leaves your lips looking and feeling a wee bit plumper.
LILAC FRINGE EARRINGS | The color lilac is a current favorite of mine and I love how these fringe earrings dress up a simple outfit and keep me on-trend without spending too much money.
GLOW TONIC | Loved by many, and for good reason. This iconic tonic has a cult like following. It gently exfoliates and nourishes your skin and gets you glowing in no time. It is a staple in my beauty routine. PRO TIP: Instead of applying it with a cotton ball, use your finger tips to apply all over your face.
STRIPED MAXI DRESS | I have not taken this dress off, since I got it. It is everything I love in a dress and epitomizes summer. The thicker, cloth like material makes it not too sheer. It also has adjustable straps. Perfect for memorial day and I personally will be living in it all summer long.
SONIA KASHUK MAKEUP BRUSHES | Good quality makeup brushes can be very expensive. I always say, buy the best you can afford. However, these brushes are a great bang for your buck and the quality for the money is excellent. I recommend these if you are just starting out and then you can slowly build your brush collection over time.
BOW ESPADRILLE SLIDES | I have gotten so much use out of my bow slides already. They are surprisingly versatile and go with everything from shorts, to denim and cute summer dresses.
OPI POLISH IN STRAWBERRY MARGARITA | Cajun Shrimp and Strawberry Margarita are my 2 staple summer nail polish colors. This one is a bright, fresh pink that is literally the perfect summer pink. Cajun Shrimp is the perfect coral shade.
BOOTS BOTANICS OIL | This was my first facial oil love and I still adore it just as much. It is a great value for an organic product and works wonders on dry skin in the winter time, or anytime your skin needs an extra boost.
REVLON ONE STEP HAIR DRYER | I have talked about this thing endlessly on here and on Instagram. I love it and it is the only thing that gets me close to a professional looking blow out at home. it is magical. I share my tutorial on how to achieve the perfect blow out in this post.
CHAMBRAY SHIRT | If you don’t already have one of these wardrobe staples in your closet, this one is fabulous. It is the perfect shade of blue and great quality for the price.
BEADED CIRCLE BAG | Round bags are so on-trend right now and a perfect way to update your wardrobe. They can get a bit pricey, but this one just looks expensive. I love the adorable beading and the fact that it is a crossbody bag, which makes it equally cute and practical.
CERAMIC APPLIQUE LAMP | Calling all Serena & Lily lovers. I would call this lamp a dead ringer for something you would easily find on their website. The applique details are lovely, and for the price there will be enough left over for some other goodies as well.
I hope you guys had fun perusing the aisles with me and I hope you found something new to love. Be sure to enter my Target Gift Card Giveaway here.
Today, I am sharing white jeans styled 6 ways. (Well, 9 ways really. I just couldn’t stop. #obsessed) I wear them constantly, all year long. The whole “no white after labor day” thing is a fallacy. White denim is cool & crisp looking in the summer, but equally stunning mixed with soft sweaters and plaid shirts in the winter. Since this is a staple item, I don’t mind spending a bit more money on a pair of fabulous white jeans. I have listed my 3 favorites below. Many people are afraid of white denim because of the dirt factor, but honestly, I wear them everywhere, even to soccer games. I just throw them in the wash with a bit of bleach and they come out as good as new.
THE BEST WHITE JEANS
LIVERPOOL JEANS ANKLE SKINNY | If you can afford to spend a bit more on a pair of jeans, I really encourage you to get these. They are honestly the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned and they look fabulous on. These jeans stay put without sagging and bagging as the day goes on and the fabric actually provides support, kind of like support hose. This pair is the quintessential mom jean.
J.CREW FACTORY HIGH RISE SKINNY | A great middle of the road option, I love these white jeans for their great and super flattering fit. With just the right amount of stretch, they are super comfy and their high rise hides the muffing top.
OLD NAVY ROCKSTAR SCULPT | These jeans are my favorite budget friendly option. The fabric is nice and thick and they also suck you in and have a bit of stretch. They are not quite as comfy as the Liverpool jeans and do tend to get a bit baggy as the day goes on. I love that their pockets are lined with a nude liner, making them invisible. For $40.00, they are fab.
WHITE JEANS | 6 WAYS
Today I want to share 6 different ways to wear white jeans, from super casual, to date night and in between. I hope you enjoy this styling session and get some ideas to shop your closet and pair something you already own with your pair of jeans.
This is a new color combo for me and I am loving it. The cream and white looks so springy, yet elegant and the necklace provides the perfect pop of color for a neutral backdrop. The animal print sandals are super cute and comfy and complete this look.
Casual does not have to mean sloppy and this outfit is ultra casual, yet still looks put together. This hat is a staple for me during the summer months. This tank is my favorite and super inexpensive. I get them in every color and size up a size to be able to tie them in a knot.
This shirt is so pretty and airy. perfect for hot summer days and I l adore the color it comes in a few others, such as black and yellow. These platform espadrilles are cute and comfy and go with absolutely everything from jeans, to shorts to dresses.
I am denim obsessed and wear them everywhere, even on date night. Black & white together is so sexy and classic and I love the flowing top with the skinny bottoms. I own these shoes in black and nude and honestly, they are the only heels I need. They work with casual denim and fancy dresses alike and are always appropriate.
This is what I throw on, when I am not sure what to wear. This outfit is perfect for running errands or casual Saturday mornings spent at the soccer field or farmer’s market. You can wear the belt for an extra touch, or leave the top untucked for a more casual look. I bought these shoes on a whim and have worn them countless times. They have memory foam in them and are super comfy.
I am not usually a lover of the color green, but this top is my second green item I purchased this spring, so maybe it is growing on me. (You can see my other green item in this post.) Although, this top comes in tons of other colors as well. Another cute option for date night, or a fun girl’s night out. The earrings were a super affordable find on Amazon.
With a little out of the box thinking, the pieces in your closet can take you farther than you think. This top is actually a dress. I love wearing it on hot summer days, but also thought it looked cute over my white jeans with a belt. However, it also looks adorable without the belt. ( I shared that look in my Instagram stories).
As you may know, I am a skincare junkie. I will try it all, and today, I am sharing the best face masks for sensitive, mature skin. I have included all of my favorites, from deep cleansing, to exfoliating, to hydrating. Masking is a great way to hit the reset button for your face and can really work wonders if you choose the right mask. I haven’t had a professional facial in years, because I feel like I can achieve the same results at home with these masks. I generally only use an exfoliating mask once a week, but I am constantly applying soothing and hydrating masks to help de-stress my sensitive and dry skin. The warmer months call for some extra TLC for your skin and now is a great time to incorporate a mask into your regimen, if you haven’t already. You will see a big difference.
You may have heard of this term and found it a bit confusing. Allow me to explain. Basically, multi masking is the best way to achieve a customized facial experience at home. Basically, you are applying different masks to different areas of the face to get a customized experience. For example, If you get clogged pores on your nose, apply a charcoal or clay mask in that area. Dry cheeks? Use a hydrating cream in that particular patch. Have major under-eye bags after a night out? Throw on an eye-specific sheet mask. Creating your own concoction makes it easy to treat combination skin or spot-specific flare ups. Plus, now you have a valid excuse to keep three or more masks in your skin care rotation.
Another way to multi mask is to use different masks in succession. I love to follow up an exfoliating mask with an intense hydrating mask to give my skin an extra boost. After the exfoliating mask has removed the dead layer of skin, the hydrating mask is much more effective.
Masking is not one size fits all. In order for you to benefit from masking, it is crucial that you use a mask specific to your skincare concerns and skin type. If your friend swears by a certain mask, that does not mean it will work miracles for you as well.
I have included a bit of everything in this post. I have dry, mature and sensitive skin, so I prefer gentle exfoliating and hydrating masks. That being said, in the summer, when my pores get clogged from heat, sweat and sunscreen, I love a good deep cleansing mask in those areas to help de-gunk my skin, but I would not apply them to my sensitive and rosacea prone cheeks and chin. Makes sense? Below is a round up of my tried and true favorite masks.
FRESH ROSE FACE MASK | This mask is such a treat for your skin. It contains actual rose petals and gently soothes & tones for a plumping effect. It is one of my all-time favorites.
SKYN ICELAND ARCTIC HYDRATION MASK | The most hydrating mask of the bunch. This will leave your skin as hydrated and plump as a babies butt and the effects last for a few days. The only downfall is that it is quite messy. You have to lie down for it, or it will slide straight off your face. The results are worth it though.
LANEIGE WATER SLEEPING MASK | The only one in the bunch I haven’t yet tried, but it is on my list and the reviews are amazing. This is a mask you apply overnight. It quickly absorbs while you sleep to deeply hydrate skin. It helps with dryness, dullness and uneven texture and fine lines.
KIEHL’S CALENDULA MASK | Another soothing and hydrating mask containing calendula and aloe. It is a lightweight gel mask that provides a refreshing surge of cooling hydration upon application. With continued use, skin is revitalized for a healthy-looking complexion. I love slapping this on before heading into the shower and wash it off right before I get out. It is also great if you get a bit too much sun or have wind burned skin.
I much prefer chemical exfoliation, or dermaplaning to using those harsh manual scrubs. They can really damage your skin. Please for the life of me, do not use that Apricot Scrub stuff on your face, EVER!!! It is great for your feet. The following masks are all fabulous for getting rid of the dead layer on the surface of your skin and get you glowing again. Even dry skin needs exfoliation. Just be gentle and use an exfoliating mask only every once in a while and follow it up with a good hydrating mask.
WANDER BEAUTY INSTANT FACIAL | This mask is very similar to the baby facial, but not quite as potent. It is great for sensitive skin and still does a great job of sloughing of the dead layer of skin, leaving your skin refreshed.
GLAMGLOW YOUTH MUD MASK | This is the closest thing to a salon quality facial in a jar. I have been a fan for years. It softens and brightens in as little as 10 minutes and helps with fine lines & wrinkles, dullness and uneven texture. It moisturizes, exfoliates, and lifts away impurities without disturbing skin’s essential oils. Anti-aging ingredients brighten and smooth while delivering a tighter, more youthful appearance with visibly minimized pores. I am telling you, this stuff does it all.
TATA HARPER RESURFACING MASK | When people ask me for an exfoliating mask, I tend to recommend the Baby Facial. However, sometimes it is too potent and like I said before, not every mask works for every person. If people have issues with the baby facial, I recommend this one next. Another clean beauty option, this natural BHA and enzyme-powered mask restores glow and refines the look of pores for smoother, healthier-looking radiant skin. It also tightens for a youthful glow. Another great option, and the packaging is so pretty.
THE BABY FACIAL | Because of my super sensitive skin, I was nervous to try this. I thought it would make my rosacea flare up and irritate my skin, but in the name of science, I tried it anyway. It worked great. I love that you can mix this with any Drunk Elephant moisturizer to make it into an exfoliating and hydrating mask. I leave mine on for 15 minutes and immediately follow up with their Marula Oil, or a hydrating mask, usually he Skyn Iceland one.
DEEP CLEANING MASKS
Since I have dry and sensitive skin, I rarely use these masks. However, in the summer time, when my nose and forehead get gunked up from from sweat and sunscreen, I love turning to these to unclog my skin and give it a fresh start. Also, my teenage son, who has mild acne is always happy to be my guinea pig with these and he can attest to their quality and de-gunking capabilities.
GODDESS CLAY MASK | This stuff is pure magic. I truly love all of Charlotte Tilbury’s products and this one does not disappoint. Although it is a clay mask, it does not dry out my skin and is probably the most appropriate for mature skin. It does clean, but never feels dry, and also firms and tightens. It helps to create the appearance of tighter pores, moisturized skin and fewer imperfections and leaves my skin glowing. I love it!
LOVE & CHARCOAL | Crafted with powerhouse ingredients like aloe vera and charcoal, this detoxifying face mask works to purify and cleanse the skin without drying it. It draws out dirt & debris, absorbs excess oil, and boosts the skin’s natural defenses Organic Aloe Vera and Cupuacu Butter help to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is a gentle, deep cleansing mask.
ORIGINS CLEAR IMPROVEMENT | A truly powerful, deep cleaning mask. Once this one dries , it is hard to move your face. It really draws out dirt and impurities to give your skin a fresh start. It is strong stuff, so I ONLY use this on my nose, but my son love this one all over to help keep is skin clean and clear after sports. A winner for oily & acne prone skin.
I hope you find something new to love in this post. However, there are many masks I have not tried. Please share your favorites in the comments below.
Happy Friday! This week was long, or was it just me? I have had a slew of doctors appointments over the last couple weeks and this momma needs a break. I am ready to get spoiled this Sunday. What are your plans for Mother’s Day? Sleeping in and Mimosas are high on my agenda.
My obsession with white tops continues and I have found the perfect white summer tee. It comes in a few different colors, but I just love a crisp, clean white. This tee is the perfect causal top to pair with denim shorts, but also works well with dressier bottoms.
THE PERFECT WHITE SUMMER TEE
The eyelet details makes it extra special and the romantic sleeves add a nice feminine touch. I will be wearing this all spring and summer long and may even get the blush color ( my other current color obsession). It is also currently on MAJOR sale.
These boyfriend shorts are a summer staple in my closet and they are also currently on sale. I did a denim short deep dive last year and these were the winners by far. I sized up one size for a slouchy fit. They also come in white.
The bag is adorable and just the right size for my wallet, sunglass case, sunscreen spray, keys and lipgloss. It is a sturdy little bag with a cute navy and white striped lining inside. It comes with a removable strap and I love it as a cute statement purse for a fun night out without the strap.
The shoes are on repeat and I have talked about them endlessly on the blog. They are pricey, but a worthwhile investment in my opinion. I have had mine for almost 5 years (they were my 40th birthday gift to myself) and they still look like new. They match my skin tone pretty close and elongate my legs, event hough they are flats. This is the perfect summer shoe and takes you from beach to cocktails without effort. They are almost always appropriate, even a casual beach wedding.
The days are getting warmer and this outfit is a perfect example of my summer style – refined casual. I rely on staple items to put together outfits quickly and easily and I don’t mind investing some money into classic staples to kick my casual style up a notch.
Happy weekend and happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms, daughter, aunts, nieces, grandmas…. I am sending love and light your way and hope you get spoiled rotten.
