South East Lancashire Orienteering Club (SELOC) is an orienteering club based largely in the northern districts of Greater Manchester – Salford, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham expanding west towards Liverpool.
SELOC Successes The last in the club’s current series of Saturday events took place among the beautifully runnable woodlands and contours of Tandle Hill, with another good turnout even though the weather wasn’t quite as promising as previous events. Results are already on the website, so will just pick out wins for our juniors, Adam on Orange and Daniel on
A report from Stephen Richards in Riga, Latvia Day 1 – I get worse as I grow older It didn’t start well. I got off the bus from the airport to go to the event centre. Realised that I had lost the map I had picked up at the airport and to make matters worse my phone wouldn’t bring up
SELOC Successes A good turnout on yet another sunny day at SELOC’s Saturday Series event at Queen’s Park in Heywood, results are available on the website so I won’t go into them here. But there was plenty more going on elsewhere too. Starting with the most prestigious event of the week, the World Masters Championships got underway in Latvia. Stephen
SELOC Successes Biggest turnout of SELOC members was naturally at our own Chadderton Hall Park event on Saturday, where Kath Etherden and Caroline Barcham squeezed some interesting courses out of a small area. Competitors were probably quite glad it was only a small area as the heat of the day made for difficult running conditions. But that doesn’t seem to
SELOC Successes Well we’re past the summer solstice now, so the nights are drawing in already! But still a good few midweek evening events on offer, though make the most of them as they’ll be fewer once the full holiday season gets under way. A good crop of people were out gathering SELOC Club League points from SROC’s sprint race
SELOC Successes SELOC’s very own sprint event at the Horwich Festival of Racing was the biggest of the weekend for all of us, this year incorporating the NWOA Sprint Championships. There were wins and medals for Anna Wilson, Daniel Wilson and Matt Driver in their respective age classes. Full results are on the website so I won’t repeat them here.
Results are now available from today’s 2-stage event at Queen’s Park and Horwich. We hope you enjoyed the event in (mostly) good conditions.
