Exploring China Town Los Angeles
& Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year or Lunar
New Year and this is the year of
the pig, but we have two dragons

Happy Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year and this is the year of the pig, but we have two dragons in our family ( and visited China in a dragon year). Don't miss some of our other posts about Chinese New Year living in Asia. 20 Stunning Photos: Chinese New Year UNESCO's Georgetown, Penang (檳城街頭文化廟會)

Los Angeles does not have a big China Town, but it is fun for us to experience the culture and architecture etc after having lived in Asia and traveled a lot in that area. Plus the fact that Mozart is fluent in Mandarin. Remember when Mozart sang in the Dallas China town ( which is even smaller than the one in Los Angeles)?

Blonde American Girl Singing Chinese! 甜蜜蜜

One of the best parts of visiting China Town in Los Angeles, is just walking around Central Plaza.

It's fun to visit any time with the kiddie rides and stores filled with fun surprises and even more exciting to explore during a Chinese holiday.

The gates are something not to miss ....

...and the bright colored buildings in the traditional Chinese architecture.

Even the walk way in is filled with dragons ....

...and you will find red lanterns everywhere.

The stores are filled red goodies from Asia .....

...and down many side streets you can stumble upon some amazing art galleries too!

It is easy to find it downtown near the Civic Center and parking is cheap and plentiful.

Wishing you a great earth pig year and pleasant adventure in China Town!

Let me know if you have been there and what was your favorite part! 新年快樂

Mozart Dee Stars in
Brat series "The Talent Show"

Mozart starred in 9 episodes of the

Mozart starred in 9 episodes of the super popular teen Brat series "The Talent Show" and was the only one to get a standing ovation ( after she performed the acoustic version of her original song "Paper Tiger"). There has been so much happening lately with her singing, songwriting and acting that it is hard to keep up with it all.

It was a fun set and Mozart enjoyed working with and getting to know Young Hollywood Influencers like Casey Simpson, Jordyn Jones, Sofie Dossi , Bryce Xavier, Indiana and more! Mozart goes to a lot of red carpet events so gets to hang out with them there too.

Mozart made a couple of cute videos ,vlogs about her experiences that are fun like this one about the standing ovation which also shows part of the show and some of the gossip:

I GOT A STANDING OVATION?? MOZART BRAT TEA SPILT - YouTube

And this youtube video about her Brat show experience with some of the footage from the show:

BRAT - THE TALENT SHOW | “Meet the Judges” | Ep.1- Mozart Storytime - YouTube

She also made a lot of new friends onset and one of her fans made a great fan page and made this cute collage edit:

The kids had a lot of fun together like this moment with Jalen Parker who is also with Mozart's  management team which is  Dream Talent.

It was a great experience for her  to perform one of her originals,  some of the Brat songs and to act on this show.

She loved performing......

....acting and working with the director, cast and crew!

So fun too that the make up person on the show, Teresa Aguilera was the same makeup person that did Mozart's make up for her "Push You Harder" music video!

Did you see the show? If not you can watch it now!

Best Beach in Los Angeles?
 El Matador in Malibu!

One of our great travel pleasures
of 2018, was discovering one of
California's most beautiful beaches!

One of our great travel pleasures of 2018, was discovering one of California's most beautiful beaches! El Matador State Beach is one of the best kept secrets of Los Angeles. Not as popular as the beautiful beaches of Santa Monica, Venice, Hermosa, Manhattan or Newport beaches, but known by some photographers and filmmakers who like to catch the "golden hour" at sunset there because the rocks make it so photogenic. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular!

Teen pop star Mozart recently filmed her latest music video on this gorgeous, natural beach and it will be releasing soon,( much different than her "Push You Harder" Video). Thus, this is how we discovered this exquisite spot. One thing to caution you about is checking the tide before going,  as the second day of shooting there, it was high tide and most of these rocks were all immersed and a more dangerous beach.

It is a lovely drive out to Malibu and there are picnic tables at the top of the beach near where there is parking for a small fee ( or you can park on the road).

It is not a beach for those that have trouble with steep hill and stairs, but that is pretty typical of many Malibu beaches. The lack of parking and steep terrain and far out location helps keep it an uncrowded beach, especially in winter, even on 70 and 80 degree days which are common in a California winter.

It hasn't been long since the horrible fires in Malibu that destroyed many homes including a few of the people we know, which was tragic and sad. It was shocking to see that the fire went all the way to edge of the top of this cliff before this beach, although it did not mar it's beauty. In fact, this burnt tree looking out to the sea and a single sailboat had a beauty of it's own and it was encouraging to know this area is already regenerating and reclaiming all of it's peace and magnificence.
What is your favorite beach?

Mozart's Female Empowerment Song "Push You
Harder" Acoustic Video with Stunning Vocals!

Teen recording artist Mozart is using her
powerful voice and lyrics in her new
single "Push You Harder" to stand up

Trilingual Teen recording artist Mozart is using her powerful voice and lyrics in her new single "Push You Harder" to stand up to the patriarchy in a mesmerizing ode to female empowerment and the various waves of feminism and it couldn't come at a more culturally relevant time.

Mozart - PUSH YOU HARDER ( Acoustic ) - YouTube

Mozart premiered the pared down acoustic version of "Push You Harder" on CelebSecrets and then released on Instagram ( where she is an Influencer) and Youtube.

“As much as I love the music video we made for this song, I  wanted to do an acoustic version to show the raw, artistic side of the song and haunting lyrics. Sometimes paring everything away to the ultimate simplicity helps shed more light on a topic,” Mozart states. “Just me and the piano touching one on one to my fans and viewers telling this familiar tale we live and providing inspiration for change. To get that change women and young people must use their power to vote and stand up to injustices. So I think the timing is perfect.”

Mozart - PUSH YOU HARDER (Official Music Video) - YouTube

“I wrote ‘Push You Harder’ a few days after I turned 17 last fall when there was a lot going on with the beginning of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements,” Mozart tells Celeb Secrets. “I care a lot about these issues and want to do my part to make our world a better place for everyone, so I wanted to write a girl power anthem that had an important message but was also fun, edgy and uplifting.”

In the "Push You Harder" Official music video above you can see Mozart paying homage to Lady Justice, the Suffragettes, Amelia Earhart, Rosie the Riveter, Rosa Parks, Wonder Woman, Maya Angelou, Frida Kahlo, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Women’s March and even Mother earth.  She wrote/directed/edited/produced the video as well as writing and singing the song. She wanted to include some shocking images to match the lyrics like "Don't shoot me in my chest, and tell me to stop bleeding" but she also wanted it to be about transforming the pain into something positive.

PERFORMANCES COMING SOON

Mozart will be performing in Los Angeles at Molly Malones this Friday on Nov 9th at 8:30 pm and December 22nd at the legendary Coffee Gallery Backstage.
Mozart is always adding shows so make sure you sign up for her mailing list and keep an eye regularly on her show list. Music Legend and concert promoter Bob Stane said this about Mozart:

"PUT THIS IN YOUR MEMORY BANK. YOU SAW HER FIRST AT THE COFFEE GALLERY BACKSTAGE. She could easily be the next big pop star. We gave her a Saturday night for a reason. "

TEEN ACTRESS MOZART STARS IN HALLOWEEN COMMERCIAL FOR KMART

Fall is  great time for adventures with kids. Mozart is one of the big kids this year. Normally, she'd be a junior in high school now, but since she skipped ahead and graduated with honors at 14 and started college part time and acting/singing/songwriting full-time, she walks a unique path of bridging the adult world and teen world at the same time.

Being at the pumpkin patch reminded us that every age is a good time to be a kid and enjoy celebrating the seasons together.

In the blink of an eye, you are carrying your baby to see their first pumpkin patch and then you have a teen ready to make her mark on this world & a million memories of all the autumn festivals you have done together over the years.

If you are looking for a pumpkin patch around Los Angeles, check out this resource:

9 Best Pumpkin Patches in Los Angeles

We picked Shawn's Pumpkin Patch because it was close by on the west side  and free.

Mozart has already been to two Halloween parties and one Halloween red carpet. This year she decided to be an angel.

It is fun for her to meet up with other teen friends who are on this path like her fellow Brat series stars
Sofie Dossi(  AGT Golden Buzzer ) and Aliyah Moulden ( the Voice). You might have seen this on Mozart's Instagram.

and her good friend Makayla Phillips ( AGT) who shares the same manager.

Hope you have a divine Halloween and fall season!! What is your costume or favorite fall adventure?

Mozart Smashes the Patriarchy in
Girl Power Song "Push You Harder"

Globe-trotting, trilingual teen pop
prodigy Mozart has debuted her new song
and video for "Push You Harder" a passionate

Globe-trotting, trilingual teen pop phenom Mozart has debuted her song and official video for "Push You Harder," a passionate girl-power anthem about smashing the patriarchy, healing that pain & taking the power back.

Mozart - PUSH YOU HARDER (Official Music Video) - YouTube

This mesmerizing single off her upcoming debut EP with Grammy-winning producer Mikal Blue, could not come at a more relevant time as the vocalist lends her voice to her dedicated fans around the world to channel their strength and push back.

"Don't push me down, cause I'll get up and push you harder, you think you're cool, so I'm gon' drop the temperature fight like a girl, cause you know I'm my mother's daughter."

Mozart is ready to carve her place in popular culture. Her big goal is to be the first American trilingual pop star as she wants to be a bridge and cultural ambassador who can help lift and unite through her languages, creativity and platform.

She recently did a TED Talkstarred in the Brat series "The Talent Show," won a Best Actress Award for her dramatic lead in the film "Rose," was featured next to Ariana Grande in her "God is a Woman" music video and recently appeared on MTV songwriting with Bebe Rexha.

Additionally, she was a featured singer in both Halsey's and Lindsey Stirling's documentaries, and has won several film festival awards for writing/filmmaking/editing her music videos of her original songs.

So many exciting things happening right now for Mozart and we are so grateful for all your support over the years. Please make sure you are following her on Spotify https://spoti.fi/2R43fWV and adding her songs to your playlists!

Autumn Travel - Best Destinations!

Fall is the perfect time to get away
as one can skip the heat and crowds
of the summer high season

Fall is the perfect time to get away as one can skip the heat and crowds of the summer high season and even enjoy better prices during this shoulder season! Here are other posts I have written about travel in the fall:

China Travel in Autumn

Autumn in the Alps

Stunning Fall Colors Around the World

Italy in Autumn

Vineyards are also in full fall color and ready for harvest so that can be an added bonus of fall travel.

Sometimes you get lucky like we did traveling in Italy one fall where we got to see these beautiful sunflowers in full bloom with the back drop of trees in a spectacular show of fall foliage of gold, scarlet and orange.

Or when we were visiting vineyards in Route des Vins d'Alsace while in France one autumn and were astonished as it was like walking into a painting.

Even farmers markets are full of fall goodness like these these brightly colored pumpkins and gourds in lovely Ljublija, Slovenia.

Fall is a terrific time to do Biking Vineyards in France  during harvest time like we did in  Burgundy at an awesome Pinot Noir vineyard just bursting with autumn color.

Cities can also be rewarding and so less crowded, so more connection with locals like we did in Prague, where our little Mozart Dee the musician studies posters surrounded by fallen leaves.

So no matter if you are a single, couple or family, fall is great time to explore! Where is your fave fall get away?
