Psychic medium Lillyanne shows you how to unlock your inner intuitive powers. This month, she shows you how to awaken your third eye chakra
Our third eye chakra is an energy centre within our body that awakens our intuition and higher wisdom. When we’re ready to develop our intuitive and psychic abilities, this is the chakra we need to focus on. Once awakened, it powerfully supports our work with the divine and angelic realms.
A chakra is a centre of energy in our bodies which signifies the life force inside of us. There are seven main chakras located in our bodies, and each of them has a different use. Here, we are focusing on the third eye chakra, which is located slightly above your nose, between your eyebrows. The third eye chakra aids the ability to see the bigger picture, to remain focused, and to expand your spiritual sight. It is also said to be physically connected to our eyes and sinuses.
The colour indigo is heavily associated with your third eye chakra, and visualising this colour helps the third eye to become open, calm and clearer. You can wear indigo clothes or crystals to energise the third eye chakra. Meditation also helps bring positivity to your chakras. To tune in to the third eye chakra, meditate while visualising indigo hues.
To balance my chakras, I meditate twice a day, morning, and night. This helps give me time to reflect and open the spiritual doors for my Star People so that they can connect fully and guide me through my work. When we first begin to develop our skills as mediums and psychics, it can be easy to forget we have this source of wisdom waiting to be awakened. Awakening the third eye chakra can make all the difference between your intuition being good and spot on. It’s a powerful chakra to work with!
As a psychic medium, I have a crystal collection which goes into the hundreds, but there are a few I keep on my person to keep the third eye open. The colour associated with the third-eye is indigo. Crystals that are dark blue or purple in colour are helpful. Amethyst, Unakite, Moonstone and Lapis Lazuli are my personal favourites. I make sure to incorporate these into my daily routine by using them in meditation, having them in my house and even wearing them as jewellery. If we need them to, the crystals will also heal our third eye. The size of the crystal you use doesn’t matter, you can use a tiny piece and it will still be effective – the crystal’s vibration will still respond.
Now try our third eye meditation…
1. Go into a clear space (preferably near a window in the morning for natural light) and prepare it for your meditation session. I do this by burning essential oils known to stimulate the third eye chakra, (frankincense, lavender, sandalwood) and setting out a meditation mat.
2. Sit cross-legged on the mat with your back straight and focus on your breathing. Breathe slowly and heavily, counting to three until you fall into a natural rhythm.
3. Visualise indigo lights and your third eye chakra basking in this beautiful energy. Continue for fifteen minutes and feel more awakened, then carry on with your daily routine after clearing your equipment up.
Get to grips with cleansing and using your crystal pendulum for any future divination
Q: “I think I’m doing something wrong with my pendulum. I’ve tried using it twice and both times I’ve ended up with a migraine and felt really sick. Do you know what I may be doing wrong?”
A: “When you first got your pendulum, did you cleanse it? The first thing you need to do is cleanse it with a solution of salt, and then let it dry in the outside − preferably overnight and sunshine, if you can. Say “I cleanse this pendulum with love and light”, then what you need to do for yourself is to put protection around you. If you’ve not done this before, the best way is to visualise putting yourself in a banana skin, and zipping it up right to the top. Also, ask to be protected and kept safe from anything that isn’t right. After doing all of this, you should have no further problems using it, and the migraines should not happen again. Think long and hard about what you need answers to, and make sure the answers can only be defined by ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Try not to confuse yourself too much!”

Learn how to read your tarot and get results with the help of Brigid Banrion
“Tarot gives you choice.
“It’s a long-held belief that tarot reveals a ‘fixed fate’. No shortcuts, no bends in the road, no options and no way out. But that is not so! Gone are the days when tarot could limit, disempower and frighten the reader. I’ve been reading for ten years, and the tarot has incited such power, such clarity, and such expansion in my life, that inviting it in, as part of my daily practice, is the smartest decision I’ve ever made. I’m living proof of this.
“To access the most information, recognise that our own preconceptions block us from receiving; expectations about what we want will only get in the way, and may not be part of the wider plan for us, as determined by Source. The Universe knows what we need better than we do! And by interacting with this divine energy, it feels like a conversation with life, which wills us to be better. When reading for a client, I am always provided with a clear picture of at least two paths, and each person’s energy serves to feed and influence the meaning inside the cards. I lead them on the path that best serves, but how they use the message is up to them.
“Tarot acts as a doorway to greater psychic ability. The cards act like triggers for awareness. They are designed to open up the entire cosmic bank of information, available to us from within, and it’s reached in three easy steps. By drawing three cards a day, irrespective of whether you ‘know the meanings’ or not, is so achievable and powerful in its benefits.
“So firstly, quiet your mind. Make your surroundings comfortable and take a deep breath with your cards in front of you as you take these three steps:
“This is a state of total silence in the mind, where expectations are left aside, and the mind is clear of fear, thought or worry. It feels ‘radical’, in that we no longer approach the message with the intent to control the outcome. It’s a state which incites great wisdom and allows you to access parts of yourself that you might not have known existed. The cards become a reflected conversation with your higher self, and show you patterns of behaviour, which I like to call karmic cycles, that, when identified regularly, release us from daily binds.
“It feels like everything’s suddenly ‘bigger’, and happens when we read the cards aloud. You might hear yourself say something which you didn’t know you felt, or some detail that is predictive and you weren’t expecting. This is direct channelling, and the messages become more evolved and beneficial, as you practice. You’ll often find you have so much to say, and quickly!
“Remember love, always, in how you approach your clients, and yourself. Source wants us to heal, to become powerful and potent. By participating in this sacred work, you become a channel for compassion. Wisdom is best served warm, and you’ll find you release so many blocks in your life, by opening gently to receive.
“Reading is a joy to be held, not a sport. So relax and enjoy the ride – it is amazing what you can experience along the way.

Find out what it’s like to spend the evening with one of the country’s most well-known and respected mediums, Tony Stockwell
Tony Stockwell is a medium, healer and teacher from Wickford, Essex. Spontaneous and totally up-front, he hides nothing and reveals everything. He uses his special gift to help people in their quest for consolation, and during his upcoming tour dates, he will be returning to a venue near you, bringing messages of comfort to those who need to hear and understand that a friend, loved one or someone they cared about can still be with them.
During his 25 years working as a medium, Tony has had umpteen television programmes including Psychic Academy, Psychic Detective, Street Psychic and Psychic School, as well as written four highly-acclaimed books and taught globally at some of the most respected schools for mediumistic development as well as setting up his own school for developing mediums.
On the evening of one of his shows, Tony will demonstrate his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages frequently including names, dates and locations – all delivered with emotion, sensitivity and empath. The evening may include psychometry, photograph readings and psychic prediction as well.
Tony hopes that through his current work, he will make others aware that there’s something more than just our current lives. “Whether through mental or physical mediumship, on TV or through small groups, if you can bless one person’s life to absolutely believe beyond doubt that their mum, their dad, their son, or their daughter is actually going to be there waiting for them and it gives them comfort, then that’s worth doing.”
Tony certainly uses his natural wit, showmanship and cockney charisma to entertain, but more importantly, he shows that mediumship has the potential to change someone’s life and instil in them a sense of peace, comfort and purpose.
Have a read of testimonials from previous audience members…
“Tony Stockwell blew me away with his accuracy of dates, names, etc. He did convince me there must be life beyond the grave.” – An audience member from Manchester
“Tony was absolutely fantastic! He was correct 99% of the time. Giving names, colour of eyes, ages, amount of children, and habits, etc. Nearly all proved correct. He was funny as well, giving out little quips of humour.” – An audience member from Manchester
“I have been to many clairvoyance evenings. However, this was definitely one of the best. Tony has a way of making you feel very relaxed and totally at ease.” – An audience member from York
“I was very lucky to have my auntie come through! The names and things he told me could only have come from someone who knew me, and I totally 100% believe in him and his work. He adds some humour to what is an emotional time. He was spot on with everyone’s readings. He is well worth seeing.”
Our columnist Derek Acorah shares his tale of a spooky encounter in an old Cumbrian hall…
“Levens Hall in Cumbria is a beautiful old building, part of which dates back to the 12th century. It is believed to be haunted by many, many ghosts. Among them there is a grey lady who is said to walk the driveway. She is reputed to appear in front of cars before disappearing without trace. There is also a second ghostly lady who is said to appear in the house, usually to children, and there is a small black dog who is also reputed to wander around. The hall was allegedly cursed at one point when a starving woman was turned away from the house. The curse was that no son would inherit the property until the River Kent didn’t flow and a white fawn was born in its surrounding park. The curse was lifted in 1896 when the river froze over and a white fawn was born.
“As I entered the hall, my first impression was that of a lady who smiled and murmered the name ‘Jocelyn’. At least I knew that there would be some spirit activity while I was present. I felt drawn to a room on the upper floor. My spirit guide Sam guided me to a bedroom to the left of a huge square landing. As I entered the bedroom, I became aware of a spirit lady who emanated peace and calm. She wore a dress which was covered in small marks, and as I concentrated further, I realised that it had a flower print on the material. She had a mob cap covering her hair, and spoke to me of the children, and I gained the impression that she had been a governess of sorts.
“A swirl of pink drew my eyes towards the bed. As the first spirit lady faded from my view, I could make out the shape of yet another female outline. This lady, as she became clearer to my eyes, said nothing, but looked haughtily towards me. “This is the Countess of Suffolk,” Sam advised me. “She was the daughter of James Grahme, who owned Levens Hall many, many years ago.
“Moving on to a second bedroom, I could hear a name being shouted… ‘Bellingham! Bellingham!’ The name was repeated over and over again. I got a brief glimpse of the small black dog, which is alleged to wander around the rooms of the hall. Was his name Bellingham? I don’t know. He disappeared as quickly as he had appeared. I was aware that many spirit entities were around us at the time of my investigation. Sam told me that there were a number of vortexes in the hall, and that was why it was visited so often by spirit people. My psychic appraisal and my spiritual information from Sam came in to prove once again that for some reason the spirit people find it far easier and more appropriate to make sure that vortex, (or ‘spiritual doorways’ as I like to refer to them), are very close in proximity, if not directly on top, of ley lines, and I was convinced and still am that Levens Hall sits firmly above ley lines.
“My investigation of Levens Hall drew to a close. I encountered many spirit people within its walls – far too many unfortunately to catalogue here – but I did see the grey lady, famed for walking across the driveway. It was she who corrected me when I mentioned having seen an orb. ‘No,’ she said rather frostily, ‘they are quite simply life lights’. I gathered her meaning to be that they are signs of people who are still alive in life, but in a different dimension, and that they are still in the old places where they once lived, but are now in a body which is so ethereal and so light, that they are not generally seen by the naked eye in physical form.”

This month’s cover star, Sally Morgan, tells us all about her show in Birmingham, for another evening of spiritual messages
How was the Birmingham show?
Well what can I say Birmingham − what a wonderful evening we had. It was a night full of messages, validations, and a little guest even tried to join me on stage… During the first half, I noticed the audience started to make a fuss. Then I heard a few screams, and then someone shouted “mouse!” − and lo and behold, there was a little mouse running under the seats! Luckily it was sorted pretty quickly and I was able to continue the evening uninterrupted. I’m used to spirit animals on stage with me, but a real-life mouse – no thank you! I had a lovely, warm welcome, and I always feel so lucky that even on a cold winter’s evening, people took the time to come and see my show. We had laughs and tears, and my wish is that people left the evening with a sense of hope and comfort.
Which spirit messages in particular stood out for you?
As I was sitting in the dressing room, preparing for the show, I had the name Donald come through, and I knew this was the first message I was going to give. When I went out, I told the audience that I had a spirit called Donald who was very ill before he passed. Donald told me that Sam was not there when he died, but he wanted to hold Sam’s hand, and he was sorry that Sam wasn’t there. He then asked for a Sandy. A lady stood to take the message, and she was able to validate it − Donald was her brother-in-law, Sandy is Donald’s daughter and Sam is his grandson. He wanted Sam to know how he was sorry he passed before he got to see him, and that he was able to see Sandy but not Sam. He told me that he knew for eight days prior to his passing that something was seriously wrong. The woman confirmed that he was having pains in his arm the week before he passed and that everyone had told him he needed to see a doctor. He also asked for a Pete, and the woman in the audience confirmed that Pete is Donald’s son. The premise of the message was that Donald wanted his family to know that he is around them, and that he is happy, at peace and that he loves them all very much. The lady who stood to take the message will now be able to pass this onto Donald’s family, and hopefully this will give them hope and comfort.
Were there any other memorable moments for you at this show?
Towards the end of the evening, just as I thought we had sorted the pest control after the mouse incident, I could see a massive hairy spider on stage! But this spider was in spirit. So I ask the audience if this meant anything to anyone, and immediately a girl put her hand up. She told me how she had a large tarantula that had passed that she had loved very much, and he must’ve liked her too, as he had come on stage to see her. As the girl stood, I was given the name Fred. I asked her who Fred was, and the girl was able to validate that she had an uncle Fred who is now in spirit. Fred told me to say the name Janet, and the girl confirmed that Janet is her cousin who is Fred’s niece. Fred wanted the girl to check on Janet − he told me that he had been with Janet recently and that there may have been a small issue with Janet where she could do with a person to talk to. The girl then said that she would check on Janet. To think that from a spider I was able to pass on a message like this is absolutely wonderful − and hysterical, as I’m petrified of spiders. I think having a tarantula in spirit on stage with me has to be a first, so thank you, Birmingham!

Famed Soul & Spirit columnist Sally Morgan takes her show to Brighton, where there’s an abundance of messages to be heard…
How was Brighton’s show for you?
I absolutely love Brighton − there is always such an amazing crowd. I’m able to pass on messages by harnessing the energy from the individual, and as I could already feel the energy from the side of the stage, I just knew the night was going to be a good one, as the spirits were already lining up.
Were there any members of the audience that you were drawn to?
As I was standing waiting to go on, I was shown a scene in my head of lots of cactus plants, and I was also given the name ‘Bunny’. So the first message I gave was exactly that. I knew that it was a male spirit that was showing me all of these cactus plants, and he said ‘Bunny!’ A lady stood to take the message, and told me that her grandfather used to collect cactus plants, and that he kept them on his windowsill. She also confirmed that her sister had a bunny, and that she would never stop talking about it to him, so the bunny made complete sense to her. He then gives me the name Philip, and the woman confirms that Philip is her grandfather’s nephew who was like a son to him. He tells me that she needs to keep an eye on him. Then he asks for Lin. The woman in the audience is able to confirm that Lin is her mum, and then he says the name Lauren. ‘Yes’, the lady confirms, and that she’s called Lauren. Just as I’m about to pull away from the message, he asks who has his cactus, to which Lauren confirms that she does, and that she’ll look after them for him. It was a lovely message which was able to give the family validation that their beloved grandfather is still with them.
What else stayed with you from the Brighton show?
I had a lovely man on stage who gave me his age, saying he was 32 years old. He was a kind man with Down’s Syndrome and said, “I was calling out, didn’t you hear me calling?” He told me he had an operation and three days later, he passed. A lady stood to take the message and confirmed that this was her brother, and that he would always call out for his mum. He told me that he was put to sleep for an operation and woke up − he thought he was going to have another operation, but instead he passed. The woman confirmed this, and said he had an operation, and did indeed sadly pass three days later. He showed me his neck and that he could feel the ‘thump, thump, thump’ in his neck. She acknowledged that he was fitted with a pacemaker of sorts, and that he had something in his neck for this and would have felt the beat of his heart in his neck. He also showed me a bag of what I thought was Lego and said that he loved to carry his Lego bricks around in a bag. He gave me the name Paul, and told me how he liked to share his Lego with Paul. The woman confirmed that he carried his toys around in a bag and would have shared them with his friends. He told me that he wanted his toys with him in his casket, and the woman from the audience confirmed that they put his musical books in his casket with him. The man’s spirit just wanted them to know how much he loved his family. He had such a gentle passing that he thought he was going to sleep, which he did − he simply went to sleep, and had passed away. I hope it was a comfort to this family that he was still with them, was safe and at peace in the spirit world.
Our columnist shares his tale of a heart- breaking murder at the famous Red Lion Inn…
“Apart from Stonehenge, I think that the most famous stone circle in the UK has to be the Avebury Stones which sit in a field in front of the famous Red Lion Inn. They lend a mystical air to the old inn, which is the answer to any ghost hunter’s dream. With its thatched roof, log fire and long history, it is everything that an investigator could ever require. There is so much residual energy that it would take many days to complete a thorough and in-depth investigation.
“Many ghosts have been reported as being seen at the Red Lion, and these include a woman known as Beth. There is also an unnamed man and a small girl. I have to say that when I visited the premises I saw none of these spirit people, but I did catch sight of a monk in full habit standing in the doorway of the lounge of the pub. He stood silently with his hands folded in the sleeves of his robe before fading away to nothingness. I also caught briefly the sight of a man dressed in what I would call the uniform of a Cavalier soldier. I saw the spirits of two children in a bedroom on the upper floor. They calmly continued on with their play as I stood watching them from the doorway. The spirit person I had come to investigate was that of ‘Florence’ or ‘Florrie’, as she was known.
“As I stood in the centre of the lounge I became aware of the presence of a female. I saw a lady standing in the same doorway as the monk had appeared. “They call me Florence,” she said, “and I lived here many years ago. I met my end in the well”. Tears streamed down her face. “I loved him” she said as her spirit form started to fade away. I had been told nothing about a well in the premises, and quickly asked Sam as to its location. “I will show you,” answered Sam and then proceeded to relate to me the sad story of the lady who had shown herself in the lounge. She had been a young woman from a modestly well-off family who had been waylaid by three men, had her throat cut and her lifeless body had been thrown down a well. I was overwhelmed by a feeling of great sadness. Poor Florence! Robbed of her life and the opportunity to marry the man she loved. The sadness of her husband-to-be when he arrived home to find her gone overwhelmed me.
“Sam guided me to a room at the rear of the inn. There was the well. It had been surrounded by a low brick wall and covered in a sheet of plate glass. I looked down through the glass and could see that this was indeed the well where poor Florence had breathed her last. I once again felt overcome by the feeling of great sadness and loss. I prayed that Florence should find peace at last after her terrible end. One thing that I would mention about the Red Lion Inn (to anybody who is interested in going there to conduct an investigation), is that it is a very old building, and the windows do not fit as snugly as they might in a modern home. Take care that a swinging chandelier is not to be taken as proof of spirit activity – the breezes from the windows can be thought responsible for many alleged paranormal happenings.”

Our columnist shares his spooky tale of a haunted village inn and his encounter with the ghost of a murderer…
The Mermaid Inn
“Over the years of investigations of haunted locations that I have been involved in, I have come across many old inns around the coast of England that have played a part in the smuggling history of our island. One of the most memorable is The Mermaid Inn situated in the picturesque village of Rye on the Sussex coast. It is almost like taking a step back in time, as the ordinary suburban housing gives way to cobbled streets flanked on either side by black and white houses with quaint leaded windows – their upper floors leaning drunkenly outwards towards one another.
“When I visited the premises, the first thing I noticed was a witch’s ball hanging from the ceiling in the corner of the lounge. It is believed that the shining surface of the ball would reflect back to the instigator any negative spells which may be sent in to a property. In fact, the shiny baubles we hang on our Christmas trees today are based on the old witch’s balls of yesteryear.
“The atmosphere of the old inn was fascinating. The residual energy was full of the stealthy comings and goings, muffled whispers and the soft tread of long-gone feet. As I sat opening myself up to the atmosphere, I was also aware of hearty laughter and whispered plans – fear, many secrets and death.
“I felt drawn to the upper floor of the old inn and made my way to a bedroom situated opposite the top of the stairs. I sensed the presence of a young woman as I looked into the room. As her spirit form built up at the far side of the fireplace, I could see from her dress that she would have been of the serving classes of around the 1600s. She seemed unaware of my presence and was busying herself with some clothes in front of the fire. “Who is she?” I asked. “Annie Birtles” came the reply. “She was in love with a man named Chater who was one of a gang of fourteen smugglers. The leader of the gang, Thomas Kingsmill, had ordered that Chater put an end to her life, as he was afraid that Annie would talk about the smuggling activities of the gang to the authorities”. Chater had done as Kingsmill had ordered.
“A second bedroom revealed to me the sound of clashing steel. I knew immediately that a sword fight had taken place in the room. I could see nothing but the fabric of the room. The walls and ceilings had absorbed the emotions felt at the time of the fight to the death. I felt an immense pressure and pain in my chest and knew that one of the combatants had succumbed. The sound of a door latch clicking made me turn and I was in time to catch a glimpse of the spirit presence of a man as he turned and walked down a corridor and disappeared into another bedroom. I knew that the man I had seen was the loathsome and murderous Chater. I feel sure that many present day inhabitants of this particular bedroom would report having seen the ghost of a man.
“A third bedroom contained a rocking chair which I felt drawn to. As I placed my hands on the back of it, I picked up emanations of an elderly lady and a child. I also picked up the names Beth and George, and felt sure that in some way these names were connected to the gang of smugglers who continue to haunt the old inn. I was told after the investigation that the chair periodically rocks without anybody having been near it or touched it. My time at The Mermaid Inn only scratched the surface of the secrets that are held there, and I would like to return one day to continue my investigations into the history of the gang of smugglers who still inhabit the rooms of their headquarters of old.”
Your homely hauntings…
“Why do things keep disappearing around my home? Since we moved into our new house I’m finding quite frequently that things like my keys are not where I left them!” – Paula, Oxford
“If your house is old, it could be that you have the spirit of a former resident living with you, and they are playing tricks on you! This often happens when objects appear in places we didn’t originally put them. When this next happens, say the following out loud: “Spirit, if you are at peace, let this silly trickery cease. I mean you no harm. Vanish from this place, or else, show yourself to my face!”
