Why did you create your website on WiX? Maybe you were afraid that WordPress is too complicated, or maybe some friend recommended it to you. One way or another – you have a website on WiX and after some time realized that this was not the best of your decisions. You’ve watched a few tutorials and now understand that WordPress is simpler and more convenient then you originally thought and decided that it is time to move out.
Why should you quit WiX?

  • Price. If you don’t pay an annual fee – you have to deal with the numerous WiX ads. And to get rid of the advertisements you will have to pay at least $11. WordPress is free, the only thing you will have to pay for is hosting. And low-cost, but reliable, hosting service starts at about $3 per month.
  • Customization options. WiX is not flexible at all. After you choose a template at the beginning of the website creation process you won’t be able to change it afterward. To change the look of the site you will have to create a new one.
  • SEO. This CMS is not very search engine friendly. You won’t get to the top position of search results page with it. There are some SEO improvement tools in it but they are much more complicated than the ones created for WordPress. If you don’t have sufficient traffic from social media or advertising – WiX is not the best platform to use.
  • Poor navigation. WiX is not a CMS for big sites. The menu you can create in it has only two levels of depth and that means you can’t create complicated submenus. That will make the user experience worse and navigation, in general, less understandable.
However, shifting from WiX to WordPress won’t be an easy, fast, or free task. WiX doesn’t allow you to import the data, so you will have to copy all the information and then paste it to your new website. There are three main ways of migrating from WiX to WordPress: manual migration, RSS data import, and using the plugin. I’m going to describe all three to you.

Before you start the “big migration” from WiX to WordPress you have to do some preparations. They are similar for all three methods of shifting, so you have to perform these steps one way or another. Start from the beginning, so you won’t have to think about the basics later.

1. Hosting

Before moving, every normal person does his best to find a place to go first. The same situation should be with migrating from WiX to WordPress. You have to prepare a new place first. And hosting is such a place. Find a hosting provider you consider to be reliable (for example InMotion or Bluehost) and create an account. I recommend choosing a paid hosting plan, although there are a few free ones. Hosting affects your website’s speed and security, so pay serious attention to it. You get what you pay for.

Really good hosting services like those I mentioned include a free domain name, so you won’t have to worry about that. Besides that, while your website is still on WiX you have to wait to take that name after deleting the previous site. If you wonder what hosting service to choose here’s a very detailed WordPress Hosting 101 where we go through the advantages and disadvantages of all the best providers in the web.

2. WordPress

Once you’ve created an account for the hosting it is time to install WordPress there. Solid hosting services have that option by default – you don’t have to spend any additional efforts, just click the appropriate button and WP will be installed automatically. You won’t be able to download the theme you chose on the WiX site, so I recommend that you also get yourself a WordPress theme that will look similar to the one you had previously (or maybe it is just time to change your website’s style).

If you need some more details about registering on the hosting and creating a WordPress website – go through our “Easy as LEGO” article.

Doing everything with your own hands

This is the slowest, long-term, and routine method. However, it is completely free and you won’t have to spend any additional resources or money for it. In this case, you just manually copy all the data you had on your WiX website and paste it to your new WordPress site. It is as simple as it sounds – Ctrl+C and then Ctrl+V. Repeat until all the data has landed on your new website. And yes, this kind of activity will demand all the patience and accuracy you have because it is a little tedious and boring.

If your website has fewer than twenty pages – this is a perfect migration method that won’t take much time. It is also good because you can control that fact that all the content will be in its place. However, if there are hundreds or even thousands of posts… well, those would be really long working hours (on the other hand, if you are a boss, you can give that job to one of your employees – good to be a boss, huh?).

There is a specialized plugin that helps to post lots of posts together at the same time (Mass Pages/Posts Creator) but it is not really convenient. To post several posts you have to type the information and separate it with commas and that is a little messy and could make checking a hard task. If you are creating a demo this plugin will be useful because you can create dozens of dummy posts at a time. But for your own business website, it is better to copy and paste one post at a time.

What should you pay attention to when moving the posts from WiX to WordPress?
  • URL. You have to pay attention to the way it will be generated by WordPress. The URL has to be precisely the same it was on the WiX website – so that your readers will be able to find it.
  • Formatting. If you copy the content from the pages of the website directly – the formatting could be damaged. Make sure you cleared the previous formatting and set the right one to avoid an ugly appearance.
  • Links. Check all the links you inserted into text to be sure they are not broken and will lead the visitor to the appropriate page of your website or some other.
  • Images. You can’t just copy and paste images from WiX to WordPress. You will have to download them to your computer and then upload to the WordPress Media Library. Don’t forget to add alt text – it is very useful for search engines and people who have problems with sight accessibility.
Using RSS feed

Actually, all the steps will be the same and the difference is that some of them will be performed automatically by a special algorithm. WiX allows you to add an RSS button to your blog and WordPress allows you to import RSS feeds. It could save you some time.

So, first of all, you have to add a little button to your blog. It will display an RSS feed further. Go to the WiX Editor (I mean the drag-and-drop one). Choose to customize the Blog page.

Now click the blog feed. Four buttons will emerge, choose the “Settings” button and hit it with the pointer.

It will open the specialized tile of Blog settings. Open the “Add-Ons” tab.

You will see a block with a few elements in it. You will need the last one – RSS Button. Click “Add to the page and in the drop-down menu choose where it will land. I picked “Blog (Current)” option.

The button will be placed on the center of the screen and you can now move it to any place you would like to see it. It’s done!

Now click the “Publish” button to show the changes and then “View Site” to shift to the live view.

On the site go to your blog and find the RSS button you just added. After you click on it you will see something like this:

Do a right-click somewhere on the page and save the XML file to the computer. You have to understand, that RSS feed won’t contain the images – only text information. You will have to download all the photos manually. And now open your WordPress dashboard. Open Tools > Import tab.

Here’s a list of data you can import to your WordPress website. Click the “Install Now” button under RSS option and then confirm running an importer.

Click the “Choose file” button and pick the appropriate file on your computer. Then hit the “Upload file and import” button. It will take a few seconds and the RSS feed will be imported and the posts will appear in the list (check it by going to Posts > All Posts). There will be only text content but what do you do with the pictures? Luckily you won’t have to manually download and insert pictures to every post. There’s a great plugin to do it.

Auto Upload Images plugin starts to work when you save the post. It searches for the images URLs which are in the post and uploads the images to the WordPress Media Library. After that, it replaces the new URLs with the old ones and the pictures appear in the post. It is much faster than manually downloading all the pictures and then inserting them one by one to the posts.

Using paid plugin

In the end, you don’t have to do anything by yourself. There’s always an option to ask for help from some professionals. Of course, that will be a paid service but it could make your life sufficiently easier. CMS2CMS is such a service and they could provide as much help as you would like to have.

First of all, you can download their plugin for automated migration. There you will be able to take a look at the demo migration and evaluate if you like the service. The plugin will move ten pages from WiX to WordPress and that will include pictures and content. The system will also give you recommendations about the template which will match the theme you used on WiX.

So, how does that service work? I’ll describe all the steps for you.

Create an account on the website. You can sign up not only by typing your email and password, but via Google or Facebook account.

After registration, you will be lead to the specialized wizard and through the data collecting process. Type the URLs of WiX and WordPress websites and install the Connector plugin.

Verify what data you would like to move to your new website. That could be content, taxonomy, user info, and menu. After that, click “Start Demo migration.” As I said previously it will move up to ten pages.

When the moving is finished you can check how well it worked and continue. After finishing the demo migration, the system will give you a report about the price of the completed migration. It could vary according to the number of pages your website has.

The CMS2CMS company also offers services and if you don’t want to waste any time – they will completely transfer the website to a new platform and even customize the template so it will look like the one you had chosen on WiX.

Polishing the theme

Transferring the data is not enough. If you liked the look of your WiX website and want the new site to look just like that – you will have to spend some time searching for a fitting template. Of course, there could be a possibility that you will find an appropriate free theme but I still recommend you get a premium one. Paid templates are more reliable and have more useful features. For a business website, it is better to have a fully functional theme that is supported 24/7.

After the latest update, WordPress has a Gutenberg Editor that is a little bit similar to the WiX Editor. At least it is also a drag-and-drop builder and you will spend less time trying to figure out how it works. If you don’t like Gutenberg I recommend you try Elementor builder – it is the most user-friendly, smoothly-working, and simple page builder on the market.

Changing the domain name

Your readers, customers, and visitors have become used to finding you at your specific site domain. If you change it, some of them won’t be able to find you. That’s why it is better to take the domain name with you when leaving WiX and moving to WordPress. Luckily, when you have purchased a domain name you can easily move it to another website, no matter the CMS.

Go to your WiX account and in the left side menu find “Settings” tab. Open the “Domains” option.

You will see the domain name you bought. Click on it and look at the available options. You need an “Advanced” tab.

After clicking “Transfer away” and “Send code” you will receive a code in your email box. You will need that code when proving to the hosting provider manager that you really own that domain name. Open your WordPress dashboard and go to Settings > General. Change the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to the ones you used in your previous website on WiX.

Wrapping up

You now know what you are going to face when starting to transfer your website from WiX to WordPress. However, I’m sure..

Every text should be improved with a visual component. Either it is pictures, or examples, subheadings, bullet lists, etc. This is especially true for boring statistics. If you need to share important data with the readers, it’s better to use schemes, graphics, or diagrams to help get the message across. For this very purpose, there’s a good solution - infographics.

If you want to make an infographic, you have some options to choose from. Of course, you can do it from scratch. Or you can download a template and put your own information there. Also, you can use Google Slides. And there are two options here: you can start from zero, or you can use a template. In this article, we are going to learn how to make an infographic with Google Slides using a template.

How to make an infographic with Google Slides

I’m writing this article assuming that you, my reader, are familiar with Google services, or at least some of them. You probably use Google Drive to keep files there, and I bet you use Google Docs and Google Photos.

But today we’re going to talk about Google Slides. This tool can’t be underestimated since it can become a great helping hand in creating presentations.

Let us consider the easiest way to make an infographic - we’ll use a template. Follow these step-by-step instructions to create your own info-sheet.

Find a template

First, you’ve got to find a template. Google it and you’ll see what a wide choice there is. For example, I purchased the Wander template. You can buy this one, too, or you can try something else. I recommend that you check out TemplateMonster’s Google Slides Themes or Infographic elements.

Uploading a template

Now that you’ve chosen a template and downloaded it on your PC, you need to unzip it. I’m sure you needn’t be told how to unzip an archive. But after you’ve done that, you need to upload it into Google Slides.

Go to Slides.

Open the Blank presentation.

So far, the process was the same as if you wanted to create an infographic on your own.

So now is exactly the time to upload your template into this blank presentation. Go to File → Import slides...

Then choose Upload and Select the file.

Here it is, already unzipped.

Start working with slides

At this point, you can choose what slides you want to include in your infographic. You can choose separate slides, or you can choose all of them. After you’re done click Import slides.

To make it simple, I decided to include only three slides to build this infographic. After I uploaded them, here is what I’ve got.

As I have a template, I don’t need this first blank slide, so I’m deleting it.

Now I have to do something with the size. We need to make our first slide vertical. For this, go to File → Page setup.

Now you choose Custom settings, choose Pixels, and adjust the sheet at your discretion. I recommend you set it to 700 x 1800 pixels.

After you apply the changes the slides will be vertically stretched.

Don’t panic. Just keep building the infographic using the elements you want.

Final touches

Now I’m going to show you what I decided to change and how I set the elements of my three slides. I’m going to place everything that I need on my first slide. It is what will be the actual infographic in the end.

That’s how I’ve built a simple infographic.

I’ll show you exactly what I’ve been doing.

First of all, you can select all the elements of the slides you’ve got.

You can also select more than one element at the same time.

After you select an element, you can delete it or drag it anywhere you want. For example, below you can see that I removed some elements and those that I decided to keep were placed on the spots I liked. Here is what I have now.

Now I can copy the elements from the other slides and paste them into the first slide.

I can also stretch the elements like this.

Here are the main principles of building an infographic from slides.

Just in case. You probably have noticed that it’s not very convenient to manipulate elements of such a small size. You can zoom in just pressing Ctrl + Alt + + and zoom out with Ctrl + Alt + -.

That’s it for now. Hopefully, this tutorial was helpful. Now you know that you can build your own infographic using a template and Google Slides.

Good luck!

The sphere of informational and digital technologies is one that is hard to compete with, especially when it comes to varied novelties. On the one hand, it gives users vast choices and stimulates providers to work on the quality of their products. On the other hand, new businesses literally cover bad quality with bright and catchy marketing. So, it happens that modern consumers struggle with making the right purchase, with no regrets the money spent on it.

Gutenberg WordPress Editor is the must-have tool for CMS!

So, it’s been a year since the sensational Gutenberg WordPress Editor was released. Now, it is on its way to proving that the process of website building can be without many difficulties. Moreover, it’s become more available for everyone, due to this editor-plugin and its add-ons.

Just for the record, Gutenberg (named in the honor of Johannes Gutenberg who started the printed revolution) is more than an editor! It is based on the ability to represent all content in blocks and define the record layout right in the editor. That’s truly easier and more innovative compared to other products of this rank. Using Gutenberg you create complex layouts without knowledge of HTML and CSS (for example, earlier you had to find the right shortcode or plugin to add some video/image or a button. Forget about it! Now you just click on “+”). The location of blocks in the editor also looks like the actual structure of the page. That’s what real live editing means.

Hopefully, you’re engaged with Gutenberg WordPress Editor and want to increase your user knowledge. Go on reading to find out lots of useful and interesting tricks!

10 Gutenberg Editor Tricks
#1. View at Different Angles

In Gutenberg, there are a few variants of “editor view.” You can find them at the top right corner. Hovering over that, you’ll see “more” - more options for your ease of use.

  • Unified Toolbar
You’re provided with two alternatives of working with the toolbar. When there is a check-mark on “Unified Toolbar,” it appears on the top of the editor. When it’s not checked, the toolbar is available above each block you hover over.
  • Spotlight Mode
This option is included to highlight with bold the block you are currently working on. It also fades those that are less important for your workflow.
  • Fullscreen Mode
Fullscreen Mode expands the editor itself. So, you can watch it without the WordPress admin menu.

All these options are very easy to switch between. You can try each of them.

#2. Keyboard Shortcuts

There are plenty of shortcuts are for your user comfort. You can find them easily. Click on the ellipsis in the top right corner and follow down the menu.

#3. Copy Multiple Blocks at Once

To copy all the content in the blog at once, click on the ellipsis on the top right and at the bottom of the menu you will see “Copy All Content.” That’s what you need to complete this task.

#4. Moving Blocks

Moving any block is absolutely easy using up and down arrows. Hover over a block and they will become visible. You’ll also see a dotted icon at the left of the block. Use it to put the block anywhere you prefer.

#5. Changing Block Types

Click on the block you need and choose the current block type option. Every block type can be changed only to its current block type. It depends on the content it includes. For example, a text block can’t become an image block.

#6. Adding New Blocks

You add a new block by:

  • hitting “return” at the end of the current block and a new one will appear below it
  • clicking on the “+” at the top left to get a new block right after the block you’re working in
  • typing Alt+Ctrl+T to add a block on the top of the current one and Alt+Ctrl+Y to add a block on the bottom
  • clicking on the ellipsis to embed a new block on the top or bottom
#7. Removing Blocks

Click on the block you want to delete and hit Alt+Ctrl+delete/backspace. Or use the ellipsis.

#8. Advanced Block Options

To get some extensions, go to the settings icon (next to the ellipsis in the right).

#9. The Info About Post Structure

Use the Info Icon at the top left to find out info about word count, a number of headings, paragraphs, and blocks, and even a summary of the entire blog layout.

#10. Search for Blocks

This option is very helpful when you have many different blocks and want to focus your work on a specific one. It can save your time.

Gutenberg Editor for Beginners

In reality, this article section sounds more like an assertion than a title for a tutorial. The main idea of Gutenberg Editor creation is the comfort of users without a professional background. So, if you are not tech-savvy, update your WP version to add and customize new content easily and quickly. This editor is a real magic tool for bloggers as they always deal with tons of new content and search for creative ways of its showing.

So, let’s talk about how to use WP Gutenberg together!

Step #1

So, you use Gutenberg for the first time and have no posts yet. Then add a new post (or open one of your oldies).

On the right, you’ll see the sidebar. It’s packed with lots of features to let you set post privacy, delete the post, choose categories and tags, add featured an image, decide to show or not show comments, and far more.

Step #2

Work with blocks - your best friends. As a matter of fact, in Gutenberg Editor, blocks themselves are your diverse content. You can place anything you want just by picking out the tab you need. In this way, you can browse a particular block type, then add another one, and so on.

They can be very different:

  • Paragraphs
  • Headings
  • Block quotes
  • Images and galleries
  • Lists
  • Embedded media
  • Buttons
  • Tables
As well, you can find the right tab by searching for keywords.

In general, that’s all you need to know to use Gutenberg. More about its options and blocks are disclosed below.
How to Convert Your Current WP Posts to Gutenberg Blocks

Feeling unsure about updating WordPress? A bit stressed out thinking of losing your actual posts. Then, dedicate a few minutes and we’ll guide you on how to convert your current posts to Gutenberg, step by step!

Step #1

In the Classic Block menu, hover over the three dots to view “More Options.” Click on the “Convert to Blocks” and wait for a little.

Step #2

After WordPress has finished the conversion, you’ll gain a possibility to view each block. For example, each paragraph of your text should be represented in a paragraph block, each image - in an image block, and so on.

Ready! That’s how you’re supposed to do it, literally with just a few clicks.

How to Create a Custom Gutenberg Block in WP

WordPress CMS is supplied with numbers of handy blocks that are also irreplaceable while operating content. Still, the usage possibilities are unbounded, which means you can create your own unique blocks. Let’s find the answer on how to make custom blocks using Gutenberg step by step!

Step #1. To Start...

First of all, download Block Lab for FREE. This plugin really keeps pace with the idea of representing content in blocks, especially custom blocks up to your own requirements.

Of course, don’t forget to activate Block Lab!

Step #2. Create a New Block

To open Block Lab in your admin panel, click on “Add New” from the left sidebar. Write the name of your new block in the “Enter block name here” textbox.

Find the block “Properties” on the right side of the page. Here, you can select a block category or choose an icon.

In the “Keywords” text field you can mention up to three keywords for your block. That helps to raise its availability for search engine systems. If you don’t feel like doing it, the plugin will manage it automatically.

It’s time to add some fields. There are many different types to choose from. Decide what your block is missing, like text, URL, numbers, images, testimonials, email, and more. Then click on the “+ Add Field” button.

It also provides the field with varied options, like:

  • Field Label
  • Field Name
  • Field Type
  • Field Location
  • Help Text
Moreover, each of them comes with additional benefits. As well, you can turn them on or refuse to do it up to the purpose.

If you want to change the order of your block fields, find the hamburger icon (on the left side of each field label). Using it you can drag any field.

To edit or remove a field, hover your mouse over the field label to get the edit and delete options.

As soon as you’re done, choose the publish button to save your custom Gutenberg block. You’ll always find it on the right side of the page.

Step #3. Make a Block Template

On this step, your freshly baked custom block still doesn’t work. That’s why you need to create a block template named block-testimonials.php and insert it into your current theme folder. It’s important for adjusting the collaboration of the plugin and the new block. Block Lab displays your block fields and different content in Gutenberg editor.

You can’t omit this step, as the error “Template file blocks/block-testimonials.php not found” will be displayed immediately.

Let’s start!

To begin, create a folder on your desktop. Call it “Blocks” to avoid troubles. In a while, you’ll build a template file inside of this folder to upload it to your current WordPress theme directory.

To create this file, you can use the well-known Notepad.

Don’t forget to use a specific PHP code, every time you add a new field to your custom block:

<php block_field( 'add-your-field-name-here' ); >
'add-your-field-name-here' should be changed for the current name of your field.

Now, you can place some HTML tags. For instance, you can wrap the reviewer image URL inside an image tag.

At last, name the file as block-testimonials.php and save it inside the block folder.

Look at an example of a possible final result on this step:

<div class="testimonial-block clearfix">
    <div class="testimonial-image">
        <img src ="<?php block_field( 'reviewer-image' ); ?>">
    <div class="testimonial-box">
        <h4><?php block_field( 'reviewer-name' ); ?></h4>
        <p><?php block_field( 'testimonial-text' ); ?></p>
Step #4. Bring Style to Your Custom Block

Grab the code below to style your custom block with the help of CSS! To do the rest of the work, you can use Notepad and fill it with the next code:

.testimonial-block {
 width: 100%;
 margin-bottom: 25px;
.testimonial-image {
 float: left;
 width: 25%;
 padding-right: 15px;
.testimonial-box {
 float: left;
 width: 75%;
.clearfix::after {
 content: "";
 clear: both;
 display: table;

To save your result inside the block folder, name it block-testimonials.css.

Step #5. Add the Block Template File to the Theme Folder

So, let’s upload the custom block folder with the template file to the theme folder. For this, using an FTP client, connect to your WordPress website.

Next, find the folder / wp-content / themes /. There open your current theme folder to upload the blocks folder (with the block template file and the CSS file) to your theme directory.

Block Lab Plugin enables users to make specific blogs. You shouldn’t worry if you want to change your actual WP theme for a new one. Just copy the blocks folder to your new theme directory.

Step #6. Crash Test

At the pages section, choose “Add New” to get a new page. Then click on the Add Block (+) to work with the testimonials block. Doing this, you’ll add your new custom block to your page editor.

At this stage, you can easily fill your custom block with testimonials. If you need more testimonials, just embed new testimonial blocks.

And, now, preview the page or even publish it! That’s all! You’ve succeeded in creating your own custom block!

If you’re a web developer, without doubts, you can style your own blocks writing code for them (a code that meets your WP theme).

How to Place a Cover Image Block in Gutenberg

For sure, your post articles need catchy representative images. As you’re familiar to the old well-known featured-image option, you might be a little confused working with the new WP editor.

So, to accomplish the aforementioned task you need to use the cover image block. It’s the block for a cover image where optionally you can also add a header. The advantage is that it will be placed over your cover image, such as on a background.

Step #1

In the editor click on the “+” icon and look for “Cover Image.”

Step #2

Then hit on “Enter” to automatically add a new paragraph block. You’ll also see the auto-complete menu where available blocks are listed. Choose the image block and click on “Enter.”

Step #3

Now, to the block, upload an image you prefer to use as your cover. Also, you can choose one from the media library or just drag-and-drop any picture from the web.

Step #4

It’s time to pay attention to the cover image block toolbar. It’s divided into four parts:

  1. Transform Option
In one click, it allows you to change your current block for another.
  2. Block Alignment Option
It serves to align your cover block to the left, center, or right.
  3. Text Align Option
The same as with the previous option, you can align the heading in the cover image to the left, center, or right.
  4. Cover Image Block Inspector/Sidebar Controls
Control Option Using the edit icon control you can change the uploaded cover image for another one
Fixed Background This option enables you to set the background-attachment property to be "fixed"
Background Dimness It’s very helpful when you want to add your title more definition adjusting the overlay opacity/dimness of the background image
Additional CSS Class Right here you can add a CSS class to the block. We’ll also tell you how to do it in detail
How to Add a Carousel to Blog Posts and Pages with Gutenberg

Building a website on your own is the goal. To facilitate many tasks, several extensions are available to modern users, such as plugins and add-ons.

So, thinking of enhancing your page with carousel gallery? Easy-peasy!

To start, be sure that you’ve already downloaded Gutenberg Blocks. If you haven’t, seize the link for FREE downloading!

Step #1

Add a new block using Gutenberg Editor. Choose previously installed Gutenberg Blocks, like in the example:

Then open the category section and click on the option called “Post Carousel.” Once you’ve done it, you’ll see a carousel below.

Step #2

Move to the general tab. There are different options for carousel creation. It can be built as a post or pages, tags, and categories.

In this tutorial, we’ll continue working in the post type “Posts.”

For taxonomy, you can choose “Categories.” The options depend on your own purpose.
Step #3

To increase or reduce the number of items in your carousel is up to you.

Step #4

Don’t forget to check the order of items in the carousel and set the height for columns.

Step #5

Now, you need to click on the carousel tab to define what a carousel performance you prefer. For this, on the hover select “Autoplay” and customize the speed.

Step #6

Next, click on the image tab to choose and adjust the featured image. Pay attention to its size, position, etc.

Step #7

If you need to add such info as an author, date, comments, and other, go to the content tab.

Step #8

To continue, click on the read more link tab to choose the way to show your URLs. Up to your view, customize the buttons or leave them by default.

Step #9

Next, style your text. For this, click on the typography tab. Here you can edit your heading and pick out font styles for every part of your blog post.

Step #10

The color tab is the next stop. Choose colors for texts and background.

Step #11

You’ve almost finished creating the carousel! Set the spacing of the items within the carousel (in the spacing tab).

That’s all! Enjoy the results!

How to Place an Image to a Paragraph Blog Using Gutenberg
  • Decide which image and where you want to insert it.
  • Create a new block “Image Block.”
  • Then, drag it and drop under the paragraph block you want to add the image before. For this, use the up and down arrows.
  • Click the align right icon.
Very easy, isn’t it?
How to Embed a Page Post with Gutenberg

Great news, bloggers! Using Gutenberg Editor you can transform any of your current posts into a page post. Find out how!

As you’ve opened the post you need in Gutenberg, now add a few page breaks to it. For this, go to the blocks tab (the layout elements). There you’ll find page breaks. Uploading a few of them, you’ll get the classic page navigation.

Moreover, the actual idea of using..

The operating principle of this html5 internet speed test is quite simple – it chooses the closest server out of 1000s available, connects to it, carries out a test, and displays the following results:

  • download speed
  • upload speed
  • reaction time (ping)
Speed test html5 beta version by Ookla has been functioning since 2005, after it completely discarded Flash technology. Speedtest.net works perfectly on any of the existing browsers with no additional plugin needed. Accurate and fast, Ookla html5 speed test is definitely worth being No. 1 on our list.
2. SpeedOf.Me

SpeedOf.Me is an html5 internet speed test that works equally well on desktop computers, mobile devices, and can be deservedly named one of the best modem speed test html5. During the measurement process, the files are downloaded and uploaded in sequence, which imitates the real web browsing conditions. In addition to displaying the graph of real-time downloads and unloads, it provides you with a handy function of tracking your results, so you can compare them to the previous tests taken.

To launch the test, hit the “Start Test” button. The results will be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. Your test history is displayed in the bottom in the “History” section. According to user feedback, SpeedOf.Me is considered to be one of the fastest, most accurate and reliable tests.

3. Fast.com

Nothing but professional broadband speed test html5. And when I say “nothing” I really mean it. This test is extra simple. It cannot boast of exquisite design or sophisticated features. Founded by Netflix, the test is launched automatically after you access the website.

The only default result which is displayed by the test is a speed value. So, in case you don’t need any other data to clutter your mind with, Fast.com is a real catch. More curious users can find detailed test results by hitting the “Show more info” button.

4. Internet Health Test

Internet Health Test is a bit slower than, for example, speed test html5 ookla. However, don’t be too quick to write it off. It is far more detailed than any other test from our list, so I believe the results you get are worth waiting a bit longer for.

Internet Health Test ensures an opportunity to check the speed of your internet connection in different server arrangements. So, in case you would like to get snowed under the numerous data results, feel free to carry out an expanded analysis.

5. Testmy.net

The given broadband speed test html5 can compete equally with Internet Health html5 speed test in terms of accuracy and quantity of data it provides.

Testmy.net is really good in comparison, as it provides you not only with the results of upload and download speed but demonstrates your speed rate compared to the data of the recent service users.

One of the most important features of Testmy.net speed test html5 is the possibility to schedule a regular testing. If you happen to have repeated problems with your internet connection, a frequent testing can help you create a test log at different times of a day with no need to constantly use your computer.

6. SpeedSmart

Smoothly running and quite accurate thanks to the cleanliness of its html5 speed test code, SpeedSmart speed test html5 provides the key data on your Internet connection: upload, download, and ping for a bit deeper analysis. This is a great service which developed its own app to always be at hand and to keep track of your test history. Android or iOS – it supports both!

Thanks to its HTML5 technology, SpeedSmart test works just fine on any of the existing devices and in no way lags behind the Ookla speed test beta html5. An option of inserting your own server data into the service database is just perfect to get even more accuracy with SpeedSmart.

7. Open Source HTML

Another quite good html5 speed test Open Source HTML. It doesn’t have its own servers, so you will have to use yours as well as to install the software. And even if there is nothing special about this html5 speed test, except that it provides jitter frequency data (Packet Delay Variation) in addition to download, upload, and ping results, Open Source HTML can be a good alternative to, for example, ookla speed test html5 or SpeedOf.me to double check the information on the internet connection you have.

My own experience with html5 speed test usage

To make your selection even easier, I made all seven tests. Check out the results I got:

Speed Test Download Speed, Mbps Upload Speed, Mbps Ping, ms Performance speed
Speedtest.net 36.37 31.35 3 2
SpeedOf.me 48.89 51.88 28 5
Fast.com 44 52 9 1
Internet Health Test 44.27 55.81 3
Testmy.net 44.8 52.1 7
SpeedSmart 44.63 58.65 47 4
Open Source HTML 48.32 63.03 72.40 6
As you see, the results turned out to be quite different from each other, despite the fact that all the tests had been taken on the same host and via the same network. This happens because of the discrepancies any speed tests have when it comes to its handling of timing and data. The type of browser you use to carry the test out also matters. Usually, the same test performed via different browsers returns different results.

Before you try any of these speed test html5 services, please remember, in order to get frank and forthright results it is recommended not to use your online connection for some complicated tasks or share your data while performing the test – any of these processes will consume more bandwidth. It is better to restart all devices connected to the network before the test and to update cache in order to eliminate all the possible clogs.

Many business owners and professional web designers get faced with the following questions:

  • Which CMS should I choose for my next website?
  • Among many fashion themes, which one is best for my store?

I’m hoping that by the end of this article, you will be able answer both questions with confidence.

Let’s dive in!

Table of Contents:

There are so many options now on the market that a brief cost/benefit analysis of WooCommerce is a smart thing to do.

Why choose a WordPress fashion theme?
1. WooCommerce technology is free

There are many other benefits of WooCommerce, but this one is the most impressive.

WordPress is an open-source technology that offers more than enough functionality to get your website up and going. You won’t have to pay any support or license fees. Now you can understand why so many fashion e-commerce sites are built on WooCommerce.

2. WooCommerce is modular

This means that the technology itself is very flexible and you can adapt it to any business need. There’s a standard set of features that you can use right away and tons of plugins with specific functionalities that have been developed for WordPress by the community. All you have to do is explore the plugins and create your perfect e-commerce website.

With other CMSs, everything is more unified, and you can’t pile up your perfect set of e-commerce features while customizing your website.

3. There are thousands of themes and templates made for WooCommerce

Anyone who wants to build a fully functional website fast will end up looking for a good theme. We will explore the characteristics of great WooCommerce fashion themes below.

Now let me tell you about the unique offer from TemplateMonster that gives you the full access to the best premium WooCommerce themes for only $19 a month. You can choose any theme from the list and build your own website or sell the website to your clients. With ONE, you will spend much less money than you would have to pay if you got your themes elsewhere.

Any premium theme by TemplateMonster that is not included in ONE can be yours at a 50% discount. You also get all the plugins you will need to make your website work and some additional services! If it sounds too good to be true, please explore the offer yourself and join our ONE community.

4. WooCommerce is powerful and popular

When it comes to building an e-store, you don’t want to be too original. It’s much better if your websites feels familiar to your customers, like a good friend’s home where they can find the kitchen with their eyes closed. When feeling relaxed and welcome, people tend to splurge.

More than half of all websites you and I have been to are on WordPress. If you use WooCommerce to create your store, you will capitalize on that familiarity.

5. WooCommerce is flexible and scalable

When you use WordPress for your fashion store, you can be sure that your website will be growing with your business. Whenever you need to change something or add a new feature, there will be a huge pool of knowledge and technology you can draw from.

You will be able to make changes to your working website without having to work everything all over again. WordPress can be used for selling literally anything and you can change the profile of your website whenever you need to.

With all that said, let’s talk about WordPress eCommerce themes.

How to choose a great fashion store theme?
Look for designs that combine simplicity and elegance

Most people intuitively understand that simple websites that focus on one goal deliver better results than complicated ones with too many bells and whistles. Look closer at the websites owned by the best clothing brands and you will see that for yourself.

We all want more functionality but it doesn’t mean that fashion websites should look clumsy and Hulk-like. A website design that doesn’t distract people’s attention but instead highlights your products will help you win at e-commerce.

Overall, choose the themes that feature a full set of modern-day plugins while having cleaner lines, lots of whitespace, and air.

Selling handcrafted accessories effectively means that you would expect your website to do certain things for you. You will want it to display hundreds of items in such a way the unique value of every product shines through, like on the best fashion websites. The emphasis should always be on the products, not on the website design itself.

The simple beauty of the Artcraft theme will help you achieve that. It is optimized for e-commerce and full of useful UI elements.

  • Elementor
  • Clean and valid code
  • Retina ready

Average websites receive more than half of all their customer traffic from mobile devices. People search for fashion apparels using smartphones more often than personal computers. Knowing that, you need to create a fashion e-store that delivers its most gorgeous UI on mobile screens.

When choosing a theme, test it on a smaller screen and look carefully through all important elements. It’s not enough that layouts get resized for a mobile screen, all elements must be adapted to being operated by fingers on the go.

The mobile first paradigm includes many key elements. All of them were the focus of the TemplateMonster team when they were creating the fashion designs websites from this collection.

Are you after some sound WooCommerce hosting for your e-store? Then, you’ve got to carefully choose your future hosting provider.

If you’re about to run an e-commerce store, a standard shared hosting service is not the best option for you. E-commerce websites are more resource-hungry than regular WordPress sites. As your store grows bigger, a regular hosting plan will ultimately let you down.

What are the other options that WooCommerce store owners have? Many opt to go for dedicated servers, which are a pretty costly luxury. Others simmer down to three seasoned options: VPS, Managed WordPress hosting, and cloud hosting. These options do provide you with enough hosting resources. However, they are general solutions for WordPress, not optimized for the needs of your WooCommerce website.

But what if I tell you that you can get WooCommerce hosting instead? It will provide you with more resources, SSL certificate, WooCommerce-oriented support and cPanel, and more. Below, I’ll explore the advantages of WooCommerce hosting in more detail.

In this post, I compare the 5 best WooCommerce hosting solutions. Our top 5 picks are Bluehost, SiteGround, Inmotion Hosting, WP Engine, and HostGator. These providers consistently deliver users the best uptime, support, and overall experience. Read on and you’ll learn which WooCommerce web hosting best accommodates the specific needs of your business.

WooCommerce-oriented Hosting: A New Thing

In fact, WooCommerce-oriented hosting is a relatively new thing in the market. Unlike managed WP hosting, WooCommerce hosting delivers you the features and server-level optimization for resource-demanding WordPress stores. By now, it’s earned popularity as an affordable and specially optimized alternative.

The major benefit of WooCommerce web hosting is simplifying your tasks associated with website setup and management. Many plans feature pre-installed WooCommerce and free you from the installation hassle. You’ll just have to install one of the best WooCommerce themes to get the most out of your e-store.

Moreover, managed WooCommerce hosting often includes additional features and plugins that help you deal with the higher demands of WooCommerce. These plugins are pre-installed. So, you don’t have to spend extra time to get your website up and running.

The Major Benefits of WooCommerce Hosting

WooCommerce web hosting will give you a sizeable advantage in a number of aspects. Below, I list the major benefits of WooCommerce hosting compared to the casual shared hosting:

  • Optimization for E-commerce
WooCommerce hosting is ready to handle large numbers of shoppers browsing your website simultaneously.Imagine the following situation: You run a promotion and the traffic on your website multiplies. You get more than 100+ users browsing and completing purchases simultaneously. This is the point when a regular shared hosting will buckle. Provided your website becomes painfully slow, your potential new clients will abandon it and shop elsewhere. On the contrary, a managed WooCommerce hosting is ready to cope with the increased load. It is ready to handle next to any operational problem with ease. To put it simply, WooCommerce hosting provides for a smoother customer experience on the pages of your store.
  • Ready To Handle Multiple Database Calls
It’s no secret that WooCommerce stores will have lots of categories and product variations. This increases the number of database queries your website runs.Typical shared solutions just won’t handle all those calls. And again, your website will be slow and customers — disappointed. In contrast, WooCommerce hosting solutions are ready to carry out multiple database queries without slowing down your website.
  • WooCommerce-specific Caching
Many hosting providers use caching to ensure the optimal uptime and performance of your website. This is definitely a good thing you want. However, if you go for the basic WP hosting, it won’t account for the peculiarities of WooCommerce. In other words, it won’t cache your store-related website elements right, and your clients will notice that your e-store doesn’t function well.On the contrary, if you go for WooCommerce web hosting, you’ll be glad that your website is cached the way it is supposed to be. No discrepancies in the shopping process and a fast response will make your users happy.
  • Incredible Scalability
Do you worry about having to migrate your website when your business grows? Do you risk downtime when you happen to exceed your bandwidth limits? The answer is ‘Yes’ if your store runs on shared hosting.WooCommerce solutions are way more flexible. They ensure that your business can grow without restraints. How is this implemented? Your best WooCommerce hosting provider will constantly monitor your website growth and allocate more bandwidth once it’s needed.
  • Pre-built Sales-oriented Tools
No doubt, a shared solution won’t care much about your e-commerce specific needs. Contrarily, WordPress WooCommerce hosting delivers you great tools to maximize sales and restore lost leads. We’re currently talking about such hosting-powered features as abandoned cart technology and retargeting emails. Moreover, these tools are pre-configured for your convenience as an e-store owner.
  • Data-driven Reports
Managed WooCommerce hosting offers you reports that focus on maximizing your sales. These reports are often more useful for a WordPress online store than the more general reports created by Google Analytics. These data-driven reports are created with the help of additional plugins that you’ll find pre-installed within your ready-made WooCommerce instance. They let you create customer segments based on customer locations and histories of purchase.
  • E-commerce Trained Support
Tired of hosting operators unable to help with WooCommerce? Yeah, regular hosting support is not ready to handle any problems related to WordPress stores. If you don’t want to hire an expert to solve the technical tasks, WooCommerce hosting is the best option for you. It puts you through to WooCommerce experts that are really able to answer your specific questions.
  • Better Security
To secure your store’s transactions you need an SSL certificate. It adds a security layer around the data that travel from your customer’s browser to your e-store.Unlike regular shared hosts, WooCommerce hosting plans casually bring you an SSL certificate on board. This means that you don’t have to spend extra time choosing a reliable SSL certificate for your WordPress online store.
  • Faster Performance
Last but not least, WooCommerce best hosting gives you access to enough hosting resources to ensure the lightning-fast performance of your e-store. WordPress e-commerce hosting offers you faster loading times and more streamlined transactions.
Any Disadvantages?

Arguably, there are also some disadvantages to using WooCommerce hosting for your e-store. Let’s get acquainted with them.

  • It costs more
But not much more.Consider the revenue lost when your shared or managed WordPress hosting lets you down. And the damage to your brand reputation? If you consider these factors, WooCommerce hosting is 100% worth its money.
  • You may still miss some vital featuresBest hosting for WooCommerce typically includes such important things as updates and backups. However, make sure this is the case before you get into a long-term hosting plan.
  • It may feel bloated with softwarePre-installed software is good when you use it. However, if you’re an advanced developer, you may not need any of it at all. Then, pre-built extensions turn into a software bloat that you have to remove. You may also prefer to install WooCommerce yourself. If you’re after this option, make sure that your hosting plan supports it.
Have you ever run into any shortages of managed WooCommerce hosting? Share your experience in the Comments.
Is WooCommerce Hosting a Good Option?

There are multiple reasons why you might prefer WooCommerce hosting. It will be a great solution for you if:

  • You represent a small business that wants to power a fully-functional e-store.
  • You don’t have a sound grasp of the technical side of creating an e-store.
  • You’re not familiar with WordPress and WooCommerce installation.
  • You need resourceful e-commerce-related support.
  • You expect your store to grow in the future and don’t want to migrate.
At the same time, you may be fine with shared or managed WordPress hosting if:
  • You don’t plan to sell more than a couple of items.
  • You want to keep the cost of running your e-store as low as possible (often at your own expense).

Marketers say that only one in seven new products can become successful. And people always want to know what makes a new solution a hit or a miss.

We enjoy looking at the stories of the most popular tech products trying to understand and recreate their secrets.

On May 29 the global Elementor community celebrated the birthday of their favorite website builder.

The TemplateMonster marketplace team together with millions of users have joined the celebration. We deeply appreciate Elementor and we've chosen it over all other website builders. Without it, our amazing themes wouldn’t be the same.

And the third birthday of our favorite builder made us, the TemplateMonster team, sentimental and curious:

  • How did it all start back in 2016?
  • I mean in 2019, the success of Elementor is quite obvious. It's loved by more than 2 000 000 professionals from 180 countries.
  • But did that happen overnight?

Further we'll explore the history of the world’s top website builder from its birth until today. If you also want to know how great products come to be then keep on reading.

The WHY’s

In 2016, Yoni Luksenberg and Ariel Klikstein were successful web professionals, CEOs of Aryo Digital studio. The studio was founded in 2010 and has made a lot of awesome projects since then. Their team has covered all kinds of WordPress web design and development projects. They designed apps and improved UX for hundreds of websites.

But it was not all rainbows. Experienced developers remember how long it used to take to create a DIY website in those days.

The whole process of designing websites involves many tours of interacting with clients. Also, prototyping and making small changes. Back then, it had to be done with nothing but code and good luck. Developers couldn't know how a new feature will turn out until it was completed. And the process of getting websites improved and approved by clients took months on end.

Yoni and Ariel were looking for a solution that would turn web design into a visual interactive process. As in all success stories, they didn’t find what they needed. So they created Elementor.

The First Steps (2016-2017)

The main idea was to give designers complete control over the process and results of their work.

Arie and Yoni also knew that developers were sick and tired of creating new theme files for their projects over and over again.

There were also other users, like bloggers and content managers. Most of them didn't have any coding background and felt helpless when having to add content to websites.

And finally, website owners and marketers needed a technology to help them easily build highly converting landing pages.

So, the task was huge.

How did the new team approach the challenge? The Elementor team explains that:

  • They took a step back and reviewed all the goals they had in mind with maximum clarity. There was a lot of brainstorming, negotiating the details and determination to make the project pull through.
  • The team took the development very seriously. It was a long process for coming up with new creative solutions, testing them, and going back to where it started. As a result, only 100% effective and workable solutions found their way in the final product. Every inch of Elementor was carefully thought through.
  • When the product was finally born as a whole, the team took a step back again. They needed to make sure that Elementor has become a superior builder - powerful, flexible and easy-to-use. Again there was a lot of testing. And the result is here. More than 3000 five star positive reviews to Elementor across various platforms in 2019.

But let’s get back to 2016.

The Product Hunt Surprise

The builder was launched on May 29 of 2016 and the WordPress community got really excited.

I’ll explain what I mean by “excited”: it was some of the first users, not the creators, who launched Elementor on ProductHunt!

The creators did not even know!

They didn’t even have a video intro...

The team was expecting to gather the first feedback from users, have a week of rest and set of to Product Hunt. But the users got it their way.

If there is something to know about Product Hunt launches is that they matter. Creators make a big deal of them, choosing the timing, preparing presentations and official communications. To be successful, a product should get enough votes on ProductHunt and be at the top of the rating. If not, this is a huge opportunity missed.

So the Elementor team was shocked when some user introduced Elementor to the platform without them knowing. But they were not surprised when the Builder got more than 300 upvotes and got to the top 2nd position on the rating. Because they already knew that Elementor was a bomb. And this user-operated launch only proved it.

The launch was only the beginning of the journey.

The First Updates
  • Next, the Elementor team welcomed the world to their new template library.
  • In September, it was time to talk about responsive design. The mobile experience was already a big thing for web developers. So most websites and web themes were created responsive. But many users didn’t understand that EVERY piece of content they add to their websites should be optimized for mobile screens too.
  • Elementor made building responsive layouts so easy that the number of ugly pages we all got to see on mobile screens was significantly reduced.
  • By December, the team has worked out and released Elementor PRO. Launching the PRO version six months later was an unpopular but very responsible decision. They wanted to make sure that the professional version of the superstar builder was a new player on the market.
  • The next thing they did was a launch of 24 free widgets that were added to the builder inventory.

By the end of 2016, Elementor has gained a wide community of fans. Since then so many feedback was given, so many improvements were made.

Move on to 2018 -2019
  • At the dawn of 2018, Elementor was in the 39th most popular plugin in the world. Can you imagine the level of competition they had to win over?
  • Elementor spoke 50 languages and had over 70 plugins (actually many more) created by other developers to extend it.
  • And the Elementor social media community has grown to 17k fans in their Facebook (they have 63.5k now) and had 10,974 commits on Github.
  • During 2017, the team has made changes in the UI, the History feature, Inline editing, and Autosave/Draft functionalities.
  • The WordPress theme builder we all love now was launched on April 16, 2018.
  • In 2018, the template library got another awesome addition - the Blocks tab. Since then, the Elementors (I mean the users of Elementor) are using blocks to customize their websites through and through.
  • The team added Call to action buttons, Animated headlines, hover effects, image shadows and lightboxes.
  • Lots of awesome widgets were also added to the Elementor package, like Carousel, Testimonials and media, Single post widget, Facebook widget, Search and Navigation widget.

What’s Up in 2019?

Well, as you can see, Elementor builder has gone a long way and is not going to stop.

  • In January, they released the Pop-up builder. Now we have popups with multiple designs and easy-to-add content in the same builder and can set targeting rules in a few clicks. Easy, heh?
  • In 2019, Elementor PRO and all the later versions were released. The Elementor team has set two more ambitious goals for 2019 - to enable users to personalize EVERY INCH of the website, not only content areas but also the ability to create interactive content was added. This is huge and this is a reality now with Elementor PRO.

The whole process of website creation is now broken down to three easy steps:

  1. picking a template (header, footer, archive page, etc);
  2. filling it with dynamic content;
  3. setting the rules as to where it will apply.

Designing websites with dynamic content is where we all are heading to all these years.

Why am I making such a fuss about it? Because now you can create a website on your own. You can fill it your content seeing the result as you do it. This seems so obvious but website builders have gone a long way to achieve it.

Earlier this year, in February, Elementor has reached 2 000 000 active downloads. Only 7 months after reaching 1000 000 in 2018!
